81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / NeoScrypt vs CryptoNight vs X111 on: October 12, 2017, 09:10:01 PM
So, I have a small gaming forum, with some gaming servers like CSGO, Sa-Mp, TeamSpeak etc. And I'm planning to develop a coin for my users. They could mine it with their CPU/GPU or buy them from other miners, and use the coins to buy thing from my shop on the forum. Things like Skins for different games, CD-Keys for Steam/Origin/Battle.net games, in game currency and another things related to gaming. Eventually I would add it to an exchange so they have a place where to buy/sell the coins. But right now I'm in planning phase, so i don't know what algo to use for the coin. Which one is better for CPU/GPU mining. I'm planning to go PoW only, because I don't fully understand the concept of PoS and Staking. Thanks Smiley

Looks like another coin designed to make dev instarich in the first week of exchange, so tired of that.

They will be relased tomorrow, and in the next 2 days it will be on an exchange.

But why there is a 150GH/s network for shitcoin?
I will try to keep my rig there for a while as the most i can lose in my electricity is like 30EUR/month with 650W draw from the wall and another 150$ of coins value that i will not mine in this time. But if dev will come with all the news (roadmap, whitepaper etc.) and coin will go to the moon then i will not lose my 30EUR and get some value out of LUX Smiley

They will be released tomorrow on the website.

Is it worth mining? Will it value something, because I can't find it on any exchange.

So if I make my own altcoin and keep the core wallet open 24/7 with the blockchain on my PC, other users can connect to me as a node?
Well no. If you make an alt-coin you fork the network and no other nodes will connect to you. You will have created another network running your coin. So you are also going to need a wallet capable of running your coin.

Yes. If I'm making my own altcoin and wallet. And I keep it open 24/7 with the full blockchain, will I need an VPS to host the node?

I searched on some forums for help, but so far i still don't understand. What is the diference between a node on a VPS and an user keeping his core wallet open 24/7. What i know is that when you transform your VPS into a full node, you're basically compiling the wallet and keep it open 24/7 on that VPS. But if i keep my core wallet open 24/7 on my PC is still a node? Also, what is the use of rcp_user and rcp_password ? Don't hate plz.
