781  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you find new meme coins early? on: January 03, 2024, 10:52:43 PM
Buying a project without a research is more like gambling over your money.. Although, doing research before buying a coin doesn't guarantee that you will make profit from the coin.

Doing research in a coin doesn't mean you might not fall in the hands of scammers. Scammers nowadays are coming up with very brilliant ideas on how to make every thing look very real and legit until you loss your money buying their project. So your own research might fail you even after reding their white paper and observing the coin for a while. Finding coins earlier and investing in it before it gets listed in any exchange is even more risky than any other form of investment because, that could be the only place where that coin might be seen untill it is no more.
782  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: The effects of NEPOTISM (MAN KNOW MAN) in Nigeria on: January 03, 2024, 10:42:34 PM
Nepotism Na simply when men wey dey in power or position favour their people over the general interest of Nigerians, Nepotism Na weitin we dey call MAN KNOW MAN, like we all know say this country even as work no dey e get people wey dey get work steady, most of them self even when them still dey University them done secure work for them bcos there person dey in power or authority,
Nepotism fit cause plenty damages for the work force of any country, because the  employment Na by who you Sabi and no be by waiting you fit do, most times the relatives wey dem give the job no know anything concerning the work but because they just want am to chop money them employ am,

Some of the effects of NEPOTISM they down
1. E dey reduce the work performance with unqualified employees wey no get that job experience at all.
2. E dey make the country relatively unproductive in some areas for the economy
3. E dey make people wey actually know the work well not to get job, so e dey lead to unemployment most times.

Nepotism no suppose dey any country, bcos some jobs need required skills and specialties no be by man know man,

Na every truth una dey talk? Grin Cheesy. Omor this country no be for the weak at all,  if you no get mind depression go just finish your life. Reason why I dey talk like this na because of wattin I don experience. I been don share this story for this board before, when I finish school, me and my guys been go out to find industrial training(IT). Omor for the entire warri edjeba, any company wey we enter ask if slot dey, Dem dey tell us say for we to gain industrial training experience for there say we gats know one person for inside we be our relatives. Meaning man must know man before we go get a chance of becoming their trainee. Mind you, no be job we dey look for oo. Come imagine say na job, how e wan be? I no even understand where this country sef dey go.
783  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Advertisement Cryptoexchange in Nigeria on: January 03, 2024, 10:27:28 PM
I tried making some research about the exchange. What I got from the blog is different from what I saw in the online site. In fact only the interface of the site discouraged me, I suggest you have to still work on it, by making it look more mature. The designs looked like an online game for children below 5 years. Though I haven't tried signing up yet but I can't even imagine how the main application would be if the site has such failures. I tried checking the about us, terms and conditions, privacy and policy. But it seems they were just there for fancy. If those options couldn't be assessed, what are the odds that this is not another scam project?
784  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Talk community's input has made a real impact on: January 03, 2024, 09:11:06 PM
Actually when it comes to making deposit for things like this, they can be simply tagged as scam. Because I don't see any reason why you'll have to pay before you'll get paid for something that's called an airdrop. So long as it requires a deposit before I get the chance to participate, I'll just conclude it's a scam. And 99.9% of those kind of giveaways are scam, what is the need to request for payment from the beneficiaries if your true intention is to give them even more. Though things like this could pay some person just to make it seem legit, but at the end, you'll find out there are more who are complaining about the failed project.
785  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: See reason why other African country envy us on: January 03, 2024, 08:59:52 PM
When it come reach all this entertainment talk Dem, I no sure say Nigeria na mate with any other country, we are the greatest of all time, everywhere our name sound our shoe shine, for entertainment part I believe my country. Just that I nor dey too like their Nollywood movies, except for all those topical village primitive ones. E nor dey even dey shock me sef say other people dey envy us, we are one of the most popular country in the world, because our doing dey show. However thanks to those innovative Nigerians wey no give up on their dreams even when others been dey criticize Dem. The beginning of things nor dey too sweet, but the ending be like sugar, thanks to all those wey make sacrifices for where Dem dey today as celeb for the country and world at large.
786  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Dangers of the internet on: January 03, 2024, 08:49:33 PM
The truth of the matter na be say, even our privacy for the internet fit no dey private. Many of the hacks Dem wey we dey hear, no be one day the hacker take plan  and execute the plans, e take process. Dem get many software wey Dem fit send give you and from there the software go just install their virus put for your device, your device fit dey work perfectly, but Dem don dey observe your activity and Dem fit use am take hack you. Anything wey we post today, person fit dig am out after many years after, so make we still dey very careful.
Just like the example wey the op give, our finger prints Dem many for internet, bank BVN e dey, NIN e dey, travel passport e dey, and we never even start to talk about those apps Dem wey dey for our phone wey dey use finger prints take dey lock themselves.
787  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Anytime na opportunity to invest for bitcoin on: January 03, 2024, 08:34:53 PM
Currently the market don come down from  the $45k wey e bren touch, and if anybody ask me, I go say na now be the perfect time to put body buy enough Bitcoin as possible. Or you consistently dey use the DCA method take dey accumulate because this strategy na for every body. Both the rich and poor naim this strategy go work for, because e no necessary mean say make you put very big amount before you don become Bitcoin holder. As far as I'm concerned, any thing wey you fit afford buy put for your portfolio na you get am, so nobody go question you about your assets. Do the one wey you power reach make you leave the rest.
788  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Their is nothing too special about the future, INVEST NOW. on: January 03, 2024, 08:15:45 PM
No be small thing, some person for this life like procrastination die. The truth of the matter na be say procrastination na just one of the attributes of failure, so person wey dey sabi procrastinate, that person dey very prone to failure. To be honest, if you no dey discipline to fit make decisions and act towards it on time, then you never ready for this life growth, for you to make am for this life you gats dey discipline to some extent. The life don pass the level were you do wattin you like to do when ever you like to do am. If you think say I dey lie, go ask people wey be ogah on their own, na discipline make them reach where Dem dey today. Besides, e dey very possible say the price of Bitcoin wey we see today, we fit no see am again.

Normally the forum no be small place wey person go just come dey feel like say e dey em papa palor, the forum no just be like other social media Dem. For you to survive for this forum, you need to dey very discipline, so here comes my answer, many of the newbies wey enter here don see am say no be the way wey Dem talk na so e be, Dem don see wattin their ear never hear. 793  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your New Year's resolution? on: January 02, 2024, 06:24:18 PM
Last year even after setting aside some money for gambling purpose alone, sometimes I get tempted to even stake higher than usual and most times I came back regretting why I took those actions. Most especially when it comes to playing online with my mobile phone, I get carried away by trying to chase my loss or keep the wining strike going. However this year 2024 I'll try to keep the discipline by using only the money set aside for gambling to gamble, no matter how hard the feeling of playing more might come, I'll try to avoid letting my emotion make decisions for me.
794  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: January 02, 2024, 06:12:36 PM

Make your choices about how to allocate, and good luck if you are in the waiting camp.. Waiting may work out for you, and it may not.
One funny thing about the waiting camp is that they will always end up regretting and they are always saying how I wished I opted in. Even while they are saying this they are still waiting without taking action immediately. For me provided the money for investment is available I don't see the reason to keep waiting for any dip, funny enough the current price now might just happen to be the dip of the week or possibly the month.
I'm just learning about that new word today "waiting camp" indeed. They are not far from the fearful, the skeptics,  the perfectionists that want to enter at the perfect price if such thing as perfect price exist. Price of Bitcoin will continue to go up and down because that is how the market is designed to worm based on demand and supply.

Instead of spending so much time on the sideline waiting when the funds are available, why not simply adopting the DCA method by buying some while keeping part of the funds for future buy, in this case one is not only waiting for the supposed perfect price but already doing something now and maximising the opportunities the market offers now. The disadvantages of not being proactive in respect of Bitcoin accumulation is just too many.

I think now is the right time for anyone to buy Bitcoin. Though the increase might look as though you are already late in accumulating Bitcoin. But the major truth is, after some months or weeks this same price would be seen as the dip. So it's either you buy now or regret not buying now in the future.procastination for years has been the greatest enemy of success, those who procrastinate always end up not achieving anything in their life because, the time they should have taken steps to becoming great, they neglected it for ignorance sake.

The only wey you'll know we are at the dip right now, is after buying some coins and watch your profit increase after some months or years. Based on the exposure I have in Bitcoin, I now see yesterday and todays price as the dip, while tomorrow and the future to come will be the best time to reap from our investment we made. So if anyone would have this same mind set, I don't think using the DCA , or any other strategy would be any problem for that person anymore. Becoming aggressive in your holding wouldn't be a problem to your emotions even when the price goes sideways because, the price to come will always be greater than the former.
795  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and health concern on: January 02, 2024, 05:52:15 PM
This is the more reason we have to be careful while gambling. It has always been advised that we go for health check up once a year to know how our body system is doing. It's also important we visit a health consultant, because gambling is an even that is capable of changing our behavior and mood. The outcome of our gambling can either make us happy, shocked, sad, etc so it very important to consider your health condition before embarking on any gambling journey. Your health is more important than any pleasure life can offer, so why risk it over small benefits of merit life can throw at us.
796  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Last hack of the year 2023 on: January 02, 2024, 05:37:43 PM
Cryptocurrency is one of the major targets of hackers. Based on the hacks we've experienced in the network, I think it's becoming really easy for hacker to penetrate. I don't know for sure if its because most of the projects are open source that's why, but the hacks are becoming too frequent. I don't think hackers are planing of ending this process any time sooner. Just as tjtonmoy said, the best option for us all, is to maximize our security even if it  doesn't guarantee us a 100% security, take the best security measures by keeping your assets in a wallet rather than keeping them in an exchange.
797  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to check if an altcoin is a scam on: January 02, 2024, 05:26:23 PM
Op you have well to list these steps, they can be added to one's research scheme to hunt out scam project. But I don't agree with your number 6,  because even legit newly launched coins are not listed immediately in exchanges, they have to take some time to monitor the coin for KYC and see if it's really worthy.

This is very sad because developers who have the intention to scam investors can have a long term plan to gain trust and when they've reached their expected target they'll just crash everything, while their investors will bear the lose. So it's true that scammers can also follow the due process like genuine developers and fulfill all the KYC protocols, in the end their true intentions will still manifest.

This is by no means underscoring the OP well articulated warning signs that we should look out for when checking if an altcoin is a scam, they greatly help to reduce the chances of involving our hard earned money in scam projects. He has provided us with enough guidelines to carry out research on new projects, so it's left for everybody to decide whether to apply them or use other methods to carry out their research.

Scam projects are becoming more difficult to identify. The scammers we used to know are now going extra miles to make their scam look very legit. As we advance by tracing scam project, they are also looking into making it look legit. They don't care the sacrifices they'll have to pay to get their coins listed in any exchange and gaining enough market cap. Once they've achieved that, the next you'll know the coin turned out to be a scam. Even your own research could fail you at this instance, so I prefer just isolating myself from altcoins especially newly launched project.
798  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling all about luck? on: January 02, 2024, 05:01:14 PM

So, we can conclude that gambling is about luck, most of the time. Can I say that great poker professionals like Erik Seidel, Daniel Negreanu and Liv Boeree have won their millions only because of luck? No. But that luck has played a big part in all that, yes, I think so. And in my opinion sports betting requires more luck than poker, but maybe it's my own opinion.

I don't agree with you that sport betting requires more luck than poker. In sports betting we can easily analyze the wining team before the games comes to an end based on their performance, odds, player present etc. even if the probability of you winning a sport bet is low, poker is still not match for sports betting. Poker is entirely based on luck with just few skills. After shuffling the card and sharing it, your probability of winning now depends on the luck that hits your side that day. Poker is a game were you don't get to see your opponent cards and mind so if luck fall in the hand of a total beginner, he might even be the one to empty you account that day Grin.
799  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time to be cautious: Everyone is not market expert on: January 02, 2024, 04:49:33 PM
It is completely understandable that some investors/traders favor Bitcoin over all kind of altscoins even those with legit projects like Ethereum, Solana, Polkadot and Cardano (ADA). Personally, I also allocate 50% of my funds for Bitcoin and reaming 50% to reputable altcoins. This approach allows me to capitalize innovation within the altscoin sector, as well as benefit from volatility, which is often viewed as opportunity for those who have experience in risk management.

With the comments you made, it explains that you are right on track. Having 50% of your investment fund for Bitcoin while the other 50% for reputable altcoin isn't a bad idea. Altcoins that have reputation in the market are also know to be good for long term holding, and these kind of altcoins might in the future give it's holding some worthy profit. Even if I don't hold altcoins I still know what's happening in the market. But beside investing in Bitcoin and altcoins you should also make provision for emergency fund, so you'll not be trading your coins when little emergency arises.
800  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Anytime na opportunity to invest for bitcoin on: January 02, 2024, 01:11:05 PM
