781  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTCT.CO] [IPO] [FAQ]BTCGARDEN MINER---Eyes to the horizon on: August 03, 2013, 01:13:22 PM
This seems pretty richly valued for an IPO after sucking up 32,000BTCs on btct.co in short order...then there's another 2,000,000 shares coming at higher prices? That's 6x the daily average on btct.co already poured into the garden in just over a day. I'm not seeing much room for further upside at this point, but good luck fellas.

The panic such comments could trigger  Grin

2 M additional shares may not come for several more months. Will only be issued after a milestone and at a higher price.

Edit: Trying to get some btc back to basic-mining  Grin ?

Chinese won't sell, and they are representing the larger part of the investors.

This is a lot of money for such poor communication with "foreigners"

Many reports on hacked macs today. I doubt your mail was compromised.

Update:

I will talk to the Labcoin team about some form of 'public' solution to this question.

Quote
The other 6,000,000 shares are held by investors of BTCSEA CO.,Ltd ,which is not available and limited to open in next 2 years. Pass Through stocks based on these shares are prohibited in next 2 years either.Public shareholders have no such a restriction.

Quote
You are definitely correct when it comes to BTCSEA CO. At this time I can personally just communicate that the team is definitely not planning on selling any shares and are 100% committed to the future of the project.

Everything is fine, except for the fact that in current shape of things they can just abandon the ship at any time they want.
I think it is important to (either or both):
- clarify that no founder shares will be sold till some date in the future;
- make founder's accounts public so anybody can check number of labcoin shares they hold.

Maybe you can make Read-Only API Keys publicly available so everyone can see your portfolio and prove you won't selll?

Yep, sounds like the Vanity Generator that you installed was a trojan.  I assume your Bitcoin-Qt wallet wasn't password protected either?  Or did the vanity generator manage to capture your keyboard input and get your password that way?

It was protected (25 random characters) - I think it waited for me to enter my password. As soon as that happened, it just sent the all wallet content.

I have now contacted Github and asked for this "app" to be taken down.

Hard lesson.

Sorry to hear that. I experienced the same thing using the Mac OS app of Electrum.

Thanks, good to know. I will from now on become way more paranoid.

I suppose my all wallet is now compromised. The best thing is just to delete the all thing since I have no BTCs left, no?
Also, any suggestions on how to be sure I fully delete the app from my system?

You should format or use Time Machine? I am not sure about the second.

TheSwede75:
can you explain why a votor of BTCT commented that "I wouldn't trust the operator at all, well known troll"?

UPDATE:

I was pretty 'Trolly' and outspoken in my early days especially in the BTC-E.com's trollbox. Since then I "got over" Alt Currencies and chilled out a lot. If anyone wants to judge me based on Trollbox chatter, I guess that is up to them. I would probably consider my flawless trading history, group-buy organization etc more important factors when assessing my 'honesty' though. Besides that, I am not one of the Founders or Developers inside Labcoin but just someone that helped out in the IPO and serves as an additional communication resource, so I am not sure why me being a 'troll' would have to do with the Security.

TLDR: I may have (have had) a big mouth and short temper from time to time, but I have never scammed anyone.

OUTSTANDING SHARES:

Also I was asked to clarify the 'outstanding shares' on BTCT.CO. For some time the outstanding shares on BTCT.CO was incorrect (not sure why, probably due to the script we ran to place the shares). This number is now 10 Million (10.000.000) which represents ALL the shares of Labcoin. This number will NOT change and Labcoin will NOT sell more shares. I hope that clears up any confusion.

Q/A UPDATE:

The coming days Developer from Labcoin as well as Sam himself will answer technical/development questions as well as describe the near future. Expect several posts.

This is not an explanation. Like I said, BTCT only shows shares as outstanding if they have been sold or rendered to another account by doing an internal share transfer. The total Outstanding should be 7m, not 10m

I am sorry, now I understand what you are asking in "This is not an explanation. Like I said, BTCT only shows shares as outstanding if they have been sold or rendered to another account by doing an internal share transfer. The total Outstanding should be 7m, not 10m"

The reason for all 10 million being 'listed' is the fact that the Founder shares (3 million) has now been transferred out of the original IPO account and into the individual Labcoin team (developers, founder etc). This transfer is the reason all 10 million is now seen as the 'outstanding shares' amount.

I hope that answers your question. I also personally think that this is more 'honest' since the 'Market Cap' is now based on all available shares and not only the 7 million placed in the IPO.

In other words, you can sell whenever you want and no one will know.

Bingo! The shares should not have been rendered. What incentive does the company have to work at all if they can just sell all their own shares?

I would assume this is true for all listed companies on BTCT.CO. I do think that since the Founders already have over $150.000 invested in development, pre-production etc. Selling a ton of shares in a project they have been involved in for a year and giving up dividends and possible higher valuation for a quick but seems very counter intuitive.

I would definitely not assume that.

Edit: You can find the most recent example in the last IPO.

Can someone explain to me the 2nd part of the IPO? Who is going to determine the price per share?

From what I've seen I do not believe this has been addressed even though it's been asked.  Kind of a big deal

Also, from my understanding, there will be 4,000,000 shares made available on BTC.CO, and an additional 6,000,000 shares on their own exchange (BTCSEA CO).  Are those 6,000,000 shares already sold?  Or have they not released their IPO on their exchange?
No, as far as I know, there is no IPO on BTCSEA.

There are only 2 000 000 shares listed. What about the 2nd wave of 2 000 000?

792  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase.com $5 difference in exchange rate when paying invoice on: August 02, 2013, 01:27:14 PM
So wait, did yo uget the better exchange rate or the worse one?

Their exchange rates fluctuate alot, they even fluctuate depending on how many coins your selling (for exmaple if you put in 50 coins to sell vs 1 the price will be different.

No issues on my end with coinbase, I like the people behind it, the platform, and the fact that they are trying to get registered in all 48 states that require it.

Well it seems like a nice service.

I paid the invoice using the worst exchange rate.

Unfortunately I am not using coinbase until I get more information about their fluctuating exchange rate. 5$ exchange difference within 6-7 minutes for the same invoice is simply unacceptable.
793  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase.com $5 difference in exchange rate when paying invoice on: August 01, 2013, 03:01:34 PM
I would advice not to use coinbase.com

4 days and no reply from support.

So when will this be unlocked and opened up for trading?

In 2 hours 50 mins. 1 AM UTC

Burnside, these coins not showing up was obviously not done on purpose right?

No, certainly not on purpose.  The deposit system usually takes a couple of deposits an hour, not hundreds.  Sad

We'll beef it up obviously for future use, but any time you come across a new mode of business like this you find new bottlenecks.

Extremely frustrating for sure, but 99% of the users are still way better off than they were 20 hours ago when we were looking at doing it auction style and frankly, even if you missed out you may end up paying less for the shares now than you would have had the auction style IPO run it's course the way things were getting bid up.  (hard to say for sure)

Props to LABCOIN on this one for opting to go this route.  They could have been greedy and stuck with the auction and made 2x the coins...

Are we getting 55% of what we bid?

I think 30% to 35%

Well there are only 18M bids on shares over or equal to 0.001

Edit: I forgot there is only 7M shares

Will this be the largest IPO in Bitcoin history?

Not sure if anyone has kept stats on things like this.

Interest wise, it probably is. Value wise I think 7k BTC does not even make top-10 (I could be wrong)

Please do something with the ddos, I cannot bid now.

As weird as it may sound to you. You are part of the DDoS. Let's all take a deep breath and stop pressing F4 or whatever  Grin
