The Kings Man was good, watch it instead.

I remember that i watched it. I kept it on harddrive, so it was good enough to keep an re-watch it.

Scratch that, i confused it with "Kingsman" (Part 1, that is).
Waiting for a quality rip of The King's Man now...  Grin

First two were decent.
Hoping third is good.

Matrix 1 good
Matrix 2 not good
Matrix 3 worse
Matrix 4 better then 2 or 3 but not close to 1

If Matrix 4 is better than 2 or 3, then it's definitely watchable.

It was decent.

the bill and ted released last year was wonderful. did really did well with it.

Men n Black

1 good
2 better
3 best
4 shit

star wars lost track they did too many I dont give a shit anymore.

be happy with that work around.
what is the exact watt amount 150 or 160? or less?

this gainward shows an eight pin only option

I SUSPECT someone flashed the card with info from a different model.

I would see if you can get support from gainward website.

maybe they have a forum like evga has.

they have a facebook page

7824  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How would YOU invest $100k USD into mining? on: January 04, 2022, 06:14:24 PM
Yeah if you can not a get a good power deal in under a close drive (2hrs or less). I do not recommend mining.

Do you think Solar power or energy would be okay in terms of power source?

In New Jersey if you tie into the grid it will work.

But other states have other rules.

we have a 45kwatt array built this is 7-9 kwatts 24/7

we have a 115kwatt array built this is 18-22 kwatts 24/7

we are building a 280 kwatt array this will mean 46-56 kwatts 24/7

No down before up? Muh famili, y'know, short, gu gu gu...

Not today my friend, the on-chain analysis is pointing too high, and has been for months now. It's looking like pre-halving and March 2020 all over gain (just without the 50% supply shock).
In summary while the price technicals have looked shit for weeks, the on-chain analysis hasn't looked this bullish in 18-22 months. Megalolz incoming.

I am hoping you are correct.
7826  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: January 04, 2022, 03:58:01 PM

My a2000 source fucked up my big order of 36 cards march 7 is new date.

Hopefully they freed up your funds so you can shop around  Wink

yes they did.

My choice was buy

7x A5000
2x A2000
7x A4000. get them by Friday the 7th of Jan

or wait for 36 x a2000 get them by 7th of March.

just about 29000 usd for get the gear now and hash rate of  1200mh

or wait 2 months and get hash rate of 1440mh cost of 23000. on paper waiting was a tiny bit better. but sometimes a bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush.

Took the gear now. we will be at 9gh by next Monday.

And your calculated amortization time is?

Well who really knows at 0.055 cents it is 0.055 x 1200 = 66 a day or 24090 a year 3 year warranty so 3 x 24090 = 72270

the power cost is 2.65kwatts or 1908 kwatts a month or 68688 kwatts in 3 years.

so at 10 cents that power cost is $6868.80
at 5 cent that power cost is $3434.40

so $72270- 6868 = 65402 at 10 cent power cost

and $72270- 3434 = 68836 at 5 cent power cost.

so for 29000 getting 65000 to 68000 in 3 years and still having the gear is possible.

you can say a crash is coming so cut the 72270 by 50% and it is 36135 - 6868 = 29267 to 32701 with a %50 crash

and of course

100000 - 6868 =  93132
100000 - 3434 =. 96566 if prices go higher

so in 3 years 29000 could be you still have all the gear and

29267-32701 on a low estimate.

65402-68836 on a current price estimate.

93132-96566 on a higher price estimate.

so these ranges are possible and I have under 5 cent power.  And a lot of paid up gear.

making this investment as a score in a year move is not what I want to do.

Going for another 12 card rig.

will do:

 7x a5000 = 700
 3x a4000 = 180
 2x a2000 =  80

total = 960mh

cost = a new car Grin

should use 2100 watts

I am finding it hard to get my hands  anymore on A5000, however A2000 is relatively easy to find.

Mind sharing what brand is your A5000? mine is Gigabyte and its impossible for it to do that memory speed.

All PNY thus far

I am also all PNY.
7828  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Whatsminer PSU interchangeability on: January 04, 2022, 12:02:17 AM
look for the codes like 21 or 21 d or 21 s

here are a few

P 21 d

P 21 dh

P 222c

P21 d and P 21 dh will work but you will need to upgrade the firmware in the controller to accept the change as the firmware looks at the label/name of the psu

I did this with a replacement psu for my m20s unit.

Use good power wires 10gauge will do 30amp.

let me look for a link to find a 14-50r to something

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07V1J9BD5/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?

this will work with s17

Maybe his translator say thunder ⛈  and not lightning ⚡️ .

I used to have free tv from 1986 to 2005.

I had a huge rooftop antenna.

I used three ground wires from the tripod base to the ground and I had a large greased copper pipe attached to them

i then drove the pipe eight feet deep into the ground.

This protects the house from a direct hit.

But you need more than this.

In the home in the large power box I have a whole house 🏠 Protector.

but you need more then this. As we use cable to get internet so you have to ground the cable connection which feeds into the house. I attach it to a ground to that outdoor copper pipe.

I also have  some small spark gap resisters for each eth cable.

We have had a hit on a house across the street 150 feet away. nothing broke.

we had a hit on the transformer on the street. we lost a home-theater receiver  but everything else was saved.
7831  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 2022 Diff thread. on: January 03, 2022, 09:39:02 PM

Based on current delivery schedules, Marathon anticipates all newly purchased miners to ship from BITMAIN between July 2022 and December 2022. In conjunction with this purchase, Marathon will be upgrading a portion of its mining fleet with the latest mining hardware to increase the overall efficiency of the Company’s operations. As a result, the Company’s mining operations are now expected to consist of approximately 199,000 bitcoin miners producing approximately 23.3 EH/s, making Marathon one of the largest known publicly traded bitcoin miners in the world once all miners are fully deployed and operational.

Source : https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2021/12/23/2357553/0/en/Marathon-Digital-Holdings-Bitcoin-Mining-Fleet-To-Reach-23-3-Exahash-after-Latest-Purchase-of-BITMAIN-s-ANTMINER-S19-XP.html

Heck, Mara bought 78,000 S19 xps that they expect to receive between July to dec of next year, that's close to a 11EH, it does not seem like Bitmain has any production issues or any chip shortage b.s anymore, it's pretty clear that they have decided to change their customers and that's all about it, we don't know who else is making such large orders in secret, Mara folks need to publish this info given who they are, I assume many other folks rather just buy and mine without having to tell everyone about it.

Let's just hope we don't hit 2x diff by the end of 2023 as that isn't going to sting.

Well 11eh compared to 180eh is not much. well under 10%

and while the promised gear starts in July and ends in December that seems like they do not have the chips at the moment. It does seem they are waiting for promised chips.

We have seen them build and sell the s19 at < 3000 Usd price points.

Which means they can sell lots for 7k and profit and they are not doing that. Still shows me short chips.

But I am missing so much info it is merely a guess.

I do see one hash rate grow and grow and grow and grow it is not BTC it is ETH

this shows me AMD and NVIDiA are getting chips.

I'm running 8 a4000s on hiveos I have a reported of 507 but the current fluctuates in 30mh increments.. can someone help me troubleshoot and help me have more steady mghs. I'm really new so I will soak in all information,  tips, and knowledge. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
I'm sorry about the question I'm about to ask you as it doesn't have anything to do with the problem you are facing with the A4000 GPUs, my question is how do you get your hands on this graphic cards and how much does one costs you? Also where do you resides? Thanks

You can buy this cards easily -> for very very very high price -> i think it is senseless because the roi is 2 years or more, i mean in reality and not what 95% of the people are calculating XD
Example:

My RTX 3070 cost 900€. At the moment it do 45mh = 2€ = 450 days without electricity. With electricity it is around 550 days to roi and now keep in mind the Difficulty will raise from day to day = result is the ROI is over 600 days easily.

507/8 = 63.375 too high.

lower the watts to 118
lower the ram   say 2300 to 2100 but hiveos may use a different  ram number setting.

Hmm this makes no sense. Why to high? It depends on the silicon lottery. Lower watts to 118? The OP doesn´t say how much power his cards use  Huh
By the way lower the vgpu and not the the powerlimit. Powerlimit as the name say - it will only limit your max power but why should i do that? Lowering PLimit only results in fluctating core clocks and fluctating powerconsumption.

the a4000 power caps at 130

you can get the same hash at 118 as 130

setting higher than 118 is a power waste.

clocks vary on different os setups.

he is trottling that is the flux in hashrate

so i asked him to lower his ram settings

if you drop to 61 vs 63.5 but stay steady with no flux in hashrate you clocked it correctly.

as for what a card is worth.
here goes.
3 year warranty = 1095 days
60 hash at 6 cent earning is  3.60 and burns say 3 kwatts a day or 30 cents at 10 cent power net of 3.30 a day x 1095 days is

3500+ usd in 3 years . so under 1500 the cards have value

now if it all crashes the story is different.

your risk and card appetite will vary with your power cost.

Hello, I am just wondering what everybody plans on doing when ethereum goes to proof of stake?

sell equipment? rent out hash power? move to other coins? build some gaming pcs and sell them?

Eth is not going POS anytime soon.

at the moment

the eth network is using about 10 million 3080's

10          3080's        = 1gh
10,000   3080's        = 1th
100,000 3080's        = 10th
1,000,000 3080's     = 100th
10,000,000 3080's   = 1000th

10,000,000 x 1000 = 10,000,000,000 billion in gpu sales.  more likely 15 billion maybe 20 billion

I think that Nvidia, AMD ,Intel do not want eth to end pow

Just thought I'd share here because it's relevant and personally a little exciting...

Not sure if anyone remembers but a few months ago I made a post about a business my friend works for that generates their own electricity (via gas and wind) and sells it to the grid. The problem comes at times when they sell to a grid at a loss when they have excess energy so I suggested they set up a mining operation. Long story short they got up a test bed with a 0.8MW operation and it seems to be going well; there's now plans to expand this to other sites nation wide to I THINK a 8MW total. Sitting down with my friend tomorrow for me to be brought in an have a possible role in all of this so I'm pretty excited. TOTAL change from my current line of work but definitely something I'd be passionate about.

So yeah, that's that Smiley

Good we are finally adding a 300kwatt solar array  in NJ to the 115  and 45 ones we have.  We had hoped it would be 350kwatts , but roof structure only allows 300 Kwatts.

8MW will be good sized for you.
7838  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU scarcity finally going away? on: January 02, 2022, 10:14:10 PM
Sounds nice hearing from you that BTC can still reclaim 70$+ before we see new bear market but so far I've made back my money from mining rig I'm glad I took the bull by its horn in mid 2021 by buying GPUs and building rig myself

Too many traps in this market, this is the wild west of all markets, can win big or/and lose big, it was not recommended to buy gpus mid 2021 but you gambled anyway and you gambled right this time, that is how gambling is, you win some and lose others. The good thing about this market is that is 50%/50% chance, so gambling in this is not as bad like in casinos. I'm still gambling 40% of my money in cryptos, 60% is safe. I have tons of ravencoin because the halving is next week, so I'm expecting price to rise at least 80% and then start crashing again if btc does not go up.

Buying gpus are not an act of gambling.

What matters is your ability to mine if the market crashes.

So if you have cheap power buying gpus in 2021 was not gambling.

7840  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU scarcity finally going away? on: January 02, 2022, 04:54:25 PM
GPU = money printer

Money printer value = depends on how much money it prints.

Scarce or not, the ability to generate money (less electrical cost) determines value.

As long as people see them as money printers, it will be scarce. Everyone wants money printers.

yep

and you can mine to anonymous addresses and hodl the coins for a few years.

then cash and pay tax.

huge value.
