7681  Economy / Speculation / Re: Winter is here.... on: May 21, 2021, 05:58:56 AM
Actually, you don't lose money in winter. Certainly not ALL your money. You lose it following the last bits of a bull run expecting to cash out at the tail, not knowing you got in at the tail. Besides, if you're an accumulator and investor, you simply wait for the next rally, that's all.

Speculators win at all times, arguably even more in winter. Until they lose, that is.

Ouchie on the first leg. Took a bit of bad luck to lose though, as Tranmere dominated the first half, not sure what went wrong in the second. Not that it'd have made a difference anyway as Boca Jrs also drew, unable to score.

Romford Pele and his Guiness drinking heroics haha. Man this guy was really one of the last old schoolers to straddle the century between Spice Boys and scientific approach Wenger. Hard, frill free, no nonsense, I always had a soft spot for guys like him, as I'm kinda of a skillless player with no style and glam, all due respect Ray, haha.

Awesome promo, Steve and gang. Be prepared for site crashes when the Gunners fans from my era stop by heh

7684  Economy / Speculation / Re: How low can the next bear market go? on: May 20, 2021, 01:10:55 PM
Not to say I wasn't slightly worried over yesterday but yeah, actually, the pullbacks of 2017 ( wasn't around to wirness anything in the previous cycle) was probably a lot more nervy. Even last year's March event still pretty fresh in my mind.

Yesterday really didn't feel that bad at all in comparison. Maybe it's just a case of getting used to it (which isn't necessarily a good thing for everyone but for my perspective quite useful) but I almost feel like I'm quite ready for more. Heart's a bit stronger than I thought heh.

And really, 62k. That's still way too small for Bitcoin to be done haha.
7685  Economy / Speculation / Re: FUDS are big Confirmations that were in a Bull Market!!!!!! on: May 20, 2021, 10:45:06 AM
It did drop down to $29500. A great buy the mofo dip opportunity if you believe prices will recover back to above $42k and stay above there for a few weeks at least otherwise we be visiting $30k again.

Would definitely have done so were I a trader/buyer. Then again, I'd probably be buying every dip en route to that but phew, 30% insta gains for whomever got in on limit orders just past 30k. Have a feeling it won't be the last we're seeing this month or even next, but ready to be surprised again. It's got to no longer be a coincidence China is in the news every cycle hm? Money on Jack Ma involvement down the line now;)

Thank you Spurs. I do feel bad for you, but with the way you're playing, it's just impossible not to bet against you, plus Villa were actually well worth their win. Ollie Watkins, wow. Hope your Brentford guys come join us in EPL next season.

A bit of a form bet tonight, Argentinian and English lower leagues, thin today!

Oi oi oi! That was some crazy end to the game, Martinelli saved my parlays today and then Pepe topped it up with another goal... 3 shots, 3 goals, let it not be said the Gunners were profligate tonight damn!

Anyway, a consecutive push at 20, was willing for some foul or fight or something how I miss Luiz something ha;) But man, how close have we come eh guys, phew!

7690  Economy / Speculation / Re: FUDS are big Confirmations that were in a Bull Market!!!!!! on: May 19, 2021, 04:30:12 PM
So there the bounce happens right now. Was actually preparing myself to see sub 30k but the crash didn't have much legs. Too much to hope for a 45k recovery by Friday?

And if the thread's title stands true, then all this FUD should really pop the pressure on the champagne bottle en route to $100k by end of the year, right boys? Ha ha.

FUD on, gentlemen.
7691  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Massive de-leveraging event? on: May 19, 2021, 01:12:53 PM
We probably won't see those 80% corrections anymore.

Most traders speculate that worst case scenario for Bitcoin at this point would be a fall to 20 thousand, which would still mean a 2x yearly gain compared to 2020 average and 4x compared to the low of 2020. That's a great gain if you ask me, even if you're a lagging trader who bought in 2020 and happens to sell at the bottom of 2021.
To get something like that in stocks, buying google, amazon, apple, you need to wait three times longer.

More like 5 times the 2020 low, still very fresh memories of price falling below $4000 in March, but yeah, I'd be very happy if that's our low. Bitcoin has never actually dipped below an old ATH once it breaks past it, has it? Not sure what significance it would have if it actually happens this time around.

Still a great gain, and still means plenty more time for us stragglers (relatively) to improve our positions.

P.S. Crazy market right now. We're at 50% of ATH;)
7692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion & Betting] Eurovision Song Contest 2021 on: May 19, 2021, 12:29:51 PM
AFAIK results haven't been published anywhere yet. 11th was just the running order of Belgium on stage, they necessarily finished at a better place than that, because they are among the 10 winners of the semi-final.
5th for Malta, I don't know what is it though, maybe it's a result from a poll?
I'm from France.

Ah, okay. So the order they were announced isn't their actual placing, I got it then. Malta was the 5th announced and Belgium the 9th, not the 11th as I mentioned (my apologies, I got mixed up).

Now I'm reading up and it's not clear to me when or how they announce SF 1 winners or SF 2 even. Everything I find online is just guidance on progression to Grand Final and jury + audience voting.

Yes, not exactly a Eurovision virgin here but this is still only my second (half-voluntary) rodeo;)

7693  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io "Soccer Blackjack" @ 21.00 odds on: May 19, 2021, 12:08:29 PM
Total points : 20. It was 7 yellow cards instead of 6 but one of the player wasnt on the field so it wasnt counted. I think we had one game similar with this before, too bad though this is pretty close

Actually, this is the third time we've scored 20 points because of cards for players/staff on the bench;) It feels like a strange stat for me, but since I never really paid attention, I wonder now if this is more common and if there are markets for booking points for non-fielded players and staff;)

To be fair, we should have been busted. There was a "fight" in minute 93 where only that one player on the bench got yellow. I expected at least 2 more and was very surprised Mike Dean did not punish some more players. Maybe it was because half of the players on the pitch got involved and he did not want to dish that many yellows but Rudiger and a guy who made the tackle should have gotten yellow cards for sure.

And I thought this would be a game of about 10 points, just shows that it is better to not listen to my predictions Smiley

Agree here. If there would have been a booking moment there, it would/should have been 1 card a piece for 2 players. But I think Smith got it right there, just a warning to teams, bookable offence for an instigator (he also got carded in the reverse fixture for riling players up too).

I will now bet against your predictions. Give me an acca please;)
7694  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +62021 units on: May 19, 2021, 09:11:28 AM
Brighton actually won, but the odds were not nice at all at 5/1, though I wonder which brave fan would have backed their team live after going down 0-2? Should have been a tasty comeback win. Good for them!

We do another simple Spurs upset tonight, to fire them up for a win against Leicester eh? Wink I took bets and saw odds improve, but I'll take the hit!

7695  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion & Betting] Eurovision Song Contest 2021 on: May 19, 2021, 07:23:32 AM
Put in my bets at Belgium 41/1 and Russia 23/1.

Is that for Top3 ? Then those are nice odds Grin You can get Belgium @700 and Russia @80 to win^^

It's for Semifinal 1 winner, so, was not really good odds I guess haha. Which other sportsbook offers these lines right now, do you know? Fairlay and Sportsbet the only ones I looked. Stake doesn't let me play anymore.

Malta only got 5th though;) Belgium made it 11th haha.

I also took now a Belgium top 5 at 17/1, which I guess isn't very good, but I'm too lazy to find a book and deposit right now so close to end of season, unless it's one I already maybe have an account on =D

@Saint-loup which country are you from?
7696  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: May 18, 2021, 06:06:59 PM
Placed a bet against two of the underdogs today and avoided Brighton (ridiculously low odds) so very good as they just conceded a 2nd-minute goal to City (much lol).

Fulham 8/1 which looks like it'll lose, Leicester 5/1 I don't mind a draw. And really, that's it for me today. Best scenario Chelsea/Leicester would be a red card or two to suspend key players for the remainder of their games haha. That's so mean I know.

They will probably get relegated at the end of this season.

You really haven't been following the league at all, have you?
7697  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion & Betting] Eurovision Song Contest 2021 on: May 18, 2021, 02:01:07 PM
Hey guys, ty;) I did not really remember about this contest, but I'm watching because a band I actually really liked since the 1990s are representing Belgium: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EQyG1Yjlgw

Totally nostalgia here of course, just me throwing money at sentiment =D I don't even know what's good value but from what little I know, SMS voting is what wins most teams at the end of the day right?

Put in my bets at Belgium 41/1 and Russia 23/1. Malta should definitely get this on popular vote alone haha. GL ty!
7698  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Satoshi set the total supply of bitcoins to 21 Million" is nonsense on: May 18, 2021, 12:57:04 PM
Pedantry can get confusing for those not willing or not able (like me) to get full-assed about it.

I honestly don't know why it's a bother to say there is a limit of 21m that will ever be produced (as a consequence of halving), agree that there are more accurate ways to say it, but we would then have to go through almost every other way we refer to Bitcoin use and rephrase them... we could get really pedantic over how we're not really sending any actual Bitcoin when we spend them, for example (but really, that's accurate enough to say, isn't it?).
7699  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will not be able to stay above $50k for 10 consecutive days ever again on: May 18, 2021, 11:03:17 AM
OP can you please not make this so hard on yourself and so easy for us? It's not fun for me if you're not even giving yourself a decent chance. 50k for 10 days is nothing; patience, before pulling the trigger.

I hope this pans out like all your other "easy calls". $50k is overrated anyway. $100k is what the cool kids are aiming for.

I'm touched to learn I'm a cool kid at odd moments throughout the day.
7700  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: EFL English Championship League Thread on: May 18, 2021, 10:35:11 AM
I included Swansea and Brentford in my picks yesterday but it was Bournemouth that went through, I couldn't imagine how heartbroken Brentford were last season missing out when they lost their last 2 games and fell in the playoffs and I really wanted them in but it's not over yet of course, slim margins from both first legs so we still get to see them fight again.

Bournemouth were cool during the time they were up, but I'd really like to see fresh fresh blood. Nice to see Ollie Watkins but I do feel bad seeing Brentford's stars getting picked off every time. Why do they fall apart late season I wonder grr.
