781  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: deepbit hand picking blocks? on: August 05, 2011, 10:23:45 PM
deepbit.net looks to be well ran I am just curious looking
at their front stats compared to btcguild and slush's pool
What's wrong with the stats ? Looks fine to me.

I think so, they pay invalid blocks, I don't think they can afford this part.
so they will hidden some good blocks
1. AFAIR there is no pool with invalid rate higher than 3%, so any pool can afford paying for invalids while taking 3% fee.
2. We can't hide any blocks because this will cause easy detectable luck loss.
Also it would be too risky to mess with data when anyone can check the blockchain.
782  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Growing Mh/s discrepancy on deepbit, showing about 1Gh/s less than actual? on: August 05, 2011, 02:16:10 PM
Same thing happening. My hashrate on DB is ~6 ghash (two 3gh clusters), give or take a few hundred based on stats

but currently it's been showing 4300-4500 for quite some time.
Are you also using DiabloMiner or not ?
783  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~5000 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: August 05, 2011, 01:27:08 PM
Thankfully, sometime during the wee hours of the morning, my payment from yesterday got confirmed.  But it took something like 20 hours.

I think something strange is going on over at deepbit wrt. to daily payments.  I don't think they're intentionally withholding.  I think it's some kind of odd bug somewhere in the hash between transactions, blocks, and clients.
It happened a few times at deepbit after the bitcoind restarts.
This time I forgot to reconfigure bitcoind to accept many free TXes after doing some maintenance on my servers.

Now I included those settings in startup configuration script, so I hope it wont happen again.

PM me your login name, I'll check my logs.
Have you tried any other miners to see if this error will show up ?

No more luck statistic?
It's automatically hidden each time after difficulty adjustment. It will appear soon, after getting enough samples for averaging.

an answer to my problem?
This issue should be already fixed. Try switching your payment mode again and check for results.

Firefox issue fixed, you can try again.
788  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: DeepBit pool thread for newbies on: August 01, 2011, 01:16:12 AM
I'm trying to connect to the deep pool but keep getting these connection/login errors using HTPP or HTTPS:

$ python poclbm.py -d1 --verbose xxx@gmail.com:xxx@pit.deepbit.net:833230/07/2011 13:12:53, Setting server (xxx@gmail.com @ pit.deepbit.net:8332)

(I know my password is correct since I can log in to the Deepbit web page)
There should be no HTTPS in the miner settings. Also your command line for starting the miner looks incorrect to me.
Check the help page on the pool's site for examples.

If this won't help, change your worker password and try again. Remember that when you change your account password your worker passwords are not affected.
789  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: DeepBit pool thread for newbies on: August 01, 2011, 01:11:07 AM
so im trying to get some extra workers goin but i cant get them connected. i get the original worker to connect but not the extra ones. i get this error : wrong login or password: Basic am13aWxzb244M0B5bWFpbC5jb21fMDpwdXNzeW1pbGs=
Oh yea and I'm using guiminer
Have you tried to change password for those workers ?
Do you use any unusual symbols in your worker passwords ?
Yea I tried all that I guess it takes awhile for the workers to get recognized. I gave up one worker if fine I guesss
No, new workers should be recognized very fast, usually in seconds. If you see this message even after 5 minutes then it's not the case.
When you create a new worker, it's password is copied from your current account password.
Try using this password or changing this worker password to something simple like "123" to check if it's working.
790  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~5000 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: July 31, 2011, 08:28:22 PM
i have a problem, all of my workers are on proportinal, but shows pps pay...
sorry for my english...
Are you talking about "PPS" in the stats table ?
If you just switched from PPS to Proportional, your change will be visible there only after one hour because of the stats delay.
791  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~5000 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: July 31, 2011, 07:52:50 AM
Looks like most of the queue is confirmed now.
792  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~5000 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: July 31, 2011, 06:32:35 AM
There are 781 unconfirmed transactions (225701 bytes):
There are 765 low priority transactions.
It's pretty bad right now.  There's still TX's from July 30th @ 16:00 UTC which hasn't been cleared yet.
This is one of the fallacies & cons of the Bitcoin network.
I just increased my free TX limit for including. Hope this will deal with the queue.

If you are using gmail, you need to check your "Spam" folder at the gmail site.
With Gmail you can setup a filter to keep msgs from being sent to the Spam folder even if the spam filter think they should go there; perhaps it would be a good idea to instruct people using Gmail on how to do that for emails from you.
Usually instructing people BEFORE they hit the problem doesn't works.
794  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~5000 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: July 30, 2011, 12:37:19 PM
for example, i did a payout of my daily bread a few days ago and i noticed my balance did
not go down to 0.00 right after. So the first thought i had there was a slight delay in the backend but it stayed like
that for several minutes. By and by, the balance did goto 0.00. So i thought it was just a processing delay.
No, that's completely different situation.
Displayed balance delay was harmless.
795  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~5000 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: July 29, 2011, 06:11:00 PM
I do not want to state how i was able to do this in this public thread. But this is a Big issue for you i assume, I would expect (and i thought about doing this) people to create new accounts, Throw thier deepbit into -2 and then make a new account. Reapeat, Completetly draining you of all your funds. Contact me eh? Bugs like this should be patched
Thanks for your report. This is a rare condition and now I found it.

"Completetly draining you of all your funds" is not possible because I'm keeping only minimal amount online.

I'm sending 10 BTC your way.

Hey guys, I'm kind of new to this and I just finished mining 0.05 BTC today and tried to transfer it to my wallet but it isn't there and the amount has been withdrawn from my deepbit account. Does it take a few hours for it to get it my wallet or did I do something wrong?
Yes, sometimes it can take hours, but first you should check your setup:
1. Is your bitcoin client connected ? Look for connections number at the bottom of your bitcoin client window.
2. Is it's blockchain up to date ? Number of blocks shown there should be equal or very close to the "Last block" number at the stats page: https://deepbit.net/stats (right column)

If you see this transaction in your payments list at the site and your bitcoin client is working then you just have to wait a bit.
Clicking at the transaction data may show you "no such transaction" until it gets the first confirmation - it's normal.
797  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~5000 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: July 29, 2011, 01:17:37 PM
This morning I found that one of my nodes Generated 0.02331947 coins. This is weird, I have never generated anything.  Now, my question is this... was this a block that I found FOR THE POOL? If so, why did I get the fees (i'm assuming they were the fees)
Have you ever mined in luke's pool ? If you did one week ago then this is his payout.
798  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~5000 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: July 29, 2011, 01:16:05 PM
Basically, we can earn namecoins and bitcoins at the same time. It sounds crazy, but it appears that there is no loss of bitcoin hashing power when adding namecoin mining. Just additional free profits. The only thing needed to enable this is changes on your end.
Yes, I know about this possibility, but I'm not planning to do this in next days.
799  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~5000 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: July 29, 2011, 01:11:35 PM
So is this a new highscore for a block? :P
28.07 21:16:10   2h 18m    0    10339261     None
No, it's not. We had more than 11m :)

Hey, I'm having trouble getting any of my miners to connect to Deepbit.net's server.  I switched my payout rate from per-share to proportional and haven't been able to connect since.  Oh wait...I just realized it changed my worker name randomly!  Not cool.  Well, I'll change my login batch file to match then.  But why the random change that made me switch pools?
There shouldn't be any random changes. PM me your login name.
