781  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You don't become a big investor by public opinion. on: March 14, 2024, 01:41:30 PM
We can not discard public opinion because Bitcoin turned out to be a reputable cryptocurrency, just like we have many scam projects that newbies come to ask if it's worth investing in, and the experienced members will research and give their opinions, which are mostly correct. Public opinions matters, especially when most of the analysts are professionals, so in the case when Bitcoin was created everybody was skeptical about it, because they didn't know if it was a scam, and yo wouldn't blame anybody for not investing in it. Although people must decide by themselves if they'll go with what the majority thinks.

With the increasing adoption that Bitcoin has been gaining so far, where individuals, companies and even nations are testifying that it's a reputable asset that it's value will keep increasing into the future, nobody needs a public opinion to understand this fact now. The fact is that the early adopters of Bitcoin took risks to invest in it, I believe that they wouldn't have imagined that it's price will reach what it is today,
782  Economy / Economics / Re: Early exposure of children to wealth and investments on: March 14, 2024, 12:02:38 PM

Is it right to tell your children all the investment you've made even when they're not yet matured enough? If no, At what age should they start knowing about those investment?

I think that children should be allowed to go through childhood without putting too much pressure on them to understand certain things before they're matured enough to comprehend what their parents wants them to know, it could make them to be under pressure and miss their childhood stages. Parents should focus on building up the character of their children first, if they don't and they go ahead to reveal sensitive information about their finance, the kids might be in bad companies and reveal the parents private details. And they can be advised to steal the information and clear the parents life savings, or worse wicked people can take the advantage to kidnap or steal the information by themselves. So after moulding a child's character, parents can gradually start to reveal sensitive information to them, knowing that they'll be responsible to handle them.
783  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to determine it is not a scam on: March 14, 2024, 11:34:06 AM
Yet another attempt of subtle promotion, sigh.

OP posted about the website in question couple of years ago and it's safe to say they own it.

Sorry but this kind of trick does the opposite of what you're trying to achieve discussion-wise.

I have to raise my cap for the geniuses in this forum, the way you gurus can dig dip into and extract information about a topic and then bring it to the limelight is worthy to note, I'm glad that you're able to shed more light on this thread, so interested people should understand the genesis of the discussion. The OP should've came all out to clarify that this is an advert to further promote this site, instead of leaving us to guess whether it's a scam or not. I'll just advice that people who wants to patronize them should do so with the amount that they can afford to loose.
784  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Mental healthcare as state policy ? on: March 14, 2024, 08:12:17 AM
Mental healthcare should be a concern to the citizens and the government at large in every country, because unstable minds can be a threat to themselves and others, and if not handled well will lead to all sorts of misbehaviors and violence in the society. I'll really support the idea if governments will take the responsibilities of treating and rehabilitating people who have mental health conditions, to reduce the chances of having them being nuisances in the societies, a lot of criminalities, destitutes and insanity will reduce and people will feel more secured.

My fear is the probable repercussions if the treatment of mentally challenged individuals are being catered by the government for free, that it can make many irresponsible people to engage in drug abuse and addiction, knowing that afterall they'll get help it their conditions degenerates, we have sets of crazy people who will align with these thoughts.
785  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I’m new :) Welcome Me on: March 14, 2024, 07:20:07 AM
You're officially welcomed to the forum, since you're not a total stranger here, like you said that you've been visiting the forum since four years, I'm sure that during the period you've atleast gained some knowledge about the crypto space. I hope that as you increase your crypto knowledge here that you can also share your own ideas and experiences with us, because no knowledge is a waste. Remember to familiarize yourself with the forum rules, that is if you don't already know them.
786  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your opinion on this on: March 14, 2024, 06:09:34 AM
Maybe sharing the direct link or at least screenshot will do? because i don't seem to remember or find anything in binance that ask tip first? have been using binance for years now but did not find such a way , or if there is better to report this in the team so they can act on it , sometimes there are bad elements that may have been abusing the chances and system.

I agree that if the OP can share the link of this project that he's talking about, then it can help us to understand better if it's a scam project or not, because without being specific, we'll just be in the dark and keep on guessing. I've never heard of an airdrop that'll ask you for tips first before being eligible, they'll give the perticipants tasks to carry out, also Binance is a reputable exchange and they'll not list a project that'll tarnish their image. So it still comes down to the OP being specific about this project, let him share the link.
787  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Nigeria leaders and corruption on: March 13, 2024, 04:35:27 PM
May I remind the OP that senator Ningi, that made that 3.7 trillion naira budget padding allegation has been suspended for three months in the Nigerian Senate, because he couldn't provide any tangible evidence for the alleged padding. Please verify information before posting, so you will not misled forum members with wrong information.

I'm saddened why Nigerian newbies who perhaps don't have adequate knowledge to start crypto related topics will always come to this board and always be focusing on negative things to say about Nigeria, although we have corrupt politicians, but then which country doesn't have corrupt politicians, it's not like bad leadership is peculiar to Nigeria, alone, we have countries that have worse dictators as leaders, yet their citizens don't make it headlines in this forum. We have a lot of achievements in different areas of our private sectors where individuals are making the country proud, like in the areas of entertainment and entrepreneurship, we have millions of genuine individuals who are very innovative and breaking barriers to achieve excellence and make the country to become greater.

Let these guys also raise topics about the positive energy in Nigeria, to balance this bad impression about the country, so people will not stereotype the country that nothing good can come out of it. I'm not a politician and I don't support their corruption, but I'm just concerned that Nigerian newbies starts too many topics about the negativity in Nigeria, forgetting to atleast balance it with the many positive achievements in the country.
788  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Blame game to cover incompetency on: March 13, 2024, 03:11:29 PM
I know you are just being sarcastic and exaggerating because Nigeria actually produce pencil and ruler that you mentioned. I'm not proud about the current state of this our beloved country but believe me, no country in this world that produce all that they use. You can not technically produce everything your country consume, you import some and export some too. Nigeria is not as bad as we always portray in the public. Let be honest, how many of us like to patronize our local products? Only few but we still want them to improve when we are not giving them the support needed. No company will survive without patronage.

The first pencil factory in Nigeria was established in 2018 or so, yet they are still importing pencils. See how late it is for a country like Nigeria that have so much population. But can't you see a lot of products that we buy that are from China and other countries? Almost 90% aside food. The fact still remain that lack of production is our problem and the federal government do not look for ways to increase the production. The one that I am most concerned about are electronics and other appliances. Our country can not produce everything but we need to try and encourage increasing productivity. Federal government needs to work on constant electricity to begin with and fund researches. Also making the environment to encourage foreign investors.

Make we call spade a spade, our government no de try at all, na empty promises dem de always give us until dem tenure complete and di economy go still de worse off dan before dem enter office. Blame game na im be every new administration way, dem go continue to de blame previous administration till dem go loot belle full and comot for office and di next people go continue di blame from where dem stop, in di end no visible achievement and basic amenities wey dem go put in place, meanwhile poverty go de increase everyday.

I hear senator Akpabio, de talk for national TV about how di administration inherit depts from previous administration, I just laugh say na dem way, de play blame game to cover dem incompetence and lack of will to better di country. Why dem no see di handwriting on di wall say dem no de capable to repair di damages of previous administration before dem enter office, dem for allow people wey get wetin e take to repair our decayed economy to take charge. Poverty too much for di country and people are hungry, abeg make anybody no tell me say our leaders de try, because na BIG lie be dat.
789  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coins are advantageous to invest in now on: March 13, 2024, 01:46:52 PM
There are so many different types of coins nowadays, but I don't even know how I should choose anymore. Do you guys have any good advice?

If you're new in the crypto space, which I think you are, then I'll suggest that you start your investment journey with reputable crypto coins in the market, this is because there are many scam projects in the space, and if you're not knowledgeable about how to carry out research, you could buy a scam project, and all your investment capital will vanish or become worthless. We're just entering Bitcoin bull run and it's not too late to start accumulating it, because it'll be very profitable in the peak of bull run, also you can consider top altcoins too, they're not scams, infact they'll bull with Bitcoin to also be very profitable. New projects can be very profitable on the short term, put you'd have to gamble your funds, because as a newbie you're not sure if the project is legit or scam.
790  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is that one reason that motivates you to invest in bitcoin even at ATH ? on: March 13, 2024, 12:59:26 PM

I am doing this because I am positive with the ETF news. It is resulting in major adoption to users who were earlier reluctant to invest in bitcoins.

Bitcoin ETF is a major booster for this coming bull run and it has attracted a lot of investors into buying Bitcoin, so the adoption is increasing everyday, and the more this is happening the effect will be progressive price pump. Why I think that more investors are accumulating Bitcoin now, even after crossing previous ATH is because they have faith that price will continue to increase and we'll see a new ATH in the beak of bull run, which we're still in the early stage. Speculators and analysts are predicting price to hit $150k or above in the peak of the bull season, so if these predictions are anything to count on, then it's never too late to continue buying Bitcoin and hodling till we reach that price range.
791  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you believe in savings or investment on: March 13, 2024, 12:07:50 PM
Savings and investments are both important for income earners, they're both supposed to serve different purposes, because it's not good to save all your income, neither to invest all of it. A higher percentage is supposed to go for investment, which should be for long term, while a smaller percentage will be for savings for the short term, this is because when emergency and important expenditures arises, the person will take money from savings to solve it, instead of liquidating the investment.

If you put savings and investments on a scale, and consider which one of them that will add more value in the future, then investment will carry the day, because savings can not give you the ROI that investment will bring to you in the future. Remember that you need to research before investing your hard earned money, because there are scam investments, so always go for reputable investments like Bitcoin.
792  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What should newbies do in trading? on: March 13, 2024, 10:19:28 AM

Try not to lose but continue to accumulate. I mean no to much risk trading. But if you lose more, stop trading after many months of losing. If you gain, continue to gain and accumulate.

Trading is hard and not a get rich quick scheme, a trader needs to have a source of income to fund the trading, and as advised to trade with amount that they can afford to loose, to minimize loses, and if they continue to experience loses over a period of time, it'll be best to take a break from trading. A newbie that's continuously losing should stop trading, take a long break as you said and restrategize, then come back, if it continues then perhaps trading is not for him, he can convert to become an investor, and hodle reputable coins/tokens.
793  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Marriage a contract of sexual freedom or bondage? on: March 13, 2024, 08:44:19 AM
Religion, customs and traditions often dictates what standards for marriage should be in any congregation or society, and if any couple goes against the dictates of their belief, then it's regarded as sin or taboo. Marital practices that is seen as normal in one setting can be seen as abnormal, but the one thing that marriages from different beliefs have in common is that it legitimizes the union of a couple.

Regarding the reasons why people personally choose to go into marriage, some could be to fulfill all righteousness so that people will accord them the respect of marriage, some to have a legal sex partner, some for companionship and many other reasons. Whether marriage is for sexual freedom or bondage depends on individual perspective and believe, but I believe that marriage should be for companionship and sex should be for procreation and enjoyment, not bondage, because many societies acknowledge divorce as an option to end a marriage that is not working.
794  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't Fall Victim on: March 13, 2024, 07:57:50 AM

Nonetheless, my sixth sense told me not to activate it on my wallet browser directly as that was the instruction to copy and paste in app browser. I had that token in my main wallet. So, I transferred it out to a burner wallet. Then I sent $1 worth of BNB as gas to the burner wallet to serve as migration fee. I copied the link onto my browser and linked my wallet. It was then I discovered it was a phisher. I chatted the dude up and told him to go enjoy his $1 loot. If I hadn't moved that token out before assessing that link, my entire wallet would've been drained and months of my ceaseless labouring wasted. I just have to put this out here so people will be more careful. Scammers are getting wiser this day. This bull season is as lucrative to them as it's to those genuinely investing.

You were able to outsmart the scammer because you have accurate knowledge of the crypto space, if it were a newbie without experience, he'd have been scammed and lost the coins in that wallet, investors that are not knowledgeable are vulnerable and are easy targets for these scammers. The best option to crypto investment for beginners is to focus only on Bitcoin, it's reputable and in this bull run, it's a guarantee to give massive ROI, and if they must diversify into altcoins, let it be reputable top projects like Ethereum and BNB. In my opinion, investing in new projects should be for experienced crypto investors, who understands how to carry out research before buying, to minimize the chances of buying scam projects.
795  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto is not the future, it is the present on: March 13, 2024, 06:45:08 AM
I think that we're passed the crypto early era, perhaps somewhere in the mid era, but I don't think that crypto has achieved it's full potentials yet to be called the present, because it hasn't gotten the required adoption that it deserves. Until a reputable crypto like Bitcoin can be used to make payment for a bottle of soft drink or ice cream on the road side, then it can't be called present, so for me it's somewhere in the near future. Although I'm very optimistic that we're going to get there, when more individuals, companies and countries will adopt Bitcoin, and use it for p2p, not just for investment and trading purposes.
796  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Day i have lost my 100 bitcoins on: March 12, 2024, 06:14:55 PM
I understand that feeling of vulnerability, when you remember what you should have had and you know that you can't have it, it's something to spoil your day when you remember it. I've had a similar experience of losing my Bitcoin too, mine was that I probably didn't arrange my seed phrase in the right order and the imported wallet keeps telling me I've misspelled a word, i tried different combinations of similar words and it wouldn't open, although the Bitcoin inside can never be compered to what the OP lost. I guess that most new investors that didn't have guidance while creating a wallet will have a sad story to tell, because they wouldn't know the importance of securing they seed phrase.

798  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: After Bitcoin and ETH, now XRP is pumping. on: March 12, 2024, 03:02:20 PM
BTC and ETH are the bosses of the crypto markets. We have previously also seen that when BTC and ETH rises in prices, all other cryptos also follows them. So definitely XRP now just started, now BNB and other coins will soon follow the lead and will go up. Basically the crypto markets will go green in few days now. Hence it is advised to buy the coins and hold for few days. Once the ATH price is achieved, sell the coins to yield the maximum profit.

It's no surprise to me that XRP is pumping now, Bitcoin started and Ethereum followed, and they've both paved the way for every undervalued altcoins to pump in this bull run, so investors should take advantage of this season to invest in them before their ATH. Aside from Bitcoin and Ethereum, that I can conveniently hodle on the long term, I'll have to speculate on the prices of the others and determine on an estimated price to sale them.
799  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JP Morgan says BTC price could drop after 2024 halving on: March 12, 2024, 01:35:06 PM

What do you think of Bitcoin's current situation? Will it retain ATHs after the halving? Or will there be a massive bloodbath in market prices? Do you think the halving is already priced in? What would you do? Sell or keep "hodling"? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley

I think that what is certain is that we're going to experience a massive bull run, because the Bitcoin ETF has created more awareness for it, the adoption has increased significantly, so more investors are flooding in to invest and have an experience of the bull season's ROI. I feel that after halving we can experience some price fluctuations, pretty much what is happening now, but it won't dip to $45k, as estimated by JP Morgan, it won't affect price to reach the estimated $150k or above in the peak of bull run. So far I'm focusing on the peak of bull run, I'll keep hodling.
800  Economy / Economics / Re: Food security might not be a priority for younger generations. (2) on: March 12, 2024, 11:02:08 AM
*Reposting this topic from my post in other forum.

There is a huge possibility of younger or new generations adopting cryptocurrency investments compared to them getting interests on farming and food related sectors. What do you think? Does it have a good or bad effects on our economy?

The crypto investment sector is different from the agricultural sector, I don't think that crypto investment can stop anybody from engaging in any other work, like agriculture, it's an investment that you can engage in and still do your regular day job. Except perhaps crypto trading that requires special skills like learning fundamental and technical analysis, the investment part is basically to hodle and monitor the market trends to know when to sale and buy.

I think that why the younger generation might be more inclined in crypto and other internet related jobs is because they don't want to get their hands dirty, they prefer a job that doesn't require manual labor, just technical skills that they can stay in a comfortable place and do, unlike the food sector where they need to engage in manual labor to get their job done. Another reason could be as earlier mentioned, crypto investment gives them chance to engage in other things including agriculture.
