yup, everyone head over to: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=68196
and give him a poor trust rating, it'll look like this: http://imgur.com/q58JdcB

There is word here that a group buyer purchased Avalons from a "Third Party" for a "higher price"

This could be where your chips went..

it'll look like this: http://imgur.com/q58JdcB

Retard Inaba (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=8198) on the other hand has no negative feedback...so strange.

He doesn't do business with that account, just trolls
They scam via website hits from paid advertising, not via forum communication
83  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASIC Chips (SebastianJu) Batch 6 ordered (Closed) on: August 26, 2013, 11:21:33 AM
so what are we doing about the fact - that at their current delivery pace - not even our first batch will be shipped for at least 2 months - and no compensation has been offered ?

If you put our numbers into here http://www.coinish.com/calc it does come out as favorable, suggesting that these boards will provide ROI and go on to make some profit. Nothing is sure though in Bitcoin land, especially difficulty, so its hard to tell. Like with most things bitcoin, its a gamble, and it may well pay off, and i guess even if it doesn't, it won't be far off and we've all had some fun while doing it. I'd say yes, we are hobbyists. But we might also make a decent return here. I hope so. Personally i do this stuff because i enjoy it. I've actually got my old GPU miner still chugging away in the corner giving me 3 GH/s, even though its probably costing me more for power than it makes. Go figure. These boards are different though because their power draw is much much less, so than can chug away for the next 5 years without making much of an imprint. And hey BTC might go up hugely. Who knows. But yes, none of us are going to become overnight millionaires here, but we might make a bit of money, and certainly get to enjoy being a part of something big,  new and exciting. At least, that's how i feel about Bitcoin. Hope you guys agree.  Grin

Well said

They spent 200 bitcoins, now worth over 22000 dollars. They should have kept their bitcoins. They lost. Big!

In my country we have a proverb for this kind of BS retro/futur predication  :

"If my aunt had balls this would be my uncle"

I have another one for you : Why haven't you buy some APPLE shares when they were cheap ? You'd be a millionaire !!! Why ? whhhhyyyyyyyy Huh!!!!   Grin

Please.

I'm talking about the ROI for early buyers.
Not some "If" talk.

Agreed, when you spent your coin you based your purchase on their current fiat market value.
You could've easily spent those coins on something else of equal fiat value (like slippers) - doesn't mean you bought slippers for thousands of dollars... market was different back then, just as $10 used to fill the fuel tank of your car a few years ago... so seriously... this tired old comparison is irrelevant - sick of reading it.
The market value at the time of purchase is what was spent. As is the case with any currency or asset.

I do, however feel that even early adopters lost out on BFL... sure - they did earn some money, but what a fuck around they went through - strung along all that time - the ones who did truly well were those who received their unit, mined with it for awhile then ebay'd it and washed their hands of BFL and learnt from it.
88  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] - GROUP BUY of BITFURY Chips + DRILLBIT SYSTEM mining assembly on: August 22, 2013, 05:09:31 AM
What's the thought or plans for the future given you've clearly put a good amount of effort into making the boards stackable with various backplanes?

Is it only 'we did this to enable people to purchase multiple boards on this order', or perhaps 'we plan to offer opportunities to purchase more compatible boards throughout the year that have BitFury chips', or 'we see opportunities to keep providing compatible boards even if we have to switch chip sources', or (ominous music) 'we did this to get someone else to fund our own super-massive scalable mining rig, MWahaha!' :-)

Seriously, I can only put in for one board now (and have done so).  But all the people commenting that they've placed multiple orders made me think: Should I be totally discounting the stackable nature because it will be useless for anything in the future?  And, should I sell body parts to go for a second or more board now because I won't be able to get one later?

I think you're stressing too much. Even if you miss out - like what you're saying (which I doubt you will), is it such a huge deal to use a USB hub?
89  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] - GROUP BUY of BITFURY Chips + DRILLBIT SYSTEM mining assembly on: August 22, 2013, 03:26:03 AM
I am assuming that with all these orders this buy is still open?

Yes, check the OP, there is a "chips remaining" counter.
Still 800+ left at the time of this post
90  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013 on: August 21, 2013, 02:42:47 AM
The only thing that makes any sense at all:
Delivery of all batches (Zefir and Sebastian) within the next two weeks, latest. Otherwise complete refund. Anything else is crap.

agreed refund is better.

Careful what you wish for.  If you think he is slow at shipping chips, he is even slower at refunding.  So far to date, only 1 (as in a singleton) batch 3 avalon order refund has been issues.  I have no idea what could be the issue with refunding... other than the desire to not issue them and hold onto the BTC.

It's a pretty good sign that the coin has moved out of the company and into employee's wallets.

From http://www.avalon-asics.com

story so far - 8/19

chips have arrived via other routes as previously announced, we are shipping them out at the rate of 40-50k on a daily basis at the moment, in addition to the ~150k or so that went out, another 40k was shipped today. There is multiple channel which the chips are arriving from various packaging facility to minimize downtime. Please bare this in mind: while we had backup/multiple packaging companies and various delivery routes, things still will go wrong. There is also testing that must be done, then they can split, packed and sent to the EZP coupled with their CN-22 and be on their way. We will provide more update as they come. In addition, the trade-in and refunds are being processed.

If this is true, many folks on this forum should start receiving chips in the next week or two.

Then where are the tracking numbers?
Or are these 40k chips per day the same as the 400 units per day that BFL ship?
Guess we will find out in a day or so...

Thanks for reposting

that drillbit pci-e card looks awesome, hope to see it can be use for better ghash chip in the future, then i might go for this
Is it a PCI-e connector? Will I be able to plug one of these boards straight into my motherboard slots - that would be awesome.

Being a USB device, you could jimmy up a cable to plug it directly into the motherboard rather than via the case. that would allow you to entirely contain a board within your PC
Which, is something i'm considering myself, for the novelty awesomeness factor.

Update?

Blades should've shipped by now but I haven't heard from you.

Yifu I know you are very busy but any update on the status of the refunds requested over 1 month ago would be most appreciated. Thanks

Avalon honours refunds  Huh
I thought you just have to wait for the chips when they are ready to ship...

In a week or two, it won't even be "break even" time, when you consider assembly, etc. Avalon had better address this. And BFL is close to being in the same boat.
Makes me wonder about the prices rising on GOX. An investment? A connection? They just got bought more time...

I think it's obvious, BFL recently announced their "omg uber super doopa machiiiine" only payable in BTC.
So a whole new breed of fools are buying up thousands of dollars worth of bitcoin in hope that if they buy first, they'll be the lucky ones who actually see product (and to hell with everyone else who gets raped).

Hey, what does it mean if someone's "ignore" word is backgrounded in yellow?

Serious question; I am not wise in the ways of bitcointalk software.

The darker it is the more users that have that person on ignore.  I guess it's designed as a sort of "troll meter"?
I think there's a basic problem with "ignore," particularly if used on a genuine troll, as opposed to someone who holds views that are consistently opposed to one's own.

It's kind of the opposite of an xml parser which didn't have a 'deep' option in its cloneNode:  here, you still get the troll's posts in the quoted replies.  A well written state machine could, in principle, "ignore" the responses to ignored posts as well.

And there's the problem:  sometimes, responses to trolls are more insightful than "Oh, yeah?  Well, feck you," and somebody might want to read them.  IMO, it's better just to let 'er buck.
How dark is my ignore button right now?

they will package the impossible into a PCI/e GPU styled and sized device.

yeah, i noticed the pic of a gpu-like looking card.  what is that all about?

I first saw the pic in a hate thread and LOL'd as I thought it was a joke picture.
I ROFLMAO when I found out the device really has been announced and it's their official image, I mean shit, they aren't even trying anymore. They just slapped their logo onto a photo of a GPU and promised an insane $/GH ratio, knowing people will go for it out of sheer desperation
98  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Mitten Mining - K1: 0.3 BTC K16: 0.75 BTC K64: 3 BTC Assembly Services on: August 18, 2013, 11:55:44 PM
It is a shame about the K1s

since they were meant to fill the need of cheap usb miners that actually have a promising roi.
But that ship sailed.. now they cost as much as an asicminer and are less powerful.

I'm glad I only ordered 1, which I did out of pure interest, something about these DIY projects put my brain into pokemon mode, I have to have at least 1 of every miner Tongue

Anyway, here's hoping yifu doesn't disappear again, before shipping the rest of the batches.

The shinier the website, the more likely you're being fucked.

Good job and tahnks for the update.  This was out of your control and an extra two days will not matter much.
Uh it is when you're waiting on 20 GH/S+ of miners.

Shit happens though, A+ communication.

Or when you paid the .45 price and are now being shipped same time as the .32 price round...

+1 on the communication though. bad news is better than silence *cough*avalon*cough*
