81  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: August 25, 2013, 11:15:22 PM
It seems to me that this pricing structure will only prevent the price from going up (it has already gone way down from the 0.23 BTC we had yesterday).
It just looks like somebody was looking to pump and dump from the beginning...

NRB seems to be off Cryptsy again! Anyone know why?
Let's hope it's a temporary bug...

EDIT : It is back up. Seems it was only a bug.

At last, the NRB price seems to stabilize!
The gap between buy and sell orders was just astounding in the last few days...
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Noirbits TAKEOVER ! MANDATORY UPDATE v2.2.3.0 with Windows binaries on: August 16, 2013, 06:03:16 PM
Tweeted to BigVern, he's verifying the new code so we can go back on Cryptsy!

EDIT: Looks like we're posting horribly low offers for NRB, so I double jasinlee's offer (0.00001 BTC/NRB)!!
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Noirbits TAKEOVER ! MANDATORY UPDATE v2.2.3.0 on: August 14, 2013, 04:14:48 PM
Now that most of our problems seem to be behind us, we should try to get back on Cryptsy in the next few days!
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Noirbits TAKEOVER ! MANDATORY UPDATE v2.2.1.0 on: August 11, 2013, 09:08:45 PM
The block explorer just went offline. Let's hope it's upgrading to the latest version!
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Noirbits TAKEOVER ! Pools available ! v2.1.1.0 available with UPNP on: August 11, 2013, 12:18:04 AM
Well coinmine's following on this, but it seems his pool forked again, I definitely need to figure out why. I have not yet contacted minefast's owner, need to do so. There may be a multipool mining Noirbits, but if there is, I haven't found which one (maybe Middlecoin, otherwise it's a big farm, but whoever it is is not going public on their mining).

The multipool mining Noirbits (and causing the horrendous hash/diff spikes we have seen) is the following : http://mnrb.coinmine.pl/.

EDIT: I think they turned off the auto-switch feature though (if I understand this post correctly : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=259623.0).

As for Cryptsy, I've contacted them exposing the situation in all honesty, I'm waiting on their feedback as to what they'll be doing regarding Noirbits (whether it be dropping Noirbits, following up on the takeover, or staying on the old client). So we'll see what happens next with them.

Well, if they understand that the old client is likely to become unsupported in the nearby future, I don't see why they wouldn't transition.. They only need to wait for the forks issue to be resolved before they do anything.

Cool! Keep up the good work!

Did anybody contact the Block Explorer guy and the other pools about the forks + client updates?
The Block Explorer seems stuck at last checkpoint.

Also, it's nice that we've gone off Cryptsy for the time being!
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Noirbits Update required Improved algos !!!! on: August 09, 2013, 04:58:27 AM
I'm not quite sure I understand the problem, but let me suggest some stuff for the variation problem. I'm not a statistician, but it seems like 2 standard deviations from the mean is a good trigger. How about you take the last 30 samples, compute the mean and standard deviation. If the new sample is more than 2 standard deviations from the mean, then force a retarget. In a random process (as I remember it), >95% of samples should be within 2 standard deviations of the mean. That means that less than 5% of retargets would be from a random event, and 95% of the would be triggered by changes in hashing power.

^This!
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Noirbits TAKEOVER ! Switch to this client for real support... on: August 09, 2013, 12:01:54 AM
Sorry folks, you need to update again... Sad Github and links updated.

I can't sync up the new UPNP wallet, even with the node you told me to add earlier...
Also, the UPNP option is still greyed out.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Noirbits TAKEOVER ! Switch to this client for real support... on: August 08, 2013, 08:46:43 PM
You can add this to your configuration file :

addnode=54.213.23.213

All clear!
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Noirbits TAKEOVER ! Switch to this client for real support... on: August 08, 2013, 08:35:44 PM
The new wallet doesn't want to sync up. Could the lack of UPNP be in cause? I never had a problem with any of the older clients.

EDIT: I think your move was justified by the emergency situation (Might be unrelated, but the coin just took a hard crash on cryptsy...). Hopefully barwizi just join in on this!

Well, finally ! Noirdice is up & running, running bets on 0 confirmations, so you get instant results Smiley

Nice job! We're gonna need a higher "max bet" cap, but I'm guessing it is only this low for beta purposes.  Tongue
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Noirbits Update required Improved algos !!!! on: August 04, 2013, 04:37:41 AM
I've got a question about the upcoming update. Will we fork to the new version soon after the release of the updated client or will we wait another week before doing so?

Also, any news about NoirDice or Noirbank?  Smiley

Algo update incoming, give me two days. I am thinking that a per block re-target is best instant high and instant low, and in the event of 20min no block solved, it drops to previous diff. it forces you to either stay or leave. The multi mine pools will leave us alone after they notice this.

Hurray!  Grin

The multimine pool has kinda been killing the coin recently...

It's been an hour and my transaction still has 0 confirmation...  Undecided

I can set up getwork port as well but really want to migrate everyone...

Yeah, if you set up getwork I'll migrate.

http://mnrb.coinmine.pl
New stratum port: 9197

Is it stratum only? Because it is a bitch to configure with CudaMiner...
Also, I'm really not interested in multimining, so I would rather stay with the old pool..
