781  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The ‘Bitcoin Bucket’: KFC Canada Accepts Bitcoin for Fried Chicken on: January 13, 2018, 02:52:22 AM
Good news but I do not think people in Canada will start to use BTC just because KFC accepts it. Think about it, why would normal people need to change their fiat money to BTC just to buy a fried chicken? Not only that, and why would BTC users waste their coins just to eat fried chicken?

Would you use BTC to by fried chicken? I sure wouldnt. I would use the fiat in my pocket.
782  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Burstcoin [BURST] Price Speculation on: January 13, 2018, 02:41:41 AM
BURST a great project I think will make many x's, but of course the train to enter lost a bit risky to go after X7.
Perhaps now will be the rollback. around 300 sat if the price drops you can buy.

Do you have some data to back up your claim that Burst will roll back to BTC.0000300, or is that just your opinion? Because in my opinion, Burst is about to make another rally again. Watch it happen in the next few days.
783  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burstcoin | Efficient HDD Mining | New Version 1.3.6 | Assets | CFs on: January 13, 2018, 02:37:02 AM
Help me people. When i closed my local wallet and i opened it again all my information was gone as i open a new wallet. What to do now?

Please show a screenshot of your wallet and also please post whats the wallet version and what OS you are using. Unless your computer was hacked then I dont see any problem except maybe you have a slow computer.

Posting your computer's hardware specifications would also help.
784  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A case for Burst's proof of capacity [China shutting down BTC mining!] on: January 12, 2018, 03:40:39 AM
I know BTC users will argue that mining uses less electricity than the whole banking industry. But thats not the point. The point is Proof of Work mining is still wasteful and its having an negative impact on our environment.

Proof of Capacity and HDD mining which use less energy is the future of cryptocurrency mining. Everyone has to start accepting that fact.

Bitcoin Consumes 30 Times More Electricity than Tesla Cars

  • In 2018, Bitcoin’s power demand is set to more than triple, consuming as much energy in a year as the entire nation of Argentina, according to a new report by Morgan Stanley (MS, +0.50%).

  • The bank’s analysts forecast that Bitcoin mining could use up more than 125 terawatt hours of electricity this year, a level electric vehicles globally won’t reach until 2025. Last year, Bitcoin consumed 36 terawatt hours of energy—as much as the country of Qatar, Morgan Stanley estimated in a research note published Wednesday.

  • By comparison, all the Tesla (TSLA, +0.96%) cars on the road (about 280,000 at the end of 2017, according to company statistics) likely used less than 1.3 terawatt hours of electricity combined for the year, a Fortune analysis found. The analysis assumed each car drove 15,000 miles—roughly the national average—at a rate of 30 kilowatt hours of electricity per 100 miles, based on the median mileage rate for Tesla Model 3 and Model S vehicles, according to figures reported to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

785  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Announcing the PoC Consortium Stage 2: The Burst Dymaxion on: January 12, 2018, 03:19:04 AM
Rico666, this might be something you need to look into. I didnt know that ZK-snarks required a trusted set up in the beginning in order to operate. How would that work in the Dymaxion?

Anyhow ZK-starks is a more secure and lighter version.

786  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burstcoin | Efficient HDD Mining | New Version 1.3.6 | Assets | CFs on: January 12, 2018, 03:12:51 AM
How will Burstcoin fare in 2018? 2019? 2020?

I know there's much more activity over at Burstnation, but I'm curious to hear from bitcointalkers.

Is this coin worth holding onto or not?
Since the PoC Consortium started working on Burst, things have changed.  The Dymaxion looks exciting, a tangle-based lightning network.  Will be interesting to see how they implement it.  If the price dips, I'll be buying more.

Dont forget about Proof of Capacity. Its the future of mining now that we have seen that China is already starting to crack down on BTC miners and slowly driving them away because of wasteful use of electricity. For altcoins, GPUs are now over priced because of increased demand and they are now very hard to find because the stores are always out of inventory.
787  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Burstcoin [BURST] Price Speculation on: January 12, 2018, 03:04:35 AM
BURST one of the most promising projects for 2018. Do you think that can make even the X50 for a year. Very strong project with a good team. Many events ahead? stunning roadmap 2018. Expect a good profit

x50? not a chance in france. Its a good idea in some aspects, but to me it look like a coin that is trying too hard, it should try and do one thing and do it really well, and instead it is a many layers deep and confusing to newbies, making investment difficult, thus making mass adoption hard. just my 2 cents.

While I do agree that 50x might not be possible, I disagree with you that the PoCC is trying too hard. Their implementation of a top layer with added features for privacy and other things have already been discussed by developers in the past. Side chains, Drive chains, Raiden and Lightning are examples of that. Why would you think the Dymaxion is "trying too hard"? Its not.
788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burstcoin | Efficient HDD Mining | New Version 1.3.6 | Assets | CFs on: January 11, 2018, 02:59:48 AM
Rico666, this Burst passing service idea on /r/burstcoin might be promising for newbs who are having trouble activating their wallets.

Anyhow, I know Burstnation has a mixing service. Could that be also used to send coins from Bittrex to a newb's "virgin wallet"?
789  Bitcoin / Project Development / How much are freelance developers paid for small projects? on: January 11, 2018, 02:47:36 AM
I saw a small altcoin passing service idea in /r/burstcoin and I was thinking of hiring a coder for it. The idea is to send coins to the service from Bittrex, then the service sends them to the wallet of the sender's choosing.

Its not that complicated. How much would a freelance coder be for that job and how long would it take him or her to finish it?
790  Economy / Speculation / Re: What price of BTC will make you sell it? on: January 11, 2018, 02:41:01 AM
No price is my answer. Bitcoin is a good store of value and I will only sell some if theres a need for it. If not then I would be happy to hold until the next new store of value cryptocurrency comes along.

If you are a fiat lover then I wont blame you if you have a price in your head.
791  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Burstcoin [BURST] Price Speculation on: January 11, 2018, 02:23:28 AM
Can anyone who is a technical expert help me analyze Burst's chart? Nothing too complicated is needed. Just a good basic prediction of where it might going for the next 6 months will be good enough.

Ty.

Thinking about the chart the price may increase to higher value but the thing in crypto at the same time team should develop the product which they mentioned in road map because without any progressing from the team it is useless.

Check the PoCC's Github. It is very active and it almost looks like they are in a hurry or something lol.

The Dymaxion will release by the 4th quarter this year and I am confident they will bring it and nail it.
792  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Poor support on exchanges on: January 10, 2018, 02:58:05 AM
In my experience the exchangers with best supports are Cryptopia, Kraken and Bitfinex. They answered fast to support tickets. Cryptopia also has an acive chat and forum, so that most of support questions will be answered there nearly instant. Poloniex support is sometimes disabled and Yobit doesn't seem to exist.

Cryptopia has the best support in all of exchanges. They answer immediately and about bittrex, they handle millions of users so I think it's the reason they can respond every minute.

I dont think so. Cryptopia is a very small exchange, look at the their daily volume on coinmarketcap.com.

If Cryptopia reaches Bittrex's or Poloniex's no. of customers, they surely will have the same problem. Anyhow, most altcoin exchanges are understaffed and maybe some of their staff are not qualified to handle your basic technical cryptocurrency wallet problems.
793  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Announcing the PoC Consortium Stage 2: The Burst Dymaxion on: January 10, 2018, 02:50:51 AM
I have read all the WP. I Will love poc3 to let burst compete with sia and stoj. But there are any road map with dates?

Putting dates will be irrelevant as of now and at best it will be only guesses. The more important goal for Burst users for now would be to have 90% of all nodes to be running Burst software version 1.3.6cg.

Maybe by then a more clearer schedule for releases can be made.

795  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Any undervalued coins? on: January 10, 2018, 02:13:07 AM
With it’s recent roadmap, , BURST is the most undervalued coin righ now

Very undervalued but its continued to be ignored by the investors here on bitcointalk.org. I dont know why that is. Dont they know a potential x100 investment if they see one?

Maybe once it reaches BTC.00001500, thats when we see everyone starts talking about it more.

Where can you buy burst?

Not gonna lie, Dymaxion is pretty nut job if it actually works.

Yeah its a very ambitious project but its something thats not impossible. Some people have done more "impossible" things than that with far less available technologies at their disposal. Sending the first man on the moon for example. That was during the 1960's!

Having that said. Whats good with the Dymaxion is it doesnt mess with the Burst blockchain, making it stay pure, untouched and immutable. On the Dymaxion layer, all kinds of things can happen. Lightning transactions, tangle transactions, private transactions, tokens issuance and trades and more.
796  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New 1.2.3 Fork block 92000 on: January 10, 2018, 02:06:18 AM
Can maybe somebody send me bursts to start? I cant activate cause i dont have enough for the fee.

BURST-G6EJ-ZRCH-CMZD-ESRZU

much appreciated!

There are Burst Faucets available to activate your account. Look for them at the side bar in /r/burstcoin. I know its a pain in the ass but after the Dymaxion upgrade, that will change. This barrier of entry will be fixed and gone.

Be sure to upgrade your wallets to Burst 1.3.6cg and forward port 8123 for faster Dymaxion activation and adoption.
797  Economy / Economics / Re: CRYPTOCURRENY TAX DILEMMA on: January 09, 2018, 03:57:50 AM
There is currently no clear laws about bitcoin taxes, except in America, i think we will see in 2018 new laws born

This is true. I dont think the Phillippine government cares about taxing gains made from BTC because from all the international news websites, their president cares only about the war on drugs in their country. Or taxing gains from BTC in any 3rd world country for that matter.

Isnt it also martial law in the Phillippines?

Weekly Burst Report #18 – 01/07/2018

The Weekly Burst Report is a report published every Sunday meant to centralize and outline the important Burst information of the week.
https://www.burstcoin.ist/2018/01/08/weekly-burst-report-18-01-07-2018/

I have opened a thread to encourage more discussion about it.

Burst weekly report! The future is bright!

Why dont you drop by over there so we can discuss everything the PoCC is up to. The good, the bad and whats in store for the future of Burst.

If you are an active member of /r/burstcoin, please ask some of them to post their thoughts on the thread too. Ty.

800  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopia sell order not being filled on: January 09, 2018, 03:16:45 AM
In very thin markets, you are sometimes trading with an exchange's market making bot. They act really fast and they can remove their bids faster than you can sell your coin on their bids.

The best way to sell is to put your order near the last price and wait. But be patient sometimes it will take a few hours.
