7661  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Would you like to tip the electrum server in a transaction? on: March 04, 2015, 04:45:18 PM
I am looking to work on a small addon to Electrum just to learn the client. I need something cool to do.

Would you be interested in a new field, similar to the "fee" field, but instead tips the electrum server which you are currently using?
that is an awesome idea. if you can associate the donation field's bitcoin address to the bitcoin address of the current server that the client is connected to, it is going to be awesome.
7662  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Interesting thing/idea, what are your thoughts? on: March 04, 2015, 12:54:21 PM
My Idea.
It would be great, if there would exist a platform that would calculate which is the best exchange to buy bitcoins...

Already exists.

i think it is a cool idea. can you give a link to this platform? is it something like an exchanger or a bot?
7663  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How many confirmations does it take to verify the deposit? on: March 04, 2015, 12:52:06 PM

only one conformation is enough. but depending on the amount and the service you might use, they sometimes require more confirmation upto 5 times
7664  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the best Cloud mining Site? on: March 04, 2015, 12:50:07 PM
check out ▁ ▂ ▄ ▅ ▆ Cloudmining 101 (ponzi risk assessment) ▆ ▅ ▄ ▂ ▁
it is a nice compilation of services with information on how much they are trusted.
i have used CEX.IO so far and it was good but stopped using it since they paused their services due to not being profitable
7665  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTCTT - Easy step-by-step guide to Free Bitcoin, Altcoins and Mining/Folding on: March 04, 2015, 12:42:55 PM
Thanks for all the replies

1) Exchanges are okay to keep a few satoshis (but I have updated "Step one" to make it clearer)
2) Faucets are one way to get a few satoshis quickly... I personally prefer playing games (Step three)

You need 0.5usd to start using Quatloo Trader so doing faucets and playing games in 2 days you should have enough to get access to the software.

Then you can start trading and see if you want to invest some real cash.

Bitcoins is a risky investment. People should not buy to invest, I think they should use it as a payment system. Unless they want to learn about trading.

i kinda get your point. i think it is better to make a wallet on a trusted exchanger to receive all those small amounts of satoshi or dusts created by faucets and games, ... so that you don't have to deal with it.
but after that it is best to go to a decent wallet instead
7666  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: bitcoin security when mining is over on: March 04, 2015, 12:35:27 PM
Hi all,

A bit new to this bitcoin currency, but already in love with it ^^
If my understanding is correct the security of the network is insured by millions of computers all over the world solving complex mathematical equations.
Those calculations are rewarded by mining. A computer that help securising the network is rewarded this way.

My question is, what will happen after all bitcoins are mined? or when it is no more profitable to keep mining? Who will ensure the security of the network then?

Thank you.  Smiley
block rewards will never end. in other words all bitcoins will never be mined since the reward halves every certain number of blocks. also you forgot about the transaction fees. in the future it might be increased to cover the mining costs.
7667  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I want to invest on: March 04, 2015, 12:33:12 PM
If I were you not invest everything only once.  Invest gradually
exactly, it is always better to buy little by little and at low price points and when you are sure that it will rise again. also never invest more that you can afford to lose
7668  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My first Bitcoin , what now ? on: March 04, 2015, 07:53:41 AM
i say keep your bitcoin as long as you can and don't need it. i think the price is going up in a couple of months. besides you can always spend $$ to buy stuff.
and IF you are good at trading you can do that to increase your BTC, and not let it just sit around in your wallet
7669  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Is The Media's Effect To Bitcoin? on: March 04, 2015, 07:46:45 AM
well the biggest effect on bitcoin comes from social medias. but keep in mind that not all of them are positive. take this forum for example, every day you can see a now topic or and old one come up with a subject about bitcoin dying.
7670  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin on wall street journal font page on: March 04, 2015, 07:44:09 AM
i think it is a good news. actually it is big. if this can attract more fiat to bitcoin, and more popularity it is going to be great for whole crypto world. and eventually it is gonna fix the volatile price problem
7671  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Sending without transactionn fees on: March 04, 2015, 07:41:37 AM
Hello,
I read many things about transfees(not be included in a block)
Any I saw many transactions without fees and still getting confirmed.
How is that possible and how can I actually do it?
i found out that it is possible to send a transaction without any fees but in fact changing the fees depend on your wallet!
my experience is if you are using blockchain.info you can easily change it to zero and send it if it is not confirmed within 2 days it will be rebroadcasted automatically until it gets confirmed.
if you are using Multibit or Electrum the only way to change the fee is to change the coding and compile the wallet again!
7672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where Will Bitcoin Be In 2 Years? on: March 04, 2015, 07:36:27 AM
i think bitcoins future is bright. with all the good news we are hearing everyday it is going to become more and more popular and as a result the price will go up too.
7673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do boys use bitcoin? on: March 04, 2015, 07:33:47 AM
the question is can we buy porn with alt coins ? sure

www.wankcoin.com

pick your fancy Lmao
that is so funny. but in fact it is a nice idea to have a dedicated coin for buying porn. and the whole idea about being anonymous is going to be pretty useful Cheesy
7674  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase CEO: bitcoin is far ahead! Altcoins are distractions! on: March 04, 2015, 07:00:21 AM
Altcoins are basically useless except for demonstrating/testing out new ideas or perhaps as a fork if Bitcoin got too corrupted.
at this moment, the only use any altcoin out there has is just to put money in a few people's pockets. if you see the price change of any altcoin, you can see lots and lots of pumps and dumps which a few people are getting rich by.
7675  Economy / Speculation / Re: Happy Days Are Here Again, BTC UP, UP, UP ... on: March 04, 2015, 06:58:31 AM
when i saw the $160 and mostly price around $200 ± 10 i knew it is the lowest price that it is gonna get. and i think it is lifting up again the question is how much and when its gonna run out of steam again
7676  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin and Altcoin price related? on: March 04, 2015, 06:55:52 AM
you have to specify which altcoin you mean. some of them are, the famous ones specially the ones that are traded against dollar are related with the bitcoin price but any other altcoin's price is only affected by pump and dump.
7677  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin v. Bitcoin on: March 04, 2015, 06:53:07 AM
i don't see any use for any other cryptocurrency other than bitcoin. the only thing that might be useful about altcoins is trading and only if you can gain profit from it, thats all
7678  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you buy Bitcoin within the next three months? on: March 04, 2015, 06:49:45 AM
i don't think i will buy any more since the price is going up. i have bought whatever amount i wanted to and saved up when the price was low
7679  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Free BTC Methods on: March 04, 2015, 06:28:56 AM
What are your best methods?

if you want free BTC you have to find giveaways, and you are not gonna find any on bitcoin maybe you can find some altcoin giveaways, and exchange them into bitcoin.
7680  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can Bitcoin fail? on: February 22, 2015, 07:14:58 AM
Sorry for my ignorance, but I really don't understand how Bitcoin can fail.
If there is a limit of 21 million Bitcoins that will ever be made won't it just increase as people can't get it anyway else than trading?
From how I see it, the worst thing that can happen is that it gets the same standards as gold.

Please tell me what you think Smiley
you are not considering the numbers after decimal point. if the price goes up 1 satoshi will worth more than what it does now, so it really is more than 21 million btc
