81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I was holding on to Ledger and I got robbed on: May 11, 2024, 12:43:23 PM
Did anyone know your PIN or your seed or the locations of where to find one or the other?
Who else has access to your computer you used to connect your Ledger wallet to?
Did you ever enter your seed somewhere online or store it in a digital medium?

The timeline of the transactions is unusual. Your dogecoin was transferred out on 4 Jan. Then, the thief took a break until the next morning when the Litecoin was moved. They then took another break of 6 hours before moving some more coins. It's very weird. Normally, a thief would look to take everything at once. But here, more than 24 hours passed between the first and last transaction that is visible on the screenshot.
82  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Koja kartica za bankomat? on: May 11, 2024, 12:18:29 PM

83  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What can we do to make Bitcoin hit $100k on: May 11, 2024, 07:31:20 AM
...
So we just have to keep growing the forum and as time goes on it will definitely increase.
The Bitcointalk forum has got nothing to do with it. In fact, we are seeing a drop in activity on Bitcointalk year after year while bitcoin's value is increasing. More people are leaving than coming. And many who come, ran across Bitcointalk by accident when they were looking for solutions to a Bitcoin-related problem. It's not entirely the forum's fault. The new generations aren't fans of the forum culture. They prefer other and faster ways of sharing information.
84  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Sportsbet.io - A Case of Selective Withdrawal Approval and Dubious Practices on: May 11, 2024, 07:20:33 AM
I stated earlier that the case should be marked as resolved since the player went to Steve.
Resolved or Unsolved? Only the player can inform the community about the nature of the case. All we can do is speculate. The player last posted on 6 May. They were online 2 days ago, but didn't post anything. Unless they break silence soon, it's pretty self-explanatory that this is finished.
85  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fake website on: May 11, 2024, 06:57:32 AM
Why would you be investing in a website at all? If you are buying Bitcoin, then that's your investment, not the site. If you are talking about some staking feature, those have a tendency to go bankrupt or run away with the invested money. You shouldn't do it. But if you understand the risks and don't care, well, don't cry when things go south.

Buying bitcoin isn't difficult.
Purchase it P2P or from a trusted CEX/DEX.
Move the coins to your wallet.
Hold it.
Sell it or spend it according to your own needs.

That's it. One does not need to be an expert or be "investing in a fake website."
86  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Sportsbet.io - A Case of Selective Withdrawal Approval and Dubious Practices on: May 11, 2024, 06:49:34 AM
I’m not looking to continue petty arguments but will reply to this. With this case I'm not sure how people can take Sportsbet's side if it's a jurisdiction infraction. If the OP is from the UK and deposits $50,000, makes one bet and wins $3000, can Sportsbet take $53,000. They should take the $3000 winnings and return the $50,000 deposit. I have no problems with these cases if winnings were voided and the balance returned.
But that's just the thing, we have no idea what happened. The OP didn't tell us. What we know from the posts they made is that they won some money and had their withdrawal request denied. From that point on, we are completely in the dark. I think the player was asked to conduct KYC, but they didn't want to. We know they spoke to Steve and acknowledged his efforts in trying to fix the situation, but that apparently didn't fix things in the player's favor.

We still don't know what the casino asks of the player and what it is that the player can't provide. It's got to be something related to identity verification and their place of residence, otherwise the player wouldn't have posted those reviews and warnings they copied from somewhere on the internet.

Don't you find it unusual that the player hasn't said what is wrong with their account and their withdrawal request? Besides thanking Steve, there are no further accusations or more information about the situation from the player's mouth. Maybe I am wrong, but to me, that sounds like the player has realized that they are in the wrong and this case is finished. If not, I'd love to hear what the player has to say and why they have been quiet ever since speaking to Steve.
87  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are the importance of this non_ custodial wallet? on: May 10, 2024, 06:16:17 PM
For privacy sake, non custodial wallet is the best because you will have control of your assets in them.
Being in control of your keys and coins is a security question, not a question of privacy. Non-custodial does not equal private. It can with the right wallet, but those two terms aren't synonyms. You can lose your privacy using non-custodial SPV wallets despite remaining in control of your keys.
88  Economy / Gambling / Re: Blackjack.fun |SLOTS|SPORTS|ESPORTS| JACK Token on: May 10, 2024, 06:09:54 PM
BTW, Blackjack.fun has developed their own tokens too! Perhaps, it will be the tradition of crypto casinos to build their own tokens in the near future.
That's right. The JACK token. You can win it by participating in tournaments on Blackjack.Fun. There is also a staking option available to token holders, and players can buy JACK on the website.

When we are on the subject of purchasing JACK on Blackjack.Fun, I noticed a small visual glitch on the site.
When you click on "Buy JACK", you see the following screen:

As you can see, the name of the crypto assets are out of order. As soon as you click anywhere inside the drop-down menu, it goes back to normal and looks like this:

I am sure your development team will take care of this.
89  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Becareful with telegram wallet! on: May 10, 2024, 03:59:11 PM
I didn't even know that Telegram offers a custodial wallet service. That's how much I care about things like that. Grin

There is absolutely no need to mix apples and oranges. If you want to use Telegram as a chat service, fine, do that. Don't also make it your wallet of choice because it's convenient. If my fridge added a crypto wallet next week, I am not going to use it just because it holds my meat and beer.

Stick to proven brands that are working and have been around a long time. Stay away from the new and flashy things until they have established a proven track record. And lastly, stay away from custodial services for storing your coins no matter who provides them.
90  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What can we do to make Bitcoin hit $100k on: May 10, 2024, 03:50:22 PM
You can orange-pill the people around you and give them a reason to use bitcoin. But to reach a valuation like $100k, we need many more investors and appreciation by nation-states and investment giants. It will take some time, but we will get there. The better question is, how much purchasing power will that $100,000 provide you? With the way the money printer is running it's looking worse and worse.
91  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are the importance of this non_ custodial wallet? on: May 10, 2024, 03:38:03 PM
Noncustodial wallets are the best wallets for storing your bitcoin, because no one can identify the owner of such wallets.
You are right to some degree. But one can still determine who uses a bitcoin address (of a non-custodial wallet) to a high certainty based on their spending habits. If that address keeps depositing and withdrawing to and from a centralized exchange where you have undergone KYC, chances are high it's the same person. Also, if you posted that address anywhere online where it can be connected with you real identity, it's the same thing.

The idea of writing your seed phrase on a sheet of paper or your device, or even trying to memorize it, is strongly discouraged, as this type of wallet comes with a lot of responsibility, but it's also the right choice.
The bolded part is not discouraged. It's the way it should be. Your keys should be stored offline on paper or metal. That's the only right choice. The rest is wrong and decreases the security of your keys and coins.

Using a non custodial wallet you have a total freedom to your assets and you are in control of your privacy.
You maintain your privacy by using privacy-enhancing tools. For instance, using TOR and connecting to your own node. Electrum is a non-custodial wallet, but it's not a privacy-focused wallet. The moment you connect to someone else's server, they will find out plenty of information about your bitcoin wallet.
92  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Sportsbet.io - A Case of Selective Withdrawal Approval and Dubious Practices on: May 10, 2024, 03:17:42 PM
With Pmalek he posted Sportsbet is his favorite book although he's not part of Sportsbet.
I have had nothing but positive experiences betting on sports on Sportsbet, and when someone asks what casinos to try, I have no doubts when I recommend Sportsbet to them. If that means it's my favorite book, then I guess it is. But if you think for one second that I would defend them if I see them scamming, then that's your problem.

You are the one coming to conclusions here about what happened, when not even the OP told the whole story.
Stick to the topic of discussion without bringing Betcoin and Nitro Betting into the equation and how they do things.

This will be the last post that is not related to this scam accusation that I will reply to you.
93  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can a newbie make investment before learning? on: May 09, 2024, 04:14:08 PM
First of all, you should know what you are investing in before putting your money into it. If you don't know anything about Bitcoin, its history, or even the volatility, you will probably be heading towards many surprises in the future. Sure, you can just speculate, and many people do it. But at that time it's more of a gamble. Serious people with serious investments carry out research before they let go of their money.
94  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: credits cards with btc on: May 09, 2024, 04:05:29 PM
Dont know how that works in other countries , but if the transaction was made and the Bitcoin bought there should be no way that you get something back.
But if that is really the case here then yeah i am with you that this bites him really hard.
I don't know how Binance does it when you use credit cards on their platform, but I remember reading that Coinbase is pretty strict and freezes your coins for several days, preventing you from withdrawing them until the money clears and they have possession of it. I don't think Binance is gullible to be easily tricked with a scheme like this either. You can still request chargebacks from your bank for months after a transaction is made, but I don't know what the chances are they will fulfill your wish.
95  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies how to use the 2FA security system in the account? on: May 09, 2024, 03:58:41 PM
@AirtelBuzz
A minor correction that you can change in your OP if you like. You wrote that after clicking on "Account Related Settings", you will see your username and the gmail account connected to your Bitcointalk account. Gmail is only one out of many e-mail providers. You can use any e-mail service you want. Perhaps change "gmail" to "e-mail."

After clicking on account related settings, you will see a page like this. There you can see your account username and the Gmail used in your account which you provided while opening the account.
96  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: credits cards with btc on: May 09, 2024, 03:47:11 PM
What do you mean with "deliver credit accounts with BTC?" Why am I getting a bad feeling that you are trying to cheat with a chargeback scam? Buy bitcoin with a credit card payment, withdraw it, and then ask the bank for a chargeback saying you didn't make the transaction. If that's what you are trying to do, I hope it bites you in the ass.
97  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies...don't feel attacked by high rank members on: May 09, 2024, 03:37:07 PM
I've been a lurker for a year here, I know I'm just talking about the things I'm interested in and I sound like a broken record when opening topics and asking questions yet I haven't seen those attacks, isn't anyone getting way to sensitive about a discussion with pure strangers using a foreign language you're not completely accustomed to?
I don't see the attacks either. But I remember a topic in Meta a few months ago from a member who felt he was being bullied. Turns out that he considers it bullying if other members correct him and don't agree with what he says. The world has become too sensitive, and everyone is crying abuse, abuse to try and benefit somehow. Even after so many years here, I still make mistakes and have no problems when someone corrects me and points them out. It means they are paying attention.

<Snip>
This entire wall of text is completely off-topic and unrelated to this case, and I don't care about it. You reminded me of that other person (your alt account) based on your praises for particular casinos and your username, and I was right. You are the same person. It's completely irrelevant to this scam accusation what any of the casinos/sportsbooks you like to highlight and shill are doing or what they did in the past. Focus at the subject in hand if you want to be taken seriously and stay off the shill pills.
99  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 💥✅Stake.com Urgent Message Regarding Stake.com Forum Members on: May 08, 2024, 06:12:45 PM
As for gambling addiction, though I am [luckily] not one of them myself, so I can't know precisely how they are, I'll argue that it is not that simple. It's a serious thing that there are organizational bodies that tries to help and facilitate "detoxification". Some people probably can get over those situation themselves as they have strong will, but some needs third parties intervention to get over the situation, so I think saying it's as simple as having a mental decision to stop has a tendency of oversimplicating the issue.
I am not making fun of gambling addicts. I am not trying to be mean towards them. Saying it's a mental weakness isn't unfair or hurtful. That's the reality of the situation.
Let me give you another example. If you are a full-grown man who can't lift something that is 10 or 15kg from the floor, then you are physically weak. I have never met a heathy man in my life that can't do that. To me that's a physical weakness. A weakness that is curable with training.
100  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Sportsbet.io - A Case of Selective Withdrawal Approval and Dubious Practices on: May 08, 2024, 06:06:09 PM
Agree that I don’t know what happened other than intent. If the OP played from a banned jurisdiction at Betcoin and some others, then Betcoin would return his money.
I am sorry, but I can't take you seriously, and I don't trust your neutrality. You seem to be motivated by other factors. Shilling Betcoin while pulling down other bookies you don't like. You remind me of another account (which might actually be your alt account based on the username) that praises Nitrogen Sports on every occasion.

Sportsbet can’t keep stealing money. Yesterday Sportsbet stole $500 from an another player claiming attempted double spend using a rule stating “ in our sole discretion”.

It was the same as the last one. At first they accused the player of multi-accounting and the changed to double spend using this rule.

7.6 If we determine, in our sole discretion, that you are using the "Double Spend" methodology, the Website shall void all bets and winnings. Specifically, if you win, then confirm your deposit on the Blockchain and attempt to withdraw, all winnings will be confiscated and your account will be closed permanently. We shall also exercise this right where similar activities are attempted from any connected accounts.
I am not aware of the case and can't comment on your judgement. Regarding double-spending. Sportsbet.io has instant deposits. That means, you can play with your bitcoin even before the transaction confirms on-chain. However, you won't be allowed to withdraw your funds before the deposit transaction has been confirmed on the blockchain. If you attempt to manipulate this feature by double-spending, while at the same time requesting a withdrawal, then I completely agree with the casino for confiscating the player's balance and banning him. If that's what happened. It's manipulation and cheating and deserves to be punished.

One does not mistakenly double-spend a bitcoin transaction. But if the player did so to bump the fees to get a quicker confirmation, it's a completely different matter, as long as the bumped transaction didn't go to another address not under the casino's control.
