81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Odd behavior with Gigabyte 7970 / cgminer on: February 02, 2014, 08:00:02 PM
Incase it isn't obvious from the picture... the GPU isn't reporting back TEMP or FAN RPMS.  It also isn't accepting any settings for engine or memory, all ranges are listed by cgminer as 0-0.

vga bios ver? conf file? model of the card?

It's a Gigabyte 7970 Windforce 3 running the stock BIOS, hasn't been flashed to a new one yet.

As far as config, I'm running it bare minimum until I figure out what's going on:

Code:
./cgminer --scrypt -I 13 -g 2

Also, I've tried a dummy plug and an actual monitor.  The card works (I can see the desktop) and isn't artifacting or anything like that.

Ok, so one of my Gigabyte 7950's died and it was RMA'd with a 7970.  When I try to run the 7970 this is what I see in cgminer (I unhooked the 7950's to help troubleshoot):

Has anyone experienced this and know how to fix it?  I've tried different versions of cgminer.

The drivers are good and the device is detected properly.  Here is the output from aticonfig:

Code:
root@bmoconno:/# aticonfig --list-adapters
* 0. 01:00.0 AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series

* - Default adapter
root@bmoconno:/#

and here is the output from cgminer with the -n flag:

Code:
root@bmoconno:/# cgminer -n

Quick question:  About how far into the video did you start wishing you'd used a tripod?  Grin

Is PeerDice broken?  It's showing 7 players and like 21 bets for BTC, but nothing is happening...

Last rolll I'm seeing on "Recent Rolls" was at 2014-02-01 21:20:56

Its hard to understand how Peerdice.org work.

Think "The Price is Right", the closest to the correct amount wins.

I got mine in the mail today!  Thanks Dob!

For those interested, the coins are a little smaller than an American/Canadian dime and are nice a polished (not rough as some of the other photos make them look).

I'll post pictures of my 10 when I get some decent light coming in the window.

Just wanted to update and say that my key worked perfectly, though the Laptop I was upgrading had Vista Basic... so I ended up having to do a fresh install. Sad

How much for a turn-key chassis (pre-drilled for stand-offs, PSU, GPUs, etc)? And how fast could you have one in the mail if I bought one like right now?

+1 since that's what we all really want to know anyways.  Grin

Can you do the 13 inch with the 256GB hard drive with the 10% discount? (same link, just press 13 inch and 256GB hard drive, I think the total is near $1235)
96  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Need ONE x16 to x16 Riser on: January 30, 2014, 02:51:50 AM
Wait, you're saying you can put an x1 riser into an x16 slot by just shorting the pins? I had no idea the x1 fit in the x16 slot..

You probably don't need to short any pins to use a 1x in a 16x slot.  I use 1x risers for all my cards because that was what was in stock when I ordered them.  Smiley

I just got back into town and had this waiting for me in my mailbox, thanks Bitpappa!

I put my keys on it, and I'll let you know how it holds up.  So far is seems pretty solid and very well made.

Thanks again!

P.S.  Sorry about the low quality and huge size of these pictures.  I don't have superb lighting in my office... mostly just Amazon boxes.  Wink

Thanks for the reply.  I'll take a closer look at your service when I've got some time, but like I said, it's almost too hard to say no to the basic plan.  Grin

Was wondering if you followed through with them? I'm looking for a host and their deal is almost too good to pass.

No, not yet.  I've been crazy busy at work and honestly forgot about it. Grin
99  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2000Th] Eligius: ASIC, no registration, no fee CPPSRB BTC + 105% PPS NMC, 877 # on: January 27, 2014, 10:30:34 PM
Ok, just to be clear.  The NMC address has to be a different address than the one I'm using for BTC right ?  I got my NMC address from the receive side of Electrum, signed it with the output string from Eligius and verified it with Electrum.  It passes on Electrum but not on Eligius.

My BTC address is 1Aynx4ZsKoGptWb2Z2aweCDJWduiGUj9DS
My NMC address is 1FGe2AqfRnj3c4JYjWL4etoVBtrXWFib4K

I get this message to sign with:

My Eligius - 2014-01-27 22:24:13 UTC - NMC_Address=1FGe2AqfRnj3c4JYjWL4etoVBtrXWFib4K
When I paste the reulting signature in the appropriate box on Eligius, it fails.  Every time.  However, it passes when I verify it with Electrum.

You need an NMC address, not another BTC address.  If you don't have the NMC client running, you can just use your receive address for NMC from BTC-e/Cryptsy/cex.io
