7781  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin shortage - Is it Possible? on: March 23, 2019, 11:12:00 AM
I personally don’t think it would ever come to that point, since the value of bitcoin adjusts to satisfy the demand. I’d like to hear other opinions?

The value rises eventually as the demand rises. Since the supply is fixed, it will not be affected even if the demand will have an exponential growth, as it is predicted in the foreseeable future. The supply, even when it reaches its maximum level, will still be dwindling considering that there are a good number of Bitcoins that have been permanently lost and forgotten. This is still growing until now. So there is no other adjustment but to the value alone. Time will definitely come when .001 BTC is already a treasure.
7782  Economy / Economics / Re: Can bitcoin be worthless? on: March 22, 2019, 02:51:51 PM
Currency failure generally occurs due to the type of hyperinflation, and there is always the potential for technical failure, currency competition, political issues and so on. As the main basic rule, there is no currency that can be considered very safe from failure and difficult times. so is it possible that bitcoin can become worthless?

Well, you answered your question first before asking it. You are quite right in saying that "there is no currency that can be considered very safe from failure and difficult times." There will always be changes in terms of our existing currencies. Their worth and usability as well as safety and efficiency will always be tested with regard to the unique circumstances of every era and age. Bitcoin is not immune to that. We used to have gold and silver and copper and other precious stones. And then we shifted to paper bills and coins. And then we started using cards. Right now we are fast shifting to cryptocurrencies or digital money. Time will come another kind of currency will arise. That's normal.
7783  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Locking Bounty Rewards To Avoid Dumping on: March 22, 2019, 01:55:26 PM
So there's this campaign that I've participated that locked bounty rewards in the hopes of avoiding token dumping. As what I expected, the dumping still happened. What's even funnier is that it is now the bounty hunters who complains unlike before where investors blame bounty hunters  Grin

If there's any coins or tokens that should be locked, it should only be the team's share (or maybe add those given to advisors). Both parties (investors & hunters) have invested either money or time to get their share and they should not be subjected to such restriction.

Instead of locking, teams should just concentrate on other methods such as buy back and loyalty rewards to lessen the chances of price crash.

If a certain project is going that far in order to avoid possible dumping, that means the project is somehow weak. At least, that is how I look at it. If a certain project is confident enough of its product and how it is being promoted as well as the partnerships they have sealed, they should not be worrying too much on a very tiny fraction of their token supply. After all, not every bounty hunter is going to dump their coins. I, for one, always give enough time for projects to reach certain significant milestones and prove their worth. And then of course, if their coins has a promise to offer to investors by way of their products, by the time they hit the exchanges, instead of dumps there will be pumps.
7784  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will you do in 2019? on: March 22, 2019, 11:45:40 AM
I am very positive of the future of crypto. So even if 2019 will be worse than I initially thought, I would still not be leaving crypto altogether. I will continue HODLing and using crypto just the same. This is not something new to me. When I entered crypto way back a few years earlier, I knew there were risks involved. And even if I was too excited and eager to buy and sell, I was taught to be patient the hard way, through a lot of failures. Right now, I am definitely not the same as before. I am not as nervous as before. I can wait with a lot of patience. It is only a matter of time. Success is not an issue anymore; that's something certain.
7785  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2019 will be better then 2017 :) ? on: March 22, 2019, 11:20:03 AM
lets do it, speculation about this.

what is good and bad news about this year?  for example - new forks, ETF s, SEC.

Never mind the news. Whatever the news, there seems to be no effect to the market performance anyway. In 2018, there was a mixture of news, good and bad. However, I never saw even a mild pump that would have at least pushed up the value of BTC and the major altcoins. News follow updates and plans and upgrades. They are meant to deliver them. Nobody could say that the entire 2018 was all about death of start-ups and other negative updates. There were good news of course. However, they all failed to bring back the 2017 prices. Therefore, the year 2019 is a continued battle against the bear market that started in 2018. Nobody could say whether this will be a better year. We will at least target reaching the 2017 performance.
7786  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM's are popping up on: March 22, 2019, 01:26:31 AM
Some businesses in the Las Vegas area have Bitcoin ATM (automated teller machine) for their customers to use:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrL4Zgr6vfw&t=

Actually, Bitcoin ATM (Automated Teller Machine) is not new. A number of them are already installed in selected countries all over the world. There were already Bitcoin ATMs a few years ago. The number is of course increasing as Bitcoin is gaining adoption day after day. The good thing here is that some of these ATMs are not owned by crypto companies. Before, Bitcoin ATMs are owned by them. I am elated to know that the banks, at least in my country, are also joining the party and installed their own versions of Bitcoin ATMs, or crypto ATMs to be exact because they are also catering to altcoins such as ETH and LTC.
7787  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ‘Bitcoin Is Not Money’ Because We Cannot Print It – Banks on: March 21, 2019, 09:11:27 AM
Oh, man. This is one of the shallowest arguments against Bitcoin. We are now at the digital age. I think they are well aware of this. We do not need hard objects anymore. We are getting paperless not just in terms of communication and data but also in terms of money. They themselves are doing this with their credit and debit cards. We already have the likes of Paypal. Even when we buy or trade Gold and Silver we are not actually holding the real thing with our very hands and pass it to the hands of another physically. We are doing them in a virtual way.
7788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should ICOs be regulated on: March 21, 2019, 08:09:48 AM
ICOs should indeed be regulated. We simply cannot do with scammers everywhere. But the responsibility should fall to particular countries. Countries should have strict laws as regards the proliferation of ICOs. They should be putting mechanisms to make sure that their citizens are kept from fraudulent ICOs. But the task is a heavy one. There are hundreds of ICOs. They may start with the basics. For example, the people behind the company. Most scam ICOs are either stealing names and picture or creating bogus ones.

This forum should also have such screening mechanism.
7789  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto is getting ready for nice rally. Are you ready? on: March 20, 2019, 01:10:06 PM
We are at the bottom so there is really no other way but up. Either we linger for a little more while or we will start rising. The movement is rather slow. Prices are stagnant for many of the coins, even the top ones. Bitcoin is moving the same. There are good pumps though. But most of them are happening at the bottom. New coins with smaller caps and volumes I mean. The bull is yet to come.
7790  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoiners now labelled as Right-wing extremists! LoL on: March 20, 2019, 10:45:33 AM
Duh, people calling other people names and labels are a bunch of weird.  The people I knew who adopted Bitcoin much earlier than me were indifferent or at least they simply don't give a damn about politics, much less about which political group they belong. If there was a label proper to them it would be techy nerds. They were even neutral in terms of banks and fiat and monetary system. They just loved the idea of something new or radical. They simply embraced innovation at its finest, which Bitcoin was.
7791  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: RCBC One of Six Global Banks Sign Up to Issue Stablecoins on IBM’s on: March 20, 2019, 09:24:38 AM
There's a lot of bigger news than this and unfortunately it did not cause a bull run.

What I think will cause a bull run is when the whales will start to pump the market and I am seeing it happening soon.
All these good news are very useful but it has their time where it will be recognize and will eventually affect the price.

7792  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Virtual money is really the future of the world in the 4.0 era on: March 19, 2019, 08:44:04 AM
The start of the virtual currencies to get appreciated is very obvious nowadays. For now, the physical money is dying. And although the replacement of cards is still the primary option right now, it cannot be denied that it is still basically fiat money that is ruling the system. Therefore, the inconvenience with fiat is still there. The centralized banking system is still there. The ownership of money is still not in the hands of the very people using them. The need of real ownership, freedom, and decentralization is at hand. Bitcoin is the answer.
7793  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Listing kills a coin? on: March 19, 2019, 02:58:22 AM
I used to invest in ISO and make a profit. Recently, a lot of coins in which I invested fall down after entering the stock exchange. I do not know what to do about it ...

First, it is not ISO. It is ICO. Second, it is not stock exchange where coins or tokens get listed. It is cryptocurrency exchange.

All right. The problem is not with the listing itself. Each and every coin or token will have to be listed on an exchange. It is where investors, traders, and other people interested in the coin or token buy them. As a matter of fact, a lot of coins and tokens are paying fees just so that they get admitted to the exchanges. The problem is that there are dumpers. But then the main factor is the project itself. Nobody would want to dump extremely promising coins or tokens. You just have to remember that.
7794  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SALE SEPT 6] 🚀🚀 AVENTUS 🚀🚀- ANTI FRAUD ANTI TOUTS EVENT TICKETING on: March 18, 2019, 10:13:57 AM
How is this project today? Eerie silence, eh?

This amazing project seems to be losing color as time goes by. I can still vividly recall how Aventus looked very promising at the start. Ticketing seemed to be a real-life issue that needs to be brought into the world of blockchain. That means fairness and honesty will be fully implemented. That looks to me an easy sell. Well, I dunno really. As I can see at the charts, AVT is not performing well. The market is bad, yeah, but AVT never really performed well in the market even before it went bearish.
7795  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why ICO isn't recommended earning site ? on: March 18, 2019, 04:05:18 AM
You are right. ICO is not a good way to earn. I am not saying all ICOs could be lumped together as bad. There are a few good apples. But then the rest, around 90% I guess, are really bad. Either badly designed, planned, marketed, etc. or simply bad because they are scams right from the very beginning. Therefore, in order for one to earn through ICO investments, he or she has to be exceptional in terms of reviewing, researching, and analyzing. Otherwise, he or she better avoid investing in it. There is too much risk.
7796  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin now a stable coin? on: March 18, 2019, 02:30:16 AM
Pls guys any recommendations on ways forward as regard bitcoin trading?...the coin seem to me now as Tether (USDT )...lol

LOL! I have been thinking of the same. Well, a lot of people used to be talking about stability and how it is the one thing that Bitcoin needs for it to be finally accepted by the whole wide world of consumers and businessmen. The same people talks about stability as the one thing that will make Bitcoin the new money, the primary currency of the world. Well, we have been in a stable situation for months now. We are simply hovering somewhere 3,800 more or less. And so what now? I am hearing whimpers, groans, cries, complaints, frustration, despair, and suspensions and death of crypto projects.
7797  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Beaxy - The All-in-One Cryptocurrency Exchange on: March 18, 2019, 01:19:34 AM
I just finished reading the whitepaper and i must say that am very optimistic on this. Too bad i missed the bounty, i can only hope that they will dump some of the price down at the start so i can buy in.

There's much anticipation to this exchange. Even before the scheduled release of their actual product, way back last year, Beaxy has already gained the attention of many. The updates I am reading here and somewhere else such as their social media accounts are so far impressive. They are literally planning to tour the whole world in order for them to propel their platform. They are impressively active as well. But make no mistake, the challenge they have to confront is no joke. All kinds of exchanges seem to be here already. Amaze us more, Beaxy!
7798  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New Bitcoin Movie “Crypto” Shows Hollywood’s Total Misguidedness on: March 17, 2019, 04:09:50 PM
Hollywood has never been a good researcher. They might have produced great artists and even films but they sadly fall short in making sure tiny yet vital details are preserved. Most especially when films are inspired by real events or true to life stories or historical in nature, tiny details are often left unattended to. Well, at the very least they have been made aware of the crypto rise. They will learn more of it as crypto takes the mainstream path.
7799  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto is not a get rich quick scheme on: March 17, 2019, 11:24:21 AM
Actually, crypto used to be that. As a matter of fact, the growth of crypto used to be the fastest way to get rich. You invest in forex, stocks, bonds, real estate, and what have you. They all grow slow as compared to crypto years earlier. Crypto could easily give you a double in your investment in a few months time. However, that is not happening every single day. There are bearish seasons as well. During which, patiently HODLing is the key. And especially in the previous year until now, the bearish season is unbelievably long. Those who are weak will definitely give up.
7800  Economy / Economics / Re: Banks against the crypto on: March 17, 2019, 09:13:00 AM
Decentralization. Everyone is talking about it. Can cryptocurrency lead to the disappearance of banks. Or will banks be able to adjust and remain in power?

I am certain banks will have to adopt to the current crypto sentiment. That is the only way for them to be able to remain relevant in the coming years. They have waged battles against crypto and are still on it until today but we can easily notice how they are also adapting at the same time. That is their safest option as they are well aware of how widely accepted crypto has grown. It is now common to read in the news how banks are already accepting cryptocurrencies, established partnership with crypto companies, even installing crypto ATMs, and so on. This is definitely a winning factor for crypto.
