Thanks for the help. Got two instances running one stick will do no more than 300mhz and the other no more than 350mhz. Any high and they drop out. Can’t figure out how you guys are running them so high.

Nice, I'm sitting at 350 myself. Waiting to figure out better cooling. Think that's your issue? they get to hot and throw nonce? I'll might try to hit 375 an 400 this week if I get the chance to sit around tinker.

3D printing I wonder what we have access to? I think makerbot? They any good 419?

Yea, I don't have much hash but all of it sits here except when I game slushs shitty scoring system on a luck run.

I've only been mining a little over a year now and have been through a dozen or so pools. -ck's is by far the fairest scoring there is, with zero fee's, and no baiting of whales to join.

Real miners mine here imo.

Summmary from a Saturday of rearranging the system...

After much mucking about, the end result is pretty good:
The 9 NewPacs are rock solid - no `missing nonces' and such. 6 @ 550 MHz and 3 @ 475 MHz in a `3 by 3' set of cgminer instances... I pulled the 2Pacs out of the Eyeboot USB3.0 Hub... they can have a rest until the new 2.0 hubs arrive... well, all but one 2Pac which is quietly running at 200 MHz in its own cgminer instance... the Terminus is also running happy at 250 MHz, also in its own cgminer instance...each type of GS `flavor' is on its own controller and hub... Lots of fans everywhere...All miners, including the one suspect of the six new arrivals from yesterday are running at or within 1/2 percent of expected hashrate...solid, solid and solid... I'm not the least bit panicked about heat and the 9 NewPacs have been running for 14 hours in this configuration... still show as GSH 0, 1 and 2 on each cgminer - with no restarts. If I haven't said so before, these NewPacs are fantastic...

There's no point in calling them impossible or unbelievable. They clearly have happened!

Nice, glad everything is humming a long. Any shots of the set up?

Anyway to apply a specific freq to each stick on the same hub?

Have to run multiple batch files with "--usb :1" in the line along with the change in freq. I think there's a way to target specific ports but I don't recall how to do that.
785  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience NewPac Stickminer Official Support Thread on: December 09, 2018, 02:33:32 AM
I've looking at cheap tablet stand to support the fan above but this might be interesting to play with. I'm using two 140mm fan now. one above and one from the side.

Edit to add:

my desktop is modular with bays. I've been thinking of trying to set a hub inside a bay with two fans from and back since the newpacs for me have have close to zero issues or "zombies". Sidehacks hub has a six pin and might try to find a way to use a sata cable if that possible. Or maybe just a pipe dream.

Omg, you might have been better off with those "aging" sticks. At least we know who to blame for our luck atm. Wink
787  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Innosilicon Terminator 3 on: December 08, 2018, 04:47:32 PM
I imagine the the lack of US "demand" thanks to tariffs is also making a our hardware section of the forum a little more quiet.

Maybe we'll be able to get more response for demo's of their product. Though inno typically does videos showcasing performance. But I agree, with the physical proof philosophy as well.

Work is work, a hash is a hash. Glad to have you, pull up a chair.

-ck, what're we drinking again?
789  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Innosilicon Terminator 3 on: December 07, 2018, 03:37:45 PM
First batch wasn't slated to ship till mid/late Jan. Second is posted on their website for mid March. So imagine they're still in production.

T2T+? I can't remember if that was the 25T or 32T at this point.

32T batch should be hitting doors. Is there an order you want to DM me to check on? Or maybe we'll get a reply here soon.
790  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Canaan "Flash Sale" on: December 06, 2018, 08:46:27 PM
Essentially it's the same process regardless who "distributes". Buyers either deal with customs through mark up or tackle it themselves.

This post was before the "Flash Sale" emails came out. That sale kind of invalidated the group buy IMHO.

I wouldn't think so. 20-50 people sign up for a sick deal on upgrades to their canaan farms is still possible. Duties can be tricky but not overly complicated to tackle.
791  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Canaan "Flash Sale" on: December 06, 2018, 04:01:53 PM
Group buys, a novel idea. . .. Best way to bring asics into the states right now. Is this were I plug a certain website?

I didn't see verbiage about a 50 unit MOQ anywhere but at this point we all know the sale is legit. Controllers are a good price right now with Canaan as well and their psu (just psu is only 1600w if I remember correctly).

I wonder if their still in the "vanity" UI? Click "advanced version" to access more controls.

settings> system > backup/flash firmware.

A little pump is nice, no one is going to complain about more hash. There are a few here that push some rentals in at times.

I don't think it's a bad idea for finds. But for just ramp up is all we're warning about. I think most here are all about drinking scotch and smashing blocks. Wink
794  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [55PH] ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool US/DE/CN on: December 06, 2018, 06:11:25 AM
There isn't much of a need to worry about being fully ramped up as every hash you submit counts regardless. I would look at others on active mining list that have similar hash rates and speculate from there but I think your 0.1 BTC estimate is pretty close looking at the pool this second.
795  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon 8 official specs released on: December 06, 2018, 05:59:06 AM
Make sure you downloaded from the 20181128 (OpenWrt) and 2018-11-26 (MM) directories. The directories labeled latest have not been updated and therefore still contain OpenWrt and MM firmware from March 2018.

I followed the links you gave earlier in the thread. I'm not sure with the performance I'm getting if I'll change anything yet before I get a read on the draw. On another pool I get small drop in hash average about 19th/s and on ck's 21 th/s, at "0".

Not sure about your formula but best answer is: variables will change so any math will as well. I'd use CG's tool to help but with that kind of hashing you'll know after a few days where your derp will lay for this coming block.
797  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience NewPac Stickminer Official Support Thread on: December 06, 2018, 05:28:22 AM
Ubuntu machine and cgminer running solid.

However, I came home to one of the NewPacs in a loop showing "0 chips found" and trying to restart

Tried changing hubs, solo instance, different computers all to no avail.

I have all of my NewPacs running at 200MHz and 860mV with ample cooling.

Is there anything else I can try or test for before sending it in for repair?

I had the same issue with a 2pac recently. Took a few attempts to to start hashing again. But essentially when I dropped the clock on it, it started right up. Let it warm up and then upped it again. Maybe worth a shot before sending back.
798  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon 8 official specs released on: December 05, 2018, 03:42:30 PM
I imagine I did the incorrect firmware?

FC's hashes are consistent with what you were receiving.

I speculate I'm using less power with a hash rate decrease but its just not as substantial. I updated the mm then flashed the controller.
799  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon 8 official specs released on: December 05, 2018, 03:14:44 PM
I wonder if I have the right firmware then. I up clocked to "0" before calling it day about 9 hours ago and they're hashing about 10th/s each on the 821's I have.

openwrt-brcm2708-bcm2710-rpi-3-ext4-sdcard

and

MM821.mcs

is what I flashed last night.

Nice, sounds good.

Yea everything here is moving through 3.0 to but the gekko hub is 2.0. Maybe I'll try on 2.0 ports for AB (then I don't think that's my issue). I have the three newpac (350 mhz) and three 2pac (200 mhz) on each usb chain I was told the hub has. I had it filled but was getting a 2pac zombie here and there on the chain with three ports. So I just popped it out and ran the newpacs up to 350. I'll try and replace with another two from the secondary hub running.

Besides the issues with AB I have yet to have a newpac go "off" or "zombie" on me. Perfection for the most part. I'd talk more about the hub but I shouldn't. I'll just be upping clocks every few days and knocking on wood to hit block, especially with diff down.

I run everything in separate batch files and the 2pacs on 4.10 still seemed to like the OC's better than 4.11 imo. Then I attest a lot of my issues to user error. Roll Eyes
