Did anybody not get the Congo for their detected coordinates?

What can you say about theymos uploading the pic from an Amazon.com product model for his KYC pic verification?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5124947.msg50402147#msg50402147

Can you please verify this as an KYC evasion? Red tag would be OK Roll Eyes

Definitely bannable offense.

Plus I'm not a big fan of word play.
7804  Other / Meta / Please list your biggest crime here. (Mandatory) on: April 01, 2019, 05:30:47 AM
We will be cross referencing your input here vs. what was stated on your KYC form. If the two do not match, we (I) will be issuing you a personalized Red Trust™ for KYC evasion, and may issue you one anyway depending on the seriousness of the crime.

I'll get the ball rolling to show you how its done:

My biggest crime is having too big of a heart.  Cry

*MATCHED*

See? That was easy.
7805  Other / Politics & Society / Re: New Zealand ChristChurch mass shootings >:( >:( on: April 01, 2019, 05:01:59 AM
I'm just not on board with the idea that gun control = government tyranny and loss of liberty. The U.S. military could crush any militia no matter how well armed. I think Waco and the handful of other militia-led incidents in the past 30 years pretty much proved this.

Waco was a mass execution, and the charges which brought them there to begin with were based on fraud. Of course I don't expect you to know any of this being the casual tourist to these topics that you are. Even this is a perfect example of what results when the corrupt forces make the choice of murder over backing down, and the world witnessed this holocaust, took note, and made preparations for further tyranny. Again, this is just addressing the SINGLE ISSUE of government tyranny, not even touching on the right to self defense, national defense, criminal deterrence, etc.

Did the Koreshians win or lose the fight?

The idea that Americans having guns will prevent government tyranny is false. Maybe it was true a couple centuries ago. Its certainly not true today.
7806  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 2020 Democrats on: April 01, 2019, 04:56:04 AM
Politico published a piece last week saying that, based on economic models, Trump would win in a landslide if the election was held today, and that Trump would win by a fairly large margin in 2020 if economic growth becomes more mediocre than what it is today.

I remember during the last election many oddsmakers wouldn't even put Trump as an option for most of the election season, as he was just too much of a wildcard. The two prominent choices were Hillary Clinton vs. Republican. Hillary was favored by 70%.

Clinton won the popular vote by quite a wide margin, and the main reason why she lost is because she was so hated and polarizing among her own country. Depending on who the Dems nominate, it won't take much to put them over the top in 2020. During campaigning the country will be reminded of all the reasons why Trump is a dildo, and there are arguably more now than last time.

Ah, I just figured out the problem.

The OP of this thread, whitetoo, has been banned, and quite a while ago. So there's no way he can close the thread. If this project really is a scam, then nobody from the ADAB team would tell you suckers to stop promoting it.

This bounty opened in July 2018, which makes it pretty much the longest running bounty program that's ever existed, that is, if its actually still running at all...

Did any of you robots wonder why you haven't been paid a single token since July? You're all still blindly promoting it hoping for a massive payday??

You might want to think about contacting the project managers and asking them what's going on... You know, just a thought...

Waiting with bated breath to read your epic content, bud.

What's funny is he directly plagiarized your earlier comment:

7810  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Invech Token IEO - Licensed Crypto Exchange & Blockchain Smart City on: March 31, 2019, 12:07:49 PM
Why did you opt for IEO instead of ICO? Is there is something special about this process or you just catched trend?
To my mind IEO is less complicated, you don't waste time on listing

I am also interested in this question, I think ico is better

How is the ico better? Depending on the exchange, the probability of the scam decreases with the rep of the exchange, as they do research the background check for you.

The guy you quoted is just a paid thread spammer. He gets paid to bump threads to make it appear like they have activity. Usually projects that hire bumping services are scams. I don't know why anybody would invest in this project because of that, and the fact that their white paper is heavily plagiarized from the Binance whitepaper:

I was going to write up a formal scam accusation against them but I've been too busy. Probably soon.
7811  Economy / Reputation / Re: Updated March 30: DT1-election: Rank up pipeline on: March 31, 2019, 12:00:43 PM
Can I ask what you mean by this? It seems like the only thing that would prevent you from being DT1 is if somebody took you off their trusted list, but maybe there's something I still don't understand...

So essentially, Foxpup currently has 8 users with >250 merit trusting him. Of those 8 users, 5 have between 250 and 500 merit, and so get 1 vote in this category. 3 have >1000 earned merit, and get 4, 6 and 7 votes each respectively in this category. Foxpup needs a total of 2 votes from different users. It is conceivable that all these users' votes are currently being used on other members, and so there would be no free votes available to give to Foxpup. If a user is receiving more than 2 votes, then only 2 are counted and the others are redistributed to "people to whom the vote will be most useful". As far as I know, theymos has not given details of how this is calculated.

What about users that have between 500 and 1000 merit? Do they get 2 votes?

That's a lot more complicated than I thought it was, but your explanation is the best I've heard thus far. Thanks.

Quote
54. Foxpup (401 Merit earned) is included by 8 users with 250+ earned Merit and 2 users with 10-249 earned Merit.
Barring an unlucky distribution of supervotes, it looks like I'm in line to become DT1. I think we all know who's going to be unhappy about that. And just when I thought the drama was finally starting to die down.

Can I ask what you mean by this? It seems like the only thing that would prevent you from being DT1 is if somebody took you off their trusted list, but maybe there's something I still don't understand...

What day is the drama new dt update scheduled for? I need to remember to put on my flak jacket before then. Next thing I know my haters are going to tie me to the death of Michael Jackson.

BTC0.015 per week

Nice, that's really classy. I like it. What's the minimum Foxpup merit I need to have received to be part of the club? I would wear it for free if my avatar wasn't already taken.
7815  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Comparison of Offchain Solutions for Crypto Coins on: March 31, 2019, 06:23:48 AM
I no more care than if you use LN than I care if you use a checking account at the bank.
But I do care if you mislead and try to claim both are not fractional reserve systems.
Fractional Reserve is not possible on Bitcoin onchain ,
Nothing prevents an Offchain network such as LN or an Exchange from acting as a fractional reserve.
Going Offchain has consequences and fractional reserve is one of them.

"Fractional reserve" = saying you have money that you don't. That's not possible with Lightning. Pointing to a proposal written last summer that never went anywhere does not equate to their currently being fractional reserve banking in Lightning. So who is doing the misleading?

Again, your entire argument rests on "what could be" instead of "what is." A lot of things could happen, some of them do, some of them don't, but don't claim things are happening that aren't.

I'll note your prediction that Ethereum and Litecoin will overtake Bitcoin for future reference.

7817  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Tradesatoshi - BEWARE! Blocking without reasons. on: March 31, 2019, 06:11:11 AM
The main problems with this exchange have to do with the fact that they are not accountable to anybody for anything. They aren't a registered business, they don't have any sort of licensing, and nobody knows where the owners or operators are located.

They started demanding KYC from all users after their company was dissolved, which is beyond weird. If they're not a real company, why do they need KYC? They aren't reporting to any government, they're not paying taxes; they're just a rogue operation who depend on either the loyalty of their user base (rapidly dissipating) or the naivete of new users to keep them going.

TradeSatoshi is down to $46k in trading volume per 24 hours; at a 0.1% fee this means they are only making $46 per day on trading fees. As huge withdrawal fees wasn't working in their favor, I believe they had to resort to the sudden KYC-for-everybody manuver as means to generate additional revenue. Plus, as I mentioned before, reputable exchanges don't use this as an excuse to with-hold customer funds and block them out of their accounts, even if it says they could according to their terms and conditions.

Its just bad business all the way around and potential users need to be warned about their practices.
7818  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BiteBTC Exchange Launched! on: March 31, 2019, 04:32:22 AM
The entire internet is calling this exchange a scam.

How can people be naive enough to keep depositing coins there? Do they not do any research whatsoever? They are just blindly sucked in by the $400 premium on BTC and don't think twice to try to figure out why it exists.

I'm certain this will eventually end badly for BiteBTC, but in the meantime, don't keep feeding them!!

Guys like suchmoon, pharmacist META Guys fly to merit-MOON Roll Eyes

Nah you're ahead of pharmacist, but he's hot on your trail... What you really need to do is hone in on your database chops so you can come up with some mind-bending stats. Like, find the average number of words per post of all WO regulars, or something. Then write a thread about it in Meta.

I think the most meta thread you could possibly open is listing who received the most merits in threads about merit in Meta. You'd probably get at least a dozen for your OP.
