7621  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Peer-to-Peer Ad Network Powered by Bitcoin and Stacks on: June 21, 2021, 09:07:30 AM
The current problem with advertising is wanting to show ads to everyone. Imagine you could deploy your budget were you only show ads to matches. That not only increases the effectiveness of our ad but also the reach of your budget.

Thanks for the response. Just a final comment on ads budgeting.

Sure, but that extra cost for targeting is what puts potentials off, and can be considered more intrusive (then you also only get people who want to be targeted which brings out the "bounty" mentality, like on Brave, almost narrowing away people who will actually spend money at your product/service. While the "display to all" gets you... well... awareness, which is something to pay for anyway, in most advertising cases.
7622  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io "Soccer Blackjack" @ 21.00 odds on: June 20, 2021, 06:57:28 PM
Ah what a nice game that turned out to be eh? No Blackjack and when I saw the lineup missing Immobile, Insigne, Chiellini... felt it would be low-scoring but 7 corners from Italy wasn't so bad! 13, a push, but more importantly, the yellow from the scorer to give us our first Special hit from Sportsbet.

Nice way to wrap up the week;)

its great that we had Italy vs Wales instead of Switzerland vs Turkey, its a bust for this one

8 corners each, what a match that must have been (didn't see it)!
7623  Economy / Reputation / Re: Stater NFT team decided to run a bounty and this is how it turned out. on: June 20, 2021, 02:24:53 PM
^^ All agreed. Stater, either you're really new and you didn't do enough bg research on how "bounty" programs run so didn't know what to expect (we could have all told you before you started it what you'd be getting) or you got hoodwinked by them marketing projects promising numbers (not quality).

You do get peanut-eaters if you pay peanuts, but you also can't be promising more than peanuts if you're not delivering more than that.

If you're really serious about the project and serious marketing, maybe you need to rethink bounties as part of your strategy?
7624  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +62395 units on: June 20, 2021, 12:54:10 PM
Portugal, feel bad for them, but Germany deserved the win thoroughly. Pretty cool memories from the weekend, yeah? Hungary celebration, and that Ronaldo flick, I'm entertained even losing.

Got quite a few bets that will settle today, but for now, a boosted insured parlay at Sportsbet:

100 units on Italy, Switzerland, Colombia, Ecuador and Palmeiras to WIN @12.46. Other odds: 11.88
Units advantage: 58

Running advantage after 382 bets: +25,772 (+58)
All-time cumulative: +64,170
Running units after 381 bets (63W|318L): +15,778 (-100)
7625  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Adoption In Paraguay Next Month, the domino effect is unstoppable on: June 20, 2021, 12:00:34 PM
Big nations will not accept national adoption for Bitcoin in some small nations. They know how bad the global financial system is. Bitcoin and CBDCs are gates to eliminate national debts for small nations.

Exactly. Because it's how you tie a country to you with debt. It all began with the Marshall plan 70+ years ago, and when even Marshall Islands tried to use the Sovereign they worried about it, IMF had to step in.

That is why the intention years ago in Venezuela die too fast. The game will only become real when big nations launch their CBDCs that can create real domino effects. It will not be official admission for Bitcoin but unofficial it is. In politics and enonomics, in communist nations, they changed to become more likely as Western economy but communist governments never say they fail with initial communist economy.

You also have to blame the Venezuelan government there, though, as the Petro was not only ill-thought out, it was completely fraudulent, just another tool to oppress the people, and it didn't want it to co-exist with Bitcoin.
7626  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: June 20, 2021, 10:38:05 AM
Where did you see + 3 goals? I counted 55 forgotten ones and divided them into 24 games .... and I still can't get 2.41.  As far as 21 goals are concerned, I think it is unlikely that 9 goals will be scored in G'F ... I'm not even sure about the Netherlands against N'Macedonia (although 7 goals in 2 games seems more realistic).

I used the Goals Scored For stats from Livescores but you're right, what a lousy stat checker I am;) I'm checking again and this is the correct standings:

Group A: 10
Group B: 9 8
Group C: 14
Group D: 6 5
Group E: 6
Group F: 13 12
55 from 24 games
Average: 2.29

Good going still.

If you trust them (personally I think as a player they're fine to use, but they did kinda screw over investors), BitDice currently has Italy under 0.5 cards at 2.77 odds. I couldn't find any other non-KYC Bitcoin options with the market unfortunately. I think I'll just let my bet live and hope Italy gets a yellow - might as well make things interesting  Smiley

I ended up taking this solution proposed by DarkStar_ for half of intended stake and the other half I took on Sportsbet with the boost and got odds @2.55. That way I sort of mitigate most of uncertainties, red card on Sportsbet and leaving larger sums on site I don't regularly use.

Anyway still hoping for that one yellow card from Italy, will be watching the game like a hawk and probably yelling at the ref Smiley

Ah I had no idea BitDice had become a sportsbook! Used to have an account there long ago, but for dice (yeah, I know haha).

Hope Italy get a yellow for simulation or time-wasting, for fun, or Bale eggs them on who knows haha.
7627  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 20, 2021, 09:36:39 AM
It looked offside on the first watching but there was a leg left from opposition player so all good and finally one VAR call I can endorse 100%.

I was really surprised with Germans scoring 4 goals against usually very solid Portuguese side. Granted 2 of those were own goals but it was achievement anyway. Why couldn't they score one more goal so at least our over 4.5 goals scored promo would be a winning one.

Yeah, I saw several other angles after my initial comment and yes, agree, VAR as it should be. No complaints. I honestly thought Germany would win that special for us. We wait another week as it is.

Germany were pressing very hard and that was very hard for Portugal defense to handle. Two own goals was the result of that. Germany today were totally superb and Portugal's defense were really clueless. Portugal attack was very good today but that wasn't enough for them to win the match.

More of that, please Germany, and this is what I wish more teams would do. Push for direct attacks, stop fiddling around with finding chinks in the armour, just bang on the goddamn doors and get own goals and penalties and corners haha.
7628  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Peer-to-Peer Ad Network Powered by Bitcoin and Stacks on: June 20, 2021, 08:33:29 AM
Hi OP, also stopping by out of curiosity and I've actually seen several models implemented in my home country as long as 10-15 years ago, mainly because of cost issue (can't afford google or don't know how to get value for money) but also they used in networks (food businesses advertising also in other food businesses, but not to compete, to complement... e.g. a pizza place showing ads for everything else other than pizza).

The problem I always found was you can't really estimate the benefit. 90% cheaper ads could mean 90% less relevant views? And you'd only be selling views, not clickthrus, very hard to track otherwise, or I suppose, ad time, which is the billboard model. You've probably also underestimated costs... $250 a month for 10 smart TVs running 24 hours doesn't sound right but also doesn't sound effective -- in my moderately sized city, you get a week's 24/7 roving banner on a tram = $250 a week. I feel like I'd rather pay for that exposure.

P.S. Somewhat reminiscent of all those pay2surf companies from late 90s to even 5/6 years ago, just running those ad bars and getting people to view them or open them up on screens in public places -- that model crashed after a while, no?

P. P.S. Brave ads, let me tell you, they're probably the best cost per view and acquisition and they still only pay a fraction to the user.
7629  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The fall from 65k to $30k was the best thing to ever happen to Bitcoin on: June 20, 2021, 07:23:15 AM
Hodling and buying are getting more popular is good, I guess. I do think using getting more popular is even better, but I think it's just because prices are down so much from the ATH that people are waiting further to see. Once the MA gets a little lower, people will be less reluctant to spend, when they feel that the rally's over and it'll slowly pick up again on the next cycle.

Not the best thing to happen ever, but certainly, I'm enjoying the lull.
7630  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: June 19, 2021, 08:54:24 PM
Catastrophe in Seville!

With Pau Torres getting booked, we now truly only wait for Italy. I think it's going to be our first winner, but always nice to hedge, but as Trofo says, you can't precisely hedge as it's booking points, not yellows, as far as I can tell for all the books I'm using.

The only option is to open a market on Fairlay or something and hope someone takes it haha, otherwise, everywhere else I've checked nothing precise.

Nevertheless, the way Italy plays, I can't see a red card, so I booked an equal bet there anyway on under 0.5 booking points -- 2.76 -- still best odds at SB with boost. If we lose the special, I get my money back, if they only get a red card, I'll lost about 30% more than my original outlay. Its okay:)

==== Update on total goals====
Group A: 10
Group B: 9
Group C: 14
Group D: 6
Group E: 6
Group F: 13
58 from 24 games
Average: 2.41 -- we're still alive!

For 21 goals, our hopes rest on Netherlands and Germany? Maybe even another thriller betwixt Portugal and France?
7631  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 19, 2021, 07:30:37 PM
So, Morata's goal looked offside. Was flagged offside, and there wasn't that much of an argument from even Morata himself, and then VAR review, goal. Have to say that was lucky, but I guess this is why VAR's here.

But what a feast from Germany. Sorry that Portugal lost as they were sharp on the counter at first. Two own goals, guess their good luck from first match evened out today.
7632  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Adoption In Paraguay Next Month, the domino effect is unstoppable on: June 19, 2021, 04:02:22 PM
The world needs this. After El Salvador passed a bill declaring Bitcoin as a legal tender, the global monetary agencies are not happy and are finding negative implications in it rather than advantages. These financial bodies should get a little pressure to at least make them reconsider their insistence on  traditional views. If countries adopt Bitcoin one after another, they might get the message and begin opening up to emerging innovations in financial technology.

Much of the developing world certainly needs solutions to their monetary problems but the entire financial system globally is rotten at the core. I still don't think Bitcoin "is the answer" but yeah, perhaps, there are some use cases for a state to at least protect some of its wealth, or, alongside other types of consumer tech layers like Lightning, maybe Bitcoin network is a viable way to conduct parts of the economy for the masses that's also inflation resistant (but they will still need to solve volatility via heh stablecoins maybe, probably).

One step at a time, though, I guess.
7633  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Why exactly is Bitcoin clinging to PoW? on: June 19, 2021, 02:57:55 PM
^ Can't say I know enough about what's going on in Texas, I think it's a tragedy but I also think it's a case of mismanagement and poor governance, and a direct result of storm damage (or failure of storm resistance, which it knowingly did not fix for a decade at least apparently).

So them Texans had better start electing better leaders or pushing for better means to distribute energy or fix the storm damage. Blaming it on miners is at best going to remove them from the equation, but that doesn't mean they won't simply be replaced by other commercial consumers, nor will it mean redistributing power to where it's needed.

The problem is a loss of power generation capacity. The miners won't have been invited over if there wasn't enough capacity in the first place.

RIP Mbappe fts special, I was itching to pull trigger on a Hungary 1st Half upset at 9/1 but did NOT see this coming. France should really take more shots on goal, I remember their keeper wasn't too good but he's not even been tested properly, while Lloris failed on his first test -- hate those near post goals which you should always cover.

Mbappe still good to watch though, if they hold their nerve we still can get a win.

2,865/1!! how is that even possible? All Pre Live.. and he had a decent stab at it too.  Shocked Shocked
Jesus Christ! 2,865/1? Wow. This guy is either an expert at betting or randomly struck gold thanks to insane luck. He won nearly 9 grand by placing a miniscule bet. Loving these accumulator wins.

Check it, it's 2,865 boosted to 3,867! That 35% boost made it even more legendary hot damn.
7635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin be the biggest bubble economy in history? on: June 19, 2021, 01:08:26 PM
You live in a more progressive society than me. I literally this year alone was almost in a conversation where people were in agreement that Bitcoin was only used by money launderers and cocaine drug lords. They were not being funny, either. They were top-of-the-line highly-qualified finance people with decades of collective experience and education. I just shrugged and said "you're right".

Those are actually excellent use cases for Bitcoin, and may it never be stopped from being used for moving value across countries illegaly, and for buying drugs from the dark markets. The moment the authorities can stop Bitcoin from being used for illegal activities, is the moment Bitcoin has lost its main value proposition.

Indeed. Use case is use case. In fact, governments trying to stop Bitcoin (I'll always remember the US sanctioning of Bitcoin addresses and how that actually led to more anon donations going to those addresses as a funny case) only proves Bitcoin's main value proposition, as you say. Marathon is only the latest to realise the folly of trying to stop/censor any part of the network.

Round 3 Bet Free 6-6 is open, don't forget gentlemen!

https://sportsbet.io/sports/bet-free-6-6

21 in a group is going as well as could be expected. We have that great group with Netherlands, Ukraine...

I am more disappointed with over 11.5 in all groups. No way we are getting there in England group. They are my biggest disappointment of the tournament so far. One of the favourites should play better and much more attacking. Kane did not have a shot in 2 games. WTF? Go take tips from Italy and Belgium.

Even as round 2 was going on I was already prepared to get money back on all those specials; to be fair, most of them were not expected to hit anyway, but let's see if Spain/France/Germany can still remind us why they were the early tournament favourites (except England which I think is always because of bookie margins they totally don't deserve their odds). Group D now need to find a way to score 6 in their final game, so that alone should kill that special... but then we also have E and F who're competing to disappoint;)

Group A: 10
Group B: 9
Group C: 14
Group D: 6
Group E: 4 with 2 games in hand
Group F: 5 with 1 game in hand

I've actually been doing well with picks, problem for me is I've also been parlaying them with Copa and Asian games which keep losing me legs. That said, I've won back insurance almost every day now on the 5-legs, as EURO favs minus England have been showing up.
7637  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +62395 units on: June 19, 2021, 11:28:11 AM
I am very disappointed with England's performance. They were 2nd or 3rd favorite to take the EURO and they are playing like shit. Their wings are not allowed to go forward, they are playing with 2 defensive midfielders against teams like Scotland...Than Kane comes back to his own half to get the ball and England is left with just one action that looks dangerous. Long ball from mount behind defense and let Sterling run. Way too little for the squad Southgate has.

Scotland draw or handicap was a value bet and that was one of my parlay legs yesterday (ruined by Czech Republic not winning though haha). I know I could be saying this as a biased Liverpool fan but the way his team was set up felt like he forgot he doesn't have Trent feeding in crosses from the right flank.

They broke their group hoodoo this year by winning their first game (5D 4L in their previous 9 tournaments) but this is the familiar England I've always remembered in WC and EURO. Overhyped and blunt, can't even really showcase their supposed Premier League physicality.

I know they're still probably progress but you're right. He's got Sancho (16 goals, 20 assists last season) whom every bloody club wants NOT playing. You've got Grealish (6 goals, 10 assists but missed a lot of games and well, plays for Villa) who only got 30 mins yesterday. I think Foden's great, but time to switch it up or hell, throw them all on! At least for me fefinitely time to try one game without damned Sterling.
7638  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to 13k. FORECAST on: June 19, 2021, 10:21:35 AM
If the OP is really serious he should make an account on Deribit and buy the Dec 31 2021 $16000 PUT option. Currently this option costs 0.03BTC. around $1100. So if BTC goes to $12K anytime before the end of the year, that option will be worth at least $4000, most likely much higher due to the premium. So unless BTC is $12K on Dec 31 2021, it will be worth maybe $5-6K.

So with a $1100 investment the OP can easily 5-6x his money. And even if he is wrong and it goes to like $19K, he will still most likely double or triple his money. He can also buy the Sept 24 2021 $16000 Put for only $400 currently. So if it goes to $12K before Sept 24th, that option will be worth at least $4K so he will 10x his money.

Gotta confess I don't know much about options trading so this does sound like a good risk to reward ratio if your numbers work out. Definitely makes sense for these bear predictors and shorters to show off their put options. But since none, not even resident bear proudhon, do that, we all know it's not money where the mouth is, or that it's further reverse attempt FUD.

Just suddenly realise now this is probably why there's a lot of options demand from miners and such. Seems like a good hedge for such a small outlay. Always thought price had to hit for them on options.
7639  Economy / Speculation / Re: Number of transactions declining in last 2 months. on: June 19, 2021, 09:17:40 AM
Didn't notice it but I was expecting mempool to fill up after the last difficulty adjustment (13 or 14% was it?) but could still send 1 sat/byte txs and they went through fine.

Not sure if anyone mentioned, didn't scroll every page but maybe it's also layer2 eating up some of those txs? Lightning use with the Arnhem bitcoin city merchs have been slowly picking up after a huge drop during Covid lockdown (shops finally open again in past couple of weeks). Small nett effect I guess but maybe but that plays a role? Is it possible also more people sending each other on consumer apps that are off chain?
7640  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +62395 units on: June 19, 2021, 08:41:52 AM
Pah. Upsets did not happen, I almost thought Scotland might take it too, actually had more shots on goal than England and I think the 3 Lions will feel absolutely let down by their performance.

It's been pretty good for favourites so far and I made a mistake of parlaying too many other legs so:

100 units on France, Portugal, Spain to WIN @6.40. Other odds: 6.10
Units advantage: 30

Running advantage after 381 bets: +25,714 (+30)
