If the gov bans any use of it and goes after exchanges that allow trading pairs for it to cash out then yes it will die
Do you think that this will happen to all privacy coins?

No. The coins are open source. No gov't can "ban" them.  Roll Eyes

Well they could but it would be a real shitshow trying to enforce.
Isn't Japan trying to force exchanges to remove trading pairs? I think that has really been hurting those coins. Lol

And would probably backfire just by the free publicity if a large economy like Us tried it.Cheesy
They will just figure out how to monetize and 0wn it like they do the rest of the financials, even if they have to buy every last fucking coin. Smiley
7702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether: not even a scam on: July 04, 2018, 05:10:38 PM
Evidence of market manipulation on Kraken using Tether:
https://www.bloomberg.com/graphics/2018-tether-kraken-trades/

If Kraken is not involved (is there a relationship between bitfinex and kraken?), then it means that the manipulation is on both the buy and sell sides, presumably someone/a group is buying and selling to themselves.

Hahaha, this is bullshit

Such mysteries are probably keeping big investors out of cryptocurrencies, he added. “Institutional investors, before they commit their capital, want to see the market is fair.”

The truth is they only invest in rigged markets that they are in on the rigging.
7703  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bear market? Will NEVER HAPPEN because of tether printing. on: July 03, 2018, 03:45:35 PM
Tether will sooner or later implode if these dollars aren't backed by real dollars.

Tether claims that their tokens are backed at 1:1 rates by real US dollars tho.... so there shouldn't be a problem when that money is printed because it's not really printed, it's just USD, and then you must go complain to the FED about printed USD too if you don't like that.

https://tether.to/announcement-transparency-update/

Official statement.
This is the usual manipulation. Nobody checked this. They do not allow auditors to their documents. Most likely this will be fraud. It is not known how long they will be able to avoid auditing.

I believe they allowed a law firm to do a one day audit to prove they had the funds to back that one days activity or some such thing. I doubt they will ever be able to allow their past moves to be viewed as thats a fast track to a deep dark cell. It's interesting to see the only US resident leaving, its a little too late for that I'd say. Lol
7704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: July 03, 2018, 03:35:08 PM
Crime outside of it doesnt matter, biggest issue govs hav will be tax evasion  and xmr will give them  trouble. But i don't  think it will be good for xmr as they will come down hard in it

And in reality that is the only crime the US gov really cares about, unless its from the 1%.

Crime outside of it doesnt matter, biggest issue govs hav will be tax evasion  and xmr will give them  trouble. But i don't  think it will be good for xmr as they will come down hard in it

Maybe in future dev will make some changes to make this coin fit for regulatory policy. But this coin has more better features as compare with any other coin available in the market and future is looking more bright.

Oh you mean like adding something that we could maybe call view keys?
7705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: July 03, 2018, 03:21:58 PM
^  Yup...  And anonymity and confidential transactions.  That's why I think Monero is a good complement for BTC, cos in BTC there's a need for users to have assurance for the ledger to be balanced and auditable.

If anybody wants transparency and immutability, use BTC.  For anonymity and confidential transactions and immutability, use XMR.

FTFY. Tongue

6 months is an eternity in this space, it cannot be compared to traditional markets. Sometimes the premises I see in these arguments make my head hurt when they don't even get pointed out as being incorrect.
7707  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 03, 2018, 04:42:26 AM
I just don't get why peops link pdf files here.
Make sure you know what your doing when opening them, they can contain executables.
Maybe the pdf that was linked contained no exe?
Additionally, I suppose people reading these pages would know what to do when the system asks them if it's OK to execute stuff they just downloaded without knowing.

(No flame intended.)

More the point, their opsec is good enough that it doesn’t matter if the computer they use to browse the web is compromised.

The point I was making is if you did not already know this then you do now. BTW d_eddie, "maybe" your system is now compromised is a bad way to learn opsec. Wink

This deserves a repost.

There is nothing worse than a warm gin and tonic.

Funny you mentioned it, I just had a T&T. Smiley
7708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin to be over $5000 in 2018? on: July 03, 2018, 03:58:04 AM
There is no way! their founder sold his LTC and I no more believe in this crypto. I've never used it and I am not going to.
Please, convince me, what is outstanding in Litecoin except its age. The only reason to invest is that LTC has been on this market for a long time and that's all

I don't hold LTC nor think it's worth even a portion of it's current value but I do think it has a place in this ecoshpere. It is on most if not all exchanges and the withdraw cost is always low and the chain is very fast so it has many uses.
7709  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 02, 2018, 09:33:24 PM

New poll suggested by nanobtc.

age poll ?? whats the reason?

None, who else lied?
First one I've lied on. Cheesy

Has anyone read about the supposed satoshi’s handwritten book?
https://www.financemagnates.com/cryptocurrency/news/satoshi-nakamoto-publish-book-according-mysterious-website/

Probably just the usual bs, still waiting to see a signed message from the known billionaire address... but still, cool story:)

If someone’s curious, these are the first 21 pages published:
http://nakamotofamilyfoundation.org/duality.pdf

I just don't get why peops link pdf files here.

7710  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: whats your plans for the year 2018 on: July 02, 2018, 08:35:34 PM
XMR,BTC. Still looking for a replacement for those two but nothing concrete has become a reality.
7711  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is usdt?? on: July 02, 2018, 08:27:14 PM
USDT=USD, you only need to understand this, you don't have to go deeper.

I've read alot of stupid posts over the years but this one may be the most ill informed of them all.
7712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: July 02, 2018, 08:07:15 PM

Nice, what does this mean?

which includes indirect Ledger support
7713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: July 02, 2018, 07:38:59 PM
XMR/USD is starting to look good.  I'm thinking of trading some on margin (nothing big) as soon as it gathers momentum and breaks 135 USD or somewhere near it.

Good idea?  Who's with me?  Grin

Where? Cheesy

Kraken supports this right?

Kraken doesn't like U.S. users.

My bet was before end of August.  I too feel any buys now will be well-rewarded soon.  XMR 2020 was right on the 200 MA.  Monero is heading from 'strong buy' into 'insane not to' territory.  It's just when the optimal point is reached, I am greedy but I want to buy at the bottom!

Of course we aren't the only ones studying it anymore and Monero runs up tend to be rather fast.   Undecided

.0177 was the recent bottom, won't see that again for a while.

*ahem.*

A little optimism, please!

Lol, W00ps meant it as ironic. Seeing as I have been wrong so many times already on the floor. Tongue

New Gui, thats good news.
7714  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 02, 2018, 07:34:24 PM

Someone musta fatfingered it. Smiley

Does anyone have a list of SW exchange addresses so we can Blacklist them? Cheesy
7715  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether: not even a scam on: July 02, 2018, 12:09:28 PM
Tether is a good crypto since it is not volatile it is good place to hide your assets here because the value is same as a dollar. This could avoid large amount of tax if you convert those dollars into Tether.

How good is it going to be when it's banking accounts get seized again? Doing an aufit, even a fake one, exposes it's banls.

tether and bitfinex is going to go down in flames and bitcoin will cross again underneath 1k. Its the same tale as with mt gox. this can no longer be happy ending its going to damage the rate of cryptos.

they know not the fire they play with.

So i'm confused. Is this the zerocoin where the devs wrote backdoor and created free coins?

So is anyone using "Medved Trader" to trade? Binance browser charts are just crippling.
7720  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: All in ETH now? on: June 30, 2018, 02:51:23 PM
I'm not the supporter of 100-% investment strategies, but ETH may be the key to success - going 100% may result in crazy profits if it will finally go to the moon. One from the small number of reliable coins.

Let me support you here. I love Ethereum and believe that this cryptocurrency might become the leader of the market in future. However, I think that you have to trade different alts. Pick Wings or Waves Smiley

So how did this work out for you guys?
