For me, storage is the major issue. Unless we are very computer educated, it is very difficult to store the coins safely. There are a lot of thieves and hackers who target the new users. It is not widely used in my country, so its very difficult to exchange them for fiat.

Use offline wallet like trezor. It is very much secure even if you have an unprotected internet connection or have a malicious computer .Check out how it works:- http://doc.satoshilabs.com/trezor-faq/overview.html#how-does-trezor-work

Quote from: bitcointrezor.com
No matter how unprotected your computer or internet connection might be, your coins always stay safe with TREZOR as it never exposes your private keys. TREZOR is an isolated environment for offline transaction signing and using a small display you can visually verify the transaction contents. That's why all operations using TREZOR are entirely safe.
7887  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: uᴉoɔʇᴉq really is going down the toilet. on: April 01, 2016, 04:19:58 PM
Someone make a service to push TX through, i would happily pay for it.

Then why not just pay an appropriate fee?  Surely that would be cheaper than having to send a fee (with another tx fee) to pay for a service to allow you to circumvent paying a larger fee to send your transaction.

No i did not put a "lower" fee. The thing is BTC itself is bloated as fuck thats the issue, i was always supporting "core" but if any other team can now say they will fix it right away i would support them as this is just unacceptable.

Show us the transaction you're complaining about so we can point out that you're wildly underpaying for the service you're expecting.

I sent it with default fees, MB wallet sends it like this:

https://blockchain.info/tx-index/5bc33bf29987c995cb9c11f052c5b2792b5890e414806fc27df7a7fe93101c45

Well you paid only 0.0001 fees that was very much low for a 4BTC transaction.I recommend you to use web wallet to adjust fees that is rightly available in " Send" section. However you can check this to adjust fees rates :- https://multibit.org/en/help/hd0.1/fees.html

Everything has its pros and cons. I love bitcoin , the way it works and I also love to spread the word bitcoin to users who I know.
Yes , the one and only reason I hate about bitcoin is anonymous as it become the advantage for criminal things mostly
But the main thing that is con is that it is anonymous as said up above by btc-facebook and is more likely encouraging some guys who indulges in money-laundering and illegal things. Well I think the main question is here:- "Is bitcoin being anonymous is  good or bad part?" What do you think?
7889  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Forgotten wallet string sentence on: April 01, 2016, 03:35:18 PM
Go to https://blockchain.info/wallet/forgot-password

There are two ways in which password can be changed:-

[1] Mnemonic Phrase (in your case which you don't have)

[2] Forgotten Identifier

Go here and type in email address from which your blockchain wallet was registered and type in captcha and hit "submit".Go to your email-id and check for password reset email and reset following the link.
i thought that if the email is changed and password by a hacker how will i get my wallet back, if i contact blockchain they might ask for i.d to get the account back. my info is not real thus making it impossible to get my lost account again

Well if he hacks your email account he will for sure steal away bitcoins in your bitcoin address if you have btc in your wallet. So it is better to keep a tight password for email account registered with exchanges, pools or web wallets. However just for info. even if one know the wallet identifier and the password a hacker cannot access it until or unless he gets the link that is emailed about login from other computer which is a plus point.

Within a few hours, they closed the Member level entries. You can remove the Member row from the Bitsupra list now.

Well there is no need to do that. You can mention that member post is filled in additional info. Many users will think that they dont allow members as participant if member row is removed as you said.

Just a little word of warning someone is going to bot the hell out of this.
We had the same issue on allcryptotalk when we tried to do this kinda ref system.
You have given people the ability to abuse your system.
It might be wise to put in to get paid out 10 non spam post requirement till they can get paid.

You can make a bot to signup on forum software's very easy.

Exactly this will sure move up users and spam up a forum which comes up with those giveaways.I went into the site and observed users posting  up and spamming all away in forum with useless questions and was later on I was amazed to see a global moderator hitting up a 41.1 posts per day (411posts in 10 days).

7892  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you were rich, would you still gamble? on: April 01, 2016, 09:33:13 AM
Yes indeed, it is good to gamble for fun and if you are rich you can gamble just more and you have also more fun and that is very good for your morale.
If you are poor than you must ask if they will still gambling if they become poor because of gambling, some people are poor because of gambling and that is bad.

Well if you are rich why gambling more until you end out.It is better to gamble with low funds rather then making huge bets with fact that "I am rich".Gamble is not a way which guarantees you win for sure even if you make  huge bets or whatever (High win chance).

Gambling is not more than entertainment.Don't make it a part of life.It will eat you at some point of time.

I would probably gamble, but only for fun, and only sports betting. And if you consider day trading crypto a form of gambling, then yes, definitely. Smiley

Exactly ,that is a kind of thinking that we should have.
7893  Economy / Exchanges / Re: ***Cubits Bitcoin Platform (Official Thread)*** on: April 01, 2016, 09:08:27 AM
Hi everyone!

On the occasion of the upcoming Bitcoin block reward halving, we are launching a contest.

Guess the time when the halving occurs and get a reward:
1st place — 0.5 BTC
2nd place — 0.3 BTC
3rd place — 0.2 BTC

We accept predictions on our Facebook page (/CubitsBTC or simply find the link in the profile). So, to participate, please
- LIKE the Cubits Facebook page,
- SHARE the post with the contest rules, and
- leave a COMMENT with your prediction to that post.

It sounds really easy, so we’ll challenge you to guess the exact time (day, hour, minute, second).

Please submit your estimations in UTC/GMT 0 time, format: DD/MM/YY HH:MM:SS.
Those 3 who get the closest to the exact time of the halving will grab the price.

We’ll accept your submissions during April 2016.
Start: today, April 1st;
end: 30th April at 23:59:59 UTC.

Please note that ONE person can make only ONE prediction.

Bitcoin block reward halving time is the time when the 420,000th block is solved.
We’ll check with the data on Blockchain.info.

If more than one person make winning guesses, then the prize of 1 BTC will be split proportionally between the first three winners.

Good luck!

P.S. Feel free to ask any questions!

Well giveaways or contests don't belong to this section. If it is just an announcement for the contest,I would recommend you to create a separate thread in "Games & Rounds" section of the forum and ask whoever participates to post up there.

7896  Economy / Gambling / Re: I turned 1 BTC into 41.5 BTC! Now I want to withdraw... on: April 01, 2016, 08:09:28 AM
Just looked at his post history, his last post was February 25th & they still hadn't paid him then. That was 5 days after the OP.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=200868;sa=showPosts

He hasn't posted since 25th Feb so we don't know what happened?

I think they did processed his withdrawal requests. However I think he was too busy to post that withdrawal was being processed.

P.S
Can you please address the withdrawal issues at least?

Withdrawal works normal, except the hot wallet needs to be refilled, few withdrawal was made when you asked this question
7897  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: April 01, 2016, 07:58:07 AM
Really bad performance by the Indian bowlers yesterday. Basically, I'd say when they lost the toss at the same time their winning prediction came down. There was too much dew (after the 1st innings) which made it easier for the WI batsmen to score.

For the next final match I'll go with WI as I'd guess that 2016 is the year of West Indies. U19 team of WI won the cup this year & now both WI men & women teams are in the finals.

Well indeed it was a bad performance by bowlers. The two no-balls give Simmons a cut to manage to give a West Indies a ticket into semi-final.It was really a heart breaking moment for Indian fans when Russell banged a six off the 4th ball of last over . However I would say bowling conditions weren't the same after 1st innings and lot changed.

Anyway cheering West Indies now for their Second World Cup T20 win. What do you think about West Indies vs England [Final].
7898  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: advantage of uᴉoɔʇᴉq debit card? on: April 01, 2016, 07:44:16 AM
Well i think its useful as most of us have problem doing with paypal. So we can eliminate them by using bitcoin debit cards.

Moreover there is always a threat of theft associate with debit cards.

Well every thing related to money contains threat of theft .There is no way you can eliminate it but you can lower the chances provided if you take necessary security steps .

[2] Change password daily and maintain a thread in meta stating reason for password change as security measure

Changing passwords daily will also help and be sure to maintain a thread in meta stating reason for password changes as "Security Measure" with a signed message from bitcoin address staked in.

:O
there is not need for changing the password daily! you should be out of your mind to do this. besides you should remember these passwords for the next time and then come up with another secure password the next day.

you should just add a strong password (long+char+number+symbol) and remember it. there is no need to change. maybe once in 1 or 2 months.

also don't sign in if the site is not bitcointalk.org because there are a lot of copies similar to this.

Well it depends what you think about it(I mean security stuff) .Well it is nothing that is out of mind as most of users do that.Talking about remembering those passwords , install softwares that manages and saves passwords.

Yeah i think by mentioning it daily i think i get into the extreme position but yeah you can set up password changes according whatever period suits you(daily, monthly, yearly). There is no compulsion
