installed new 1.3.0 wallet went missing 10k coins, synchronized with zero

Hi folks, to anyone having issues with improper balances showing in the wallet, it appears the wallets are 'missing' some transactions when you upgraded to 1.3.0. This only appears to affect people that were stuck on block 65003, e.g. those that didn't upgrade their wallets in time to be compliant with the 65k hard fork that we mentioned was planned. We tried telling everyone that upgrading the wallet was mandatory Wink

The solution is to close the wallet, completely clear all blockchain data from the data folder (%userprofile%\appdata\roaming\intensecoin) [be cautious to not delete any .wallet files! but all other files should be deleted], and re-open the wallet. Following a re-sync of the blockchain, you may then need to use the File > Reset wallet option. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Today we conducted tests of the difficulty algo revision and the results were promising. We are confident it will eradicate any NiceHash abuse of low difficulty. In the meantime, our main pool and the second most popular pool operated by James-Dawson have willingly disabled NiceHash ports to maintain a reasonable difficulty in the interim.

As alex said in his post, we have some great changes and updates coming soon. The Intense team is working hard as ever. Are you? Stay INTENSE!
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] INTENSE COIN - Blockchain backed decentralized VPN - Hybrid PoW on: November 18, 2017, 06:35:08 AM
This is certainly good. And we, the holders of wallets, what to do? How can I make transactions? 90 - 900 coins with 0 mix, give out failed

If you have coins currently pending in the mempool, you won't be able to send with even 0 mixins because your funds are still appearing as 'used'. It doesn't matter if you cancel them or if they are showing as canceled. If the transaction hash is still in the mempool, those funds will be inaccessible until the original transaction processes.

Guys it's like none of you read my previous post  Grin I'll make the text very large so you don't skim over it.

Not every single large TX can go into a single block, otherwise we would have a 100 MB block. We currently have about a 1 MB block size. CryptoNote requires by design that network block size grows at a slow rate based upon the cumulative size of the transactions thus far. In our young network, there were few transactions outside of coinbase mined ones, so the purpose of the 65k block upgrade was to periodically allow inclusion of large txs into the blockchain outside of normal growth restrictions.

The 65000 block upgrade is working as intended. However, it will take time for the rest of the large pending TXs to proceed. We did only allow for these special case large blocks to go into the chain every 5 blocks to mitigate attack vectors. Normally this is about ten minutes time, but in the face of the current high difficulty and minimal hash power on the network, it's taking quite a bit longer.

Why is your balance on the pool not showing up? Because blocks are not being found. It takes 60 blocks for your balance to update. Go look at the explorer, we are finding blocks at a very slow rate.

Why are your transactions pending? Because blocks are not being found.

Why are blocks not being found? Because the difficulty is high, because there was an influx of NiceHash power.

When will this be remedied? In 7-10 days, we will issue a hardfork to adjust the difficulty algorithm. We have provided solutions on how to decrease large transaction size, which is reducing the anonymity level/mixin level. Set it to 0.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] INTENSE COIN - Blockchain backed decentralized VPN - Hybrid PoW on: November 17, 2017, 08:34:51 PM
The explorer is now showing block 65k + properly, had to adjust the forknote code a bit. Thanks for letting us know.

In regards to why there are still pending large TXs: not every single large TX can go into a single block, otherwise we would have a 100 MB block.

The 65000 block did indeed include two large TXs, one at 742kb in size and another at 104kb. Prior to the upgrade these TXs wouldn't have processed for a long time.

If your wallet is stuck on 64,999, you're not running 1.3.0.

Is there a problem with the difficulty design of INTS?The hash is proportional to the difficulty, but the magnitude is too great, and after the difficulty, the hash can't keep up, causing it to be slow.Of course ,I don't doubt the technical content of this project.
We're working on revisions to the difficulty algo now. Until we received a huge influx of hashing power yesterday, it was not an issue!

Maintain calm guysDev have been working on a repair that will lessen the hash attacks, more info will be publish quickly by himthe DCy seedling nodes currently put into action this Fix and appear to operate good.all (swimming pools) will need to make use of this new dianstycoind launch when it published publiclyDev working on some things prior to its ready

I knew that something was going on with those spikes... i hope diff algorithm be fixed soon,
http://intensecoin.com/explorer/ is not working too...

The forknote client has some kind of issues with persistent RPC requests. It's been restarted and is working properly now. We'll look into resolving the bug.
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] INTENSE COIN - Blockchain backed decentralized VPN - Hybrid PoW on: November 17, 2017, 04:41:59 AM
I have 4,5kH and system is worked 10 hours. I didnt see any information.

Is it normal?

Normally, you would have a pending balance by now, but because blocks became so slow over the last several hours, your pending balance is empty. It takes 60 blocks for the pending balance to 'catch up'. As long as your number of hashes submitted is increasing, it's working properly.

I couldn't send the coin of my wallet, network cannot confirm it, or the amount was too big, I don't know what the problem is.

Your coins are in limbo because of the size until block 65,000. We should reach that block in the next several hours depending on hash rate and luck.

AtDr.Lecter,Your exploration pool seems working as expected now. I am wait to visit bathroom simply because I am frightened may something happen again I need to stop my mining immediately simply because I don't want to maintain my exploration platform keep on operating for nothing. Please recommend and give guarantee to all of us.Many thanks

Pool is down again?(

no, diff is too high
Too much diff.. 28minutes without block
So what kind of gameplan you fellow miners have with this new difficulty? Still trucking on, or bouncing elsewhere for time being?

I mined the coin a solid month+, and then took a break past few weeks to go back to XMR (luckily) before it jumped back up.

Was kicking myself for not mining this when diff dropped into the 20s, but now that it's in the 400s it's looking like a god awful choice to ever come back to until the dust settles again. I'd earn what I previously could earn in like 2-3 hours of mining.

Go away NiceHashers!  Smiley

It's on our immediate agenda to revise the difficulty algorithm in the next major update. We are already looking into options and will likely follow zawy's algorithm, similar to Bitcoin Cash. It's a great revision to the classic difficulty approach, and should really equalize things for big/small miners.

Hey guys, how do I adjust my pool-payouts to not be 5 ITNS?

No mechanism to do that now, sorry

Blocks are slow due to a massive influx of hashing power earlier today, that has since left the pool. See above.

Ensure to have the newest wallet (1.3.0) downloaded before the network update in less than 2000 blocks.
Updated Wallets for Windows, Mac and Linux can be found in the following link: https://github.com/valiant1x/intensecoinwallet/releases/tag/v1.3.0

I tried to download the latest version of wallet but my coin is in the old version wallet, and wallet can not syncron, belock stalled at 50068, there is a solution to solve this problem, honestly I do not understand with windows wallet.

Latest version should automatically sync up to main chain. If you're having issues, just close the wallet, clear the blockchain data from %userprofile%\appdata\roaming\intensecoin - delete everything EXCEPT .wallet files, and then restart the wallet.
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] INTENSE COIN - Blockchain backed decentralized VPN - Hybrid PoW on: November 16, 2017, 08:17:09 PM
Sent 40k ITNS to exchange about 8 hours and it never showed up.

Is there something I don't know about and just ethered all my ITNS?

Hi eat, as noted in our monthly update post, unfortunately it will be stuck in mempool territory until block 65k at which point large TXs will go into the block. As it stands now, TXs using mixins are very large, and the smoothly scaling block size algo defaulting in CryptoNote doesn't support large TXs early on. We have adjusted the code to allow for these blocks. It will take effect soon. Make sure you're on 1.3.0 wallet or later.

Intensecoin is now on CoinMarketCap!!

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/intensecoin/

EXCELLENT!
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] INTENSE COIN - Blockchain backed decentralized VPN - Hybrid PoW on: November 16, 2017, 04:34:19 PM
Why the hashrate for http://intensecoin.com/pool/ is more than the whole network's hashrate?

Network hash rate is calculated over time based upon the last X blocks. It won't "catch up" to small surges of increased hashing power until that hashing power remains consistent.

anyone knows why intense coin is not included in coinmarket?  Huh
Need 10000$ of daily volume for getting there.

4000000 ITNS by price 60 sat is 2 times more than 10000$  Shocked

Time has come!
So its time to make a request for listing  Wink

Alex already took care of it! Smiley

Pool error right? I see last payment 2 hour ago Cry

I say about this one hour ago...

Yes we are very sorry, our pool deamon has been facing issues since last network increase. We ask everyone to please move to other pools and help network decentralization... Thank you for understanding
The concentration of hash is a tricky business, but at the moment the network is stable, and If INTS future value exponential growth, it may come in a bigger hash.
The official pool server's power was just QUADRUPLED to help manage this massive influx of hashing power! Server is no longer sad and hashing is now awesome once again  Wink

For anyone having issues with private or public pool mining not properly synthesizing blocks, please checkout branch pre65kminingfix: https://github.com/valiant1x/intensecoin/tree/pre65kminingfix

This should no longer be needed after block 65k. The issue of fusion TX size was originally addressed many patches ago by disabling fusion TXs, but someone is using old software on the network that is again pushing fusion transactions into the mempool. This update will force the daemon to refuse including those txns into the block. The sheer size of fusion TXs pushes them over what cumulative block size should be at that time. The 65k block upgrade will resolve issues with cumulative TX size.

@valiant1, is the 'intensecoind.exe' embedded to the wallet?
I'm asking it, because when I open the wallet only, it sync the blockchain, but I don't know if it is acting as a node, but when I open the 'daemon' the wallet connect locally to the daemon and I can see external connections been made (print_cn).
Let know what's best, keep the daemon open (also opened firewall and router (NAT/redir) port 48772) or the wallet.

Yes, the GUI wallet contains an embedded version of the daemon and does act as a node.

So, I'm running IntenseCoinD.exe 24/7, and opened the port 48772 on my router point to the PC.

Then I got a lot of messages like this:
***************
INFO [XX.219.255.127:52108 INC] Tx verification failed

WARNING Failed to validate block 427b1353beb2617fb0b5eb548b5f5740b8d62d5feb68a6f65deb178c5f388cbb: Wrong block version

WARNING [86.134.0.XX:50422 INC] write operation timed out, stopping connection

***************

Maybe some users still using the old wallet and daemon I think, or another reasons for this warnings?
you must try with news version.  Cheesy

Yep!!! I´ve all new versions, I think (intensecoin v2.1.0.1243 (0.1-gfba89377f))
My guess is the client side software are outdate...

Latest version is 1.2.2... You can get the download here: https://github.com/valiant1x/intensecoinwallet/releases/tag/v1.2.2

1.2.2 is the wallet version...
I´m talking about the daemon (intensecoind.exe)
Using ´help´ command, it returns version v2.1.0.1243 (0.1-gfba89377f). There´s a new one?

angeloal you have raised a valid point which is that the versioning system is defunct! I'll fix it in the next commit - in the meantime make sure you have at least 1.2.2 from this page: https://github.com/valiant1x/intensecoin/releases

I recall reading on here about how we can't send big transactions, and then I thought I recall reading that issue was fixed, but I guess not?

Just tried doing my first outgoing transaction (to that stocks.exchange) by sending 15,000, then 10,000, then 5,000, then 4,000... And all triggered a "transaction too big" message.

Then after 4,000 I tried 1,000 and that amount was able to work.... But then, 5 minutes later when I checked the wallet again the transaction said "cancelled" and the coins were returned to my total amount. So essentially I have no clue what's going on Sad This a wallet-side issue or anybody know if that stocks.exchange site wallet is down and would therefore have the ability to block incoming tx's?

Running wallet version 1.2.2

Hey Crate, the client from 1.2.2 was designed to be compliant with the 50k block upgrade but we couldn't update certain configuration parameters in it until the upgrade was actually live. For a current network compliant version that should allow you to send those TXs, please see 1.2.4: https://github.com/valiant1x/intensecoinwallet/releases/latest

Welcome Slowgrowth!!! We are very happy to have him on board!  Smiley

Is the VPN implemented directly in the ITNS network to increase avoidance of blocks, so it really is impossible to trace or only an extra barrier is created?

Hi Priest, the VPN network data does not proceed over the blockchain but rather the Intense network acts as the backbone to facilitate the VPN. The transactions supporting use of the VPN will occur over the Intense blockchain, which is untraceable via Ring signatures. Due to the decentralized nature of the VPN it will be largely untraceable as well. Previously, when a counterparty or state agency was interested in gleaning VPN data, they would hack or view the data of the datacenter utilized by the VPN provider. In the context of Intense, every day end users are offering their private connections for VPN usage - this makes it much, much harder to track and monitor.
