781  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how much can ripple reach by year end? on: November 30, 2017, 01:50:38 AM
I think it will stay at current price or even lower by the year end which is just one month to go. This coin is promising for me, and I buy more now, but I think the time it reaches to my expected price (~2.5$) is still very long way far from now, maybe 3-4 years.
782  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] dstm's ZCash / Equihash Nvidia Miner v0.5.6 (Linux / Windows) on: November 29, 2017, 04:20:00 PM
I am currently reading through all 73 pages of this thread. Does ZM have some tools for overclocking or do you all use some other tools (xorg.conf)?

Wow, you are so eager for learning. I dont think ZM integrates any overclocking function or tool.
So I think for most of us, we use MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision XOC.
783  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] VIVO - Masternodes, ASIC-Resistant, Secure, High MN Rewards, Decentralized on: November 29, 2017, 12:08:28 PM
Nice. Just bought a 1000 for masternode. What are the daily returns?  Cool can I use my own server?

Welcome to the train! The chart looks good now. So way to go!
784  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what to do if bitcoin decreases? on: November 29, 2017, 07:46:15 AM
I think it is the chance to buy more. The price will be soon recovered. Somebody said this is bubble, it may be true but it should be a long way far in future.
785  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][preICO] CCA - REVOLUTION IN THE WORLD COMPOSITE CYLINDER MARKET on: November 29, 2017, 07:42:44 AM
The idea is nice, but in the roadmap image there are some references, so I wonder could you provide these reference links in the ANN as well.
Thanks!
786  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Building Cheap Miners : My "Secret" on: November 29, 2017, 05:08:57 AM
But I wonder are there any lost in performance when using DDR3 rather than DDR4?
Zero difference between DDR3 and DDR4 for mining purposes.

Thank you very much! I will take a try and see how it's going.
787  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Building Cheap Miners : My "Secret" on: November 29, 2017, 03:13:36 AM
Thank for sharing your great ideas.
All of my rigs are using DDR4 and I'm going to build more, but DDR4 RAM is a way more expensive now while I could find some cheap 2nd hand DDR3. But I wonder are there any lost in performance when using DDR3 rather than DDR4?
788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best Low difficulty Altcoins to mine? on: November 29, 2017, 02:48:58 AM
With RX580 I think you should mine ETH, or low difficulty coin just go with ETN.
For your GTX 1060, check out some neoscrypt and lyra2rev2 coins, even you mined them without any profit now, but some of them may give you good profit in near future.
789  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are most stable alt coins in 2018 on: November 29, 2017, 02:14:55 AM
I think it should be ETH, it's still in the long way of development. I ever attended vitalik buterin's invited talk in a local conference, and as I see his vision is so great.
790  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] dstm's ZCash / Equihash Nvidia Miner v0.5.6 (Linux / Windows) on: November 28, 2017, 01:34:05 PM
i'm trying to use dstm miner, but whenever i want to run the .bat file, it opens and closes immediately

Code:
zm --server stratum+tcp://btg.suprnova.cc --port 8816 --user Pr0ph3t.1 --pass x --logfile --list-devices 0 1 2 3 4 5

Can you mine bitcoin gold with the miner, its equihash right ...

You should remove stratum+tcp, for example simply like this:

zm --server btg.suprnova.cc --port 8816 --user Pr0ph3t.1 --pass x --logfile --list-devices 0 1 2 3 4 5
791  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 19 GPU in one Motherboard on: November 28, 2017, 12:54:03 PM
Prepare sleighs in summer, and the farm in the winter Smiley
Criticize who may have collected similar modular pattern !
2 point for number 4
Staggered arrangement, the bottom card upside down for better air movement.
all 19 cards 106-100

Your designs look very cool!
But I'm curious that in the outtake side, is it better and simpler if you design totally same as intake side?
792  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Received new Desktop in a week with GTX 1070. Worth it to mine? on: November 28, 2017, 08:19:38 AM
Thanks for the advise. I'll look into getting a better power supply. I already tried to set my memory to +600 and was having issues. currently, I am at +350 and will keep pushing it little by little to see how far that I can take it.

I am pretty sure it's a PSU issue. When you want to buy a new PSU keep in mind that you will use it's 80% capacity. For example, an 80+ Gold rated 1000W PSU will give you 80% efficiency. In other words you will be able to utilise 800W from it.

Actually the typical efficiency is about 90-93% at max loading, but for me I also push it just at 80% power limit for stability and safety in long term operation.
793  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold (BTG) on: November 28, 2017, 06:58:09 AM
This popped up with Windows defender when downloading EWBF Cuda Miner 0.3.4b BTG
from https://github.com/poolgold/ewbf-miner-btg-edition/releases

Trojan:Win32/Tiggre!plock

I wanted to try this miner but Not so sure this is legit.  I've seen this before on the forums about
this and it might be a false positive but it seems too specific. Anyone have any ideas...

You should try the legit one from dev sources, both below are the best now I think (for me, I'm using EWBF and mining in suprnova pool, so far so good):

EWBF's miner:

794  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 19GPU B250 Expert users, UNITE! on: November 28, 2017, 05:12:18 AM
Adding my second PSU this weekend. I can just plug it in straight to the Motherboard right? I dont need to get the add2PSU connector right?

I will finally have the power now to maximize the board, now I just need to keep accumulating cards as I ROI them to get the board all filled up.

Yes, these 3 x 24pin are just a daisy chain.

Very impressive s3c70r! Could you share a bit about CPU, RAM, have you used virtual RAM, or any special requirement for your 21 GPUs setting?

Thanks!

i3-7100, 8GB Ram, 32GB virtual RAM.

Cheapest PCIE 1 to 4 extender from aliexpress.

Stable so far.

Thank you very much!
I will take a try again as I get enough GPUs.
795  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: November 28, 2017, 04:59:05 AM
Quick power supply question.. Should I run with econ on?.. or off?  Its a 1300W gold powering 6 1070's.
thx

I think you do not need to turn eco mode on. 1300W is too enough for 6x1070 already. I'm using 1250W to power 6x1070 as well, and I usually run it with about 80% power limit.
796  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Do you switch coins? on: November 28, 2017, 03:48:22 AM
I did not regularly switch, I give most of my hash power to mine only 2 coins, and about the rest ~20% to mine by switching between 3-4 other coins depend on their difficulties after each 2 weeks.
797  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to mine Bitcoin Gold? on: November 28, 2017, 02:50:09 AM
Hi is there any other miner except EWBF for NVIDIA? I am not quite happy with that one as almost half of my accepted shares are going for devfee....shouldn't be this 2% only?

You could try dstm's miner, as I know its performance is a bit better than that of EWBF's.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2021765.0

About the half accepted shares, do you mean the shares in pool vs. the actual shares display in miner's GUI?

798  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptocurrency minable on home PC on: November 28, 2017, 02:06:31 AM
If your home PC has a strong CPU, you could consider to mine XMR, and Burst coin. Burst coin is Proof of Capacity so you need some large capacity HDDs or external storages, I suggest at least 15Tb.
799  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The 5.6 GH ETH Man Mining Shed! Phase 2 Progress Update! ASIC Quiet Tunnel! on: November 28, 2017, 01:59:40 AM
This makes me want to gut the building we have in my back yard we just put a new roof on and do this with less Miners because it's not as big an i may, i live in Maryland so the weather won't be like Texas in the summer, i lived  in Texas  for 2 years once, i have family near fort worth Texas, i could run it all 24/7 an not worry about noise any more in the house an one of my Neighbors told me he would help me remodel, if i do it .

What is stopping you? Come up with a cooling plan, make a sketch. Plan your power, then go! Show some pics.

Good work sir, very impressive indeed, but yun is still my fav Grin

Yun is my hero lol.

Both of you are my hero! I've been followed your and Yun's threads for a while.
I just started small with few rigs and I'm going to setup more soon. The 2 biggest problems I faced are noise and ventilation, then reading you guys'sharing, now I get the balance between them.

So thank you and Yun very much!
