PSG odds climbing every hour. It's now 5/1 to win and 7/1 to qualify. Some crazy boosts on bookies too, so I put quite a bit of money on PSG to win. They want this badly and they have to, and if they can find a way to replicate their 2nd leg turnarounds, I should be a happy guy tonight;) What do you think guys?

3-1 to PSG is 50/1 too, btw, so I put a teeny bet on that =D

Wolves, why couldn't you just hold on for a little while more eh? Dusseldorf took us home but relegation strugglers hit back after weathering a storm of 9 shots on goal from Wolves. Ah well;)

Boosted odds for PSG to win is 5/1, too good to ignore. So that's our pick for today. 100 units at Sportsbet on PSG to win @5.07. Other odds: 4.80

Units advantage: 27

Running advantage after 329 bets: +22,196 (+27)
All-time cumulative: +59,754
Running units after 328 bets (401W|277L): +11,788 (-100)

He is not just a goalscorer.. he has an aura around him..which defenders gravitate towards as he is such a scoring threat. Also, he creates goals out of nothing as well. If I had to compare current premier league strikers. I would say Harry Kane but Drogba is a lot more physical. Chelsea does miss that for quite some time. Giroud does the job pretty well but sometimes it doesnt feel like he's getting enough supply towards him.

Agreed, even if not a fan. My favourite Reds player of all time (again, very much a personal bias and because I played in his position) was Carragher and if there was one man Carra couldn't mark at all it was Drogba. Think he even said once he got nightmares from playing against him, so that's a huge nod of respect to the Ivorian Coast guy. I don't think any Chelsea or Liverpool fan will forget THAT goal he chested down while being marked, swivel and lash with weaker foot and goal. Carra just shrugged. Reina just shrugged. Impossible to defend.

It is a measure of a true supporter. You are cheering your favorite club no matter how good they are doing. And when you finally lift that silverware after waiting for 30 years, it gets so much sweater.

I can sort of relate in my local Croatian league. I am supporting my home club Rijeka, but Dinamo is the one lifting trophy every year. Then it was so much better when we finally took first spot in 2017. after Dinamo won 11 times in the row. That is only year Dinamo has not been the champion in the last 20 years. That being said I am not "die hard" type of supporter and I have no problem cheering Dinamo to do well in Europe but my heart is reserved for Rijeka in our local league.

Couldn't agree more. It does feel so so much sweeter after years of bitterness;)

I will always remember you and Rijeka, and I definitely can find the similarity with me and my local state league, which sadly, will probably never achieve anything in my lifetime. They never won the national league, they came second several times, but we have once won the national cup in my lifetime, the coach swore he would jump off a bridge into a river (we have crocodiles in our river haha) and when he did like the whole city jumped in too that was a grand memory.

I also attended a last final in 1999 (the last match in a stadium before they destroyed it) and that was also the last years we played with 2 other small countries who had Brazilian and European imports and we were 100% local team, short and tiny and smaller than the others -- we lost 1-2 but that was still one of my biggest memories.

Today we are now twice defunct, rebuilt each time because of lack of funds and corruption (and a stupid weed scandal that jailed the entire team I supported haha). Bottom of the last league so we can't even get relegated anymore.

But like you, I support the national team and the "super" team in AFC, even though never on a local rivalry.

Once the dust from the hype and overvaluation of vapourware (this time it will be so-called defi), we'll get back to solid basics.
Yes, something similar happen with ICOs in the past - people are too naive and have a short-term memory that will cost them dearly again in the end. When I just read how the OP thinks, then I can only conclude that some people have already drawn a thick end, and the game has not yet reached its peak.

It was pretty crazy in 2017/18, hard not to remember how people were literally talking with glazed-eyes about fantasy castles in the cloud. It's the very same look I see now on them videos of people gushing over just how amazing crypto and "DeFi" are -- these are smart people too, educated obviously, and yet duping themselves into ignoring how unsustainable the Utopias they talk about really are.

Like you said, they've already set their eyes on a strange beautiful horizon that only exists as a cyclical mirage they forgot they've seen before.
7646  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: May 03, 2021, 05:05:53 PM
Chelsea again sneakily have an outside chance of recreating what they remarkably did in 2012. They are again, least expected team to win the title and there is a good possibility that it could be an all english finals by the looks of things. They do not have Didier Drogba to perform miracles though.  Cant wait for the 2nd leg of the semifinals.

Not sure Drogba would have thrived in this era though, at least, not for the setup Chelsea have, and not for the opponents that face them now. But they surely miss the days of a robust, physical and direct goalscorer.

On the other end, I'm backing PSG to overturn the deficit but with Aguero seemingly back and ridiculously still goal-able, they're going to have to find a way to outSpurs City and score 3 or more goals it would seem.

7648  Economy / Speculation / Re: Another Halving, Another ATH on: May 03, 2021, 12:34:02 PM
Obviously, every halving and cycle won't be mirror images of each other and the way the alt markets react to Bitcoin won't always be exactly the same. Bitcoin holding sway over crypto hasn't changed, and we are already seeing some "solid" alts close to their 2018 peaks but every rally seems to purge out unfeasible coins and give birth to new contenders.

Definitely will see another strong halving event in 3 years amd I think it will see the same for the one after. People do need to be reminded of just how close we are to max supply... Once the dust from the hype and overvaluation of vapourware (this time it will be so-called defi), we'll get back to solid basics.
7649  Economy / Speculation / Re: May 13th, Bitcoin will surge to $70k or it will be dump? on: May 03, 2021, 11:08:02 AM
Can't find the topic now but about 2 weeks ago, I think someone was saying exactly the type of effect Alibaba might have should it truly decide to put even 1% of its capital into Bitcoin. Jack Ma's got almost the same sort of reverence and fandom that Tesla's man does. Perhaps not as global, but even if half of the country responds positively to Alibaba going into Bitcoin, it'd have some kind of magnitude.

Ma's rumoured to be under intense scrutiny from the CCP though...
7650  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: May 03, 2021, 09:31:44 AM
No!!! I can not fan a club who waited 30 years to win their first ever EPL title, the Liverpool and Manutd rivalry was gone for about 2 decades it was all Chelsea vs Manutd thing, both clubs were the ones fighting for the EPL title before Man City joined the party. Liverpool woke up 3 years ago. I support one the best club in London... Chelsea.
Indeed, it takes some character to be a supporter of a club starved of so much success. If you can wait your entire life and finish 2nd many times, or if you can survive even Spurs' heartache of being second best and never taste first, then you are a true blood, I say. Being a Red is not for the faint-hearted!

All four selections hit on this week's multi magic Shocked and I completely forgot about it but congrats to those who got in to Steve's weekly multi.  Cheesy

I didn't forget at all. Was happy to get this one in, never miss a week as far as I recall. A very good 5.5 return and a pretty solid selection in the end to put in the London clubs who had in all fairness, very easy wins.

Utd/Liv match was called off so I'm scrapping all of these from yesterday, will return them if bets aren't voided when the new date for the game is decided. Barca last min bet was ill-advised ha!

Returning to Prem League, I'll take a Wolves away win and pair it with Bundesliga 2.

7652  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mixers under the threat? on: May 02, 2021, 06:56:29 PM
It was a matter of time to see this happens. I always asked myself how those services can be legal because any under who sends their coins to mixing services is because he has something to hide...
That's my take on the issue of using mixer too, I think that there is no other reasons besides doing something shady even if they say that it is for privacy, how private do you want your shit to be? Bitcoin is pseudonymous enough for someone to not get tracked online.

I don't want to be the fanboy but you might want to read up on privacy (hey maybe even the Cypherpunk Manifesto or the one from ProjectVRM) then perhaps you might gain insight and perspective on why some people believe that protecting your privacy goes beyond your rights, but is in fact, your duty to yourself and to society.

I don't need to hide a lot of things myself, and choose deliberately not to, for purposes of obeying the laws of the jurisdiction I reside in.

But I also choose deliberately to keep private some things I don't want the whole world to know.

Privacy isn't secrecy.
7653  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: May 02, 2021, 04:46:51 PM
Game's called off, confirmed now. Can't see anything from broadcasters here but statement from MUFC confirms a postponement with more details to follow.

I say fan power, so yeah, disappointed there's no game, but some people need to be reminded football isn't confined to the boardroom and to the puppeteering of suits and ties.

Ah well, I get all my bets back I guess. Wondering what happens to Freebets though, I put a whole load on them on Liverpool parlays =D

7654  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Welcome back to the Premier League- Watford FC!! 🚀 on: May 02, 2021, 04:19:55 PM
I think its all or nothing for Liverpool. United will not be at the best with the Europa game they had and the amount of energy they had to put after in second half to make comeback against Roma. Liverpool will have good advantage going into this match but that not necessarily means they will win this for sure. They still have chance so why not play out the best for the remainder of the fixtures and secure CL spot. At least go down with a fight kno? who knows maybe they are able to secure in the end with slightest margins.

Don't know about that. the game was 3 days ago, plenty of time to rest, really, and if I were them, I'd be pumped full of adrenaline and energy. Those kinds of big wins are psychological Red Bull. It's negligible advantage, except perhaps without the pressure to perform at Anfield, we should be freer to explore options and be more daring.

Like I said, we ought to give it a good fight. A win is the least to expect. Also, it'll secure City's title and hopefully give them a "rest on laurels" effect so they KO against PSG haha.

Meanwhile, fan protests are delaying the game. Wish I could see it instead of replays as my provider's doing!
7655  Economy / Speculation / Re: How risky do you feel investing in Bitcoin is in this point of time? on: May 02, 2021, 02:33:36 PM
Not really that risky. Especially when you're planning a long term holding/investment in Bitcoin.
As you can see, there are still a lot of bullish predictions and news about Bitcoin reaching 6 digit figures and even 7 digit figure.
Some might think just like you where Bitcoin might be on the verge of falling just because it has rapidly grow since last year.

Imo, Bitcoin is far from the peak and not much to worry about If you're holding for long term.

Think it's really important for people to identify the risks they're willing to take first, before identifying the asset or type of investment they're looking to gain exposure in.

I probably approached it from the wrong angle when I started out. Bitcoin was an experiment for me, but I risked a bit more than I should have by trying to switch entirely, I was lucky it worked out but even now with Bitcoin seeming less risky and more stable, I'm actually trying to reduce my risk by saving some in more traditional means... that may mean being as creative as setting up more pensions funds for other members of family, life insurance payments, etc.

It's much easier if you only live on your own and have no dependents. If that were my situation, I'd probably go 99% into Bitcoin for the long term and still cover my ass with some life insurance plans.

It couldn't have been any other match! Blackjack soccer is live now and it's the most watched fixture in the English Premier League:

Manchester United vs Liverpool.
https://sportsbet.io/sports/event/sportsbet-specials/daily-specials/soccer-blackjack/manchester-united-fc-liverpool-fc-608e5554aa5783f281267813

Unfortunately, this fixture doesn't always have fireworks but I will always remember the 4-1 Gerrard-kissing-the-camera game and let's hope we have another cracker like that, eh guys?

Only thing I'll watch today with no distractions;)

Damn LTU, in my old age my memory has really really played tricks on my mind. I just looked at the Copa pool and I saw my name there, but could have sworn I don't remember much about it at all until reading through the thread. And yes of course it was World Cup, not anything else, since we only started the pool things in 2018. Those were the days, so long ago haha:) Pretty cool it lasted so long, let's see if Serie A and La Liga pools can continue to grow in popularity too!
7658  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: May 02, 2021, 11:55:54 AM
@arallmuus @icopress Yep, Europa is United's to lose. I'm betting on whoever progresses on the other end of course. Can't stand United winning... sorry Red Devils.
I thought I was the only one who hate man utd with everything I've got. They've proceeded from the semi-final to the final all thanks to Roma Inconsistency, I'd rather see Villareal clinch the title than watching Manutd lifting it and I wouldn't want them to play Arsenal in the Final either, they are the worse club in London, they've been 10th in the league since Michael el faraday died from electric shock. Pathetic club.

I think if you're a Liverpool supporter, then you are by default set up to hate United. Fairplay to them for knocking us off our perch in the 1990s but let me assure you, seeing them lift trophies is every bit as painful as not winning one ourselves. And while it's nice to rub it in the faces of our Merseyside rivals when we lift trophies, it's personally sweeter for me to see the rubbish coming out of United fans when we win =D

I know it's all good fun and banter in the end but where I come from, you can almost kind of stereotype the person from the team they support -- and I grew up in the era of United dominance, from the Treble era... and of course Arsenal, and then later Chelsea and City, Galacticos etc. Liverpool weren't as "vogue" but I agree. This season, Utd did have quite good luck with Europa and should really not have had such an easy time against Roma.
7659  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Welcome back to the Premier League- Watford FC!! 🚀 on: May 02, 2021, 10:51:30 AM
Which is why it always becomes a bit of a challenge for me to know who will be drafted where since it is not really that much of a deal for me so I just randomize these things. I do the same for NBA drafts as well, unless there is a generational talent level player, I rarely ever hear them beforehand.

I'm curious now to know also if the sport has the same kind of rules elsewhere in the world where it is played (Canada and Mexico I know also play it, but strangely if you look it up online, not much is said about Mexican rules). Do they also do a draft or do they even use the same formats? I always thought it a little weird we have those baseball for example very popular in the far east (but understandable given the N American influence over there) but American football itself hasn't taken roots the way rugby has (I mean, Japan seems to have a league but I've not met a single person from there who's played it).

Morning guys, it’s Man Utd vs Liverpool today. Normally I’d be confident of my boys LFC getting a good result here but I have to say, not feeling it today. I’m predicting a Man Utd win unless they rest players due to their EL semi final 2nd leg against Roma.

Prediction Man Utd 2-0 LFC

I put a ridiculously big bet (by standards of what I generally bet anyway) on LFC today... against my own judgment. I'm hoping our boys will be fired up for this one because if beating United doesn't stir up fire in them, we really don't deserve Champions League or even Europa.
7660  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +59422 units on: May 02, 2021, 09:35:56 AM
Never bet on your own team when you know it's up against a team that has better form and better chances to win. Right now, United's form is on fire. Winning every game, drawing maybe one. Liverpool slipping up time and again.

But away, bookies have them as the very slight favourites.

Less value, but I'm a dumb guy, so a 500 unit ML bet at Fairlay on Liverpool to WIN @2.58. Other odds: 2.46
Units advantage: 12x5 = 60

And let's do a Super Boost 100 units at Sportsbet on correct score 1-2 @11.28. Other odds: 9.20
Units advantage: 192

Edit: bets are off. Match got cancelled. Let's be mean and do another bet against Barca, shall we? It's HT now, 0-0, and I took Valencia at 95/10 with Super Boost at Sportsbet. It's actually 12/10 now if you want to take live;) Bet ID: 608ef6824219f71998bcac78
No units advantage. I'll do all calculations tomorrow!

Eh Wow, not long after as I posted this. Valencia scored. 49th mins haha. You missed it guys =p

And then of course Messi hits back, RIP my underdog.
