Darkcoin Core v0.11.0

Sh*t. This stuff is awsome.

10 developers ? (/people)

That blows me away.

People who helped a lot (even more people than this participated, it's absolutely fantastic):

Me, Flare, UdjinM6, Patrick M, Francis R, Vertoe, Daniel A, Crowing, Elbereth, Stuart B, Tiago S, Splawik21 and Moli (not in any order)

Tremendous work you've done Evan and crew. So many new features and such thoroughness with all the underlying background sub-structures being updated too. Darkcoin is so very substantial.

I've just updated my MN. I had the new wallet all powered up with the -conf=c:\darkcoin\darkcoin.conf option ready to perform a masternode start but I've found the MN's come up on the new version 110006 without needing to issue the commands from the wallet console. A grep within the VPS session shows it's online and functioning. Is this expected behaviour (i.e. no 'masternode start" from the wallet required)?

A screenshot of our Send feature with DRK integration:

Looks really tremendous neutraLTC. I think this integration of DRK into SendChat's platform is a very good thing. Expect we'll see a lot of new investors coming into the DRK as a result.

BTC asks & bids on all exchanges on Bitcoinwisdom starting to go frantic again. The poor javascript can hardly keep up!

Looks like another big drop from the mid 180s level incoming.

I'm not a bot. I'll be honest.

I made around $20k when the big DRK pump happened. Exited then. Never touched it ever again.
Not willing to waste my time debating delusional bagholders who're afraid for their investments.
Been there. It's boring.

Regarding my vocabulary, lol. I am fluent in 6 languages. How about you, Johnny English?

Hope this post works like a chill pill for you.

I'll give you a definition of boring:

It's to come on here and bring up (yet again for the 100 millionth time) the "Instamine issue" which has been so put to bed, so many times, and is so NOT an issue.  Now that's boring.

Why don't you take your one word post and (and your six languages) and go somewhere where you CAN add value because your views and beliefs about Darkcoin clearly prohibit you from doing so here.
785  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] Darkcoin | First Anonymous Coin | Inventor of X11, DGW and Darksend | Instant TX on: January 14, 2015, 04:17:26 PM

I think I might be over thinking this and suggesting that people posting on here "should" be of use and appropriately engaged.....dreaming on.....

You may be. It isn't an academic forum and you sound like you might be an academic, all the same you are certainly justified in trying to raise the bar in terms of quality of exchanges that go on.

I have sympathy for both of you in fact. I've made posts that are as banal and un-informative as the one that forms the subject of your current frustrations, but I've also made posts that I poured over for ages to make sure they were as well articulated and as interesting as possible.

I had a bit of a chuckle at the "instamined" response because it was a bit robotic and predictable in nature so I kind of saw it as a parody of that whole line of thinking.

Takes all types.

I'm no academic Tok. But I do appreciate well structured text that has a beginning, a middle, an end and also articulates a point or two. Just about all of your posts do and I really appreciate the time you put into elaborating on some concept around the TA or other factors playing out in the market.

Instamined.

There's nothing quite as stupid as a single word posting that's just sitting in isolation not related to anything in particular.

What is "Instamined" Bitstake? Are you an "Instaminer"? Are you suggesting something? Are you just so lacking in vocabulary you don't know how to structure a sentence?

A single word is typically neither a statement, question or commentary unless there's some context and it relates to a previous posting (or something). You've come into this forum and not even had the decency to write a sentence that can be answered or responded to.
I think stupid is that we responded to a bot  Cheesy

Maybe. Maybe not.

I get so sick of the mindlessness that goes on in forums like these. People come along and just put the first stupid, ill-thought through, ridiculous notion that plops out of their dull minds into some banal posting that adds zero value to anyone or anything (especially themselves).

I think I might be over thinking this and suggesting that people posting on here "should" be of use and appropriately engaged.....dreaming on.....

It is strange that Bitstamp is leading the dump and not Chinese exchanges  Huh maybe Bitstamp did not tell us the full story about their hack?

it is all OKCoin and BTC China
what are you talking about ?!

Um...just under 10K dumped on Bitstamp for the major drop below $200. Then subsequently it's been around 10 to 15K per hour since so definitely very high volume on Bitstamp.

789  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] Darkcoin | First Anonymous Coin | Inventor of X11, DGW and Darksend | Instant TX on: January 14, 2015, 10:15:19 AM
For every sale, there's a buyer. Coin's are not being "dumped" in the sense of holders getting rid of them, they're being transferred.

And I am one of these buying them left and right, sub $200.00 and will gladly keep doing so if BTC price continues to go down. Than, all of them into Darkcoins Smiley))

Love a good deal when I see one Smiley

But what happens if bitcoin hits 40$ Wink

At 200$ range you would be paying 5 times more Wink

What happens if bitcoin hits 10$ Smiley
You never know. Thats why some people make money and some doesn't .

Hey Terzo2, arn't you a bot? Go talk to your bot friends and tell us what they are planning Wink

...and get your "bot" spell/grammar checker to work properly "That's why some people make money and some don't."
790  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] Darkcoin | First Anonymous Coin | Inventor of X11, DGW and Darksend | Instant TX on: January 14, 2015, 09:29:55 AM
This is the dump before the pump you bot owned noobs !

You've got to remember this:

For every sale, there's a buyer. Coin's are not being "dumped" in the sense of holders getting rid of them, they're being transferred.

It looks to me like there are about 50 times more buyers than sellers because the sell trades are few and huge whereas the buy trades are many and small.

What this means to me is that speculators are leaving the market and "users" are entering it, just as articulated in this post.

This is no bad thing if it's the case. For a sneak preview of what's happening to bitcoin, look at what happened to DRK last year. We hit nearly 500% of our current trading value and then consolidated to a point where the speculators (like mikethemike) left the market and only long term holders were left. Then the thread went back to its industrious self and the coin infrastructure continued to grow.

Bitcoin may stabilise in the early hundred's, the 200's or the 300's but what we could see now is the start of mass adoption for 2 reasons:

[1] - the mass of new smartphone gateways to bitcoin and new cryptocurrency markets that don't want to use banks

[2] - the commercial accessibility due to the low price (i.e. people buy it to use it rather than buying it as an investment)

Excellent analysis Tok. And the posting by justusranvier you referenced from the other thread has some good points too.

When you stop and think about what's happened in crypto since the bitcoin mega-pump of Nov 2013, it's really no surprise what's happening is happening. That sort of unsustainable rise is freakish and naturally attracts all sort of expectations of great riches and an "all-new-order". Then reality catches up and all the hot air escapes.

RIP crypto !

Just growth pains Terzo....(and an opportunity for all the naysayers to vomit out "told you so!")

The sun will eventually shine again; and brighter too.

$200 just breached on BTC-e! Watch it freefall now....
794  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] Darkcoin | First Anonymous Coin | Inventor of X11, DGW and Darksend | Instant TX on: January 14, 2015, 06:58:22 AM
Btc @202$ where this will stop?

Based on it going down in steps $15 to $20 every few hours my guess is the market is pessimistically committed to breaking the $200 barrier. And then it's likely to free fall quite badly for a bit and whammo.....a great big bounce that will see it being bought like there's no tomorrow once everyone's convinced the bottom was reached. For some reason I'm guessing that bottom will be around the $140 mark; don't know why but it feels like we have to get into the lower half of the 100s before consensus is reached that it's at its nominal value (which is still just an "agreement" amongst everyone; same as all currencies).

edit: didn't see your post eahmadov until after I'd posted mine. Looks like we might be thinking similarly.

Listen to Tone
he is very good in his BTC price predictions:

Thank you, gonna read in a bit Wink

......cut.....
So, for example, we all expect DRK to appreciate dramatically against BTC and the USD. If you took out a loan in DRK, converted it to USD and then two years later had to pay the DRK back (so you had to then get USD and convert it back to DRK), yes you're likely to be seriously disadvantaged and find you have to payback way way more USD than you originally received when you converted your borrowed DRK. But, think about if things are far more progressed along in terms of adoption and you can buy many goods and services in DRK, then it's a different situation altogether because if you don't convert your borrowed DRK into anything else, but just keep it as DRK to use, then provided you're making money within the DRK economy (i.e. spending DRK, getting paid in DRK) any loan will only be subject to whatever interest you agreed on under the terms and what you pay back will just be the original DRK (principal) plus interest..... cut......

I don't think it has anything to do with fiat.  At the moment the growth is from more and more people participating in the crypto economy.  It's currently pretty balanced, with probably a little inflation due to most cryptos producing more coins now than in the future.  The hope is that by the time the inflationary aspects of cryptos slow down, the rewards will also be limited.  Still, it's the supply and demand of coins I'm talking about, and it doesn't matter if you ever touch fiat.  Unless demand is saturated, you'd be in trouble with a loan.  Why do I worry?  Because this is the coin of the unbanked world!  They aren't even aware of it yet!  If this works, when they start to invest in coins, demand is going to explode!

I guess it just will have to mature and stabilize, if possible, before such loans will be possible.  Or else some other mechanism will have to be put into place.  I'm sure someone will come up with something.... I'm just not bright enough in economics, LOL

Ugh, gotta run again Wink  Will catch up later I hope, looks like so much good discussion going on!

I'm not sure I'm understanding you Tante. How would you be in trouble with a loan if you're not converting DRK into something else? If I lend you 1000 DRK at 10% interest on initial principal for 5 years (not a very good deal really), you'll need to pay me back the 1000 DRK plus 100 DRK for each year, so 1500 DRK in total. That's not much different to a personal loan from a bank or finance company. Supply and demand of the coins doesn't come into it at all. It's only if you convert into BTC or fiat (or something else) that you're exposed to potential risk that the DRK you borrowed massively increases in value against the asset you converted the DRK into and you then have to fork out a whole lot more of that asset to convert back into DRK at settlement time. Supply and demand can only be measured (or observed) when the asset is measured against the value of another asset it can be bought or sold for.

Lots of gnashing of teeth and desperation over on the BTC-e foolbox. Here's a typical gem of wisdom:

Are you guys watching bitcoin price chart?  Shocked Bitstamp hit 225$
Perhaps we are finally seeing some capitulation. Let's get it over with!

You call this capitulation? i am afraid this is NOTHING compared to the upcoming capitulation. It is almost guaranteed now we are gonna hit sub 100$ and only after that we might see another bubble.

He called this "some capitulation", not the total extent of the capitulation.
I agree, the volume is not high enough. Despair levels are pretty high so far.
BTC down 10% already. Maybe we see a plunge to 200 on very high volume, and maybe another flash crash at btc-e into the 100's to form a bottom. Very painful to watch.

it is painful but at the same time something that we have to go through anyway. So better happen now and we can get over with it. I am happy that FBI won't get much fiat for their next auctions Wink Once they sell all the coins for cheap then we will see the next bubble Cheesy

lol, and still somehow DRK "holds" against the BTC.  Painful times but I'm feeling a touch of relief too.

Well it's good DRK's "holding" against BTC but just like "A rising tide lifts all boats" when the opposite's true everything goes down simultaneously. Unfortunately all of crypto is being decimated, both in value and the public's trust in it's validity.

So SpreadLight while I can understand you're "happy that FBI won't get much fiat for their next auctions" this is not good and we could be witnessing a major collapse. It's no joke.

Any idea why this is happening?  I've been working on hubbie's book marketing etc... so I missed many pages here....  What's up?

Mark Karpeles selling his stash ?

The banks bought loads of BTC 2 years ago and are now mounting an attack in case crypto "gets somewhere" ?

Ditto the NSA ?

Whales cashing out ?

Capitulation ?

Paycoin ?

Ripple ?

Commodity crash triggered by oil selloff ?

Distribution ?

And....perhaps....Everyone just loading into USD like there's no tomorrow because that's the flavour of the moment (and people are so worried they return to the known)?
