This is interesting, are they alts or merit sellers?

Nevis
ace4549

I will look more on the ring for ace4549.
I can check those accounts if anyone is interested, pretty sure will find more coincidences.

Yeah, please do. I'm about 75% certain ace4549 is ac2eugenio, who also sent merit to ace. Some of ace's merits are organic, but most are not...

I'm pretty sure anjho.ace is also ac2eugenio... He got exactly enough merits to rank up between 1/25 and 1/30/18, and hasn't received a single one since! 90 merits in 5 days, a pretty good take.

anjho.ace sent a bunch of merits to gunhell16, who also sent merits to ace4549. And guess what? gunhell16 also got exactly enough merits (150) to rank up to Sr Member, all from 1/25 to 4/18/18, and hasn't earned another one since. What are the odds??

There's a lot of cross-linkages here, which I suspect is merit shuffling through minor alts:

ac2eugenio's ring of alts just went up from 55 to about 80 (note: not all accounts shown above are alts). Its possible that its a team of people coordinating this; i would like to believe that as it seems more sane. otherwise, its just insanity.

If we're moving to ban people for merit abuse, I think all of these aforementioned accounts should be banned. It would definitely discourage this kind of behavior.

I have zero faith in cryopreservation.

I have zero faith in "uploading consciousness".

So, if you upload your consciousness...  is it really 'you' at that point? Or is it just an exact copy of you, and you are actually dead ?   I've actually been pondering this recently, and I can't get past the continuity of consciousness during the upload process, to believe the end result would still be me.
Yeah, that's one of the big questions right?

I guess part of the problem is that we (or at least I) don't have a clear view of what makes up a person/individual.  I mean, we know about brains being made out of neurons, glial cells etc., but have much more issues seeing how that translates to more abstract higher-order concepts such as consciousness, character etc. .

This is actually one of my favorite conversations to have. I decided to study neuroscience from a young age because I was caught up in the idea of creating a computer program that could "upload your brain before you die," thereby allowing you to live forever. I was on an "extropians" e-mail list that was started coincidentally by Wei Dai (pre-bitcoin e-money guy) and wanted to learn all I could about longevity.

After my first neuroscience course during my junior year (you have 2 full years of prep before you're even allowed to touch neuroscience), I realized that this is an impossible feat, at least for centuries to come. The human brain is the most complex structure in the known universe. Our best computers can't even begin to touch what it is capable of performing.

After finishing my degree and going to grad school for neuroscience, I came to the conclusion that you're better off just keeping your brain alive inside a jar, placed in a cyborg body. Kind of like Robocop. Of course, entropy will always win, but we're much closer to being able to make this happen than replicating the brain digitally.

One thing that always pissed me off about Star Trek and the idea of "beaming"... Once you get beamed somewhere, you're dead! The old you is just disintegrated and the new you is just an exact replica of you. So yeah, who gives a shit if you can only make a replica of yourself. You're better off just having children, which are one half you, and then call it a day.
7723  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: nobody is gonna use these updates. shit coin. on: April 10, 2019, 03:33:42 PM
Relax man, accept this scam for what it is. Trade if you want to make money, that's all this shitcoin is good for now.

You are totally right! They even lie about their burning rate. While they claim that the burning rate is less, they hired a bunch of new people in Costa Rica (more salaries) and they invested over than 1 million dollar into buying shares from the Agora Bank that doesn't have any customer, product or service.

Interesting finding. Maybe they should make a video explaining to us how they spend the ICO money buying cannabis and OCBs to smoke pot.

Do you ever get tired of talking to yourself? Its pretty obvious you're all the same person. What is up with your weird obsession with this project? Its price is doing pretty well. If you were actually an investor, you'd have to be pretty stoked that its come back up this far. Do yourself a favor and stop crying.
7724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: bye bye bitcointalk  :( on: April 10, 2019, 03:26:21 PM
So, after two months my problem is still not solved. Delisting delay did not change anything. This exchange seems to be completely out of service.

My guess is they didn't actually have the coins to distribute back to their users.

When people started requesting withdrawals, they forced KYC on them. For those who passed the KYC, they upped withdrawal fees. For those willing to pay higher withdrawal fees, they upped the "minimum" coins for withdrawal. For those who could withdrawal the minimum, they took wallets down for "repair".

What's weird is I just tried logging in using my account with them and it is now also locked. If I actually had coins on there I would find it quite unsettling.
7725  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Tradesatoshi - BEWARE! Blocking without reasons. on: April 10, 2019, 10:40:42 AM
They posted this sob story in their official thread. Looks like they are gone. That's about all we can do.

bye bye bitcointalk  Sad

Unfortunately this thread was taken over a group of scammer who keep spamming with the intention of blackmail not only Tradesatoshi but anyone who disagree with the them.
Without success we tried to get those post deleted and bring some moderation to the thread but instead Bitcointalk moderators delete our posts from users: zyrenth and trade-sa-to-shi.
Those post that where deleted had valuable information for our users. Users who come to Bitcointalk to get this news.

"Spamming with the intention of blackmail"? How does that work? By the way, their posts were being deleted because they kept bumping their thread within a 24 hour period.

Remember to be careful and avoid to post your personal information on the internet.

Yeah like uploading ID documents to dodgy exchanges.

The most honest Ethereum token yet, a project called "Donate Me":

You donate Ethereum to him, and he gives you some tokens, and that's it! Most straight forward project ever.

At least it's not called "Scam you" token  Grin

You know what's funny, a few years back there was a "Ripoff Coin," and people bought it, and that's exactly what it did! About 10 pages in to the 53 page (!) ANN thread, people starting complaining about how "man, this is such a ripoff," because it had a wonky block reward and halving structure. I don't think its worth anything now, but if it was, it wouldn't be true to its name.

The third iteration of the ANN has a pretty humorous team member listing.

The most honest Ethereum token yet, a project called "Donate Me":

Hi my friend,

In general, the project provides a token that anyone using it will give them some of the token in exchange for receiving financial support from others.
My principle in this project is based on honesty. The fact is that now
- I am alone.
- This project does not have a team.
- This project does not have a site.
- The future of this project is unclear.
- The level of participation of others in this project is unknown.
- The profits and losses of buyers of this coin are not clear either.

You donate Ethereum to him, and he gives you some tokens, and that's it! Most straight forward project ever.

I am posting this evidence of the Invech white paper being plagiarized again for those who are visiting this thread for the first time. This project employs a cheesy bumping service to bump its thread (as can be seen by the obviously fake conversation in this thread by low-level accounts) and their white paper is heavily plagiarized from the Binance whitepaper:

This project is likely to be a scam, do not send your money there.

... jbreher ... come back to team bitcoin.

'Come back'? I've been here the whole time.

My bullshit detector is going off the charts. You're the guy who used to refer to bitcoin as "segwit coin" remember? I do.

What of it? I stand by the statement. Do you find the disambiguation as 'SegWit Coin' perjorative? Are you embarrassed by SegWit? I maintain that the term 'SegWit Coin' is a useful disambiguation which makes it quite clear that one is referring to the BTC fork of Bitcoin. Though, admittedly, some (quite a few, actually) silly insecure ninnies got their panties in a bunch over my use of the term. To appease such snowflakes, I have more recently been using the term 'Bitcoin Core', which still provides the same disambiguation, while reducing the incidence of [~triggering intensifies~].

Happy?

Jesus Ver Christ. You just doubled down on your own nonsense. Obviously I'm not embarrassed about SegWit because I don't feel the need to deride bitcoin by calling it 'segwit coin'. I've used segwit dozens of times and never once had a problem. The fear of segwit is unfounded, as are most fears guided by ignorance. BTW only bcash shills call bitcoin "Bitcoin Core." This has long been established. Hence my exasperation.

I'm sure your busy rebutting my last comment directed at you but I won't be responding to it.

Depending upon the sequencing of things, Bitcoin Cash may be no more altcoin than is SegWit coin (which is somewhat playfully starting to be referred to as Bitcoin-Jr)

My only intent is to counter misinformation. Those that are open to thought will save themselves.

Which is why I am intent on countering yours. Breher, you're welcome to have your own viewpoint, just don't act like its the only one that's valid. That shit is stupid, and infuriating. And I don't blame V8s for leaving you his rating. You've been proven to be incorrect in your assertions time and time again, which is by all accounts the same as providing misinformation.

Because suppressing views is totally okay if they are your own! That can’t be a dictatorship! Wink

You are also welcome to your own ridiculous opinion that this forum is a dictatorship, even your right to call it a dictatorship. Which means its not, but that's besides whatever transient, flightless point you were desperately trying to make.

What would you have me do? For the eleventy-bajillion-and-oneth time, a large number of so-called 'nodes' provide no value to the network as a whole. Of course, I'll probably continue to run a full-validating, non-mining wallet client or three for myself, as I like to be able to create txs that need no intermediaries.

For the twelth bajillionth time, a large number of nodes help speedier propagation of transaction information through the network. They ensure robust communication of blockchain information --- why can't you get this??

What will you do when groups spam your small blocks, leading to the txs you desire unable to get included in the chain in under weeks, and even then at a cost of $thousands?

Its already happening periodically, for over a year it would seem; starting around November 2017.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/analyst-suspicious-bitcoin-mempool-activity-transaction-fees-spike-to-16

I've personally watched people sending bitcoin to themselves with incredibly high fees during intermittent bursts for seemingly no reason other than to increase the average transaction fee.

7735  Other / Meta / Re: User got voted into DT1 by sockpuppets on: April 08, 2019, 05:57:08 PM
This is quite alarming. Those usernames are commonly used by Filipinos to insinuate something vulgar out of those common names. While these users might be ban for the DT1 selection/voting process, perhaps a permanent ban is necessary. I can pretty much name/point out users that may have been connected to each other by just looking at them, as they all hint a shade of vulgarity in Filipino terms.

I think it has something to do with ac2eugenio, who, wouldn't you know, was also part of the great H8bussesNbicycles scheme to overthrow Lauda. Interestingly, he was never red tagged by Lauda, but it leads me to believe that an alt of his was.

My girlfriend, who is a Filipina, burst out laughing when she read some of the names, and for others she just said "Oh my God, why would they do that??"

She also taught me what "pooque" means, which is thought to be an alt of ac2eugenio, as are some of the names listed in page 1 of this thread.

I'm willing to bet all these accounts belong to him. He is (was) a bounty manager, and even if he stopped posting under that account in late February, I'm sure he lives on in other accounts.

Yes it indeed looks like the account changed hands between July 7th and August 18th 2018, however, if you cannot prove its your account, you'll have little chance of getting it back, as was previously stated...
7737  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Comparison of Offchain Solutions for Crypto Coins on: April 08, 2019, 10:34:17 AM
Sorry franky1, you can make disingenuous ways to confuse the newbies, distort the facts, and spread misinformation and lies, but there's only one truth. There are no "IOU promises to pay tokens" in the Lightning Network. None of what you have said has disproved that fact.

you can repeat it all you like. but what you say holds no details that counters what is real.
maybe try using LN, learn LN and actually understand/research it.

try to learn about millisats. as this will be the stepping stone that will teach you about the unconfirmed private agreements(iou) that are not bitcoin.
a 12 decimal token that shows a different destination for its value than the 8 decimal bitcoin on the blockchain. cannot co exist and both be committed/settled.
one has to be a real committed settled value, the other has to be an unsettled private agreement(iou) which due to it being 12 decimal, is a peg of a 8 decimal

hint/emphasis for your first step, millisat
and dont pretend millisats dont exist

I'll admit I'm not sure how millisats are rounded up or down upon closure of a channel but I am certain Lightning doesn't inflate their network with satoshis that aren't there.

Despite all this FUD about LN, it continues to grow by leaps and bounds on a weekly basis. Obviously its users don't mind the possibility of having to deal with the potential issues you are fabricating in this thread. Really franky, I don't understand how you can be so angry at a technology.

And I know your reply is going to be telling me to "go do research." How about you provide evidence that backs your thus far completely unsubstantiated claims instead?
7738  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 08, 2019, 10:29:04 AM

Blah blah blah larger block blah blah

You have bcash and bsv with larger blocks, go there you have options. What part of we don't want larger blocks is so hard to comprehend

Yeah, I get it. But some here seem utterly oblivious to the consequences thereof.

No need to save us bro.  Go save someone else.
It isn't saving us when he knows who he partners with, the scoundrels looking to manipulate and lie to force their profit.

Roger does it through pretending Bcash is Bitcoin, Jihan floated the price with the force use of it for hardware, Craig lies about being Satoshi and having those follow his "vision". It's all bullshit of these scumbags trying to force a profit and have some sort of power and fame.

i owe you a big fat merit.

Sent one on your behalf.

We perfectly comprehend the consequences of limiting block size and the reasons for doing so, while he remains unwilling to uptake such information into his narrow, jealously guarded viewpoint.

I think exploring opposing viewpoints through debate is good, but you can't have a debate with a slab of stone.
7739  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS - Asynchronous Smart Contract Platform - (Dan Larimer of Bitshares/Steem) on: April 07, 2019, 04:58:02 PM
An "exit scam" means something is being closed entirely. Not the case with Larimer's projects.

This is the first time I've visited this thread in almost 2 years. If my ethics permitted me I would tag you a second time for being a serial bullshit spreader.
You are so strictly DT member. I read the post I quoted, and red the trust page of that guy, then I found that Lauda (not you) tagged him or her with negative trusts due to his or her bad posts in Bitcoin Cash topic, not here.
And, what is the point of 'would tag you a second time'? Did you tag that guy, then removed tag due to his or her improvements later?

No I mean if I shared Lauda's viewpoint on what people should be tagged for I would tag him as well, but I don't, so I won't.

Glad someone’s picked up on it. They’ve managed to suppress viewpoints on Bitcointalk. A complete dictatorship. Either choose my side or it’s negative feedback. No room for debate.

You're here managing to blather on about nonsense, aren't you? You're hardly being suppressed.
7740  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: April 07, 2019, 02:59:54 PM
Also they sent 138 merits to 2 members (149 to 6 members total)... despite never receiving a merit??

https://bpip.org/profile.aspx?p=Asatur

Guess they must be a merit source...

Legendaries got 200 airdrop sMerits.

Really? I could have sworn I only got 100. Guess I'm probably mistaken.
