According to this, assuming it is true, it seems like slightly more than trolling :

83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CHINA!!! on: September 06, 2017, 10:46:08 PM
China bans Google, Facebook, 2nd children, and now ICOs.. who fucking cares.  It'll stop some sheep, but not the lions.

Some might say banning Facebook and Google was also a good move.  Grin
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO banned, the impact on the world? on: September 06, 2017, 02:32:59 AM
Not in all countries. USA, China with Singapore and possibly Korea as well.

Also, it's not a ban, but regulation.  If this can help to prevent fraud and scam ICOs, then in general, I think it's a good idea.  However, the way the Chinese government has gone about doing it has led to a lot of unnecessary confusion.  The sooner it's sorted out, the better for everybody.

The Chinese ruling *may* also effect Hong Kong, which would effect Bitfinex and any Hong Kong based ICOs.
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buy ADX for quick profits! on: September 03, 2017, 01:45:49 AM
It seems more of a gradual decline over the last few days rather than a sudden drop, and movement on the orders seems a little slow.  Still, nothing ventured, nothing gained...
86  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to convert crypto to Cash? on: September 02, 2017, 05:04:31 AM

If you are in the United States, Coinbase makes it easy to withdraw by direct deposit to your bank account (after you have traded your BTC for Dollars).

If you are in the European Union, use Kraken and sell your BTC for Euros. You can then withdraw the euros to your bank account using SEPA.

Coinbase will also do SEPA transfers in Euros although it can take up to two days to clear in your bank account.  Also Kraken and consider looking at getting a TenX card to use in ATMs.  (https://www.tenx.tech/)

One suggestion, although it might be a long shot.  If you didn't want to use the exchanges, or were worried about anonymity, etc., then possibly try your local internet cafes.  I know some here sell bitcoin (at a premium) so perhaps some would also do the reverse.  I wouldn't do it in large amounts and expect them to take a generous slice.  Obviously that would also depend on where you lived.

Friendly Reminder: Exodus wallet is more secure than leaving your OMG tokens on an exchange, but nothing beats the security of a hardware wallet. I suggest you purchase Ledger Nano S.

True, and good advice.  However, Exodus is closed-source.  Personally, I would prefer an open-source app with similar functionality.
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: September 01, 2017, 02:26:30 PM
You guys are not seeing or talking about the upcoming rocket ride that was announced yesterday.  Forget the Moon, MCO price is headed for the stars.

Get the free blue plastic card, you're limited to $200 per month free ATM cash withdrawals from your crypto stash.

Get the red metal card, you're bumped up to $400 monthly free ATM cash withdrawals forever from your crypto stash - but you gotta freeze 50 MCO in a smart contract for a mere six months.  That's not a bad deal.

Get the silver/gold metal card, you're bumped up to $800 monthly free ATM cash withdrawals forever from your crypto stash - but you gotta freeze 500 MCO in a smart contract for a mere six months.  That's not a bad deal, either.

Say 10,000 people get a red card.  They freeze 10K*50 = 0.5M MCO out of the market for six months.  That's over 5% of the total current circulating supply of MCO.

Say 1,000 people get a gold / silver card.  They freeze another 1K*500 = 0.5M MCO  or another 5% of total MCO supply out of the market for six months.

10% of total supply of MCO can very plausibly get locked up for six months by the first 11,000 Monaco metal card holders.  This could easily happen - there's already over 8500 people holding MCO.....

https://etherscan.io/token/Monaco#balances

There's no reason why you should stop a one metal card.  You need to withdraw $5000 per month for free?  Buy multiple metal cards with multiple freezes of MCO.

What if there are 20K metal card holders by the end of the year?  50K?  What if they sign up for multiple cards?

Do the math.  Think of the possibilities.  MCO currently has a very limited circulating supply of under 10M tokens.  People are gonna be buying those precious MCO tokens at Bittrex soon to get their precious metal cards.  The price of MCO is gonna skyrocket as more and more metal cards get purchased in the next few months and more and more MCO gets taken out of circulation.

That's a different way of looking at things and you are completely right.  I hadn't thought about it from that angle.
5,000 cards already ordered on day 1, that could easily be 20k or more by the end of the week.  Physical cards get rolled out slowly from the end of September, meaning less and less coins in circulation...
That makes me feel better about the current price!  Wink

I am not able to focus with the camera on the identity card to verify the account.
I'm using android ... anyone with the same problem?

Yes, it took me a while, it seems very fiddly. But it does work.  If you swipe down, there's a little guideline box and you have to fit the ID card inside of that.  Once it recognises it, it is saved automatically & you have the option to accept that shot or to retake it.
90  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why transactions takes so long? on: September 01, 2017, 03:31:20 AM
If possible, use alternatives to Bitcoin.  Ethereum, Litecoin or Ripple are all significantly faster and cheaper.

Too many questions, not enough answers or detailed information.  I don't get a good feeling for this.

Android app works fine. Installed, registered and got the card ordered without any problem.  And bought a few more MCO on the dip  Wink
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: August 31, 2017, 05:05:10 PM
i got cooked yesterday, today.

Bought high, fled,

bought low, sold, then reinvested. twice i got fleeced.

i knew it was trading down and still went for it. i am an idiot.

so now .. I got about 3.5 BTC ready to smack this stupid thing (i am on tilt) - ill buy @44

legit every egg in this MCO basket. Call me a nutcase.

I bought high as well, then watched it go down steadily the last few days.  But I suspect that is controlled by whales wanting to enter while they can.
I'm holding, wait until after the app comes out & the VISA announcement, and as someone else said, possibly wait for a few weeks after that.  There is good potential in this project.

I'm curious as to why people think NEO is risky to hold?
96  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DO YOU AGREE? on: August 25, 2017, 12:34:58 AM
I think it's impossible for anyone to give an accurate prediction.  But having said that, around $5k by the end of this year is likely. And in 2018, $10-15k.  However, maybe the emergence of more suitable methods of payment (Eth, OMG, TenX, even Ripple) will have a knockback effect on this.
97  Other / Off-topic / Re: Should I Go To College ??? on: August 25, 2017, 12:01:06 AM
Hi everyone,

What advice would you give a HS senior in US about to decide on and/or enter college ?

Yes, definitely go.
But go when the time is right for you and when you've found both a course you want to do and a university/college that you feel comfortable with.

Also since you're in the US, maybe look at studying abroad somewhere as this will probably work out cheaper for you.  Some countries in Europe have no fees but you may have to learn the language as a trade off.  But travel and seeing different cultures is always useful too.
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 808 coin - worth a shot? on: August 24, 2017, 11:38:29 PM
Their web site is extremely basic and gives no technical details about the coin.   Looking at the chart from Cryptopia, it's had very little movement apart from an initial flurry last year and a smaller increase recently.  So, while I'm a big fan of the 808 and I support other music-industry related coins like Musicoin or Viberate, I fail to see the purpose of this coin.

Is the Joystream project still active or has it been abandoned?  Seems like an interesting concept.

I already use myetherwallet, was trying to find a desktop alternative.  So far Mist seems to be the best bet although I would prefer something a little more lightweight.

I looked at Exodus and it seemed good on the surface but the closed source nature of the software put me off.
