7861  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is the king of all altcoins on: January 07, 2019, 04:48:59 AM
For so long a time, Ethereum has been touted as the king of all altcoins. It is ranked second to Bitcoin on the overall list of cryptocurrencies. Of course, there were times when the spot is being taken over by other altcoins, especially Ripple, which is coming as a close third for some significant time. But then it is always a temporary occurence. Ethereum will be back in a little while. Moreover, Vitalik Buterin is a crypto genius most revered and respected second to Satoshi Nakamoto. In particular, the upcoming fork is the talk of the town right now. There's much anticipation to it.
7862  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I am just Dumping all my altcoins! on: January 06, 2019, 12:03:36 PM
Well I have no more patience in holding it so I decided to dump all the altcoins listed in an exchange in a low price. I have been accepting already that I loss already in investing those altcoins. Because we are now in the peak season of the year 2018 and cryptocurrency market seem nothing to have gone good and I have also some needs to meet for the holidays so I sold all the altcoins. I will just check later on if cryptocurrency will going to be back at its normal market.

I just hope that you made the decision to sell not mainly because of frustration or of losing hope but of your needs. It saddens me to hear people giving up instead of holding on. It saddens me when people begin to lose hope and instead of patiently waiting for a little more time suddenly decides to just accept their loss. We are supporting cryptocurrency. It is not the traditonal stock market or forex. We need more patience here. Because this is some sort of uncharted territories. Crypto is fighting it out with the mainstream and traditional systems. Each individual letting go is a loss to crypto itself.
7863  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin holders will betray bitcoin one day on: January 06, 2019, 10:02:23 AM
I foresee it coming, it keeps on ringing in my ears with series of flashbacks. It will happen like a speed of light in a vacuum. Most bitcoin holders will betray bitcoin one day, they  will see no value in bitcoin again, they will dump bitcoin and call it all sort of name, with all these i know there will be holders who will follow bitcoin till death apart. They will hold on no matter how tough things will be for our mother coin.My question is which side will you be?. LONG LIVE CRYPTO, LONG LIVE BITCOIN.

I don't know, is it betrayal if you decide one day that you will sell all your Bitcoins? Perhaps it is only if you commit to HODL it for eternity. But of course, you simply cannot do it. Later on, you will decide to sell them. I cannot predict as to the exact reason why. Perhaps because a BTC is already worth a million dollars, or perhaps because you are in need for some cash, or perhaps because it is already dying. Only time will tell. Although as of now, I cannot leave Bitcoin for certain reasons. One of which is that it has yet to blossom fully and I am committed to contribute to its success by having some and by using it accordingly.
7864  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: With a booming on 2017 and difficult time on 2018, will Bitcoin recover on 2019? on: January 06, 2019, 04:44:58 AM
I had a not-so-good story in 2018. That was a rather sad story for the entire year. It was not really a big deal, though. On the overall, there is nothing to worry really. I have had a good story about my Bitcoin experiences since the day I hopped in. I always had a good feeling every time my year ends. It was only in 2018 that its end was not the kind that I wanted. It was therefore an isolated case, so to speak. A tiny blot on a wide canvas, in other words. The current year, 2019, is surely a get back year. This is definitely a year of recovery. With crossed fingers, we all hope the year will be much better, if not the best!
7865  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why I believe Bitcoin will remain number 1 on: January 06, 2019, 03:54:41 AM
So far, the entire cryptocurrency universe is being led by Bitcoin. Of course there are a few alternate cryptocurrencies that are also at the forefront in the worldwide crypto promotion. However, the general impression is that if you are a crypto supporter, you are naturally supporting Bitcoin as well. But it might not be the other way. It does not necessarily follow that if you support Bitcoin you are also supporting the altcoins. In other words, Bitcoin is the common denominator of everything. No doubt why when it comes to bull and bear seasons, Bitcoin is also the first. The first to rise and the first to suffer as well. Crypto is almost equal to Bitcoin at the moment.

7867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you always invest in top ranked coins? on: December 14, 2018, 02:18:57 AM
Hi Everyone,

As advised I am trying to learn the basics of crypto first.

Most of the suggestions mention investing in top ranked coins. My question is, does it always work? As far as I understand, the market is vulnerable and affects almost all the coins from top to bottom. How then you determine which ones would stay ?

If and when the entire market goes down, that would always include even those at the top. However, if you invest in the top-rated coins, you are actually reducing your risks somehow. If and when the market dives, as it does every now and then, those at the top will definitely remain standing and alive. Those at the bottom part might go dead altogether. At least with those cryptos at the top rank, they have larger and more solid communities to rely on.
7868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Beaxy - The All-in-One Cryptocurrency Exchange on: December 03, 2018, 08:41:51 AM

My hats are off to this guy/gal for constantly feeding this ANN thread with the latest updates of Beaxy. You've done a great job!

We will wait for their launch in the first month of 2019. I hope that by then the market has already recovered. Exchanges are decreasing with daily volumes because of the down market.
7869  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin prediction from 'Experts' on: November 23, 2018, 08:12:57 AM
The truth is that experts do not agree with their speculations most of the time. On the contrary, they are inconsistent and oppose each other. Second, they are not infallible. Let us all see and wait.
7870  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How well does Bitcoin function as a currency? on: October 01, 2018, 08:30:41 AM
Successful currencies meet three criteria:

(1) they are in widespread use as medium of exchange
(2) they serve as unit of account
(3) they are a stable store of value.

Most sovereign currencies fully meet all three criteria.

What about Bitcoin?

I think Bitcoin passes all three criteria for a successful currency. However, because it is still very young it needs more and more users, both from the business community and the community users themselves. At this point, it is not as widespread as it will be. As far as the 3rd criterion is concerned, it surpasses stability. Its value is fast rising to the point of people not using it as a currency anymore but rather as a store of value more than any other.
7871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: shall i convert my bitcoins to ethereum? on: September 30, 2018, 07:06:33 AM
No. Do not leave Bitcoin altogether. Ethereum is also a good coin. In fact, it is always sticking right beside Bitcoin in the ranks. That has been ongoing for a long time. But that does not mean that it is the only coin worth holding. I always have Bitcoin and Ethereum in my wallet, along with several other altcoins. Bitcoin is going to go back to the 5-figure price very very soon. And even if it takes a little more time, it is still the number one.
7872  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DO PEOPLE STILL HAVE CONFIDENCE IN BITCOIN? on: September 29, 2018, 12:18:53 PM
I am very confident to say yes. You are correct, this is not the time to give up on Bitcoin. The price is very low. That simply means, it is a very attractive deal for buying more. Instead of taking the current market situation negatively, it would be much better to take it the positive way. Why worry about the price falling down? Are we not yet used to the fact that the price of Bitcoin has always been like a ball, bouncing up and down?
7873  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where are you trading? on: September 29, 2018, 11:36:56 AM
I have heard and read several complaints against HitBTC. But as far as my personal experiences are concerned regarding the trading platform, I have not encountered a single incident that would lead me to avoid the exchange. While some are saying that the site is shit, I would not say so because my trading there is smooth. I think there are always complaints when it comes to individual experiences, regardless of which exchange you are using. There will always be glitches. There are so many choices out there. Feel free to choose one you are most comfortable with.
7874  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH to hold now or not? on: September 29, 2018, 01:31:17 AM
Come on, do not panic. I can see a good deal of tension within you with this post. Why should you not hold when the price is at the bottom? Is there any reason to dispose your ETH? Have you made gains right now? If not, then that is enough reason for you to continue holding. Selling means you have already made profit. If you sell without that, it simply means suicide, throwing away precious coins. Be rational enough. Ethereum remains at the top.
7875  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: KYC to airdrops is it good? on: September 29, 2018, 12:59:07 AM
The choice is theirs, mate. Personally, I don't like it either, but since they all have the choice whether to join or not then it will be fully up to them. I know that a lot of people here are only looking for free tokens. They would go as far as repeatedly joining airdrops even if they have an inkling that the tokens they will receive will only be worth a lollipop. I would not exert much effort for such small amount.
7876  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think that the HODL approach is good bitcoin? on: September 28, 2018, 09:46:10 AM
HODL is good both for you personally and to Bitcoin itself. Bitcoin's value relies on its owners. Everything is in the hands of Bitcoin holders. If they decide to dump, the value will also go down. And if they decide to buy, the price will rise. In the long run, as more and more people get to know Bitcoin, the demand will also rise. It is here where the value of HODL is clear. The demand is definitely rising, which also means a rise of its price. Look at the prices of Bitcoin over time. There is a consistent and strong rising.
7877  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What makes a successful trader, not a gambler? on: September 28, 2018, 09:07:22 AM
Well, the basic is that before jumping into something, you make sure that you know the possible repercussions of which. You do not just get yourself involved into something without knowing the possible risks, benefits, processes, and so on. There are so many crybabies and whiners in crypto. But the blame is to be put fully on them because they did not even care to learn the basics before joining. The crypto world is not for the lazy and emotional ones.
7878  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is burning of unsold tokens is good for ICO???? on: September 28, 2018, 08:35:37 AM
Burning of tokens does not speak of any kind of actual development to the project itself nor to its product. However, it is still a very positive news because it means the team is not anymore holding a huge amount of tokens that they could dump anytime. Moreover, it also means the total supply of tokens is reduced, causing the remaining tokens to have the probability of acquiring more value.
7879  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin be harder to access in the future? on: September 28, 2018, 08:01:21 AM
No, the opposite is quite true. Instead of Bitcoin becoming harder to access in the future, it will become a lot easier. Right now, there are so many people who are very interested to buy and use Bitcoin but could not because of a lot of hindrance. There is the fact that they can hardly buy Bitcoin using fiat in their localities, Bitcoin restricted in their respective countries, Bitcoin not acceptable in most of their local stores, etc. But the future will cater to all these people because Bitcoin is fast becoming acceptable worldwide.
7880  Economy / Economics / Re: Will crypto solve socioeconomic problems? on: September 28, 2018, 07:20:28 AM
If everyone around the world gets into cryptocurrency, do you think it will even help in solving or lessen socioeconomic problems? Can it be used to buy goods from other countries? It is fair to say that crypto will help a lot of people but what will it do to one's country? Will it help improve a country's economy?

Well, it can be used to buy goods from any country in the world for as long as you are buying them from shops or sites where cryptocurrency is accepted. It does not matter whether it is from other countries. Crypto is global. It goes beyond territorial jurisdiction. To a certain extent, it may add good points to a country's economy. But I would not go as far as saying that it will solve socioeconomic problems of a country. Crypto is not a miracle capsule for that. It will help, certainly.
