781  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you had a time traveling machine, then? on: May 09, 2023, 01:26:52 AM
Bitcoin is such an uncertain future currency that no one can say for sure what will happen in the future. Hundreds of predictions are constantly being made around Bitcoin. Predictions were made about this valuable currency in the past as well but some have gone down in history by selling this precious currency at a low price.

Martti Malmi sold 5050 bitcoins for $5 at a rate of just $0.00099 in 2009, setting the record for the lowest bitcoin sale in history.

Laszlo Hanycez made history by being the first person to buy a product at the lowest price in exchange for Bitcoin. He made history on May 22, 2010 by selling 10,000 Bitcoins for just $40-$45.

Our forum admin sir has sold his 160 bitcoins at a rate of only $0.003 on exchange for $0.48.

Pic collected: Source

Not only here but also in the past hundreds of Bitcoins have been traded which is amazing to see today. Those who traded Bitcoin at that time are now only regretting it and those who bought and held Bitcoin at that time, it is amazing to think how much their fortunes have changed today.

If you could travel back in time today, what would you do?

Wow! Learned something new today. Tough luck for those guys. Honestly at that point you just have to realize that you were never destined to be a stinking crazy rich person. Maybe gonna have to lower that bar homie and just settle for becoming a modest millionaire after spending one's whole life working your ass off and amassing it all by the time you're too old and can't enjoy it anymore, just like the rest of us hahahahah jk 😉
782  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Aliens accept BTC, What about newborns? on: May 09, 2023, 01:19:23 AM
Let's say we run into some other species will they accept a 95% premined supply?
Yes bitcoin is 95% premine to anyone coming into contact with it for the first time today.

Chances are they are more advanced than us let's say

Do you think the aliens will accept bitcoin

What about newborns?

I think they would be foolish not too! How else are they going to fund new UFO spaceships in the future when BTC is 1 milli per coin !!!! I feel like aliens should definitely more inclined to want to be a part of some computer system though since they're so high tech ya know. I mean if aliens actually exist I think it wouldn't take long for them to gravitate towards bitcoin on earth if they ever established themselves on this planet. Lol MIB shit rh
783  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Fun Question Here] Where Would You Live As a Bitcoin Millionaire? on: May 07, 2023, 04:18:30 AM
When I was at the Bitcoin 2021 Conference in Miami I met an interesting fellow that wasn't even a Bitcoiner at the conference. One of his buddies from California was one of the first employees at Coinbase and so he went to the conference just to see him again after 10 years. While we were in line to get our food he told me all about his plans to vacate the US to another country, he was bidding for citizenship in this strange land that opened up their citizenship (I honestly can't remember where this was, the way he explained it to me sounded like a scam lmao). Anyhow he bragged about how he had millions and this and that, anyways this guy was set on going to costa rica for good & getting out of the US, and he had a few fall back plans if that didn't work. He had already worked out the exit tax to revoke his citizenship and that incurs a pretty good ding doing that. It was pretty interesting, never met anyone that wanted to leave america as much as this guy, and he was born and raised here too.
784  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Montana bitcoin enthusiasts are now protected by the law. on: May 07, 2023, 01:56:00 AM
Wow! This is remarkable, I hope the rest of the states follow suit! That would be such a huge win for the US. The part where it says that no crypto payments are subject to taxes is very nice. It sounds like Montana is on the right track, I feel like Wyoming will be next....
785  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Negative influence of bitcoin on: May 07, 2023, 01:52:12 AM
Every good thing has side effects, I believed bitcoin ha play roles of changing lives and improving digital structural economy. But bitcoin also has negative damnation on lives by impoverishing people of their spare resource and income. Today I want point out some negative impact of bitcoin on societies such as:
1. Bitcoin is not easily understood by people with no knowledge of it, at such scam and fraud is high on them.
2. No refund to anyone who incurs loss through keys, seed phase or fraud.
3. Privacy- bad people trying to give bitcoin bad name by faking bitcoin apps and site.
4. Cyber hacking - cyber wizards an fraudsters makes people to loss bitcoin wallets and money.
5. Price vitalities - bitcoin price is unpredictable and nobody as monopoly of the market.

The only thing that I think you forgot is that you can't hold it in your hand/ physical. But this is also a double edged sword. If you had to move your entire life savings what better way to move and flee to another country (think refugees or something).
786  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / Re: Pros vs. Cons on Android for Bitcoin on: May 07, 2023, 01:48:46 AM
You got sick of iOS and now using Android device. That means you got sick of a mobile wallet and now using a mobile wallet.

Mobile wallets are online wallets and not safe and secure like cold wallets. Do not hold more than what you can afford to lose on a mobile wallet. Get yourself a cold wallet instead for large amount of bitcoin.

As for Android bitcoin wallets, you have many supported wallets like Electrum and Bluewallet.

As for security, only hold the amount you can afford to lose on mobile wallet. Be careful of malware.

Haha yeah, I was sick of the jam so I got the jelly instead, or is it the other way around? Oh I don't know.

Definitely agree with you on the mobile wallets, its just as bad as keeping money on an online exchange IMO. Everything that scammers and hackers can do to these days is wild. I wish there was a way to create a defense bot for your own devices. Like a ninja bot to deter scammers or intrusive users on a device's IP that scans for like unusual activity or something, is there such a thing?
787  Other / Meta / How much Merit have you given/ received? I'm gonna need about tree fiddy on: May 07, 2023, 01:34:04 AM
Sooooo I just took a look at my merit and its exactly 350 as of writing, i'm actually not sure how much I have given out but i'm actually curious now as to what my give/take ratio is! I am trying to be more cognizant of giving credit where credit is due. If anyone has any good posts they think are worthy and deserving of merit would you be so kind as to post it in the comments?

Anyways every time I see that number I just can't help but think of the South Park episode w/ the couple talking about the Lock Ness Monster asking them for $3.50 lmaooooo here is the video on YT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuh8Hip_B3w On another note, has South Park made any Bitcoin references recently? That other one on the Bank of China call in the restaurant about banning bitcoin gets me every time lmao.
788  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is it ethical for a company to have robots sell coins to humans and not know? on: May 07, 2023, 01:19:44 AM
If there is profit to be made, ethics become less important.
Why employ a human when robots don't call in sick, take vacations/lunch breaks and can work 24/7 without hesitation.

Entire industries will transform into human-free work environments with the rise if ChatGPT/AI,etc

-Soon there will be no truck drivers/taxi drivers.... self-driving cars
-Soon there will be no warehouse workers.... thanks Bezos
-Soon there will be no fast-food workers.... thanks Frybot
-Soon there will be no hotel staff.... robot maids/self-check-in
-Soon there will be no farmers... AI can do it better
-Soon there will be no actors/singers/movie stars... all replace by AI

And why are the only things that have gotten bigger/better/cheaper with technology are televisions? Huh

That is where it becomes scary, because at that point who is to blame when things go wrong? The makers? The governments? They will just blame an error on tech when really whatever happened is probably part of some larger grand scheme or plotting, or worse the AI takes over humanity. On the plotting / scenario 1 I infer is exactly what a power hungry elite would want. Remove all blame on or any trace back to the original source and profit like 7 different ways out of it, I mean thats exactly what they did with the Covid Scam, isn't it?  And scenario 2 well that is just a grim looking future, we might need to gear up in order to fight back. Do you want your Iron man suit in Hot Rod Red or Matte Black? hahhahahh Soon all of what you stated will definitely come to pass, and much more. I mean it will literally change everything, and even the televisions of the future won't even come close to the TVs of today. There actually won't be TVs at all it'll be called a light box or something and be a hologram lol.
789  Other / Politics & Society / Is it ethical to have robots sell coins to humans that don't know its a robot? on: May 06, 2023, 08:26:09 PM
Hey Everyone,

I work for a telemarketing coin company that specializes in gold, silver, and other precious metals in all shapes and sizes. Recently my boss has employed Chat GPT to be utilized within our internal systems to make our jobs easier for coin research, script writing, as an assistant, email checking, basically for whatever I want that can help me in my sales efforts. This has been extremely helpful for developing great pitches on limited or one of a kind coins to be used as a reference as needed, seeing as he has many of those types for sale and oftentimes it can be difficult to make someone understand the true uniqueness and rare qualities that make something a great growth asset, that is, something that someone will buy in the hopes that it appreciates in value. I have to always be thinking out of the box because you cannot legally say the word "investment" over the phone for direct consumer telemarketing sales unless you hold a Series 7 license, which I do not. Anyhow this tech has been really helpful in the writing of the pitches that I use only for eye reference when I am literally in the middle of a call with a prospect, or need to answer some question from a numismatic perspective on the fly, etc. Pretty cool fun toy, most sales professionals today don't have this, yet. But I do, and i'm loving it and honestly Chat GPT is so flipping cool!!!!

Anyways, my boss's vision is to utilize the tech to help us sell gold and silver coins via telemarketing, but honestly he has not held back in telling us that these robots can and will replace our jobs if we are not in the top 10% of all the employees lol. This is the stat we are all seeing, and frankly my boss isn't the only one looking at this, I feel like any good company would and should be looking into how this can benefit your business by generating higher profits, but these higher profits come at a cost, and honestly are they even ethical? I mean he isn't the first person to have this idea, this is already literally being done and i've received numerous calls. The tech just isn't there yet, we can detect when a robot is calling us. His intentions with this technology have been made known, and he is working with the AI to literally be used to become the new "account opener" for those not in sales this is simply any new business development. Opening new accounts open new profit funnels to new prospects through qualified paid leads, at least that is how he does it. In this case it is for high value, graded, rare coins. I mean it is literally man vs machine now I feel like, and I have been thinking this or some time. It is scary and weird, but also slightly cool still I guess IDK LOL. A lot of jobs are at risk here. Its not a matter of if but when.

In my opinion you can never replace the pure genuine qualities that only a human can possess. The ability to react with true emotion and feeling and express that in a form of gratitude or empathy towards another and fully understand, based off of their stimulus to you their emotional state and form an appropriate, and true response. This isn't just for sales but any job that needs to be replaced by some mindless and feelingless electric being that is both systematically created and computationally exact. I mean that is valuable but I honestly can foresee a future where these jobs have been replaced but after all is said and done I feel that some companies and people will literally pay a fee to get the human interaction, to get something real and genuine. After all, who can create a meaning relationship with a robot that can take a client golfing or treat out to dinner when conducting such business? This is only a mere example and sort of a niche one at that but you get my point. These are very odd times, indeed.

Can't wait to get some feedback on all this. Okay so the breakdown and what I would love feedback on recap: What do you think of using chat GPT for business and also for phone sales, is it ethical if the end prospect doesn't know they are a robot? Also, will robots replace human jobs to the point that it will put entire industry class professionals out of business? Do you think that the human emotional connection can be replaced by robots?
790  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / When You Can Hear The Pin Drop on: May 05, 2023, 04:37:11 AM
This is actually a story. I first learned of Bitcoin in Central Park, NY. Someone approached me and my friends, explaining to us what it was but one of the members in our group dismissed it as a scam and we carried on with our day. This was in 2010.

In 2014 a fellow college student sent a message to me and a group of maybe 60 or more people encompassing BTC and its value proposition. While it looked familiar to me I was being studious at the time, trying to simply focus and brushing this message to the side.

In 2017 we saw it on the news rise to 1k, then 2, 3, 4, around that time is when I was working in the corporate world in a corner of a large office building surrounded with cubicles. It was at that moment when I saw my computer screen I stood up when you could literally hear a pin drop in the room. It was in the afternoon and nobody was making calls lol. So I rose and spoke aloud very firmly, and with meaning: "What do you guys think about bitcoin?" At that moment 15 colleagues in the surrounding area instantly jumped up with excitement! Thats when I knew bitcoin was going to be something. I finally realized that this was something truly special. Ever since then I would consider myself somewhat of a "Bitcoin Enthusiast"

From then on I went to form a Bitcoin ATM industry focus when I started seeing BTMs (Bitcoin ATMs) pop up at gas stations all over the place and knew they needed an ISP to conduct their business, which is what my company specialized in. Everybody needs internet. I generated most of my business through Bitcoin ATMs and one Gas to Electric Generator Bitcoin Miner operation. Overall this was a very fun experience, I have since moved on to a new endeavor. I am very excited about this one!

I hope you enjoyed a little glimpse into my past, I am surely having some fun reminiscing. Everyone should make sure to take a little extra time for themselves to stop and smell the roses. Time flys, and in the famous words of Ferris Bueller "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it"
791  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / Re: Pros vs. Cons on Android for Bitcoin on: May 05, 2023, 04:25:20 AM
In my opinion, there isn't a clear winner between Android and Apple iOS when it comes to anything crypto related. Both platforms have their own strengths and weaknesses as operating systems, and both Android and Apple iOS are capable of supporting crypto-related apps. Apple iOS is proprietary software available exclusively on Apple devices, while Google Android is an open-source operating system used by a variety of smartphone manufacturers, which makes it more flexible and adaptable than its competitors. This means that Android users have access to a wider range of crypto-related apps and features. Plus, with Google Play Store's relaxed app submission guidelines, there are more crypto-related apps available for Android users to choose from. However, Android's open platform can also make it more susceptible to security vulnerabilities, so you'll want to be extra careful when it comes to protecting your crypto assets. Apple's App Store, on the other hand, is more restrictive in terms of the apps it allows, and this can actually be an advantage when it comes to security. Apple's stricter guidelines mean that users are less likely to download malicious apps from the official store.

So, whether you prefer one platform over the other based on factors such as user interface, app or device availability, or any other factors is entirely a matter of personal choice.

Great write up FatFork, this is exactly what I was looking for. Did you use Chat GPT to spruce up your response a bit? haha, just kidding.
792  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / Pros vs. Cons on Android for Bitcoin on: May 03, 2023, 05:58:51 PM
So I now own an Android, I got sick of apple and wanted to change things up.

I'm genuinely interested to know what are the real pros vs. cons on owning one vs. apple?

Especially in the sense for BTC or crypto purposes in, how does android compare for anything crypto related vs. Apple?

Are they way ahead of the game here? Are they behind? I feel like both appear to want to be more crypto user friendly.....

793  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The word "Coin" - A new meaning on: May 03, 2023, 05:54:36 PM
Coins will always be just that, coins haha. Digital Currency is the term you are looking for here. Coins will most commonly always be referred to units of exchange whether they be gold, silver, copper, or some mix of alloys we find here today. The coins you're getting these definitions from refer to the minting and assayers who physically stamped chunks of gold and silver. Back in those days oftentimes all coins looked very different, even though they had the same design. Thats why you see the 'bits or pieces' in that definition. Also may reference the pieces of eight, AKA COBS. I see what you mean though, bitcoin and crypto do bring a new meaning to the word "coin" per say...
794  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HODLing Bitcoin isn't merely an "investment" on: May 03, 2023, 05:46:17 PM
I saw a post made by someone in which he told his story about his investment in Bitcoin and how it helped him go through the financially challenging times that the COVID-19 pandemic brought. A good, heart-warming  story by a fellow Bitcoiner, BUT we shouldn't forget that simply HODLing/owning Bitcoin could also be a kind of political movement, because its features could make Bitcoin weaken or break down political strongholds.

It might be premature to call it a revolutionary movement, but what were the motivations of the early cypherpunks when they were building their tools? Satoshi's message in the Genesis Block is also political.

 Cool

Its not political, its financial. The whole genesis block talked about the banks being bailed out, exactly what is happening today! When politics are involved this is when you get mixed messages. Everything political today is now "fake news" news has been bought out, you can't buy out bitcoin though! Bitcoin is everything but political its a system designed to take politics out of the money picture, bitcoin is just pure potential IMO!
795  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Halving only 1 year away on: April 30, 2023, 06:09:36 PM
Twice as difficult to mine definitely throws a pick axe into the work required just to mine half of what they used to! Once the halving occurs the price should definitely go up simply by lower supply and higher demand!! History usually repeats itself, every halving its gone up. If bitcoin doesn't go up when this thing halves i'm going to be utterly shocked.

Nice job you three. I am happy with everyone else too (a few can improve but not as bad as to be removed yet).

We don't have an OPEN slot however if you think you are someone who is a good fit for GREEN ZONE then feel free to apply.

Hey Royse,

Great job with the campaign/s, I am loving these new Green Zone spots! It really adds a lot of incentive. Get better and better every day. I hope to work my way up to earn a slot where the grass is green zone Cool. I have ramped up my output for week 26, last week I was inundated with family visiting in town and I appreciate your understanding on my lack of activity for those reasons. You should expect to see a new consistency from me with a strive for the quality standard we uphold in this campaign and i'm looking forward to it! This is a major priority to me, and I know that I can only get better from here, as i'm sure we all can! Have an amazing rest of the week.

Cheers,

797  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Thinking of creating a silver poured DIY or Loaded 1ozt and 2ozt silver rounds! on: April 30, 2023, 04:48:42 AM
I would be willing to assist for sure. I also have a 2oz piece going to offer here probably right after Miami. Taking one to Miami to gauge interest.  Having a friend make em, then I would key them and sell em.

can help with anything 3dprinted as well. I have a few Smiley

Perfect! Well that solves that problem as well haha. We can work out all the details, lets plan to meet up at the show! Also, that is going to be so sick! The 2ozer silver poured chunks are definitely some of my favorites, can't wait to see the prototypes for both of these new crypto pours!
798  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Thinking of creating a silver poured DIY or Loaded 1ozt and 2ozt silver rounds! on: April 30, 2023, 03:51:38 AM
Just an update. In full transparency this project hasn't been anywhere near the top of my list of to dos/ priorities right now. But it is still ON the list!!!

I am going to need to do these things first before I can make this project a reality:

1. I need to hire some graphic design expertise to create a new bitcoin centric design in the form of a vector image file. Vendor/Design TBD.

2. I need to send this vector image file to steel stamp creation company for the physical piece of metal I am going to be slamming my hammer into against these silver 1ozt or 2ozt rounds! Pretty crucial! Vendor is vetted just need to finalize on the design. Vendor Chosen.

3. I am going to need to come up with the actual sales post/ pre order which I will have paid in advance to fund the project. (damn I probably should have made this one #1 haha.  To be posted.

4. I need to follow up with Mopar (who has agreed to help w/ the key generation / holo ordering) So need to finalize the holo selection / style on that as well and work - still pending/ TBD.

5. Once all of this leg work is done it'll be off to the forge to smelt/ pour silver into rounds, polish, anneal (heat silver w/ torch to soften and immediately stamp), Quench, apply an antique finish (potentially), and then create divot/ hole on the back for the PK / holo covering on the back. Final polishings. Stamping the serial number on the side of the round. I will be conducting this tedious process myself. TBD

6. I will also need to then perhaps 3D print a custom casing for this. That means i'll need to make some tweaks to the old 3D printer and find an expert to help design a custom fit case w/ magnets as well. This will be a whole project in itself. 3D print designer expertise TBD

7. Stickers- man stickers are just a must have!!!! If you don't have a super awesome cool sticker are you even flipping legit?! lmao. Vendor TBD

8. Almost forgot about the COAs. Wow that would have been a shame if I put in all this work and never made these lol. COA design / material and format TBD. (open to any suggestion on what you think looks best).

9. Wait and see what happens/ get feedback / contemplate on future designs/ releases! This is pretty much the goal!

Thats basically all I can think of that would need to be done in order to provide something of high quality, hand crafted w/ a thoughtful design and coordinated effort on the key generation. The fun touch will be the 3D printed cases (at least that is my vision for now, could change). Let me know if I missed anything!

As of right now there is no TBD date on when I can get all of this completed, but here is the update with everything that needs to be done on my end to make it a reality. I am open to all and any feedback, recommendations for designers preferably in US that have experience in coin design graphic design/ perhaps also a recommendation for someone who can help design a custom fit 1 oz and 2oz silver pour 3D printed case. Open to any ideas pertaining to the making of this custom silver smithed crypto series! Its going to be a lot of fun. I just can't wait to bring them to life. Just be patient with me & I will do my best to bring something new and fun for our crypto collectors here on BTALK Cheesy

800  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An RV vehicle, BTC and the open world to explore. on: April 30, 2023, 03:29:14 AM
I think that lifestyle could definitely be fun, but also perhaps lonely. If you're a lone wolf or you got your significant other or a friend/s doing this with you that you enjoy their company I could see every day being a new adventure. As far as utilizing BTC for this, if it were me i'd probably get that BitPay card so I could have some form of payment option. Obviously internet would be a must, kind of ironic though isn't it. Getting off grid just to get back on it in a wireless fashion haha. Kind of counter intuitive. Anyways, yeah i'd definitely get like a cradlepoint or some 5G router with dual SIMs/ a satelite phone and a really dope radio. Other than that a suited up RV and enough BTC to get you through would make for an epic movie plot, wouldn't it? Even more epic lifestyle I would have to say. I would LOVE to do something like this in the future. RVs have always been something i've had my eye on down the road (Pun intended).
