No one is talking about how RTX3090 give room to more space than other GPUs, RTX3090 gives 120MH but using 3070 will take more space more risers and also build more heats, I think going for 3090 is a good choice.

Yes especially if he gets proper cases.

A 3090 will do 108-115 mh in a good case at 285 watts.

If you look  around you can find 3090's under 2100 usd

so 8 in a minerdude case is about  8 x 2100 = 16800 + 1000(case) = $17800 for 850-900mh doing about 8x285=2280+170 = 2450 watts an hour or 60kwatts a day

so 60 kwatts a day at 5 cents = 3 dollars power

and 850 mh earns about 34 a day

so 31 net a day =  11,315 a year

or 31 x 580 = 17980 after 580 days.  not great but the 3090 have 3 year warranty and 580 days = only 19 months
7762  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 2022 Diff thread. on: March 05, 2022, 03:43:24 PM
So a -1.49% drop, we're one day into it and a 95.23% pace right now.
I didn't expect it to actually drop, not with those prices and I obviously don't see a 5% drop coming this period either, one quick look gives me at least a 25% up in revenue from the lowest we experienced, so no point going even further down.
Of course, it could be that Kzaschatn thing with the miners, it could be some mining farms in Ukraine, some higher than usual prices making old gear shut down, but others are still getting gear in the millions.

Either way, shitty times.

Do you guys actually actively monitor RH levels in your buildings, or it's just me going overboard?

Maybe there is a large mine or two that has been shut down.

Or many mines are off line due to the attack on the large Nuclear Power Plant

https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2022-03-04/ukraine-nuclear-power-plant-attack-what-is-putin-thinking

this power plant does 5700MW

say 10% or 570 mw is mining spread about the country that would be 172000 s19's
or 17200 ph or 17.2eh eh that Is around  8.6% of a 200eh network

kind of matches that the power plant is off line. Maybe?

This is why money is the root of evil and this war just making profits to parties associated with and the sad part of these that civilians is the main victims here. This is why this war should be stop as soon as possible because the longer it takes the more lives will be wasted.

 the correct quote:

' For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.'    from the Bible 1 Timothy 6:10

which means this in modern English:

the love of money is the root of all evil = correct

not this:

money is the root of all evil = false

Ie: I do not love money I will not harm people places or things on purpose to get more money

Ie : I love money I will hurt people people places or things if I get more money by doing it.

franky1's idea that staking an ln node makes btc a pos coin has some merit.

In a way it does make it a hybrid pow/pos coin.

As a miner looking to use mining profits to build solar arrays I fear the ln network could be harmful to mining.

Is franky1 a strong believer in his idea yes does his idea make some sense yes.

Since ln was created and implemented we have lost the over crowded mempool which makes rewards as high as 1 or 2 btc on a 6.25 btc block

and we are stuck in a 30k-70k slot.  I used to think having the huge reward times was a boost for btc price growth. That is now lost to us.

Time will tell if LN network stalls the growth of btc price. If it does then doge with the steady block size  but decreasing % of growth will proof it to be the better two coin.

I have a lot of thanks to both Danny and Franky for letting me think more about btc and mining in general.

JJG has made me do a $50 a day dca buy of btc I will continue it for this year.
7765  Economy / Reputation / Re: [REVIEW] 3 Bitcointalk unsung heroes. on: March 04, 2022, 09:33:56 PM
I am primarily a miner. I have a partnership with edit sp ; (forum) member buysolar.

And BTC mining much like a hammer is a tool to create or a weapon to destroy. Depends on how you use it.

With a partner like buysolar it is obvious I employ mining to create solar arrays. My goal is creating wealth that is green based.

franky1 has a very interesting take on the LN network he could be correct he could be wrong.  I read all his points and decided to be more diverse than being a BTC purist ,

Thus my partner and I mine BTC,ETH,LTC/Doge.

franky1 has pushed that BTC is more of a POW/POS coin due to the LN network this is a solid observation and I agree with it. But unlike franky1 I do not know if it will kill off btc down the road.

so I have the other coins.

Doge with its descending inflation rate is an interesting compromise that franky1 and another person in the wall thread helped me to understand why mining doge and btc is correct move (in my opinion)

doge year 1 = x coins
doge year 2 = 2x coins 100% inflation
doge year 3 = 3x coins   50% inflation

onto

doge year 10 = 10x coins
doge year 11 = 11x coins  10% inflation

onto

doge year 25 = 25x coins
doge year 26 = 26x coins  4% inflation  in year 26 of doge I will be 80 years old

point that I make is doge has solved the ½ issue by creating an eternal decrease of inflation

So some days I feel doge will win out over btc since btc will run out of coins and rewards will be too low for mining due to LN or pos steals the fees.

other days I feel btc will simply soar in value solving all issues.

A lot of this thought process is due to me reading franky1 attack on ln

JJG is not unsung. He also give decent advice on investing your $$ into btc

dannyhamiltion is a good guy he is the main reason I ended my signature earnings as years ago I would take the coins earned from my signature and give them away in the mining section.  I gave away 3 or 4 coins total from the signature money and 6 or 7 coins from a member that sent me the 6 or 7 to give away.

now I know 11 coins sounds crazy but they were maybe 400 a coin then and the prize was .1 coins every 2 weeks.

7766  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: My second bigger mining farm project is coming on: March 04, 2022, 04:16:42 PM
To all the big miners on bitcointalk your attention is needed right now as i'm planning on building a big mining space in style with 50 pieces of RTX3090 graphic cards what and what is the best advice you can give me? Cheap electricity is available so no advice on that needed.. I will surely drop some pic once it's up and running.

I am in disagreement about the 3090's they will work fine but must be set in a proper server case.

I have the following cases.

https://minerdude.com/product/x12012022/

the above case while have 12 slots spaces 3090's too tightly if you buy this case and do 5x  3090's in it with smaller cards it will work fine.

https://minerdude.com/product/minerdude-x12-xtreme-12-gpu-smart-mining-rig-200-277v-only/

the same with this case

I have one with 4 rtx a4000 and 5 3090's zero heat issues.

David from miner dude

now offers this case below it will do 8 3090's with proper power and spacing along with cooling

https://minerdude.com/product/minerdude-x8ultra-plus/

I have yet to test it.

It is shipping to me as I type. I plan on putting 8 3090's into it.

At the moment I have 16 or 17 3090's

I prefer the rtx a5000

https://www.provantage.com/pny-technologies-vcnrtxa5000-pb~7PNY922Q.htm

but they are costly. they do 100mh at 230 watts and are a blower style card

next is the rtx a4500

https://www.provantage.com/pny-technologies-vcnrtxa4500-pb~7PNY9242.htm

they are costly they do 85 mh at 185 watts blower style

both of the above fit and do 12 cards in the 12 card case.

below is a rig with 11 rtx a4500 and 1 rtx a5000
it is my best rig

7767  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I'm suspecting my 1200w power supply on: March 04, 2022, 03:34:17 AM
Okay some generators put out a square wave and not a sine wave

and some psu's are fuck you I want a sine wave not a square wave approximation of a sign wave.

And a 1200 watt psu  running against a 1400 watt gen is not good.

more like use a 2000 watt gen.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B093RB5XH4/ref=sspa_dk_detail_4?

the one above is a 2000/2300 and is sine wave rated

it is likely the bare minimum you need

"About this item
2,300 Peak Watts/ 2,000 Rated Watts
Capable of up to 6 Hours of Operation at Half Load on 1.18 Gallons of Fuel
Compact Suitcase Design, Weighing Less than 47 lbs for Easy Handling
Quiet Operation (59 dB) make it Virtually Silent from just 10 feet away
Stable Sine Wave Technology provides pure, safe electrical power for powering and charging laptops, cell phones, and other sensitive electronic devices"

the key points are
1)stable sine wave tech
2) 2000 constant 2300 peak watts

I have this gen below

https://www.amazon.com/CRAFTSMAN-Craftman-1700-Inverter-Generator/dp/B07P5XRQPR/ref=sr_1_3?

it is pretty much the same as the ford it runs just about anything up to 1200-1300 watts

When the financial system is weaponized, Bitcoin becomes the peacemaker.

Quote
Absolutely nobody in the world thinks any government has handled the pandemic well (other than a sliver of  Zoom-class apparatchiks who were largely unaffected by two years of lockdowns) and corporate media is fast becoming universally reviled.

Secondly, against this backdrop of wholesale loss of credibility and institutional bankruptcy, those in power are getting desperate and increasingly resort to weaponizing the rails of society itself against normal citizens, everywhere:

Russian gov be like : People are starting to use BTCiTcoin !!  Shocked  Shocked

Poutiné: "But we can't tax that!"  Cry  Cry

They could shut the internet down using martial law.

Which would severely lower internet access it would be the real test for BTC.

and price is pushing $44k+

This does not prove BTC looks to work in war torn countries.

But it does help that argument.

Both Urkaine and Russia seem to be using BTC to  help protect their families and aid in fleeing if need be.

Hoping it ends quicker than covid-19 does.

God bless those in harms way.

Yes, China is a big winner here, unfortunately.
Jamie Dimon tries to give a hint about it to the policy makers;

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-02-28/dimon-says-swift-sanctions-may-bring-unintended-consequences

EU/US made China a new Switzerland of sorts. I don't think that it is a good development, on the balance.

US and Europe have done a fucked up job for around 500-600 years.

Maybe China will do better.  Roll Eyes
7772  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining Difficulty when you Started vs. Mining Difficulty Now on: March 02, 2022, 09:15:18 PM
it is still just 1 miner in the pool that finds a block.

It's more like a single asic chip to make it even "worse ", a single S9 chip that hashes at 0.07th hits a block that is worth a quarter of a million $, isn't that crazy?

Quote
Anyone hit any blocks in awhile or is it all pool mining now?

it's probably all pool mining, even the ones that mine solo use a pool to solo mine anyways, there could be a few guys who maintain their node and mine against it, but you can probably count those on the fingers of a few hands.

to mine solo realistically (ie a block a day) takes 2eh

2eh is

20000 s19's!

  2000 s19's = 200,000th or 200ph
    200 s19's =   20,000th or  20ph
      20 s19's =     2,000th or   2ph

so at 8500 a unit 170,000,000.   170 million in gear

and 70,000 kwatts an hour  or 70 megawatts an hour.

so at 4 cent power it is  2800 an hour which is 67,200 a day in power to hit about 1.2 blocks a day and you laid out 170 million in gear

so 1.2 x 6.3 = 7.56 coins a day 332,640 comes in and you burn 67,200 = 265,440 daily  profit  or 96.8 million a year

and that means your did not pay off the s19's n a year.

with fee free mining

I'm not so sure Putin being out of the picture would save any lives.

What I think could have saved a lot of lives would have been USA and NATO not messing around in Ukraine for many many years with full knowledge that Russia (not just Putin) sees it as a serious security threat. Even just acknowledging that Ukraine would never be accepted as part of NATO in the past couple of weeks might have been enough. But instead of doing that, they send in billions of $s in weapons. So yeah, corrupt politicians and giant gov. contractors make billions while the Ukrainian people pay the price.

Looks like BTC price is rebounding, broke out above 41K. Maybe there was a bit of delay between all the Russians pulling money out of their bank accounts to transfer to their crypto exchanges after the swift ban news came out...

A bunch of rich motherfuckers playing the arms game.  This goes back in time for centuries .
7777  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 2022 Diff thread. on: February 28, 2022, 05:44:26 PM
hey i do not know a thing about Putin’s health.

I also know a lot about death and destruction caused by war.

War is business for rich powerful nasty people.

In no particular order

France
USA
Great Britain
China
Russia

have all provided loads of arms to lots of people to get people killed.

And rich dudes made lot of money on sale of arms.

We just watched billions of vaccines get put in peoples arms in the name of saving lives.

So now we watch a war taking lives which in reality is an excuse to sell arms for weapon builders.

So 4 billion shots at 20 bucks a piece is over 80 billion for big pharma “to save life”

and now we will sell billions spent for a war to take lives.

in both cases rich mother fuckers will make money and regular people will suffer.

My years of pro USA and anti Russia are long over as I have seen more then enough to know both lie to gain money and power.

I am saying if a single 69 year guy was to die this year it would say a lot of lives.

In a way Russia is easier to push to peace than USA as Putin is a driving force for the war.
Putin dies of natural causes as many 69 years die ever year this war would end.

Do I think Ukraine is good and Russia is bad nope.

Now in the case of the USA if it was blowing up a country in the name of “peace” if a president dies the vice president takes over and likely keeps the war going .

I must say I'm suprised with certain statements in this thread.

If we want to pretend that blockchains are trustless decentralized ledgers shouldn't we be against censorship/prevention of usage from a large group with common properties of users? (ie users from Russia)
One key point of the word trustless should be that we can allow even bad actors inside the system. Enemies in a war could be perceived as, at most, bad actors (Russian citizens are not Putin). But the system is equal for both sides of war, and outcomes inside the system shouldn't be determined by the morality/just cause or any other philosophical factor. If it is, we end up with trustless decentralized ledger.

When I heard the news that Flexpool banned all russian IPs, I was appalled. If I had something like that happen to me, I would be very disappointed in crypto. This sure isn't a way to make it a global standard.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't recall anyone tried to stop nazis from mining gold, flagging their gold or any other counter measure in a system of value that is gold, during WWII. No one stopped them, after the war, from moving their fortunes to Argentina, Spain etc.

Disclaimer: I'm not from Russia, and I'm against the war.

there is theory and there is practice.

lets say Putin had a covid induced stroke that affects his rationality.

does the rest of the world 🌍 simply allow him to run amuck?

in the name of the blockchains?

well maybe they do and maybe they don’t

but if you told me major exchanges lock coins on people . the fact is they do.

as for covid causing a stroke that affects rationally My bro-in-law had a covid induced stroke and now has dementia. He is fully paranoid and won’t get better. If this happens to any leader of any country they need to be removed from office before they hurt a lot of people.

Do I know if Putin has covid induced mental failure no,but his actions are fairly risky.
