ICO here is very modest, devs aren't asking for the world like all the other ICOs do. I think that is a good sign. But at the same time, will you guys have enough funds to continue development into the future?

The premine is a real killer here. Technically it may be 0.5%, but after a month it is still nearly 10%. It would be completely insane to buy that coin once it hits an exchange.
EMC2 has some kind of mining tax. I wonder why it isnt possible to have a really tiny premine and then add this kind of tax. I am not familliar with the details, but it cant be that comlicated, can it?
I like to quote myself here. Glad I was wrong and it was not just another premine dumping. Good to see that there are still ideas in crypto that are not about super-dark-masternodes and all that nonsense that - in reality - nearly no one needs and only exist to hype a coin. I liked the idea of the coin and it is quite easy to think of possibilities outside of geocaching. I was nearly 100% sure that this would be another fail-project. Thats not meant to be disrespectful towards the dev, its just the baseline assumption in crypto nowadays. Looking foward to see what's happeing next. I honestly believe the devs here are some of the few genuine devs in all of crypto, it really is a rare thing in crypto and so you can't blame people for being suspicious and careful. This coin is so very exciting and unique, one of the few I am holding onto and don't feel the need to constantly check the market. Price is irrelevant right now, marketcap is tiny and most people haven't discovered this gem yet and realized the potential. I am glad it is flying under the radar for now, makes it much easier to accumulate  |

I doubt anyone will admit it here, but I bet if there is another price increase you will be looking to sell at slight loss/brake even prices, bringing the price right back down. No fud
Who is "you"? You think everybody here bought at the same price? Uh.. yeah, that's not how these things work. Some people bought in at the ICO (lower price than we are at now), some people (like myself) bought in over at C-Cex before it was put on Bittrex (at price ranges around where it is now), others bought in on Bittrex at every range of price it has been to, that's how it has been to those prices... So, yes, some people are holding bags right now from the last pump (that's what happens when any coin pumps), others are breaking even at the price right now, and still yet others are holding a profit even at this price range. Anyways, this is no different than any other coin or any other thing that is traded in any capacity for that matter. |

 Its at 100 btc already... so much  I wanted it less then 50 is 90+ actually.. I dont think it hit 100 yet. 107.95147382 BTC atm 107 is so high Maybe set limit so it cannot be too high? Remember, this is only half the ICO. Lol. Just gotta hope the people putting the big bucks in know what they are doing.. I don't think they'd put a lot in unless they did. |

These are some great new features for GEO. I'm sure you'll see the map populate very quickly with coins thanks to the rectangle bulk drop.
I think a useful tool as GEO becomes more popular would be the ability to password protect coin collecting and adding collection limits. This opens the door to private group coin hunts or more targeted marketing events. For example, say someone dropped 1000 GEO in one specific location, but only people with the password were able to collect coins and it is only one coin per user. Private groups could have their own group page with a map showing their coin drops and a leader board of collectors (kind of like a fantasy sports team page).
Just a thought I had. There are so many applications that GEO can be used for, I'm sure the marketcap will reflect that potential very quickly.

The coin has a market cap floating between 15-35 BTC. So low that I don't understand how miners or the dev could have even made money off of this one yet. Why not throw some spare change at it and see if it turns into a few BTC? Obviously a high-risk, high-reward endeavor. Which is why I recommend only putting spare change in. If dev is smart and wants easy money he will buy at these prices too and do something or at least feign doing something, lol.
It's always been a matter of monetary velocities. If you do heavy mining from the start enough times it adds up. As for what I bolded, you do realize that's exactly how lotteries work right? And time and time again, it's used as revenue accumulation; that's why it's called a "tax on the stupid." Naturally, if a person continues to create lotteries they'll continue to make consistent profit. Analogously, if a person keeps creating altcoins and cashing them out it's consistent profit. Hmm.. Well, I've never won a lottery but I consistently make money off of trading altcoins  Your analogy is a bit of a stretch. With altcoins, you have to mine. Mining uses electricity. Therefore, the coin has to sell above a certain price to cover the expenses let alone to turn a profit. The more people who mine, the less each miner gets per kW, the higher the coins must sell to cover their overhead. |
