81  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / The dust has settled...how did you fare? on: September 15, 2017, 11:17:50 PM
Jesus, man.  What a time to literally just enter the market.

After setting up my platforms and dipping my toes in the water with a few small buys, I sat the last 48 hours, with my finger on the buy button for 1/3 of a BTC.  I watched as it dipped, and dipped.  I was a half a second away from clicking "buy" as prices dipped to $2,950, and I didn't do it.

...then I watched it rise to $3,700 in mere minutes.

First rookie mistake, I suppose.

I live in China, and will see how this day plays out.  Hoping for a dip around $3,200 today as China does its thing.  Knowing enough about this whole deal, I know I shouldn't wait too much longer.

What I saw last night blew my mind.  So much panic.  So much misinformation.  So many "IT CAN'T DO THIS.  IMPOSSIBLE." followed by it doing exactly that thing.

Hell of a ride last night.

Cheers to you all.

It's up to you to watch, and decide over the next few days.

In my short time here, I've noticed half the people here are totally full of ****.

"It's impossible for it to go below $3,000!  It won't." was a line I just read.

...but it just did.

Make your own call with what you're comfortable with, and stick to it.

83  Economy / Speculation / Re: Calling the bottom here. Currently at $3344 on: September 15, 2017, 07:59:23 AM
$3,040 and dropping fast.

2nd Chinese exchange calling for shutter by 9/30.

Having literally JUST entered the market, and set up all my tools to buy, I am quite happy.

Living in China currently as well, $1 noodle bowls on me if I can buy below $2,000!

Here's hoping to an even more epic drop in the next 72 hours.   Grin

Sincerely,

- Stoked Newbie!

Thanks, all.

I can hold.  I currently own nearly a dozen NEO, and will hold indefinitely.

Have a bit of ETH I'm thinking about putting into an ICO.

Will consider the jump into more BTC.  Let's see how the day / weekend plays out.

Cheers.

Hey all. New to the game. Just got in. Bought a few hundred worth a couple days ago, to put on the exchanges and dip my toes in the water at $4,300.

With this recent crash, I've been thinking about investing $1,000 or so later tonight.  Not only will this lower my loss to the initial purchase, it seems like a good idea.

What should I be eyeing here? Should I put it all into BTC?

Buy a few Ethereum?

Grip some alt-coins like Monero?

A question I can't seem to wrap my head around, is if Ethereum will always be "tied" to Bitcoin's price. Are they tethered so when BTC goes down, so does ETH?
  Will it ever separate?

Would love your thoughts.

Not too worried about the $1,000 as if a VERY hard dip comes, I can always buy in more. I'm gonna HODL.

Best,

J

Just buy all BTC because all alts, including Ethereum base their value off of BTC's, but they are not tied they are separate currencies with two completely different networks. So, keep in mind they have different use cases as well so BTC is more of a long term investment but it pays huge. Alts are short term and difficult to judge as a competitor may come out with a similar coin.

I'm still a bit confused about ETH.  Isn't it the plan to branch away from being so tied into BTC's pricing?

Are all coins forever tied to BTC's price?

Still need to read up.

I think I'm going to see how September plays out before I throw in a grand.

Cheers, all.

Websites crashed.  Surely this isn't an ICO that sells out in day one (even though you all said it would)... why the crash?

I think I'm going to pass on this one.  Roll Eyes

Please make the bank wire transfer information very clear so I can transfer $350 today after work. I'm trying to understand how it will work regarding bank wire transfer. Will I be able to go directly to the bank after work today with my phone and tablet, login in to my electroneum account and show the correct information to the bank teller or fill whatever form out they give me? How will you identify that the transfer came from me and credit it to my account? Is there some identifying information in the transfer itself? Is there some number that belongs to the transfer that I will put into my ICO manager? I haven't done a wire transfer since the early 2000's so I forget how to do one.

Wait... China has banned ICO's so you should state on first page of this thread that you do not accept buy in from anyone in China.
And if there is any other country you will not accept investments from you should state this on the first page of this thread and also on the website immediately.
I'm in the US. I'm I allowed to participate?

Send Bitcoin or Ether

There is a guide on how to buy Bitcoin on electroneum.com.

Send with Bitcoin if you are in the US.

Send with Bitcoin because then no one will know where you live

Ether would quote where you live?  Huh.

So would ETH transfer to this ICO from the U.S. be forbidden?  Why can't anyone answer this clearly?

Why is there nothing on the official Reddit, unless I'm missing something?

Also, there are misspellings in the "Agreement" section of the website.

Hmmm...

New to the game, but I'm sure this thread has been made 900,000 times.  Just hold.

$3,900 and dropping, though.  Undecided
