I really like this initiative, I will definitely join next time. (This friday I already have a Bitcoin trade appointment far away from Amsterdam, so I can't go)

See you next time. Let us all know about the meeting, later in this thread. Smiley

My most favourite way is to ask online stores to accept Bitcoins. We need much more stores to accept Bitcoins, and everytime when a store chooses to do so, a lot of customers will be seeing this and it will become more mainstream. Apart from that, the competitors of the store that accepts Bitcoins, will also have an incentive to do the same...

One other suggestion to promote Bitcoin:

- how about a Bitcoin bumper sticker ?     Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Because nobody else posts any suggestions, here is another one from me:

- organize local Bitcoin meetings

Let's come up with some ideas for people who want to actively promote the rise of Bitcoin:

- ask online stores where you have ordered before to accept Bitcoins
- ask brick and mortar stores to accept Bitcoins, possibly assist / help / point them in the right direction
- educate friends and family members about using Bitcoin
- facilitate in small and local cash for Bitcoins and Bitcoins for cash transactions (there are websites that bring buyers and sellers together)
- become an active member of Bitcoin forums
- become an active participant of Bitcoin chatrooms
- create your own Bitcoin related blog / website
- ask your employer about implementing Bitcoin (if applicable)

Looking for more and creative suggestions  Smiley
88  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Problems with bitcoin-24.com WARNING! UPDATE! on: May 13, 2013, 10:57:54 AM
Successfully transferred very small amount of Bitcoin that I had outstanding at Bitcoin-24.com

Only waiting for around 150 Euro, that I transferred to the polish bank account just days before

Not so much to be worried about... .. .

I wish other people in a more serious situation all the best.

Lessons learned for me is:
- don't leave more BTC in online wallets than really necessary
- if I have to do transfers through the banking system in order to buy BTC, I send it in parts, and let each part not be more than I am "willing" to loose for some time / permanently

For me, this is just a unfortunate event, but not an event that makes me steer away from Bitcoin, it has nothing to do with Bitcoin itself. An event like this, even makes me feel stronger about it.

The rise of Bitcoin can't be stopped, it can only be delayed for a while by governments and bankers. Bitcoin is on a collision course with governments & bankers.
