781  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your game and why? on: January 14, 2017, 11:55:33 AM
For me it is probably sport betting. I like the fact that I can combine excitement from watching the game with additional perks of earning money.
In the past I was fan of Slot machines - but when I realized that House Edge on Slots are ridiculously high (usually more than 10%) I am no longer fond of Slot Machines...
782  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have not invested in Bitcoin when it was 200 US dollars on: January 14, 2017, 11:50:58 AM
At this point I think it is safe to assume that there never be a $200 again. Current decline period is the best that could happen, it is a door for everyone who wanted to join bitcoin race.
Because at this point we know that BTC has tremendous potential to go much higher, and news about AML policies of Chinese government is more FUD than anything real.
I am bemused by remarks: 'I think bitcoin it too expensive, I wish I invested when it was worth $XX'. But do you realize than in the future BTC could be worth thousands or more?
783  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The European Union Wants to Identify Bitcoin Users on: January 14, 2017, 11:37:45 AM
EU parliament is known of creating idiotic laws and regulations, it is not a secret they are mainly issued the laws requested by their economic puppet masters.

List of some ridiculous EU laws:

- the passed the law that all bananas must not be curved...

- in 2011 they passed a law which prohibited bottled drinking water manufacturers from labeling their product with info which suggest drinking water stopped dehydration

- at some point they wanted to ban every driver diagnosed with diabetes they deemed people with diabetes unable to drive cars

- they banned high powered vacuum cleaners (there is limit of 1,600 watts)

- and many more...

Do we really need those idiots to tell us what to do?

784  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-1-14] Bitcoin ETF may attract $300 million in the first week, says Needham on: January 14, 2017, 11:18:47 AM
I am waiting for ETF for years. Winklevoss wanted to create their Coin ETF since 2013, it is ludicrous that they are being hold in place by legal issues and tardiness of officials.
We really should hope that 2017 with be the year, we need it to combat Chinese FUD, and this Trust would likely cause the price of bitcoin up dramatically.
785  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The reason why people do not get Bitcoin. on: January 14, 2017, 11:07:58 AM
I pondered about this problem a little and I concluded that we are early adopters, technology enthusiasts and visionaries. Mass adoption will come later.
It was the same as with other groundbreaking inventions. For example: Laser was invented in 1960 it took years for it to be used as something people would use in their daily lives.
Unfortunately with bitcoin it will be the same story, years will pass until it will be regarded as real fiat alternative.
786  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Help me figure this out? How to estimate the cost to create a Bitcoin? on: January 14, 2017, 11:02:21 AM
We might want to know how the first exchange rate for USD was calculated.
From what I know First Exchange Rate was published by New Liberty Standard in 2009.

This is how they calculated cost of 1 bitcoin back then:

"During 2009 my exchange rate was calculated by dividing $1.00 by the average amount of electricity required to run a computer with high CPU for a year, 1331.5 kWh, multiplied by the the average residential cost of electricity in the United States for the previous year, $0.1136, divided by 12 months divided by the number of bitcoins generated by my computer over the past 30 days."

787  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Can Hit $2K ? on: January 14, 2017, 10:53:04 AM
to get $1k as new floor, we need to stay at $1.2k for a period of time.
And we would have $1000 as a new floor after last pump, as the grow was quite organic without signs of any great manipulation.
The rise was disrupted artificially by FUD after Chinese authorities suddenly trying to embrace bitcoin regulation...
788  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Whats the best bitcoin news site? on: January 14, 2017, 10:44:20 AM
In my opinion, all news bitcoin site are trustworthy.
So you are not bothered by fact that when you read some news on Coindesk there might little disclaimer below the article where you can read that Coindesk owns shares of a company mentioned in the news?
I think it might be a reason the news is written is overly positive manner.

Prime example: Coindesk overhyped news about Zcash, they didn't mention many things there, mainly fact that there is founder tax/fee which is part of the protocol and gives you 20% of all mined coins in the first 4 years.

And surprise, surprise there is a disclosure I mentioned earlier:  "CoinDesk is a subsidiary of Digital Currency Group, which has an ownership stake in Zcash."
789  Economy / Economics / Re: whether bitcoin influence on the world economy? on: January 13, 2017, 02:25:23 PM
We are not at this level yet. Bitcoin is too small to have any kind of impact on global economy. Bitcoin in current state can be called experimental sidetrack of official economy.
And for most people it is a road to nowhere as they expect that authorities will tone bitcoin down by imposing heavy restrictions i.e. forcing people to abandon concept of decentralized cryptocurrency.

Also, most fiat payment processor companies have market cap at least 10x higher that bitcoin ever reached - last time I checked PayPal market cap was around $150 billion.
790  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Whats the best bitcoin news site? on: January 13, 2017, 01:46:12 PM
To be frank, most, if not all bitcoin news portals are biased and are driven by their own agenda (hidden or not). There is no definitive and the best bitcoin news site.
The best way to gather bitcoin related info is to read every news and arrange pieces of evidence yourself to see full, unbiased picture.
Don't blindly believe in Coindesk, news.bitcoin.com, Cointelegraph, Cryptocoinsnews or any news site.
791  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fixed soccer matches information. on: January 13, 2017, 01:24:26 PM
my prognoze Holland jupiler league
MAASTRICHT - HELMOND 1 1.75     90% garante
I thought this thread is about real fixed matches information. It is not about your predictions, even accurate ones.
So share it only if you know for certain that match you posted is being fixed behind the curtains. Don't try to sell it as "90% guaranteed win".
792  Economy / Reputation / Re: Negative trust for no reason ? on: January 13, 2017, 12:44:23 PM

claiming bonus = farming account ?

An account whose 1st post, up until the 119th were all on the games and round section.

And the 120th? Applying in a signature campaign.(surprise, surprise)

121st to 125th are all in this thread.

You're seriously expecting people to believe this is NOT a farmed account? Coupled with the timing of that email/password change,
Soon as it became Full member, it decides to change email/password and then apply for a signature campaign.
All I can see here is it was farmed till Full Member, sold, and would have been used for sig spam. Too bad it got tagged so it's now useless for sigs, huh.?

Can you see the future? Besides, isnt spam a moderation issue and unrelated to trust ratings?
Apparently that line is blurred for some people. I was tagged with valid negative trust for spamming recently and presented as "serial signature spammer".
I felt like this was straight abuse of trust system. Usage of trust system in this way might be sign that we are entering dead-end evolution of a trust network.
793  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it a good time? on: January 13, 2017, 12:16:04 PM
Better to wait bitcoin at the lower price, now bitcoin still have a high price so it is better to wait for prices to go down some more. But if now you want to buy is not a problem due to bitcoin prices at the end of 2017 will be higher than this, even predicted could reach $ 2,000. If I do buy if the price drops a few more, maybe in the range of $ 700 or $ 710.
There were predictions that bitcoin will reach $2000. IIRC Kim DotCom called it out as he was promoting his new Megaupload 2.0/Bitcache service.
But we can't deny that price of bitcoin is mainly shaped by China, and in our current situation of Chinese trying to curb bitcoin trading, it will be hard to stay positive about $2000 in near future.
794  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-01-12] Why China’s central bank fears bitcoin on: January 13, 2017, 12:11:03 PM
This is not an entirely bad report on what is happening in China. The Main focus is that the " Chinese authorities have taken note of the move toward bitcoin, and they are trying to throw cold water on the coin in order to tamp down capital outflows and help the yuan. " So they shine the light on Bitcoin exchanges to scare people, in the hope that less capital will flow out of the country. This will not stop Bitcoin or it's users from finding ways to buy/sell and trade bitcoins.

If this was done before Mt Gox happened, then irregularities would have been detected in advance and we might not have had the Mt Gox incident. The regulated exchanges must function as "safe" area for people to trade bitcoins and if they fail in doing this, we will suffer the same fate as we did with the aftermath of Mt Gox. The government have a duty to protect the consumer from questionable practices or services.
It is exactly what is happening. China will do everything to maintain its economic status quo, they are known for devaluating yuan and using predatory dumping strategy (which harm their companies)
just to be able to remain number 1 exporter of goods in the world. It is clear that they can't stop bitcoin trading - but they effectively can put people off, hindering bitcoin acceptance.
795  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it a good time? on: January 13, 2017, 12:01:16 PM
There is also a possibility (rather high, I am afraid) that we will see downward trend leading us to $500 again.
It all depends on how Chinese government will take care of forcing exchange to introduce harsh KYC regulations.
Tougher restrictions will be a reason investors could liquidate their long positions in the coming months.
796  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Sports Betting for You? on: January 13, 2017, 03:34:00 AM
According to Op you either are stone cold calculating betting machine and bet solely for profit after researching certain game through and through or you are guy who simply want to have fun.
I don't agree that you can't be mix of both - I think I am good example of that. I mostly bet on games only when I am genuinely interested in the game.
When I know it will be fun to watch but at the same time I do my research very carefully trying to estimate chances.
What you described is view that you either can a pro bettor or a newbie but I think there is middle ground to it too.
797  Economy / Economics / Re: One Key Financial Chart on: January 13, 2017, 03:14:25 AM
Another great thread by BobK71! Bravo. What can I say... I agree with everything you presented.

We live in a strange world where people feign freedom under ever expanding surveillance and nations pretend to be ruled by democratically elected governments.
Our current economy system is paper thin. I think that we live in a neo-capitalism where oligarchs and corporations are real puppet masters behind the scenes.
I agree, to save economy our masters need war. But I am more inclined to say that it won't be old school all-in war, nations are gearing more towards Orwellian Permanent War (at least for now).
798  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you list Dice strategies other than martingale? on: January 12, 2017, 02:16:01 PM
best strategy is never bet on negative sum games. secon best strategy is bet everything youve got all in one go. if you win never bet again. if you lose you can decide to martingale it later or just try to recoup the big loss.
So you second 'strategy' is basically hoping for the best but expecting the worst and in case you will got lucky never gamble again? Cheesy
Martingale is not a strategy for me it is a way to recover some of your loses by taking even more risk. After large number of bets it will bite you in the butt every time.
799  Economy / Gambling / Re: Management and Development Team Required For New BTC Casino on: January 12, 2017, 01:57:26 PM
I understand that at this stage of development of your project you are mainly looking for developers and project managers.
But how about positions like community manager, social media manager, online support? Will you be seeking for people to fill these spots in the future?
800  Economy / Gambling / Re: CrowdBitLottery.com on: January 12, 2017, 01:48:06 PM
There is so much confusion going on here. I am mainly baffled by this rule about using only blockchain.info wallet.
Users never should be forced to use one type of wallet to make a deposit, this rule makes me question seriousness of this whole service.
