7701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin adoption: Don't just sit down, do something on: February 17, 2019, 11:08:14 PM
Am really trying to see that happen. i have a shop and it is boldly written there{ pay in bitcoin and ethereum} and so far just two has paid in bitcoin and one person in ethereum .

You doing great, some scarify have to be made for success to be achieved. You might not be recognized globally but if you can achieve that recognition in your local community you have contributed positively towards the success of the use of bitcoin as a currency.

Lets fast forward to the 70's, 80's and 90's looking at the innovations that shaped our world as we have it today. We all know farming was a major motivation but it doesn't stop there, what other innovation or technology changed the world more?.
7703  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Struggling for merits? I can empathise on: February 17, 2019, 05:14:40 PM
Congratulations on your achievement, you just joined LoyceV, DdmrDdmr and few other that have earned 1000+merits club. Lower rank users won't understand that the pressure it even much on higher rank users to earn merit because the higher your rank, the lesser your chances of getting merited unless you're lucky to get a fan based (make new friends) that rewarded you previously for your quality posting because most meriters are concentrating on lower rank users to rank them up.

From my merit stats on So.... on which board did you earn most of your Merit? you'll notice B&H is my strong hold for earning merits due to started thread but of recent I have slow down taking my mind off starting any thread on this board and contributing/help newbies when necessary. I'm trying to explore other means of using this forum I feel there's more to Bitcointalk than just commenting on threads.

7705  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: New Scam Through Escrow Services !!! on: February 17, 2019, 10:04:15 AM
This is the reason all users who're interested in using this forum for trade are advice to always carry out your transaction openly were everyone can see your chat (with exception to sensitive informations) don't use PM or go off forum always carryout all transactions and discussion via thread so in case there's a scam attempt experience users can warn you before you fall victim. TS {Thread starter} thanks for the information and i'm glad you didn't fall prey.

Can you possibly get that scammers profile so he can get red tagged as i notice he was trying to impersonate monbux

Warning sent out on his ANN thread:

7706  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2018-2019 on: February 17, 2019, 03:55:39 AM
Most of The UEFA campions league games are just getting boring since they repeat feature almost every season. We all know Barcelona is going to win Lyon due to previous record and Barca recent form. Don't think I'm going to watch that match but I love rooting for the underdogs so this season I go for a win for Lyon maybe this will be the time they finally win Barca and home advantage might be in their favour so I predict 3-2 in favor of Lyon.
7707  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcoin Mining section, over moderated on: February 17, 2019, 03:38:50 AM
Isn't that a good thing if the board is under serious moderation? At least we still have one of the few boards,  quality conversation can be associated with. The strict moderation is driving away spammers and scammers and  other moderators should make the boards they're moderatoring more spam free as the mining board is. Instead of complaining lets encourage them they're doing their jobs well.
7708  Other / Meta / Re: Merit number indicator on showPost list ? on: February 17, 2019, 03:26:28 AM
It all comes down to the campaign in question. When participants post in local boards it serves as a bonus to most campaign and that's why they don't count those posts unless the campaign is targeting audience form that local board. When it comes to most local board I don't think merit is truly been used as it was supposed to be used. most post you see get merit isn't actually worth that merit or that amount of merit it's getting. (Merit abuser Thread is what I use to back this accusations because most of then comes from local boards)

I would had agreed to the idea as this will also make merit abusers hunters job easy but again it'll lead to laziness of many bounty managers, counting such post (because it was merited) as a quality post without knowing that it was a shitpost hiding in disguise.
7709  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Visa and Mastercard decided to increase their Fees. And there is nothing y can do on: February 16, 2019, 07:02:23 AM
Don't say there is nothing we can do when actually we can do something. Their customers or we'll Stop using their services. I don't know of the US but we have alternative card Network provides in my country and again we have bitcoin and altcoins so I won't say we're totally hopeless
7710  Economy / Reputation / Re: Fake rating of ICObench. Misleading investors. on: February 16, 2019, 06:04:34 AM

However, I think they have more representative on this forum. Please reply here with username if you found. I am going to tag them, I want to know opinions from othere DT members.

I'm not a DT member but I have something to say. Any investor relying on these raking or rating site for guidance on investing in icos are doing themselves more hard than good. Just like the so called crypto experts (influencers) on YouTube and Twitter these site are fraud because they get paid for better rating.

That been said, If a rating site have been found guilty for giving attractive rating for clear cases of scams project in different occasions then their account deserve to be tagged because they're supporting scam project. Remember we decided, users wearing signature or promoting scam projects will be tagged if caught therefore I see no reason why rating sites shouldn't be tagged
7711  Other / Meta / Re: Why is it so hard to start community projects in the Bitcoin Talk forum. on: February 16, 2019, 05:49:29 AM
I guess we are much diverse and very few active members.  Each user have different hobby and interest so it become somewhat difficult to get the group of like minded people.

That's true although sometimes it isn't the faults of the forum users but that of the community project developers must of them starting this projects has alternative motives while others don't follow up the project and lack of advertising (creating awareness) is the cause of the low turnout or people leaving the project.
7712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Favoritism vs Addiction on: February 16, 2019, 05:29:11 AM
Am not really a full time gambler but I'm a player, and if gamblers are addicted they'll have some favorite games to play, then what about the player who has also their favorite games can we really tell that they're also addicted to that certain game?

Since we're debating on players would have favorite game and gamblers here's my contribution. The average gambler can have a favorite game without been addicted could be s/he just love gambling with that game but in the case of an addicted gambler, it's a must to have a favorite game you waste all your money on even though you win or lose.
7713  Other / Politics & Society / Let's discuss Nigeria presidential election hoding tomorrow (saturday 16/02/19) on: February 15, 2019, 09:06:04 PM
Breaking News: The election has been postponed to 23rd February 2019

Goodness everyone, tomorrow 16/02/2019 is the D-Day for Nigerians to decide for their next president to lead them for the next four years. When we talk about democracy globally Nigeria isn't there yet but in Africa I think we're leading. You Know what's funny we have over 20+ active candidate running for the office of the president but majority knows the race is between just two parties (2 candidates)

Here they're

Since the Nigeria election is tomorrow and from my previous threads i notice we have a lot of Nigerians, Africans and other users interested in the continents disscussions I thought about starting this discussion.

What do you think will be the outcome of tomorrow's election, will the election be free and fair, who do you think will win?.
7714  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is your take on crypto robots? on: February 15, 2019, 08:39:00 PM
These days in cryptocurrency is hard to differentiate the real trading bot from fake ones so I try to avoid scam especially those bot that are hyped by the so called Twitter crypto experts by not involving myself in any form of bot trading and trade by myself. Not that active in trading so this isn't affecting me that much. My take on it is, no matter how legitimate it may seem I don't fancy the idea so I stay away from them.
7715  Economy / Reputation / Re: So.... on which board did you earn most of your Merit? on: February 15, 2019, 05:27:53 AM
CryptopreneurBrainboss asked me this in another topic:
LoyceV can we get a merit stats on boards we received merits from something like Bitcoin discussion = 50meits Meta = 100merits. You can start a thread like this one where users request for it
This topic is the result.

Sorry i didn't thank you earlier, I wanted to earn some merit so I can +1 you for your effort, Done. I also knew other forum users would be interested in getting their stats that's why I gave the suggestion of making a thread instead of just asking for only mine through PM. So beginner and Help board is my strong ground, Thank you.
7716  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any valid reason to continue gambling? on: February 15, 2019, 04:51:10 AM
As the title itself, I’m thinking about the valid reason why gamblers continue to gamble even if they are losing a lot of money. Is it hard to understand that gambling will just make your money lose if you still continue?

Pasts and present successful stories are the reason people can't stop gambling. They always believe there's a possibility of then becoming successful at it when others are achieving success too. Gambling make it look easy to become rich that's why most people can't resist the temptation of gambling even when they know the chances of losing is very high.
7717  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The used of Bitcoin in Africa on: February 15, 2019, 04:45:32 AM
Truth be told, in Africa we see bitcoin as an investment rather than as a medium of payment. So, we acquire it and then wait awhile to resell it like a real estate. In Nigeria, I am yet to see any shop accepting Bitcoin for payment.

That's why investment and trading is the number way and most famous way Bitcoin is been used in Africa. About the stores, I believe you're taking about physical stores because if you meant online stores then you aren't updated. I have shopped severally frim both Nigerin stores and African stores accepting Bitcoin. The government of the day aren't in support of cryptocurrency yet that's why we don't have any physical store accepting Bitcoin. Everything bitcoin is used for in the country isn't official.
7718  Other / Meta / Re: Discussion about acceptable and unacceptable behavior. Community values. DT on: February 14, 2019, 09:58:19 PM
Guys, who can tell how people involved in escrow find customers if they do not already have a track record? Do they first participate in simple transactions on the forum, receive positive feedback in this way and then offer deposit services?

Offering escrow without a track record

If you want to offer the escrow service, you must first prove you can be trusted by having a track record of successful transaction from previous trade. This doesn't mean if you want to offer escrow service you should go around forum participating in trade just to get positive trust (gain reputation) doing so might attract red tag.
Unacceptable behavior that will result in a red tag:
Lending or borrowing to gain "reputation"

When it says have good track record here's a possible guess,
You'd have to do other activities that would make you deemed trustworthy by someone. Then that person would approach you to act as an escrow for them. Then if you did a good job for them, they would recommend you to other people. After a while, you would have a good track record and have many to vouch for you. At that point, you can offer it yourself. That's my guess, at least. It kinda has to drop in your lap, at first.

Offering escrow service means you're officially announcing your availability to hold fund for large number of users therefore, if you don't have a positive track record for doing that for one or two users unofficially plus other previous successful trade records don't jump right into offering escrow service.
7719  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is Quality post really ? on: February 14, 2019, 09:03:00 PM
A quality post in my opinion is a post made with the sole purpose of either informing, educating or answering a users questions thereby adding value to the forum through positive contribution by the users involved. Now when this type of posts inrespective of their qualities are been recycled numerous times by other users, they lose quality to me with exception to few (e.g informative posts and replies answering OP questions.)

7720  Other / Meta / Re: Nigeria Local Board: Theymos take Note on: February 14, 2019, 05:09:57 PM
How many people do you think would participate in such a thread?

We have over 50+ active Nigerians on this forum, i can tell that by just reading their replies (we have a unique way of writing sometimes we mix the pidgin english into normal english. This board we're asking for won't be only for Nigerians but an identity for Africans. From just this two threads i started titled The used of Bitcoin in Africa and Africa isn't poor - Africa is being raped. i have notice many Nigerians and Africans just from thier replies and also gotten PMs from many of them. With the local boards many continent have where to unite and identify themselves with their local languages but we don't. If we can get a board, we will sort the rest things out ourselves maybe by creating threads for each unique languages.
