81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IOSToken - already higher volume then Ethereum on: January 26, 2018, 01:01:01 AM
It`s some kind impressive for a new token (volume increased last week until almost 800 million), but in the end we`re comparing apples with pears here - overall, ETH`s volume is $4 billion compared with $600 million. For me more interesting is to discuss about their ICO, I see there was only a private token sale and a very restrictive one since it was "institution-only".
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the most possible Ethereum competitor? on: January 26, 2018, 12:15:23 AM
In the nearest future NEO might become a redoubtable competitor of ETH because of the zero transfer fees and also the large community. But in the long run I think IOTA will surpass NEO and might come close to Ethereum (check more info about tangle and sharding). Also Waves can make a good run in the next couple of years.
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The END is NEAR! on: January 24, 2018, 03:00:11 PM
Yeah, Amazon supporting crypto would definitely bring awareness to masses, but I think it won`t happen this February, they will wait for crypto to be regulated. Also, right now Bitcoin isn`t suitable for payments, unless Lightning happens in February (no chance until next year). Catchy title for this thread, almost like click biting online news  Cheesy
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitconnect performed exit scam with $2.5 bln and investors are suicidal on: January 22, 2018, 10:01:01 PM
Lately I`m seeing many people jubilating about the crash of Bitconnect, but we should be aware about the fact that kind of projects gives crypto a bad name and in the long run it can affect us all... also, it scares me a little when I realize how how many people invested in this kind of project, even if so many reputable people gave clear warnings.
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin is best for small payments? on: January 21, 2018, 03:46:21 PM
Any altcoin that does not have that much volume in transaction will do. Ethereum used to be so fast with very little gwei for gas but since its transaction bulked, the confirmation time and fee goes up as well.

For now, I want to use NEM for transactions because it is still very low in tx fee but not much accepts NEM right now.
After the Ethereum was clogged first by those Kryptokitties I was forced to try other coins for fast and cheap transfers. So I used NEO, it is fast and there is no fee for transactions. Nowadays I`m using Ethereum again, I assume they managed to get more miners into it since the transfers fees are back to couple of cents if you`re willing to wait a few minutes.
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is the Best Exchange that has most Alt coins with good fees? on: January 21, 2018, 03:35:53 PM
I recommend Binance, but in my opinion there is no such a thing like the best exchange since all the exchanges that meets your criteria are centralised. We probably all should take a look at the new decentralised exchanges that are about to be launched.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: eth going strong on: January 21, 2018, 03:25:01 PM
Eth is soon going to take over btc. I think ETH is got more practical use than btc
No way or at least 5-10 years. To claim the present position Bitcoin has been through a lots of hatred and hates. Things are not going that easy for ETH the same.
Being an Ethereum fan myself, I still think you`re overoptimistic when you claim that ETH is soon going to take over BTC. Maybe over the years, but so far Bitcoin is a brand, you can`t compete with that in the superficial world we live. Wait until more normies will enter into the crypto world, then wait for them to educate and so on... but until then there is a chance that something better then ETH will appear, this is a very dynamic domain  Wink
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Ethereum? on: January 21, 2018, 03:10:34 PM
Like it or not it has become the reserve currency for icos and is slowly displacing btc on exchanges as a trading pair. Moreover, it has the history and brand recognition, a star developer and its platform is used for lts of apps. It’s not perfect, it has bugs. I am actually not a big fan and think there are many up and coming alternatives but we’re obviously not there yet.

So, basically, she's the most popular girl in school ... got it ...

Pretty much. But looks don’t last forever.  Crypto evolves so fast, so there is much better tech out there and competition and trying to dethrone ethereum is a great incentive to innovate. Unfortunately the newcomer has to make itself known and prove itself so it can displace queen bee. It will happen but probably not in short term.

You`re right, crypto evolves so fast and Ethereum must keep up the pass otherwise NEO can claim his throne Smiley So far it does a pretty good job and probably Casper will consolidate its position and will go ETH around $2,000. By the way, the Ethereum network ins`t congested anymore, the last couple of days all my TX`s went through really fast using even 0.3 gwei - I thought these days were history  Grin
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: GREAT CRYPTO DEPRESSION on: January 21, 2018, 02:55:45 PM
DID EVERYONE SURVIVE THE GREAT CRYPTO DEPRESSION OF JAN 2018???
yes I've survived the apocalypse Wink
I don`t think a 30% price fall should be called depression, this rather was market correction. Remember, the same thing happened in mid January last year and also in 2016 (even worse, about 40%). Also, Bitcoin felled once from $1200 to $200, that is depression! As always, some people panic sell and other filled their bags - if you buy just because of FOMO and then sell because of FUDD, you`re not made for this. Anything can happen, but if you ask me 2018 might be the best year for crypto.
90  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Is Ledger Nano S REALLY SAFE ?? Best Hardware Wallet ? on: January 20, 2018, 06:27:20 PM
Yes, very interested in nano s, waiting for reviews from users. Also, have anyone already bought a ledger blue??
I`m regularly using Ledger Nano S and I recommend it. If you have a few hundred dollars worth of coins/tokens, than it definitely worth spending $100 for one. I bought it from the producer, but you can buy it from the reseller as long you initialize the device. NEVER use a Ledger already initialized because you`ll loose your funds!

...What if the manufacturer only provides a certain range of words to generate a weak private key, which can be gained by exhaustive attack method? After all, you can only comply with the seed words it provides.
In theory I guess everything is possible, but I don`t think we should worry about. Ledger is on the market for some time and their codes were checked and deeply analyzed, they probably offered a bug bounty too in order to incentivize people (I don`t know for sure, but I see almost everybody does this nowadays).
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any new airdrop coins? on: January 20, 2018, 01:56:38 PM
Have you already processed your KYC for polymath airdrop?
https://token.polymath.network/

As a matter of fact, I decided to skip KYC for Polymath - I`ve found out about this only after I registered. I don`t feel comfortable sharing sensitive info with a new company, even if they do look legit. I see their banners on coinmarketcap since last week (and I know how expensive is that kind of exposure), so their project seems solid and I might regret my decision in the future, but let`s face it, we don`t even know how many tokens they will send. So it might be KYC for $2...

But it`s a good thing that you posted this, I`m sure there are many people who didn`t know that Polymath require KYC (I was one of them).

Actually, I missed whole airdrop because that spinning wheel just went on and on and could not register my eth address. Their project indeed looks solid, so I might buy poly tokens from airdrop sellers without any kyc Grin
Haha, my thoughts exactly!  Grin Instead of submitting my passport, I`m planning to buy some tokens on EtherDelta, as usual there will be plenty of dumpers/ weak hands as soon as the tokens will be dispatched (sounds incredible even to me, but today I bought some tokens paying only 1/3 of their ICO price!! I hope the rest of my buying order will fill  Cheesy ).

they will send 250poly if a poly ever hit 1usd... That's a total of 250usd.... To me... That's a good amount of money
As I already stated before, the future of the project sounds promising and I`m sure their airdropped tokens will have some value since their team is ok and some advisers are among Ethereum co-founders - I just don`t like their decision to demand KYC for airdrop, to say nothing about the fact that they require passport-only. I`m an EU citizen so I don`t need passport to travel across Europe and since I never go too far I don`t have a passport and neither most of my friends/relatives, so their KYC is somehow restrictive.

By the way, I doubt one POLY will hit $1 in the near future considering they will airdrop 10 million POLY... I searched more info about them and I didn`t manage to find out what is their total supply, but my guess is that the supply isn`t low (I mean it will be way more than 100 million).

94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Seeking for a long term coin on: January 19, 2018, 10:31:06 PM
For the next few months my choices are Ethereum and NEO, both of them are safe but I don`t expect them to grow very much. More risky - but with potentially higher reward - projects around 100 million market cap: Oyster (PRL) and Encrypgen (DNA). So, this is how I think that $500 can be invested: ETH and NEO $200 each, PRL and DNA $50 each.
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any new airdrop coins? on: January 18, 2018, 03:25:13 PM
Airdrops usually at 7:00pm Eastern Standard Time

New coin with great potentials, coming very soon to the exchange! Do your own research, study your own investment! Good luck,

96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: 🔷 trade.io 🔷[BOUNTY] 🔷 [ICO] TRADE TOKEN 🔷 on: January 12, 2018, 07:35:45 PM
Hi Bounty Manager. I have done Twitter campaign since start and should be rewarded 810 tokens but you have only sent me 95???

Dear manager, I'm participating in Twitter, facebook from the very beginning, but I also did not get my tokens, only 75 (((

ETH 0x40fb4cb64B25B38CDeFf9e1E4f9b83572C2a55fE

I assume you`re nothing to worry about, in the end they will send all the tokens. I also received only a part of what I was supposed to get - they sent me two transactions, the second on was after 30 minutes. Looking at the amounts sent, seems like they sent them for each week. Anyway, it`s a busy day for the team since today TIO was listed on the first exchange and I think it`s better to let them a couple of days to sort it out (also, this is a good way to avoid weak hands dumping  Wink ).
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any new airdrop coins? on: January 03, 2018, 04:59:49 PM
Why is airdrops becoming more like bounty programs. Its becoming difficult for newcomers like me Sad
I think that is because some people are cheating using multiple accounts.

Exactly many ppl just create many MEW accounts and register as a new member then dump easy and quickly such coins, they try to protect themsleves and us from such practises.
They want the project promoted for free, so I think this is the main reason for airdrops requiring us to do some tasks. Cheaters using multiple accounts can be easily spotted, all you have to do is to check the Bitcointalk account and the ETH address placed on Location field - if someone really wants to filter and do an exclusive airdrop, he simply can choose Full Members or up and wallets with significant amount of funds and many transactions during last 6 months. Simple as that...  Smiley
