81  Economy / Economics / Re: A lot wealthy people not smart they just use debt on: May 12, 2024, 05:54:10 PM
Wealthy people love debt. Unlike the poor people who just want to get out of debt as fast as possible, the wealthy are looking for more ways to increase their debt. In school I was taught that there are two types of debt the good debt and the bad debts.

Wealthy people are in the good type debt. Good debt is money borrowed to invest in a business like real estate , restaurants, or property whose value will bring in more money than the debt. However bad debt is there borrowed to buy liabilities. This is where the wealthy are smart. Their debts are the good kind of debt that increases their wealth despite being in debts.

As my economics professor would say, Using someone else's money (debt) to increase your own wealth is a skill the wealthy have mastered.

Debt has never been a bad thing it's just used wrongly by most common folks, have you ever wondered why bank gladly borrow money to business men even if they are owing?, that's because they make money of the little percent they take as interest.

If you take loan to invest in a business then you have made a good use of a loan and if you use it for personal needs like buying food or living luxury then you just created a mess for yourself to solve later.

Normally, debts is supposed to be used for common activities and to solve arising issues or unplanned transactions.Naturally, debt is a financial tool that has been used since ages amongst business individuals and financial experts.

Ordinarily, debt is supposed to work and solve certain issues but it seems to have been overused.Debt plays a significant role in the financial life and services of people and it either solves your problem, deters it or worsens the process depending on how you've applied the debt terms involved.

People get into debts to take care of unexpected life events, when there's a downturn in the current financial state and access opportunities that may seem to be out of reach. The debt method is so complicated and I wouldn't even consider it.
82  Economy / Economics / Re: Money is all wealth? on: May 12, 2024, 05:23:17 PM
That's probably because you haven't tried to live sustainably like growing your own garden where you can get all the stuff you need like food. If you actually know how to live in a farm, you can easily live out of the stuff that you maintain and grow there. Sure it might need money first but when things get going and you make it grow even more for yourself, you probably won't be able to rely too much on money anymore. So yes, in some way, money will never be all wealth, if you're talking emotionally, spiritually, there's more to things than just money to be called wealthy.

I truly believe that consumerism has rotten all our brains. Yes we all need money but some of us consider having luxuries as happiness and that is not genuine happiness. The society and social media is making you think that you need this and that so you end up spending your money however if you really think about it… you do not need all those things and you just need to live a fulfilling life.

Money is good, but wealth says it all.Generally, wealth is having a strong sense of abundance of money, possessions.True wealth comprises of financial stability, personal growth and a sense of purpose towards a good life.

Apparently, people have different descriptions as to what they really think or take wealth as.What been wealthy really is;is living the life of your own on your own terms without so much restrictions from financial  worries/insecurities.
Wealth is having a safe and strong financial life, meaning you Don't work, but you own and it's totally worth it.
83  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did you start investing in bitcoin because of some celebrity ? on: May 12, 2024, 04:41:54 PM
I see that current youth is inspired by celebrities and influencers in big way. Did you also start investing in bitcoin because of some celebrity ? Or you know people who belong to that category ? Is it a wise decision to do so or we should do our own research for better results ?
Celebrities promote many things in exchange for money which we call influence. they create video content only to show people with no guarantee that they will engage in it. So of course it is important to do your research before investing money in anything. But I am always encouraged to invest in Bitcoin. but I don't invest in influencers when they promote them for anything else. and Bitcoin has no regulatory body so I don't think the influencers get paid to promote Bitcoin. so I will definitely invest in Bitcoin

Celebrities are supposed to promote a business or a brand in exchange for money, but it's t advisable to disregard certain preparations and awareness towards a plan or investment choice such as Bitcoin. Most of the time, these so called influencers don't even utilize and demonstrate whatever they display over the internet for us on themselves.Although, some people are likely to be influenced by all these things and it affects them intentionally in one way or the other.

Recently, most youths or this generation are obsessed and mostly inspired/influenced by celebrities and they try to replicate and copy whatever that they do,which is why celebrities are the ones used to promote a business these days. But whatever happens, it's crucial to always adopt the DYOR syndrome before you attempt anything.I would never accept an offer because my Favorite celebrity is an influencer to the business.
84  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does the world know about Bitcoin? on: May 12, 2024, 04:20:25 PM
So far so good, Bitcoin is the world's  largest and most popular cryptocurrency,an estimated 1billion people around the world uses cryptocurrency/Bitcoin precisely. The truth is that no one knows the amount of Bitcoin users in the world in particular.Almost all the time,it is very hard and impossible to give accurate record of the worldwide Bitcoin users.

However, bitcoins popularity compared to other online investments has multiplied,Bitcoin community is increasing daily alongside with mass adoption.
Majorly,I can still believe that so many other people are not aware of Bitcoin or using Bitcoin because they are not still exposed to reality.
85  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are online/crypto casinos the most profitable digital business? on: May 09, 2024, 07:28:34 AM
I can't think of anything more profitable at the moment. Although I don't know in depth the income from online casinos.

However, to create an online casino, you need a lot of investment and be willing to pay for advertising and interact in a forum like this.

Do they make more profit than digital banks, CEX exchanges, etc.?
Online crypto casinos are profitable but not the only profitable digital business. There are so many of other businesses. I know you think this way because of the growing number of gamblers. It is one of the fastest growing digital businesses in my opinion. However, before you look at their success rate, you need to first look at the number of years it took for them to become successful. I also have a thought that when some of these online casinos starts out and the see that they cannot compete in the market because of saturation, they turn rouge. They begin to scam their customers, withhold their funds and give useless reasons, they can ban a user account without an explanation. I will conclude by mentioning that content creating is also very profitable, also ecommerce are all top ten in the profitable businesses in addition to online casinos.

They make more money than digital banks. Digital banks are restricted to their country geolocation but online casinos can service at least 5 or more countries in different continents.

I agree to this honestly and I think they make more profits than digital banks this is why the competition between the banks has been in a higher range as they try to meet up with this said digital business but then crypto casinos should endeavors to cover a lot of lapses as pertaining how they run most casinos and to make sure cyber security is on a good check so as to keep away from scammers and hackers.
86  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: In Your Country Who Gamble More? Young Ones or Elderly Ones on: May 09, 2024, 07:10:49 AM
I have lived in many communities and some States or regions in my country and there are some communities I went and I discovered that women are more productive by going to farm and other daily activities to provide food in the family than men. While the male sons and fathers are busy playing bet with Checkers Game and popular known in my locality "Draft Board Game" and bet on "Whot Card Game". And their.wives would go to farm or fishing to feed the families. Till date those things are common in the places I have visited in the country, mostly the elderly ones who the young once are busy using the casino centers and websites to play their games.

The elderly ones are still busy playing games with the traditional methods so most of us didn't notice that they are gambling but they bet with money and that has become automatically a gambling habit while the younger generation is using the new methods of online and casino Halls. Mostly of this elders would left home early morning to the draft games centers and stay there till evening. Playing games with one another. In most time they use places that sells drinks and smoking things like cigarettes and others. Those places are always busy with elderly people.

Do you see such elderly people in your country? Or is it only in Africa? Is the younger ones play gamble more than the elders?

I think the youth as per the Young ones Gamble more on a steady base than the elderly ones,I said this because the rate at which the young ones use their devices to gamble online gives it an evidence cause most elderly ones don't have much time doing that and what they do mostly is playing this draft game you mentioned and they can spend time on it and still go back to their duties but the young ones don't mind staying at a devices for so long doing this and that which make them gamble more than the elderly.
87  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Story of my life on: May 09, 2024, 06:59:34 AM
Have you ever noticed or am I the only one?

The more active I become with gambling, the more it drags me back, luckily I keep risking only what I want to lose.

The less active I become with gambling, the more positive it gets for me, not most of the time but my results are simply better than when I was very active.

It's like the casinos are wired to mess with the most active gamblers. I don't know, so far I can only find someone who has seen such before.

A friend who lives far away from me has also said the same, he got tired of gambling because it wasn't going his way but when he started talking it less seriously, that's when he started to get positive results.

Has anyone had the same experience before?

You meant as you take Gambling less serious that's when you get positive results as pertaining winning??or is it the other way round, your thread is really thoutful but then it's not nailing at a direct point, but if it's what I'm thinking your wanting to say.
Your trying to say when you're more active on gambling you tend to lose but when you become less concern and unserious with it that's when things turn up.well I'll say to that as gambling is really not in favour of anyone and it tends to fluctuate, have heard of someone that keeps gambling on steady and wins and when he's inactive he losses.so that's how it is.
88  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Attempting to turn 0.05 BTC into 1.7 BTC on: May 09, 2024, 06:51:46 AM
Hi everyone, I am going to attempt to turn 0.05 BTC into 1.7 BTC with football/soccer betting. I will be using this post as a journal for my bets.

The goal is to be able to pay for medical school! Feel free to follow or fade my bets! Smiley But always bet responsibly.

Starting Balance: 0.05 BTC

Bet #1: Colombia: Envigado FC - Real Cartagena FC | Over 3 | 0.025 BTC returns 0.06625 BTC
Bet Screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/Xn3BvXw

Result: -0.025 BTC

New Balance: 0.025 BTC

tips: bc1qgll9gt4gmf8rddnyynrdrmzq9qzv336w7yezce

This is way too risky to even carry on  but better still isn't it okay to just look somewhere else to raise out the money for your medical school rather than loosing money to bets just to get it in double folds and I believe you have so much faith in the bets of fetching you the required amounts you desire.
I know being successful requires you takin risk and I wouldn't dispute that fact so Good luck on your chase of this bigger targets.
89  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FED action against bitcoin & crypto on: May 08, 2024, 08:35:50 PM
Apr. 24: Samourai Wallet Founders Arrested and Charged With Money Laundering
Privacy wallet devs arrested for... Developing a privacy wallet. One was unfortunate enough to be arrested in the U.S. and the other will be facing an extradition battle.

Apr. 30: Binance founder Changpeng Zhao sentenced to 4 months in prison after plea deal
CZ Got sentenced to a jail sentence in spite of him having made a very extensive plea deal with the feds only to avoid jail. He had even given up his role as CEO. CZ had willingly come to the U.S. to stand trial and he still didn't manage to avoid a sentence even though he fully cooperated. Albeit a small sentence it goes to show how ferocious feds can be.

May 1: DOJ charges ‘Bitcoin Jesus’ with $48 million tax fraud, seeks extradition
Early bitcoin supporter and investor Roger Ver, who had rescinded his U.S. citizenship and was traveling on a Saint Kitts passport he had bought, was recently arrested abroad. Now the feds are seeking his extradition.

May 2: Wasabi Bitcoin privacy mixing service to shut down starting June 1, zkSNACKs cites legal certainty concerns
Another prominent privacy wallet shut down its privacy component proactively in light of developments from the U.S. pursuing action against privacy wallet developers.

They have always been against it  because they consider it as a threat to the present financial systems of the countries. While developers are increasing the bitcoin Software network, bitcoin is controlled by us all,and it'll take a very long time and efforts to transform whatever it is that bitcoin delivers to us.

This whole actions determines that bitcoin is a decentralized and the expected attempt to change or terminate it wouldn't be available or coming easily.
90  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETF good or bad? on: May 08, 2024, 08:20:46 PM
ETFs do not bring Bitcoin any closer to being used as a currency, it actually encourages it to be held for extended periods of time. It will attract more potential long term holders who could not gain access to Bitcoin directly which should cause the price of Bitcoin to increase and reduce price dumps caused by panic sell offs.

Nothing can give the government more control of the Bitcoin in your wallet if you handle it using the right privacy tools.

Initially,it creates room for exposure, setting aside the risks hat it possess. Its a center of attraction for investors to gain and regain acknowledgement without any complications or involved risks.
People that use ETFs for investment transactions always end up successful, renders a moderate impacts to your transactions to always increase distribution and reduce unnecessary mismanagement.
91  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you trust bitcoin holders? on: May 08, 2024, 07:59:13 PM
Having financial private life and being your own bank is financial freedom, and not anti-bank or anti-government. It is the government that is against the privacy of their citizens and wants to have control over everything her citizens are doing.

Bitcoin hodlers are normal people with different mindset, and everyone has the reason why they adopted bitcoin, if there is no trust in bitcoin enthusiasts, it means that p2p will bring more harm to the system. We have the good, bad and ugly, it is just the government that are making it look as if bitcoin enthusiasts are criminals of which we have more criminals using fiat for their illicit activities that government is even aware of but they keep don't bring it to the public.

Nobody can do without the government or banks because that is our tradition.

Simple and ordinary people that are trying to make lives convenient and safe for thier livelihood. Our governments are trying so hard to create a clash in between. Its definitely up to every person to reciprocate the same efforts, support, indulgence and keep trying to improve the economic conditions.

Bitcoin is more like a support system to us financially, and its not like how the government constantly regards it as a tool that promotes financial crimes.Bitcoin is freedom for all and it suits whatever situation you'll consider it;based on your knowledge, trust and awareness.
92  Economy / Economics / Re: Banning of p2p on crypto apps in Nigeria on: May 08, 2024, 07:43:39 PM
I am so much concerned to why Nigerians government is banning the use of p2p on some crypto apps. To their allegations, it's said the crypto is affecting the currency and it also aids money laundry. Can anyone enlighten if what the government is doing is the right thing. The government left the banking sector and blames binance and other crypto companies.

Governments don't care about what citizens think about their decisions, they don't care whether it's the right thing to do or not, they make decisions that will benefit them or won't affect them having more power and control over their citizens, and to be precise, this is mostly happening in third-world or developing countries where governments aren't able to accept cryptocurrencies and they are always looking for excuses to keep them away from their countries.

This money laundering and criminal activities and stuff are nothing more than excuses they make to make people think that they are protecting them but the reality is different and those who are involved in cryptocurrencies and use them understand that they are trying to suppress them doing this.

They clearly abandon the well being of thier citizens. These decisions that they have taken can cause significant damages to individuals, businesses and the financial sectors to a very large extent.
Extremely, governments manipulative actions towards the citizens increasingly contributes to financial breakdown and decline in the overall economic activities.
There are several other suspicious means whereby people can illegally participate in financial crimes, but they choose to regard bitcoin as a means which people carry out there illegal activities.People see, understand, respond, and retaliate to things differently, and that's a truth sincerely..

93  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Individual efforts and the progress of BTC on: May 08, 2024, 07:15:13 PM

What do you think the overall situation could be if more countries recognize Bitcoin?

Isn't it obvious that the effect is that we might see adoption of Bitcoin increasing if a country will recognized it just like what El Salvador has done. Although there are a lot of Bitcoin friendly countries already or at least in the grey area wherein it is not illegally to have Bitcoin and there are no taxes yet.

But in any case though, Bitcoin will continue to thrive, regardless if there are big countries that are going to support it and make it legal.

We have survived the last 10 years, and so it will go and sustained it run in the next 10 years with our without countries recognizing it.

Even with been unrecognized by some countries, more countries still gets to recognize it.Even with the ongoing setbacks and difficulties in the crypto space, there will be more people adoptions, recognitions and legalizations keeps occurring.
So no matter how things in the crypto space gets, efforts from individuals and overall/high ranked and notable individuals can possibly make positive results just to support bitcoin.

Bitcoin will keep experiencing growths irrespective of economical challenges, inappropriate predictions and unexpected inflation affairs.
94  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Edward Snowden Final Warning for Bitcoin on: May 08, 2024, 06:49:54 PM
Edwards Snowden think he's Satoshi Nakamoto, so he has a huge power to make the developers listen to him, while actually he's just an Average Joe in Bitcoin...
You definitely don't understand Bitcoin if you really think Satoshi Nakamoto has such a power/influence over BTC devs.

Hell, BTC Core devs have zero power/influence over miners... miners have the final word, since they possess the hashrate.

But bitcoin works with an unprecedented level of transparency that most people are not used to dealing with, does it mean that after all these years of improving and promoting bitcoin it still lacks privacy to operate for functionality and security.
To be honest, this latest warning has instilled fear amongst/midst of  crypto communities.Bitcoin developers are supposed to be aware of this lapses all along.

Bitcoin was invented as a heavy dose of anonymity and privacy altogether. So if privacy becomes a threat, that should be a withdrawal in privacy services and system abnormality.Anyways, bitcoin has it ways of responding to solutions and protocols.
It could be a REMINDER or WARNING!
95  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Accumulating Bitcoin or trading Bitcoin which is more wise to do. on: May 08, 2024, 06:12:32 PM
Trading bitcoin and accumulating bitcoin is not the same thing, and they good options if you're comfortable with taking risks and either of them can fall as your preferred choice.Crypto trading and crypto hodling will never be the same,so learn the difference that exist them and operate with the guide you suits your investment plan.

If you intend to commit to both investment strategies, then its also a good choice.Trading bitcoin is no child's play, using bitcoin in particular is also not for the weak and unintelligent beings. So long as you have knowledge towards your investment goal and you're taking the appropriate steps, precautions, implementing the required ideas over your decisions, you'll mostly not go contrary to your plans.Either ways, choose wisely!
96  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which device do you prefer for gambling ? on: May 08, 2024, 02:02:30 PM
A lot of gambling sites have emerged during and after the Covid-19 era and a lot of people have since then joined the gambling community.
We now have a wider audience who likes to gamble on desktop, laptop, mobile phone etc...
This poll is to see the most preferred device for gambling which I assume should be desktop as it provides a bigger screen and better user experience than any other device.
But a lot of people prefer mobile phones too and so lets just hit it and see what the actual results are.

Other devices mentioned are topnotch in aiding an efficient gambling process,I know most people prefer using their PC devices for gambling so as to why away from disturbances and let it look like they are into official business that doesn't need interruptions but I would say my phone is best used at times cause it's handy to carry every where and it's fast too ,with it I can do whatever online stuff I want to without interruptions.
So my mobile phone is my handy bag of doing any online gambling of my choice.
97  Other / Off-topic / Re: How much of my salary should I use to gamble on: May 08, 2024, 01:44:52 PM
Gambling is becoming a popular thing in my locality almost everyone gamble and even colleagues gamble and engage in gambling related discussions at work,  so gambling is legal and very popular so there is no Shame in using part of a salary to gamble with that is why I am asking the question of what the right percentage from my salary that I should use to gamble?

Mmm gambling with ones salary is a No no for me,I believe everyone have their own perspective on how they gamble and why they do so but it's advisable to gamble with the least percentage of one's income so as nit to chase over your kisses later on.
But thinking about using your salary to gamble, probably if that's the only income your having for now it's best you use 1% or any amount you can afford to lose .
98  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Between females and males, who are more resistant to gambling losses?  on: May 08, 2024, 01:31:07 PM
Yes, you read right as the topic stated. Also, which gender do you think can easily give up on gambling?

Which gender will get worse when they are addicted to gambling?

Or do you think it's the same thing for every gender that is into gambling?

I was just having a little chat on the other thread when I read a member's comment who says that women are better gamblers, which I really disagree with. I believe that men are the better gamblers here. With all my thoughts running through my mind, I just decided to create this topic to get your view on it.

Although some woman are strong but majority of the woman population have weak emotions and that is why I feel they will easily give up on gambling because they hate to continually loss and the second point is that since women have weak emotions, they can easily get addicted to gambling and can often practice revengeful gambling.

What is your view?

A woman can be weak just as it is something that describes her identity as weaker vessels but in most cases they might no be seen as that because they tend to look for better means to uncover that, and in the place of gambling alot of them have been so consistent in it as they usually do online staking and all that,so even if they record a huge amounts of losses as they do so, they'll keep a pause and think of ways on how to make it again,I'm saying this on behalf of the fact that I have a friend that's involved in it in such way,and when they do so they beat up their targets of winning in their next trial, that's why you don't see records of a female gambler but you will notice they gamble but on a responsible manner.
99  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Max Win is the worst thing that could happen to you. on: May 08, 2024, 01:20:45 PM

People run away from a casino that asked KYC right after registration. What they want is no KYC and only ask KYC if they have the amount too big the casino has to require.

I think the gamblers are okay just playing minimum balance as long as they will not submit KYC. But if they win big and there is a reason to submit, they wouldn't mind sending documents.

Very well, most gamblers frown at the fact that they will need to fill a KYC documents before payments whereas their mode of winning have not been ascertained but how could a Max win be the worst thing to any gambler.
Normally every gambler is happy when attaining such wins but where they get it all worked up is when they are asked to do KYC to guarantee their payments and all that and that's where it becomes a worse nightmare for some cause they think it's a long process for them to cash out their wins.
100  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you disguise on your real gambling lifestyle just to help a friend/relative? on: May 08, 2024, 01:08:50 PM

Does any of you guys have any negative side of gambling habit in you which literally you advices anyone not to exhibit it?
Or can you afford to hide your real disreputable gambling life just to help an astray gambling friend or relative?
It is totally normal to have times when you don't stick with your plan. We are humans and not some programmed robots. You should not feel bad about it. Tell your friends the reality of your struggles. We struggle with it too but it is the daily discipline and self control that sets us apart.

My own is that, sometimes I once a week or twice in a month, I bet more than more than I can afford to lose. On some days it favors me while on some weeks , the house wins.

We'll it's a necessity that you should be truthful in your dealings cause you may not know who's watching you from a distance, yes advising a friend not to gamble whereas you are and at same time hiding it is not a good idea but rather it's better of they are being told of that negative thing your into so as to know how to go about it,but you advising and still on it will give them doubt and no room of regarding you as anything cause they might be like your doing it too so why the advice,so literally you don't have to disguise yourself tell them how it is.
