The impact of technology on our social, mental, physical and environmental health can be devastating if we don’t keep ourselves in check. There’s no denying the benefits we have gained from technological advancements, but as with all things in life moderation is key. Being aware of the harmful aspects of the overuse of electronics will help you avoid any unnecessary pitfalls. We have also compiled a list of reading material that delves deeper into this relatively new area of study.

I also strongly believe in God because He is  Real. The chances of all of this complex universe happening without the existence of an involved God who cares about his creation are less than a million billion to one. It is kind of lame to believe in chance when the odds are that low. I don't even bother to play the lottery because a million to one is too low. It's much easier to believe in God than to believe the one in one million billion chance that He does not exist and care about what He made.

Gay adoption is nothing new. Gays and lesbians have been adopting for a long time, but legislation has gradually changed, offering them more options than ever before. Some facts and issues are unique to this community.

What may die out in large measure, though never totally, is the requirement that religious narrative be true in a literal-historical and exclusive sense. It will not, however, depart without a lot of Sturm und Drang, and especially from those of a more fundamentalist bent. The more deeply the ego is tied to the truth of a religion by fear and the need for a structure to make sense of existence, the more difficult it will be for a person to loosen the ties.

I do not believe there is any reason to believe that religion will die out anytime soon. Most of the major world religions have followers than number in the millions and most of the planets inhabitants believe in one form of religion or another. Christians numbers are up and well as Buddhists and the people of Islam.

Using technology can affect a child’s ability to empathize. A study on two groups of sixth graders found that kids who had no access to electronic devices for five days were better at picking up on emotions and nonverbal cues of photos of faces than the group that used their devices during that time. The increased face-to-face interaction that the test group had made students more sensitive to nuances in expression.

Using technology can change a child’s brain. An article in Psychology Today says that the use of technology can alter the actual wiring of the brain. More than a third of children under the age of two use mobile media. That number only increases as children age, with 95% of teens 12-17 spending time online. The time spent with technology doesn’t just give kids newfangled ways of doing things, it changes the way their brains work.
91  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is taxation theft? on: July 12, 2017, 04:02:10 PM
Secondly I strongly believe that The government can’t be a thief, because it is the government that defines property rights through its laws. The government can simply make laws that say that the money you are supposed to pay in taxes isn’t really yours in the first place; it is the government’s money
92  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is taxation theft? on: July 12, 2017, 03:57:29 PM
Taxation is not theft, because citizens have agreed to pay taxes. This is part of the “social contract,” which is a kind of agreement between citizens and the government, whereby the citizens agree to pay taxes and obey the laws, in return for the government’s protection. By using government services (such as roads, schools, and police), and remaining present in the government’s territory, you indicate that you accept the social contract.
93  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is taxation theft? on: July 12, 2017, 03:52:43 PM
The idea of taxation as theft is a viewpoint found in a number of political philosophies. Under this view, government transgresses property rights by enforcing compulsory tax collection.

Alcohol mixes in the blood 4000 times faster than sugar and salt do. The body becomes numb upon consuming alcohol. The touch of one’s own hand feels unfamiliar. Alcohol mixes with the blood 4000 times faster than sugar and salt do, and alcohol is absorbed in the blood 200 times faster than oxygen and carbon dioxide.

Alcohol absorbs moisture from any object. Thus, inflammation is experienced when alcohol comes into contact with any part of the body. Sometimes, even the skin experiences a burning sensation. From this we can imagine the harmful effect of alcohol on the extremely sensitive mucous lining of the stomach.’ – HBP Sudhatai Dhamankar.

Alcoholism is a broad term for problems with alcohol, and generally refers to alcohol addiction, which is the compulsive and uncontrolled consumption of alcoholic beverages, usually to the detriment of the drinker’s health, personal relationships, and social standing. It is medically considered a disease, specifically an addictive illness. Alcohol misuse has the potential to damage almost every organ in the body, including the brain. The cumulative toxic effects of chronic alcohol abuse can cause both medical and psychiatric problems
97  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If we were all inmortal would religion die? on: July 12, 2017, 01:22:08 PM
As has already been said, we are immortal. Psychically, even after you die, your energy content will be bound to the cosmos.

However, consciously, if we never had the fear of death, we would not have to find ways to distract ourselves from if the first men knew this, then no, it is unlikely we would have religions in the way we do today.

We may however, have some form of cultish worship for the elders of humanity, beings who are many millenia old, and lived in both the stone ages, and the now. We would surely look up to them!
98  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why voting for the liar? on: July 12, 2017, 01:11:07 PM
One factor is what the media would show. Some politicians would tend to tell other side of an event to give more positive view on whatever they did. Voters on the other hand would want to hear something that can benefit them in the easiest ways
99  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Proof that God exists on: July 12, 2017, 12:58:22 PM
Selfish interests have corrupted religion. Consequently, many good-willed people have been moving away from faith as they notice their creed serves as tool for dominance and richness. Some become unbelievers due to religious disappointment. However, instead of denying the undeniable existence of God, we should refuse the inconsistent creeds, search new models and test them through the reason sieve. This is the way science evolves: a better model replaces a worse one. Why shouldn't we analyze spirituality by using the scientific method too?

it is important to note that God did not appear in physical form anywhere in the Bible. 1 John 4:12 say, "No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us." In Exodus 33:20 God says, "You cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live."
