cypherdoc;
do not feed people that are just looking to fight...
It pains me to see so many people I have on ignore popping up in your replies because you quote them, you are making all my well thought out 'ignores' redundant.
just use ignore, trust me.    Nothing will be missed that is of value.

it's ok Minor.  i'm a big boy.  i can handle them myself.

the KNC trolls have a well documented method of attack.  first, one will deliver an unprovoked personal attack against me.  they start it EVERY SINGLE TIME.  something along the lines of how stupid HF was to hire me.  this is a feeble attempt to make them look bad by making me look bad.  we're all bad!

this is then followed by a pile on by other KNC trolls.  we all know who they are.  their motivation is clear; try to degrade and if possible destroy the competition so that their Jupiters/Saturns provide the ROI that they never will.

and yes, i will respond.
I like reading your econ stuff cypherdoc but I was just curious how do their personal attacks on you can "degrade and if possible destroy the competition so that their Jupiters/Saturns provide the ROI that they never will."?

by bringing into question their decision making.

never mind that i helped them sell out Batch 1 in 18 days. it would've been 2 days if they hadn't had the webcart problems at the start.

it's a stupid strategy b/c their motivations are so clear.  personally attacking ppl around here does them no good.

7923  Economy / Speculation / Re: Winklevoss Bitcoin Trust on Bloomberg on: October 24, 2013, 01:18:03 AM
Am I missing something, or is there really no news?  It's a blank screen, still awaiting the "approval" or whatever.

Well, I guess the only news is that they filed and then it was sent back to them to add some more legal explanations, which they did, and it seems like the ETF approval is going through the normal stages. What this means is that it is not dead in the water and its optimistic that progress is being made. The fact that Bloomberg has a spot ready for the EFT if approved is visually optimistic, although I would doubt - could be wrong - that this really has nothing to do with final approval. However, while some laughed the ETF off as not standing a chance of approval, it seems that is not the case. And that, in my opinion, is great news.

good interpretation.

In fact its expected. Grow up.

I have had the opportunity to look into the eyes of the principals involved as well as shake their hands.  I have worked with them closely for the past two weeks.  I believe that these people will make a full faith effort to deliver on their promises. Whether or not they are actually able to deliver working units by November, I can’t absolutely guarantee.  But, I believe that they have the talent and work ethic to make that a distinct reality.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=270363.0

Could you explain which of these two statements made by you is actually the correct one?

So basically at the beginning you believed they had the talent to do it but now it's delayed it's to be expected?  You make a positive assertion that you believe they can do something then when they don't you tell people to grow up a delay is expected?  You wonder why people question you?

You were paid to endorse their product, the company you endorsed failed to meet their stated timeline, you and HF deserve all the ire that is directed at you because YOU guys brought it on yourselves.

When oh when for the love of god will you fucking nerds stop listening to these godamn manufacture's that only want you to fund their start up for 0% equity!

i like how you missed the part that i've highlighted in red.  looks like i was prescient from day 1 of that post.

it's ppl like you, who impulsively react and attack other ppl w/o understanding what's involved in a complex project like this that bring so much animosity to the mining arena.  it's sad.

I didn't miss anything champ...  HF estimation was late October (20th - 30th?) and your statement was by November.  If you add the two up you get end of Oct or by Nov, not by end of November as you seem to imply now.  Really if what you meant was I am confident they will deliver at worst a month late then you should have said exactly that and not played into the end of Oct saying by Nov.  You know who you remind me of when you use bullshit double talk, Inaba.  I suggest you bring much more animosity to the mining arena by using Inaba speak to lure investomers into your scheme than a simple poster like myself.

let me ask you something.  do you have an order in place with HF?  or are you just trolling to try and cause trouble?

secondly, what is all that babble you're trying to get across?  add the two dates up and take an average?  what kinda idiocy is that?  and just what scheme are you inferring here?  they are producing a product, no question.  this isn't some kinda scheme or scam as you're trying to imply.  they've had a delay.  period.  they will deliver and it's likely to be by November.

yes, when i say November, i get the benefit of the entire month as i did not specify a date.
7925  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Sierra Overclocking on: October 24, 2013, 12:38:26 AM
Nothing that will make you roi.
Full point.
Most of the people in this forum are miners.
It's in their best interest to scare everybody away from mining in order to maximise their own investment.
It was a simple question.

not only that but scare everyone away from a competing company by bashing anyone and everyone related to it.

the answer is yes.

great to know we give trust to a no name company and as usual they screw there customers.
Hashfast said i belive multiple times about how they had multiple backup plans incase any one part of there production failed obviously that was an outright lie. It is clear to me that they pretty much planned everything at the last second. They on october 18th decided to switch power supplies? That is something that should of been decided a long time ago not 2 days before expected delivery.

Quite funny to see how quickly cypherdoc disappears from the chat and no longer has anything to say.

Maybe because I don't feel like acting like a child like you and erdouchen? Notice how erdouchen whines  when I enter the KNC thread but he has no  problem coming in here when he wants to troll.

I'm just as upset as you guys as I have 9 BJ's on order but there's nothing I can do about it. In fact its expected. Grow up.

once we get over 230, there will be 0 days in Bitcoin history where the BTC price has closed higher.

These are nice too  Smiley

I'm curious; and not going off topic too much, would you be able to explain what each of the coins pictured are and if they use any authentication?

they're merely tokens and have no BTC loaded.

How many pioneers have you brought on aboard?

Damn, you took my plate... Grin I love it though. I guess I'll settle with SATOSHI for my next plate. Smiley

a yellow one at that!

like a bright neon sign!

By order of the Grand Priesthood of Satoshi I hereby call and ordain Richard Brown to the order of High Priest of Cryptocurrency Public Relations.

In all seriousness, Richard, that was probably the most eloquent interview I've seen on bitcoin and cryptocurrency.  It was a delight to listen to somebody with as deep a technical background as yourself speak so simply, and it was refreshing to hear you call attention to the novel and innovative features of cryptocurrenty beyond (obvious) economic/currency implications.  Thanks for being a part of the community, and please keep it up!

proudhon!

are you back for good?

cypher!  I've sure missed you guys.  I'm still gonna keep out of the spec forum, but, yeah, I think I'll be hanging around here a little more.  I needed a break, and had a very busy summer.

great to see you back; in bull's clothing (you can't hide it).

did you buy back yet?  only 1 day in BTC history where the price has closed higher than now!

Gold collapsing.  Bitcoin UP.

Gold is not precisely collapsing today Tongue.

if you'd been following since 8/9/11, this has never been about the day to day picture.

it's been a Big Picture Viewpoint of a major financial global event that has the potential to change the world.

edit:  forever.

Thanks!

Any yes, you're right. I let my voice get ahead of my brain in that section and mistakenly implied that DPR was tracked down through Bitcoin. I stand by the statement that it is possible, in general, to walk the blockchain to break through the veil of anonymity but you are, of course, correct that this is not how Silk Road was taken down.

Thanks for taking the time to view the video.

Richard.

is that really true?

lets say you send 1 BTC to my sig address and i go and spend 0.5 BTC on candy with the other 0.5 BTC going to change.  then, the candy dealer goes and buys drugs on the next SR's web account.  does that mean i was involved in the drug deal?
7937  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finextra interview with IBM architect about Bitcoin on: October 22, 2013, 10:35:53 PM
well done Richard.  nice to know we have someone from IBM onboard and who's as articulate as you.

one point.  i believe you said that b/c SR was able to be taken down, it proves that Bitcoin can be regulated.  i disagree with this.  it only proved that DPR made a mistake in his personal dealings leading to his downfall.

nothing to do with Bitcoin.

other than that, job well done.  you're a credible source.

BCB, would you mind posting a pic of the back of the coin?  thanks.

Here you go. There was a QR code I removed that linked to the titian site for activation as well as more digits to the coin id code (not short bits).

that's a beautiful coin.  why did you remove the QR code?  did you get one with a privkey underneath or did you go with website activation?
7940  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast launches sales of the Baby Jet on: October 22, 2013, 08:20:22 PM
Yes, hashrate will not drop until we hit 30 billion difficulty or so. The only thing that could cause it to drop is a huge drop in BTC. Like down to $50 or below. As long as it stays above 100 we won't see difficulty drop for a long time.

I do see it happen earlier than 30 billion; at that point growth will be slow enough that statistical variation might cause a small drop in difficulty. I guess a massive DDoS could also help. But in general, yeah hashrate isnt going to go down for the foreseeable future. I dont even think a BTC price drop to $50 will do that any time soon, very few people will turn off their expensive asics just because BTC rate imploded "temporarily". Particularly since most of them would still be operationally profitable for quite some time, even at that price.

I would definitely turn off my ASICs if the electricity costing to run them was less than the value of the BTC they were returning. I would take that electricity money I saved and buy BTC with it.

I'd end up with more BTC and the same money spent. The choice is simple.

THIS is what i'm talking about.

others will make the same choice as you; after all this is about making money in the end.

the most efficient machines are the ones that will make it thru the gauntlet over time.  what will be interesting is just how fast sub 28nm machines will come online.
