I've got a question regarding transactions.

It says my expected payout per block is .00016532 (I know it's not a lot, but its more of a learning process for me right now)

My worker is sitting with roughly 54,000 accepted blocks.  I've never seen it get that high. I'm wondering why it hasn't been transferred over yet?

Sorry if this isn't the place to ask, but I'm concerned there is an issue on my end or something.
I think you mean '54,000 accepted shares', not blocks. Blocks are what the pool is trying to solve; shares are what each miner submits. On average, miners have to submit about 2.2 billion shares in order for one lucky share to solve a block. Sometimes the pool is lucky and a block is solved with less submitted shares; sometimes the pool is unlucky and it takes more than that.

The pool has been trying to solve the current (unlucky: 6.5 billion shares so far) block for 20.75 hours now; when the block is solved, you will see your 0.00016532 BTC awarded. But until it does, none of us will see any earnings.

Yes, I meant shares, LOL!

Thanks for the explanation.

We already accept stolen money from every day purchases, so yes.
784  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pay your bills in canada with bitcoin on: January 29, 2014, 12:55:25 AM
Found this on coindesk, this will be amazing if we can get it in other countries, Id certainly use it in the UK.

Canada seems to be leading the way in terms of bitcoin innovation.

I'd definitely say we are.  First ever atm in Vancouver, another opened in Toronto a few weeks back. More and more companies are taking Bitcoin here everyday.

It's really cool to see it take off here. Some are saying that Canada will be the Silicon Valley of Bitcoins.

*edit* apparently there is an atm in Ottawa as well.

I've had the odd issue with it.  It could be worse though...
786  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there any btc offer sites that are easy and actually worth my time? on: January 28, 2014, 09:59:01 AM

One of my favorite sites to earn bitcoin is:

http://coinbycall.com/

Basically you call a number and leave your phone off the hook.

It works best with a landline or a cell phone with unlimited minutes...

The pay out per minute is really small, but this takes almost no work whatsoever,

I just call after midnight and leave it going, it will hang up every couple hours or so, just call back.

Pay out is at 0.01 btc.... I've got payment proof, check out my signature.

If only there was a Canadian number...
787  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Is it worth investing in USB Block Erupters? on: January 28, 2014, 08:03:32 AM
If you could convince someone to sell you a box full of Block Erupters at about $1 each, then they'd be great. At about $5/each, they'd be so-so (and still about to be obsoleted, cost-wise). Anything more than that, and they're just not worth the cost anymore.

But people are still willing to buy them, which is where I see the value.  I picked up 10 of the .333 asics the other day for $15 each.  They are going for upwards of $40 each where i live, sure i could unload for $30 or so.

I'm trying to figure out what the re-sale of antminer sticks might be a month, or 3, or 6 months from now.  Will their value still hold going forward?

Thanks for sharing your story.

Makes me want to learn more about Bitcoins and keep mining, even if it is just a hobby.

Think I'll take your advice, buy a coin or 2, and just sit on them and see what happens.
789  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there any btc offer sites that are easy and actually worth my time? on: January 28, 2014, 07:44:27 AM
Hello everyone just wondering if there are any sites that allow users to earn bitcoins that are actually worth the time you have to put in?

I've been using this: http://freebitco.in/?r=244824

It doesn't seem too bad considering the effort I put in for a return.
790  Economy / Economics / Re: What happens to mining if the price of Bitcoin tanks? on: January 28, 2014, 07:37:32 AM
I don't think anyone can really answer this. I don't think Bitcoin will tank in such a fashion though. I also think these companies that are sinking so much into mining hardware are not doing it just to mine bitcoin. They have bigger plans. When I read about the $5 Million Dollar investment from CoinSeed, all I could think of is a company like Coca Cola or some other large company coming out with their own coin to replace all the stupid ass reward systems that they currently have in place. They'll need someone to process the transactions. If you think about all of the dumb point systems there are and imagine them getting replaced by bitcoin related technologies, you can see how any hardware investment into Bitcoin may have a lasting presence beyond Bitcoin itself.

Interesting, I've never really thought about it that way. I don't really see it tanking either, but it's still an interesting concept.  I guess there would be many options to try to boost the value if it ever did though.  I guess we would see the market flooded by a lot of cheap mining equipment from people freaking out though.

Can the difficulty actually go down though?

HI new here and just wanted to say hi to everyone  Grin Grin Grin

Welcome.  Been here about a week and have to say this is one of the nicer forums, many people willing to help out.

If you're interesting is an hourly roll for a small amount of coin, look here: http://freebitco.in/?r=244824

You can even try to multiply your winning, I've had no luck though.
792  Economy / Economics / What happens to mining if the price of Bitcoin tanks? on: January 28, 2014, 06:54:43 AM
Hey all,

I've been wondering this since I started to get into it.  What happens if the price of Bitcoin tanks?  We see these huge companies sink tonnes of money into mining farms.  If the price tanks, do they continue to mine at a huge loss or just shut them down?  Would the difficulty ever go back down to try to boost the price?

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere.
793  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Question regarding price of the Antminer U1 USB Block Erupter 1.6Gh/s sticks on: January 27, 2014, 10:22:48 PM
Hey there,

Started mining around a week ago for fun and to see if I could figure it out.

I picked up 10 of the 300MH/s for $15 bucks each a few days ago. Now I'm looking into the antminers, whats good price for them?

I'm in Vancouver Canada.  I see them going for upwards of $150 bucks and more.

The seller had a deal for $49 each a few days ago. I wouldn't buy one for more than $60. Not that you'll probably ever get ROI on them, fwiw.

Which seller?

I'm not really worried about making enough to cover the cost of them if I can find them cheap enough.  I'm pretty sure i could turn around and sell
the ones I bought for $15 each for more than I paid for them.

I plan on doing the same with the antminers eventually, if i can find 10 or 20 cheap enough.
794  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question regarding the Antminer U1 USB Block Erupter 1.6Gh/s sticks on: January 27, 2014, 10:40:57 AM
They're on amazon for $60 usd...

Yeah, I found that out while searching, but is that a good price?

There must be cheaper prices out there.

This is where Ive started. Any comments?

I've been using it for a week or so.  I like it. Sadly I'm only up to 2 referrals though.   Undecided

I also like the fact i can disable auto payout. I see no reason to pay out when I only have such a small amount of coin.

I managed to roll a 09909 the other day. Only time I've rolled beyond the typical payout.

I've come up empty on the multiply BTC. Just seems to be there to take back what they give you from rolling.

Whats the largest number others have rolled?

I have a question regarding the perks section. Not really sure where to look, and can't find a thread about it.

My question regards the Easy mode.  Is it worth the extra .50% extra? Will me results me that much better?

Also, the prepay BTC, is there a real chance that a block will be orphaned?

At the end of the day, I don't mind the donations. Just curious about what all of them do. The explanations provided
confuse me a little. Only been mining for under a week.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers!  Smiley

There is some info about worker difficulty and the easy mode perk here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=27062.msg3142713#msg3142713

Some blocks do get orphaned, but this is much less frequent than it used to be.

Thanks you.

What you described is the RoboCoin Bitcoin ATM.  There's been one at Waves Coffee in Downtown Vancouver since October,
