81  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Forum moderation policy on: July 19, 2017, 10:54:33 AM
I made a perfectly reasonable post that is in line with actual data, and it was deleted. No transparency as to who deleted it, no way to appeal it, or determine why it was deleted. How exactly does the moderation work, and why isn't there a better system for oversight/communication when things are deleted? I assume such protocols are in place, but I'm relatively new here.

Safe to say the market's changed a bit since the original post. Looks like it's trending up again, so maybe the drop in value was temporary.

I'm just curious. What if bitcoin and any other alts market fall and you invested all your money into this. Would you rather do Panic Selling? and How would you compensate all your losses?

Panic selling are for those who are not believing bitcoin is the future. Just hearing some fuds and saw the market is down their sub conscious mind has thinking a lot that they can't control or they can't think right and ends to sell all their assets.
If you have faith in cryptocurrency and it's enough to hold it until this drama ends.

I also slightly succumbed to panic and transferred some of my coins to fiat. But part of the crypto currency is still in my wallet. I know that in a few months the situation will stabilize and we will see the growth of coins again

That sounds like the safe move to me. Covering all of your bases.

For all the comments about holding, and not selling, obviously there's some risk involved. From an economics perspective, to profit significantly you need to have an element of risk involved. No amount of comments online can guarantee that BTC holds or increases its value, though we can hope and theorize about it.
85  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cause of Bitcoin Drop (7/14/2017) on: July 16, 2017, 07:53:51 AM
It may well continue to drop. Worth pointing out that it's still holding value better than Ether and others, which have dropped much more steeply.
86  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How strong is Bitcoin compared to others cyptocurrency? on: July 13, 2017, 12:36:59 PM
Generally speaking I think that cryptos are only going to become more important in the future, and bitcoin is well-placed to be one of the most valuable. Having said that, in the short term it may continue to drop, so if you're looking to buy and make a profit short-term it might not work out. Long-term it's as solid as they come.
87  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Cash is better than Bitcoin. on: July 13, 2017, 05:24:59 AM
Cash advantages--still can be used for more everyday transactions. In most major currencies, they're a more stable store of value than crypto (teams that raised $20 million in Ether last month probably wish they had that in dollar right now).  Disadvantage-cumbersome, need to constantly take more out of ATMs, can be stolen.

Credit-- can be used in most daily transactions. Disadvantage--can be stolen, traced, identity fraud, etc.

I think cryptos will get there as far as being viable for purchases and more stable (at least the major ones), but it'll take time. I like the idea of a hybrid, like the Monaco crypto-card.

If you're looking for a copy-editor, I'm also happy to help.
Whatever you do, I advise having multiple (native) readers check all content before posting it publicly. You usually need at least a couple of proofreaders to catch everything.

good luck!
89  Economy / Marketplace / Re: weird site but they give out free bitcoin, ive gotten paid b4. on: July 12, 2017, 12:17:41 PM
This sounds too good to be true. Is there a site for verifying whether an offer is legit or not? Or just go based on volume of responses/reliability of the poster?
90  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Alts fall, Bitcoin falls ... where is the money going? on: July 12, 2017, 10:40:59 AM
Almost the same scenario happened last time everything is on red. And if you are expecting when the alt coins are falling then bitcoin is increasing? I don't know but it's totally different now. It's like a domino effect and big profit takers are starting to withdraw their profit into fiat and they will enter again when the price gets lower.

Devil's advocate would be that Bitcoin could be the one stable crypto when alts start dropping. But that hasn't happened, so looks like you're right.
91  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we moving towards the Global Crypto Currency Depression? on: July 12, 2017, 08:56:08 AM
The point about the sheer volume of alt coins is very relevant. Has actual total $ and other fiat going into cryptos dropped, or has all of the new tokens been taking away from BTC, Eth and other major cryptos?
