Although the BTC is recognized and has built a brand, I don't particularly like it, and prefer the latin B with horizontal bar...

I don't usually say this out loud, but... that one looks like a guy with a stick up his a...ss

I don't usually say this out loud, but BTC looks like an aerial view of a woman with large breasts and very small arms, beheaded. Headless bodies are more disconcerting to me than sodomy, so +1 for the Ƀ.

Stunning, but simple enough for a multitude of use-cases. Definitely my favorite so far, dunno if I'd take it over the original though... but maybe that's just because of attachment.  Grin

EDIT:
Could you make a version with the color of the classic orange coin? Curious as to how that would look.

IMHO, Ƀitcoin looks more professional than BTCitcoin. The thing is, BTC is much easier to identify as a currency for someone who has never heard of BTC before, because of its similarity to the $. Even so, by changing to the Ƀ newcomers might mentally put more distance between the USD and Bitcoin. It might not have a huge effect, but it may have an effect nonetheless.
784  Other / Politics & Society / Alex Jones interviews Billy Corgan on: July 26, 2012, 04:44:07 AM
This is a great talk between Alex Jones and Billy Corgan (from The Smashing Pumpkins). Found it extremely interesting. They discuss the impact of the mainstream media on our lives, the lack of protest and dissent in the newer generations, the morphing of American from what it used to be to what it is today, the rampant commercialism in society, the music business and how it has changed, and many other similar topics. I'd love to see some discussion on any of the stuff they talked about, or on their own personal points.

2 more BFL SCs were ordered yesterday bringing the total amount of hashing power on order to 320,000MH/s.
What is this on a per share basis?

Currently, it is 49.5MH/s ordered per share sold (mostly due to me putting up BTC for the first 6 SC Singles out of my own funds).  However, more shares will be sold and more equipment will be ordered in the coming months.

So will the amount of shares sold return the hash rate of each share to about 20MH/s, or is it possible that the rate would stay high like this due to other equipment being ordered?
786  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Poll] Would you pay for music if artists widely accepted Bitcoin? on: July 14, 2012, 06:19:46 PM
The only way I'm ever willing to pay for just the music is through a tip jar.

What if you could download music for a nonzero price in BTC that you set yourself?
787  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Raspberry Pi Model B (NIB) on: July 14, 2012, 06:07:25 PM
What the hell is that thing? an FPGA?
Perhaps some form of an ASIC?
Im too lazy for google

It's a fully-functional ARM computer that retails for as low as $25. It's capable of playing 1080p video, has GPIO pins, 2 USB ports, HDMI out, and all sorts of other things that make me warm and fuzzy inside.

788  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Poll] Would you pay for music if artists widely accepted Bitcoin? on: July 14, 2012, 05:55:21 PM
Perhaps you should rephrase the question to  "No, I would still not pay artists for RECORDED music." since I frequent the clubs on a weekend basis and spend more on a weekend than I do recorded music.

Live entertainment is where the money is now so I feel that the pool is not fairly weighted.

Fixed the poll, but paying for live music with BTC is an interesting idea, like buying concert tickets with BTC, scanning the QR code of a band playing at a local club, etc.
789  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / [Poll] Would you pay for music if artists widely accepted Bitcoin? on: July 14, 2012, 05:02:55 PM
This assumes that most of the money from payment goes directly to the artist, as opposed to the current system of record companies getting the biggest chunk of the funds.

Thread jacking: Why are paypal trying to kill themselves with dropping so many sites?

They must be aware of BTC, yet they push users towards it.

They are being "persuaded" by MPAA/RIAA probably.

Maybe the MPAA and RIAA are really on our side and are trying to help Bitcoin, because they have money with Pirate and want the price to skyrocket.

I already submitted the form, but then I bought more shares. Could you put me down for going the paid route for all of them?
793  Economy / Securities / Re: Is GLBSE also slow for you ? on: July 09, 2012, 08:06:17 PM
Every time I view the Markets page, the 30-day history column is filled with the actual data from the 30-day history, and the graph loads seconds later. Perhaps this is a contributing factor, especially as it happens for every security on the page.
794  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Putting your money where Pirate's mouth is. on: July 09, 2012, 03:11:07 AM
Arghhh.... Don't ruin this thread with all this spam. I was actually enjoying the show with all them bets and everything until it turned into insult on insult.

Anyone mind if I change the thread name to the "Let's insult each other"?

I propose an entirely new thread dedicated to insulting each other.
795  Other / Beginners & Help / Found a bug in the forums on: July 08, 2012, 12:45:42 AM
I was looking through the preset avatars available to forum users today, and I noticed that Nicholas Cage was not in the Actors section. It would be much appreciated if somebody could fix this issue.

MtGox froze my account because I used a different IP than usual... certainly not trusting them anymore, as they won't let me withdraw a measly 2BTC.
798  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whitelist Requests (Want out of here?) on: July 07, 2012, 02:46:13 PM
I'd like to be whitelisted, pretty please. I've lurked for about a year, and would prefer not to add cruft to the forum just to fill a 5 post requirement. Smiley

Currently I'm playing with some ideas for viable Bitcoin businesses, and hoping that I can help Bitcoin extend into some niche areas.
799  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tradehill shutdown & the Money Transmission Act on: February 14, 2012, 01:49:42 AM
Better hope nothing bad happens to MtGox... considering that they're basically the BTC trading monolith now.

Hey all, I've been lurking for the past year or so, but only really started to get into Bitcoin until recently. I'm hoping to get more involved in the community.
