No, I don't think they help investors pick the best ICO's. Most of them give favourable reviews if you give them enough money. I don't pay them any attention at all when evaluating which ICO's to invest in. I don't think the IEO sites are anymore reliable since they make money if the IEO is successful. If you want to know if a new project is worth investing in you have to do your own research and due diligence.

I think the mistake you are making is thinking that one cryptocurrency is capable of dominating the entire market. Right now Tron has proved to be very good at powering gaming Dapps which require lots of fast cheap transactions. Ethereum is neither cheap or fast. It is however much better for raising money, something that does not necessarily require speed or low cost.

I don't think they faked the hack. In my experience the only time an exchange would fake a hack is an exit scam where they run off with all the money and let investors take the hit. In the case of Binance, the hack was relatively small and Binance covered all the losses in an effort to make it go away. I am sure they have had people stop storing their money on the exchange and the hack has damaged their air of invulnerability. They would not do that to themselves and I have not seen any explanation of why hacking themselves would serve their interests.

You could try Coinbase if you live in certain countries they will let you use a debit card to fund your account. That is probably your best place to start. I would first check with exchanges that operate in your country as they are the most likely to support payments by your debit card. Unlike credit cards, debit cards often have restrictions about using them outside your home country.

I would add Steem to that list. For me the most valuable cryptocurrencies are those that people use to do things. Steem is one of the most widely used blockchains with the Steemit blogging platform being the most popular use case. But they are also used to run other popular platforms like Dtube (a blockchain version of Youtube), Magic Dice  (Gambling) and DrugWars (Game).

Your strategy should be increasing your holdings in your preferred coins and get ready for another bull run when coin prices will hit crazy unsupportable levels. This is a regular occurance in cryptocurrency and if you play it right you can become very wealthy. You just need to have the discipline to sell when everyone else is screaming buy. HODLING in all segments of the cycle is the game that fools play. Be smarter, be a contrarian.

I have always concentrated first on the quality of the project. There is no point participating in a bounty that never reaches its soft cap because the idea is stupid or the team behind the project are incapable of bringing their idea into reality. I then judge whether it is worth participating from how much I might earn. I look for projects were the number of participants is low in relation to the reward. I avoid bounties with no end date or with specific number of tokens per task (ie 10 tokens per tweet or week). I look for stake based bounties that do not cap earnings.

Tokens should be assessed on a case by case basis. If your original investment thesis still holds true and the team is executing their business plan in a timely fashion then I would continue to hold the tokens. If however your reason for investing no longer holds true or if the people behind the project are failing to meet expectations than you should consider liquidating your position.

If you believe in the project and the team behind it you should ignore the short term price changes. When you buy coins in an ICO you are investing in a startup. You really have to give a startup 2 to 5 years before they start to become a real business. In the short term pay attention to the plan laid out in whitepaper and if the team is executing the plan as they said then give them your patience.

If I was in New York I would definitely be going to Consensus 2019 which is happening right now. But since I am in South East Asia the biggest event I plan on attending this year is the World Blockchain Forum that takes place in Singapore  June 22–23. If you are in Europe you should go to the Blockchain Summit London which is June 25 - 26.

You would need more than code to establish a relationship between the price of a token and a fiat currency. You would have to create a mechanism for users to convert their tokens into fiat currency. You would then also have to have enough of that fiat currency to payout if everyone decided to redeem. Generally when ever you set up a peg like this you end up with a stable coin that does not rise in value.
