7641  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / BTC dominance decreasing. on: May 01, 2017, 06:47:32 AM
A couple of months back (March), I remember seeing bitcoin dominance about 85% when It comes to the market capitalization. Its currently 59.2% and probably will continue to decrease in the next a few days. Is this something to be worried about?

7642  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Alternative for brainwallet? on: May 01, 2017, 06:18:58 AM
Why the DIY when you can get a hardware wallet cheap?

I believe you already contributed to a thread I made about Ledger Nano S and the shipping issue I faced. Anyway, I'm not not looking for an alternative to make a brainwallet but instead, to be able to export private keys from other wallets using the seed (Electrum, Blockchain.info, Mycelium etc.)

Is it this one you're looking for?  http://bip32.org/

Its exactly the one, so It was BIP32 instead of BIP39 and that's why the website didn't work. I appreciate your help Smiley
7643  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: The easiness of creating a scam site on: April 30, 2017, 03:58:33 PM
You are basically saying that anyone who knows how to write basic HTML,CSS & JavaScript should be able to make a scam. That's somehow true but who's fault is it? It's the user who actually send the funds and don't use his brain, everyone knows that bitcoin is irreversible so you should always do your own research before sending anything to anyone. If only each user that find a new service, actually asks about it on the forums, I'd say that we could reduce scams by at least 80%
7644  Economy / Exchanges / Re: btc card on: April 30, 2017, 03:09:00 PM
A bitcoin ATM is not like normal ATMs, you don't need a card. You only need a phone wallet and you send funds to the ATM (when the ATM generate a QR-code), the ATM then give you the cash.
If the BTMs (Bitcoin ATM) are far away from you, then as I said, I suggest using Coinsbank or UQUID to order a card.
7645  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: pay724 on: April 30, 2017, 02:38:53 PM
I don't know about the service you mentioned and I never heard of it, the design isn't that good, only a few countries are supported, I don't suggest using it overall. If you want to recharge your phone then: https://en.bitrefill.com/
7646  Economy / Exchanges / Re: btc card on: April 30, 2017, 02:32:54 PM
Canada is full of ATMs[1], why not use an BTM directly instead of using a third party card provider which could mean more fees. You could use the ATM for both selling or buying bitcoin for cash. If you insist on getting a card then there is Coinsbank, Wirexapp, UQUID and many others, I recommend checking their official sites.

7647  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet on: April 30, 2017, 12:28:48 PM
I was on Telegram a few minutes ago, the SPV wallet is under development and people are testing it I believe. It should be available in the upcoming weeks probably. (We will no longer connect to Mycelium nodes anymore)
Will it be possible to choose where to connect to sync our wallet?

Yes, you will be able to connect to a server just like with Electrum using an IP address and a port. There will be another app to download I believe, that app will get executed when you run Mycelium.
7648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitfinex- bank blocked all their deposits on: April 30, 2017, 12:17:58 PM
Anything changed in the last a few days? because I see a huge trading volume with BTC/USD and other alts/USD. I believe that they never had a higher trading volume then they have right now so how is this possible If the accounts are freezed. and how come that they are the only one having 1410$ = 1BTC?
7649  Economy / Speculation / Re: [UPDATE] $1,400 HITTED (Next goal is $1,500) on: April 30, 2017, 10:26:22 AM
I updated the thread and i edit also the title. Well i'm happy that i see that bitcoin make new ATH price. And its nice to see that its now stable @$1400. Anyways its so sad that the others bictcoin the sell at $900 when the bitcoin price dump. I see that they thingking now why they sell it at dump

The fact that Bitfinex is having reaching +1400$ while other exchange are not at least 50-60$ away makes me think that we are getting close to another Mt.gox scenario, I wouldn't recommend anyone trading on that exchange. In other words, the price is still ~1350$ for me and Bitfinex price is not a standard.

Jprichardson who is the Co-founder of the wallet btw has already explained on why Its not open source (yet): https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/5q7wna/jaxx_and_exodus_wallets_are_closed_source_why/

7651  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Alternative for brainwallet? on: April 30, 2017, 08:53:54 AM
A secure brainwallet will be a software generated 24 random seed (BIP39), with paper copies as backup.

You can use a seed generated by a hardware wallet (e.g Trezor, Ledger Nano S).

Memorize the 24 words, and you have a brainwallet!

I was actually speaking about the service "brainwallet.org" which was closed by the owner and not about the type of wallet Itself. I know that a brainwallet generated by human is somehow weak compared to the software generated one. I'm only planning to use the site posted above for an easy export of private keys using the seed from different wallets (Electrum etc.).
7652  Economy / Securities / Re: Mycelium Crowdsale , Are you investing ? on: April 30, 2017, 08:48:13 AM
This looks like a scam?  Why no update?

I haven't looked into them in a while but the Mycelium team seemed very promising. I'll look into this.

Update: too late  Cry

Rassah who is the community manager I believe said that a press release should be out very soon as he will be speaking with CEO (not sure If its done or not yet).
As for the updates, they are now developing SPV wallets so you no longer connect to Mycelium nodes which I believe is a really good major update, they are currently testing the system. If you have questions then you can speak with the developers or managers here: https://t.me/MyceliumWallet

MU2 & Bitcache first product demo:

https://youtu.be/5HikmLbpqN4

I already posted the video on the thread linking to his tweet. It looks good but It definitely don't show enough details and he is planning to do the stuff he mentioned using bitcoin. A beta access for old premium users for example would be nice.
7654  Other / MultiBit / Re: Need help with Rubish Multibit HD wallet !!! money stuck, REWARD !!!!! on: April 29, 2017, 08:01:46 AM
"As I said in the post before"? what post is that as you only have 1 post in your profile. You don't have time to recover your wallet using the passphrase and you want someone to do it for you? It literally takes less time for you to recover it then writing this thread. I really won't recommend anyone dealing with this guy If it involves downloading some software as they could be malwares.
7655  Economy / Services / Re: [WTB] Virtual Private Phone Numbers on: April 29, 2017, 07:00:21 AM
Have you tried Dygits.io already? I believe they are still giving some free credits If you want to try them out (their thread are on this section). The countries that you could get a phone number from  are US/Canada/UK but more should come soon.
Yes I just dropped a message in their thread. However, they charge per sms that you receive which is bad and expensive.I'm waiting for them to get back to me.

They charge per SMS If you pay as you go, there is an alternative weekly/or monthly fee where you have unlimited texts and calls: https://www.dygits.io/rates/

7658  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: help uncomfirmed transaction blockchain on: April 28, 2017, 06:03:32 PM
It has nothing to do with the wallet you used as you can see there is many unconfirmation transactions[1] right now. I sent your TXID to ViaBTC accelerator. It shouldn't take long until your transaction gets confirmed.

7659  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your best strategy to determine if the coin will be profitable? on: April 28, 2017, 02:18:17 PM
Are we speaking about the pre-ICO phase? If that's the case then you can't really tell If the coin will be profitable but you will definitely know If the project is something serious and not a simple shitcoin made by scammers. You should always take a look at the team members, escrow, read the whitepaper and have an idea how things are going to work, how the coin is distributed among developers, community managers, investors etc.

If the coin is launched already (say you are a few months/1 year late) then you should check the previous achievements and roadmap and how active the development is. See MaidSafe for example, even though they didn't deliver the project yet, we see weekly development changes and the coin is on the top 10 because everyone knows that this team will eventually deliver and everything is on progress (Beta, alpha, Final release).
