my initial capital was 4000 usd.
i am down 50%.
do you think it is better to cash out now and just invest it to a safer investment like Land or stocks
i have a 7x 580 and 1070ti mining and just rely on that to buy cryptos?
or do you think i should hodl
If you don't have urgent needs then just hold your coins. The coins you have has still a lot of potential and not like those sh*tcoins so better hold it and if possible you can buy more so that the buy price would go lower and if ever the price would rise again then you would have much bigger profit. If you can't take the losses anymore then maybe just invest it in other things like land or stocks as what you say. You can sell them if you want to but in time when bitcoin reverse and will have a bull run, alts will follow suit so you will miss some gains. |

That's one of the factors one should look at if you decide to invest in a coin for the long term. You would check if the developers are active and follow their road map. You would also evaluate if what they intend to do or currently developing has a purpose that can help people to have efficient and effective transactions and can be of help to any problems that are existing. You would also check if there are other coins that has the same functionality so that you would know the market share of that coin and the potential customers or users. If you are looking for a short term trade then technical analysis is more favorable. |

I think this is the feeling of those who undergo the crash from $1,163 in 2013 and it crash to $152 up to 2015. For those who sold their coin have lost their opportunity but for those who remain standing are the ones who are celebrating now because some of them eventually became millionaires. You know the risk that are involve when you entered the crypto market so you should be ready to take it on. If you have a strong risk appetite then just hold on but if you can't take it anymore then just withdraw. I know that the most famous line in investment is "invest only what you can afford to lose" but there are so many people who still invest they can't afford to lose that's why in a bear market, many are emotional and just decide to withdraw even if they have a huge loss.

I am not forcing anyone to invest in bitcoin because I don't want to be blamed in case their investment has a lower value than it is by the time I told them. If anyone ask me though, I am willing to share any information that I know and as much as possible make the explanation more simple so that they can understand it. I am not a person who understands how the programs works behind the technology but I understand the process so I just provide them a site and then recommend some videos to watch. I always warn them that investing in cryptocurrency is risky so it would be up to them to take that risk or not.

For anyone who is panicking at the market-wide price drops, please don't! There is no reason to panic. Look long-term, don't look at price charts over the last week or month, look at them over the last year and see the pattern of rises followed by pullbacks... but the course is always upwards.
If you're new and bought in during December and now see huge losses... the worst thing you can do is sell now. Prices will increase in the long term. The current dip is just a correction to the wild excesses of last month. Don't panic!
If the prices you can see now are lower than the prices that you bought in at, then the best thing you can do is buy more. Why? This will lower your average entry price.
If you bought bitcoin at $16000 and see it now at $8000, the course of action is clear: buy the same amount at $8000, and your average entry point is no longer $16000, it's (16000+8000)/2=$12000.
Don't sell, buy!
If you believe that there is a future for this market then buy more so that you can average down. Many people are panic selling because you are already at a loss but if you buy more then that would lower your average buying price so when the price reverse and have a bull run again then you will have bigger profits. If you plan to sell now then you either buy lower if it goes more lower or just totally leave the crypto market if you can't take it anymore. If your plan is to stay in crypto for the long term and you don't have any funds anymore then just take a break for a while and don't check the charts for maybe a week or a month. |

Every dip someone comes up with some unrelated predictions to explain the market. Why don't people predict this before the dip happening? These predictions are being made from the point BTC fell to $14K from $17K, $14K to $11K, and now $11K to $8K. Its started with the CMC price confusion, Korean FUD, Lunar year, Wallstreet manipulation and now Indian FUD. Many people also say that this is the correction Bitcoin needed, which is very healthy.
I have Just gotten used to the fact that the market is always irrational and unpredictable. Nobody can time the market and it will always do the opposite you expect. It can dump with good news, and moon with bad news. This is just a random dump, we have had many before and we will have many in the future. Just Hodl Away!!
Oh right, i forgot about the FaceBook! It just add to my point of people losing trust though... Anyhow i do agree with you, there is almost no point of guessing the price... It can drop to 5000 exactly the same as jumping to 20k out of nowhere... I also stand for a HODLing as i have no reason to rush things  If you don't have any urgent needs to sell your bitcoin then just keep on holding it. For those who bought above 10k or even 15k maybe in panic now because they are expecting for bitcoin to rise. The rise in previous months were so fast that the correction is expected to be as big as well. There is a surge of new people to crypto as evidence by some exchanges closing its registrations for some time and this is their first experience of major correction so maybe many of them panic sell thus a bear market. |

Price of Btc is keep going down. which one do u choose? BTC or ETH for ICO?  [/pre] ETH because it has lower fees compared to bitcoin. I am also keeping stash of ethereum for long term because I believe that as the price of bitcoin rise, the price of ethereum will rise too and there is a possibility that it will be able to surpass bitcoin in terms of market dominance. Dominance of bitcoin is getting lower so there is a possibility that ethereum would dominate the market then. If you don't want to be left behind then spread your coins to the coins which you think has great potential and this would include bitcoin and ethereum. |

The lack of financial education in general is a worrying problem. We teach students about literature, maths, science, ... and we tell them that those are the things they need to know in life. Yet usually, the largest single expense they will have on their lives is a house, and that normally comes with a mortgage. Yet, only a few schools will tell them what should they be expecting, the risks and the consequences of such a contract.
Bitcoin and alts is another case in which people are carefully kept in ignorance by the governments and lobbies.
What can we do to make more people interested in economy and finance and to better educate the youth so that they donīt get ripped-off?
Since financial education is seldom taught in school then it should start from your own home. If you are a parent then teach your children how to handle money properly. If your children want something then do not immediately give it to them, make them work for it or have a condition that unless they have to do that then they can have what they want. Through this way, they would realize the importance of hard work to get what they want. Lessons should be learned first at home through your parents, siblings, relatives and then friends. If you know something that might be helpful then share it to others. |

I like it because I can earn from its volatility. I have been trading in stocks before but the movements are very slow that's why when I found out about cryptocurrency, I got excited because the movements are so big. In the first few months though, I got really greedy and always go all in in trading that's why my account got burned. It takes some time for me to have a trading capital again and during that time when I am not trading, I watch a lot of trading strategy but then the key is to have money management and control of emotions so now I am applying it in my trading.

Each one of us has different purposes why we are investing and earning cryptocurrency. For others it may be their bread and butter while for others it is for long term investment to provide for their needs in the future. Base on the status of bitcoin nowadays, there are still many people who are investing in it because they believe that it will be valuable in the future and for those who aims to increase their stash would choose to earn more by participating in earning opportunities here in the forum or trade and if they have a need then they have the option to sell it. Just always remember to invest only what we can afford to lose.
