1 vega fe 41ETN after 9hrs, back at 2100H/s upped to 70000 difficulty from 50000 on hashparty

been running 1xvega fe after stop restart now hitting 2100H/s with 2x2016 threads, dropped to 1800 after just under 2hrs but still showing 2.17 at pool with fixed 50000 difficulty, (just been paid 6ETN with 2.86 pending after 2hrs)

Any idea how to go higher than 2x2016?

Got 2 other FE's but I only managed to get 2 running simultaneously at 4200H/s, other FE refuses to restart when I disabled it, now I can only get 1 to restart. Will have to take a look at that over the weekend

Ok Tried --opengl 1  that didnt work.  Im using the basic config "cast_xmr -S [pool server] -u [username or wallet address]"

Thanks anyway

--opencl 1, but not --opengl 1
Yep tried that one also earlier when I was reading  gandalph's "how to" on his website.   Still something missing.  Ill try later tonight to get it running.

--opencl, try 0, try 1, try 2.  Try em all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Also I assume you have blockchain drivers installed right..right ?  Should work.
Eureka.... I tried what you suggested and
It started to work.   --opencl 2 -G 0,1  Did it for me.
Beta Blockchain driver 17.30.1029 in use.
Core set at -4 , Clock 945 and power -10
She is running 1370H/s on gpu0 and 1372H/s on gpu1
Power at the wall is 474w

Now I just need to find out what else to tweek to get it up to 1900H/s per card

[update]
How hashing at 1950 per card after disabling the  “HBCC Memory Segment”

Thanks Fr4nkthetank

Interesting, you say its running faster with HBCC disabled? thats on the driver config?

apologies about that, keep mixing opengl/cl up. The only other thing I did was to change the default word to a number eg 20000, 50000 etc

What do you mean with changing to 20000/50000? What did you change?

Cheers.

Also the version is working pretty well!

the bit where it says wallet address.default

Blockchain driver are not detected

Greetings all and thanks for the new miner.....

So I hought I would try this new miner on my test rig but I get the error message "Blockchain driver are not detected" when I try to run it.
My system is a B250 Mining expert with 16gb memory and only 2 Vega RX56 in it.  Running Win10 Pro and blockchain driver 17.30.1029
The setup works for Ether with Claymore so I dont think its my hardware.  Any suggestions?

I had that error until I put --opengl 1 in bat file

what is "Outdated because of job change"?

3%, you are lucky, I could live with that, I was getting upto 50% rejected even when using high difficulty - 50000+ (computation failed)
(not knocking the developer, just bringing it to his attention)

Gave it a try with Vega FE + Blockchain drivers but cards not recognised  Angry
Maybe cause of modified BIOS ?!

I got it working, cards are recognised if I put --opengl 1 in config

unfortunately only getting 1450H/s each with 3 FE although at much reduced power/temp/speed (I know the FE can easily do 2150H/s as I have had that with AMD-stak single card but at high power)

I tried the new xmr-stak but not sure how multiple threads work

I tried 6 threads on 3 cards but got weird results followed by crash

3 Vega Fe with 64GB ram

5.6 MH/s  Grin Grin Grin , pity it wasn't real!

currently running 3 gpu threads at 2016 for 4350

I played around with other higher numbers but kept locking up
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: October 19, 2017, 05:18:10 PM
Is there stable intensity above 1800/1600 at all? I didn't have to restart the rig for more than 2 weeks at these. Then yesterday, I somehow lost 100H/s and I thought - lets do it and restart. Applied some higher intensities - first 2016/1600. Then 1900/1600. But I keep getting crashes after a while. Also, at 2016/1600, the cards had worse hashrate than at 1900/1600. Still, if I have to restart and reset every few hours, that ain't gonna cut it, 50-60H/s on top of what I was getting at 1800/1600 makes not much sense if its not stable.

How's the situation with your Vega rigs guys?

Also - is there anyone using 4 Vega + 2 Nvidia cards, that can share some wisdom on the matter ? What nvidia, what programs etc. As I dont think we are going to get new drivers, and I can simply forget about using HBCC on all 6 cards in the rig ...

P.S. Talking about Vega 64.

single Vega FE will do 2150H/s using two x 2016 at 32GB Ram but add more the rate drops. When I had 16GB I got a lower rate so I'm hoping 64GB will get me all 3 at 2150H/s. seems to be proportional to HBCC size which is proportional to system RAM.

I work away from home so will try at the weekend

Anyone know how to lock down the Fan speeds on a Vega 64?
[/quote

I created a custom fan profile using afterburner so that it goes to 80+ at just over 40C
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: October 19, 2017, 03:35:05 PM
Not sure the profitability is there with the Vega to be honest. I do like the idea of having less cards though but the increase in RAM puts me off as I am on DDR4

I have 3 Vega FE which is RAM bound on 32GB, only sees 23GB HBCC (one card sees 32GB for 2150H/s), I'm upgrading to 64GB at the weekend  Grin

Hmm, so I have 3x Vega FE in now

running 32GB system Ram

Config has 6 threads

2016 & 1900 per card but its maxing out at 4600H/s fo 3 cards using same settings as I was using for 1 card
(found trick was to set a custom fan profile in afterburner than turns up fans to near max above near 40C so that the core & mem settings load asap) and save all good profiles

Anyone know the relation between threads, weight and system RAM? (using fixed 100Gb swap)

draw on wall is 934w and about 200w idle

just wondering if there is any bus limitation?

maybe a new B250 board would help?

Tried an overclock on cpu to 4.4GHz and switched to PCIe x1 - no effect

noticed afterburner had sync cards set so I checked global settings

2 cards had HBCC at 3200mb and 1 had 2300mb (the min)

I unchecked the sync cards and restarted xmr-stak and afterburner and the one with lowest hbcc is running 200h/s slower

on the face of it , it looks like resource congestion  Grin Huh

Reset everyting and each block of 2016 threads is doing approx 745H/s (x6) with hbcc at 2388 on each, all syncronised in afterburner

PS upped virtual Ram to 120GB so it seems like its real RAM thats the issue

hi all, tell me which is the best card from all the Vega:  GIGABYTE, MSI, Sapphire or HIS ?

billhinge tell me which is card you use and what miner you use?

The original AMD FE from July, no brand, xmr-stak-amd

Having had the 17.10.1 screw windows to the point of being unbootable after a failed uninstall I used windows 10 repair to do a complete cleanup of drivers but keeping personal files. Neat trick to get rid of old drivers and afterburner settings. Now back at 2100H/s with one card running at 68C and drawing 320w at wall inc mobo etc at 80/90w.

back on good old blockchain drivers

Ok, I'm going to set up a new rig with just FE and see if I can enable HBCC.  Can you walk me through your setup and settings to 2100H/s?

I have 3 vega fe but this is just a single card installed

blockchain drivers and afterburner 19 on virgin windows 10 - 'restore' clean from usb install to clear out the crap
card bios switch away from power connectors (supposed to be for water cooled fe only)
custom fan curve, temp 68C, power max but could possibly tweak, core 1648, mem 1100 steady
HBCC max at 32G - not sure if that makes a diff?, virtual ram managed by windows - got same result by setting to fixed 100GB
PC has 32G, i7 skylake at 4.00ghz on 18 month old z170-ud5 th using mining bios settings
save

two threads 2016 at worksize 8 in xmr-stak-amd
card drawing about 280W but unfortunately I can't get the undervolt on afterburner to work, reducing power can reduce watts but I'm scared to spoil it  Grin

not sure what the magic numbers are in xmr-stak config for a third thread
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: October 15, 2017, 12:35:56 PM
just for fun tried 3 threads 2x2016 and 1000  and 2016, 1600 and 100, both went worse to 1700 or lower

thanks I tried afterburner 19 but it didn't work for me so went back to beta 16 which kind of works

now running at 2084h/s drawing 306w (minus 80+ for mobo) so possible to get lower

I would settle for 3x2050 at 600w if I could

Someone said that you should clean all old Afterburner folders before installing new version to make all work ... but I'm not sure.
I tried out of curiosity for 1 time, it didn't work and I gave up. I'm satisfied with results I have with reg-patch.

cleaning out seems to be a good idea, when I installed afterburner 19 it installed more files, been running an hour at 2116H/s solid, showing 2000+ at pool also
