7701  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mixers under the threat? on: May 02, 2021, 06:56:29 PM
It was a matter of time to see this happens. I always asked myself how those services can be legal because any under who sends their coins to mixing services is because he has something to hide...
That's my take on the issue of using mixer too, I think that there is no other reasons besides doing something shady even if they say that it is for privacy, how private do you want your shit to be? Bitcoin is pseudonymous enough for someone to not get tracked online.

I don't want to be the fanboy but you might want to read up on privacy (hey maybe even the Cypherpunk Manifesto or the one from ProjectVRM) then perhaps you might gain insight and perspective on why some people believe that protecting your privacy goes beyond your rights, but is in fact, your duty to yourself and to society.

I don't need to hide a lot of things myself, and choose deliberately not to, for purposes of obeying the laws of the jurisdiction I reside in.

But I also choose deliberately to keep private some things I don't want the whole world to know.

Privacy isn't secrecy.
7702  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: May 02, 2021, 04:46:51 PM
Game's called off, confirmed now. Can't see anything from broadcasters here but statement from MUFC confirms a postponement with more details to follow.

I say fan power, so yeah, disappointed there's no game, but some people need to be reminded football isn't confined to the boardroom and to the puppeteering of suits and ties.

Ah well, I get all my bets back I guess. Wondering what happens to Freebets though, I put a whole load on them on Liverpool parlays =D

7703  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Welcome back to the Premier League- Watford FC!! 🚀 on: May 02, 2021, 04:19:55 PM
I think its all or nothing for Liverpool. United will not be at the best with the Europa game they had and the amount of energy they had to put after in second half to make comeback against Roma. Liverpool will have good advantage going into this match but that not necessarily means they will win this for sure. They still have chance so why not play out the best for the remainder of the fixtures and secure CL spot. At least go down with a fight kno? who knows maybe they are able to secure in the end with slightest margins.

Don't know about that. the game was 3 days ago, plenty of time to rest, really, and if I were them, I'd be pumped full of adrenaline and energy. Those kinds of big wins are psychological Red Bull. It's negligible advantage, except perhaps without the pressure to perform at Anfield, we should be freer to explore options and be more daring.

Like I said, we ought to give it a good fight. A win is the least to expect. Also, it'll secure City's title and hopefully give them a "rest on laurels" effect so they KO against PSG haha.

Meanwhile, fan protests are delaying the game. Wish I could see it instead of replays as my provider's doing!
7704  Economy / Speculation / Re: How risky do you feel investing in Bitcoin is in this point of time? on: May 02, 2021, 02:33:36 PM
Not really that risky. Especially when you're planning a long term holding/investment in Bitcoin.
As you can see, there are still a lot of bullish predictions and news about Bitcoin reaching 6 digit figures and even 7 digit figure.
Some might think just like you where Bitcoin might be on the verge of falling just because it has rapidly grow since last year.

Imo, Bitcoin is far from the peak and not much to worry about If you're holding for long term.

Think it's really important for people to identify the risks they're willing to take first, before identifying the asset or type of investment they're looking to gain exposure in.

I probably approached it from the wrong angle when I started out. Bitcoin was an experiment for me, but I risked a bit more than I should have by trying to switch entirely, I was lucky it worked out but even now with Bitcoin seeming less risky and more stable, I'm actually trying to reduce my risk by saving some in more traditional means... that may mean being as creative as setting up more pensions funds for other members of family, life insurance payments, etc.

It's much easier if you only live on your own and have no dependents. If that were my situation, I'd probably go 99% into Bitcoin for the long term and still cover my ass with some life insurance plans.
7705  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io "Soccer Blackjack" @ 21.00 odds on: May 02, 2021, 01:20:33 PM
It couldn't have been any other match! Blackjack soccer is live now and it's the most watched fixture in the English Premier League:

Manchester United vs Liverpool.
https://sportsbet.io/sports/event/sportsbet-specials/daily-specials/soccer-blackjack/manchester-united-fc-liverpool-fc-608e5554aa5783f281267813

Unfortunately, this fixture doesn't always have fireworks but I will always remember the 4-1 Gerrard-kissing-the-camera game and let's hope we have another cracker like that, eh guys?

Only thing I'll watch today with no distractions;)
7706  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ BitcoinPRBuzz.com's ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: May 02, 2021, 12:58:34 PM
Damn LTU, in my old age my memory has really really played tricks on my mind. I just looked at the Copa pool and I saw my name there, but could have sworn I don't remember much about it at all until reading through the thread. And yes of course it was World Cup, not anything else, since we only started the pool things in 2018. Those were the days, so long ago haha:) Pretty cool it lasted so long, let's see if Serie A and La Liga pools can continue to grow in popularity too!
7707  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: May 02, 2021, 11:55:54 AM
@arallmuus @icopress Yep, Europa is United's to lose. I'm betting on whoever progresses on the other end of course. Can't stand United winning... sorry Red Devils.
I thought I was the only one who hate man utd with everything I've got. They've proceeded from the semi-final to the final all thanks to Roma Inconsistency, I'd rather see Villareal clinch the title than watching Manutd lifting it and I wouldn't want them to play Arsenal in the Final either, they are the worse club in London, they've been 10th in the league since Michael el faraday died from electric shock. Pathetic club.

I think if you're a Liverpool supporter, then you are by default set up to hate United. Fairplay to them for knocking us off our perch in the 1990s but let me assure you, seeing them lift trophies is every bit as painful as not winning one ourselves. And while it's nice to rub it in the faces of our Merseyside rivals when we lift trophies, it's personally sweeter for me to see the rubbish coming out of United fans when we win =D

I know it's all good fun and banter in the end but where I come from, you can almost kind of stereotype the person from the team they support -- and I grew up in the era of United dominance, from the Treble era... and of course Arsenal, and then later Chelsea and City, Galacticos etc. Liverpool weren't as "vogue" but I agree. This season, Utd did have quite good luck with Europa and should really not have had such an easy time against Roma.
7708  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Welcome back to the Premier League- Watford FC!! 🚀 on: May 02, 2021, 10:51:30 AM
Which is why it always becomes a bit of a challenge for me to know who will be drafted where since it is not really that much of a deal for me so I just randomize these things. I do the same for NBA drafts as well, unless there is a generational talent level player, I rarely ever hear them beforehand.

I'm curious now to know also if the sport has the same kind of rules elsewhere in the world where it is played (Canada and Mexico I know also play it, but strangely if you look it up online, not much is said about Mexican rules). Do they also do a draft or do they even use the same formats? I always thought it a little weird we have those baseball for example very popular in the far east (but understandable given the N American influence over there) but American football itself hasn't taken roots the way rugby has (I mean, Japan seems to have a league but I've not met a single person from there who's played it).

Morning guys, it’s Man Utd vs Liverpool today. Normally I’d be confident of my boys LFC getting a good result here but I have to say, not feeling it today. I’m predicting a Man Utd win unless they rest players due to their EL semi final 2nd leg against Roma.

Prediction Man Utd 2-0 LFC

I put a ridiculously big bet (by standards of what I generally bet anyway) on LFC today... against my own judgment. I'm hoping our boys will be fired up for this one because if beating United doesn't stir up fire in them, we really don't deserve Champions League or even Europa.
7709  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +59422 units on: May 02, 2021, 09:35:56 AM
Never bet on your own team when you know it's up against a team that has better form and better chances to win. Right now, United's form is on fire. Winning every game, drawing maybe one. Liverpool slipping up time and again.

But away, bookies have them as the very slight favourites.

Less value, but I'm a dumb guy, so a 500 unit ML bet at Fairlay on Liverpool to WIN @2.58. Other odds: 2.46
Units advantage: 12x5 = 60

And let's do a Super Boost 100 units at Sportsbet on correct score 1-2 @11.28. Other odds: 9.20
Units advantage: 192

Edit: bets are off. Match got cancelled. Let's be mean and do another bet against Barca, shall we? It's HT now, 0-0, and I took Valencia at 95/10 with Super Boost at Sportsbet. It's actually 12/10 now if you want to take live;) Bet ID: 608ef6824219f71998bcac78
No units advantage. I'll do all calculations tomorrow!

Eh Wow, not long after as I posted this. Valencia scored. 49th mins haha. You missed it guys =p

And then of course Messi hits back, RIP my underdog.

Running advantage after 329 bets: +22,406 (+252)
All-time cumulative: +59,964
Running units after 327 bets (401W|276L): +11,988 (-100)
7710  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: May 01, 2021, 09:25:48 PM
I guess I saw it somewhere in some topic. Is this something from sportsbet.io? Lately I have unsubscribed from that thread of multi master so really don't get much news from sportsbet. I do visit their ANN sometimes but lost my interest to respond there.

Anyway, good luck with your bet. It's still 0 - 0 so on the pool you have a good chance but again it's fine to sacrifice those points if you win a bet 🤣

Yeah, a new challenge on this link (well, hardly new now that it's entered the 46th edition -- I believe one every day since it was launched 13th March).

They do run a lot of promos so can be hard to keep track but their ANN's where you'll hear about everything if you visit, you don't even have to respond just watch;)

And yep, got my win thanks to AeG. Small happy joy joy =)

Night lads. Looking forward to Liverpool - Utd tomorrow LFC_Bitcoin? I've cleared my evening!
7711  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: May 01, 2021, 08:27:00 PM
No one gone for Villa, imagine they win tonight 🤣. By the way, 19 players gone with 2 - 1 win for Everton! I would be happy if they win by 3 - 1 or even lose the match, it's a tactical wish consider the position I have in the pool LOL

I went for a live Villa DBB at about 25/10, just moments before they scored... then of course got pegged back. I'm watching live text scores with some interest too because of the Blackjack challenge -- currently at 11 points with 30 mins to go, so we need a flurry of corners or cards I guess to see his through. Not looking very hopeful but yeah a Toffees win screws me in betting. I went for 0-0 so am already on 1.5 points, I suppose I won't mind losing those points for some betting wins.
7712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: May 01, 2021, 06:26:28 PM
Leeds have one of the dramatical and passionate fans in the world they had one of the deadliest rivalries with Chelsea in the 90s, the matches between these two clubs never end well. . yeah Watford was the first but yeah I only suggested a perfect replacement should their contract ends next season.

Indeed. Something about English clubs in any case, from my general observation, that tends to appeal a bit more to us in the Commonwealth. Perhaps it's because football is as big here as it is there. Perhaps it's just the common language that meant we used to get free FA cup live shows on regular tv in late 80s til 90s, until Sky took over everything haha...

But of course if it ends up being Leeds, I'll be wanting those jerseys just as bad =D

@arallmuus @icopress Yep, Europa is United's to lose. I'm betting on whoever progresses on the other end of course. Can't stand United winning... sorry Red Devils.
7713  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2020/2021 on: May 01, 2021, 02:45:20 PM
The league will be won by Manchester City, the runners-up will be Manchester United but the chase for 3rd and 4th place finishes will go to the end. Maybe it will go the last game of the season before we know the other two teams are that will qualify for the Champions League. Liverpool and West Ham are in contention alongside Chelsea and Leicester but it looks likely that Leicester City might be the 3rd team.

Yeah if the Foxes win just two more games I think it's. In the bag for them. The manner with which they won their last one will also be a boost to morale, whereas Liverpool still only have a glimmer of hope even if they beat United. Not conceding 4th now but it would be quite disrespectful to hope Chelsea and West Ham drop so many more points in the last handful of fixtures. We just need to fix our games as have been dreadful.

Brighton currently leading so again just goes to show how frustratingly unpredictable every team sans City have been this season. Bielsa woll be using the rest of the season to hopefully test out personnel. No point in burning out the rest of the season just protect Bamford and keep fitness levels up is all.

7714  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: May 01, 2021, 01:12:09 PM
Is it just me or does Aguero look fat out there.  Lol.  I’m not sure if it’s my stream or what but the rest of the players look fine.  I mean seriously, he looks stocky and his legs look bigger than they did before.  Cheesy

And it’s pretty interesting Pep played him at the no. 10 role with Jesus up front leading the attack.

Am on mobile but I had to try and find a decent stream to see for myself after seeing this haha but nah he has always looked a tad chunky when not on the field... Can't really tell though but he opened the scoring and does the job. Kinda like Suarez or even Cantona at times I remember. A bit chunky looking but still twisting and squirming like gods haha.

I do remember watching Lukaku at United and swearing he looked bigger and bigger and my son (the fan) kept insisting I was wrong until one day you simply couldn't deny it anymore!
7715  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ BitcoinPRBuzz.com's ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: May 01, 2021, 12:06:52 PM
It's actually still called Euro 2020. I made the mistake myself but looked it up and it was after all decided to retain the original name so as not to cause confusion ha.

I always bet on Copa, and even Afcon... Good value bets always to be found on smaller countries but who recently have very competitive squads thanks to rich vlub experience in the Europe Big Fours...

We did have a euro pool as I recall or was that World Cup now? Either way definitely joining if there is enough interest!
7716  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tech Giants Jack Dorsey and Elon Musk Say Bitcoin Incentivizes Renewable Energy on: May 01, 2021, 11:33:19 AM
We have so many other things that are actually affecting the world's climate and health that Bitcoin mining is only a very insignificant fracture of it.
Yeah, I'm also pretty sure the way electric cars are charged is through burning fossil fuels mostly. That's how the electric grid is powered anyhow. Only a small portion of it is using renewable energy. As for Bitcoin, and the huge debate over whether its using too much. Well, the title of this thread is correct. Those mining will be looking to reduce costs as much as possible, and for large scale operations then renewable energy through hydroplants, and solar panels are probably going to be the future of mining. Although, Bitcoin definitely does incentivizes renewable energy, the amount that doesn't is still pretty insignificant when you consider multiple other industries. It is true, relatively speaking mining is quite expensive. In terms of the amount of power that is required. When you add it up, it is pretty significant. However, its much more dramatized that the actual figures suggest.

Thought I would point this out but guess it's not such a hidden possible avenue of inquiry after all. A lot of new studies showing that powering electric and other types of renewables aren't as clean as thought of. Not to mention the growing pile of spent solar panels in places I used to work... They basically lose effectiveness after five years or so especially on older tech panels. With no thought as to how to dispose of them properly.

Not that I'm anti renewable. It is the future, we just can't rush into it. But sectors like Bitcoin mining will certainly push efforts to understand renewables and make them more responsible. All good.
7717  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2020/2021 on: May 01, 2021, 10:27:33 AM
Nice picks JollyGood! Certainly the wise options for predictions but betting wise I have gone quite a different direction. Palace to win around 95/10 is what I am counting on and the match is an hour away so it might even rise to 11/1 or thereabouts.

Also I would pick handicaps or DNBs for Villa and Fulham... Just biased there though. Need Chelsea and Everton to drop points if Liverpool wants a peek into UCL spots heh. We have to of course beat United but I fancy our chances there to be honest... Ignoring how we let Leeds and Newcastle ruin our past two games...
7718  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +59422 units on: May 01, 2021, 09:24:34 AM
Well, the lesson obviously needs to be hammered into me haha. Wasted some good upsets in my pivks yesterday too.

City should win today quite easily, but Palace reminded Leicester Zaha is still a painful striker to deal with and I feel City losing hurt the odds but still worth taking a punt.

On mobile now so not easy to update so will do the calculations and maybe another pick later but my pick today...

100 units at Fairlay on Palace to WIN at 9.42. other odds 8.80.

Units advantage: 62

Running advantage after 327 bets: +22,154 (+62)
All-time cumulative: +59,712
Running units after 326 bets (401W|275L): +12,088 (-100)
7719  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's your bet? how many years could bitcoin go to its highest? on: May 01, 2021, 09:02:02 AM
Predicting prices and years sort of lost its lustre for me even if I do engage in self fantasy every now and then.

For me, it's quite simple. I either hit a price target or a time target, and neither are near me at all.

But for the sake of entering my prediction, top is 200,000 at 2025. Very simple 6 months after next halving. The effect every halving is hard to ignore.
7720  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 01, 2021, 07:54:12 AM
The problem isn't their quality, mostly it's their price. When you buy a younger player, you can still sell him later and earn a lot of money. These players come with high initial fees, but can be perceived as investment as well.

Old players have no resell value, they demand big contracts and signing bonuses because of their quality and it's often better for a club to buy a slightly worse young player than a slightly better old one - even if it sounds weird.

When these players turn out good, it's great. But more often than not they turn out to be bad investments.

Fair enough, but for clubs like Manchester United anyway, they usually buy players for direct impact and results (from what I can see despite all the different managers they have adopted Ferguson's approach).

After Ronaldo, they haven't been good at reselling people who were even young enough to get good prices and we'll see it again with Pogba haha.

And who can blame clubs who want to buy results? Like you said, buy new guys and you risk losing investments anyway.

I'd go as far to say as that you can't even really guarantee "old" players will bring the results desired. I'm a huge fan of Suarez, and I thought Barca were wrong to do what they did to him, so happy he found a good club at Atletico. Also happy Chicarito (don't like United but can't fault good guys like them) still can punch above his weight in MLS but even gold star players like Zlatan didn't always work out. Robbie Fowler didn't really work out on his return to Liverpool, for example.

So I still say, and I know this is naive, that you should never spend a lot of money, regardless of age. Markets can sometimes force your hand but it usually evens out (buying VVD at sky high prices after selling Coutinho for even more crazy prices, for example). Hoping my club continues their strategy of buying. We got a good player in Jota, we didn't really get good ones in between (I did think Minamino needed time though) but we just have to keep at it. Keep the gems and offload the rest.
