I bought a TP-Link from giorgiomassa and received it after 2 business days. He seems to be trustworthy!
I sent them a request to order parts and they did not bother to reply. By the way, I do have an order standing with them for modules. I guess experiences vary? Not exactly. Same experience with regards to parts (Specifically, a spare controller). Msg BlackArrow from cardreaderfactory.com and he was way more responsive with regards to that.

good work mrb, this is what we wanted to see in the beginning. hint hint: the chip has a much higher clock cap. Is this due to advances at the fab? Does it run any cooler? at bitcoin2013, yifu stated they had a 340 mhz firmware but were holding it back. Only 20% overclock? Friedcat can do 30 with the Eruptor... .... lol ...

Thanks, but it's a bit incomplete, though. The schematic isn't EVERYTHING.. Where is the SchDoc? I think we all need the BOM too, otherwise it's useless. The schematics are provided in the PDF file which can , if someone wants to, be converted to a schdoc file ... It looks like their Altium BOM is about as detailed as the Avalon Altium BOM but some components are missing but the schematic PDF file fills in the blanks as does the Avalon PDF schematics fill in the blanks with regards to Avalon. Therefore, I believe if you know what you're doing the information provided is more than sufficient to make a fully functional BFL miner - if you have the asics. Basically, similarly to Avalon, a full and separate BOM doesn't appear necessary if you use the schematics in combination with the Altium file ...

You have a 12 Pin cable in a 10 pin PDU input that terminates in a 10 pin output into controller at 10 pins. Hope that doesn't make it to actual units and is a result of lacking correct housings for now

If you find someone selling for 1k or 30-40 btc (or priced at 1 month ROI) do tell me. I'll see if I can buy all of them - especially if done in escrow / cc / paypal.
4 module Avalon miners sell in the 7-14k at 'reasonable rates' (That's a 2-3 month ROI) and 14k+ at the 'unreasonable rates'.

All Avalon miners really are is extensions of your computer. Instead of using USB you connect to it through ethernet.
Honestly, I wouldn't want, nor buy, a miner that requires my computer to be on or connects to a motherboard directly and requires a PC motherboard to function. I'd rather have a specialized box far away in some basement than inside my computer. It just creates more hassle than is necessary.
I can see 'casual' miners as PCIe extensions such as 'casual' miners in USB thumb drive format.
Though honestly, anyone buying a USB thumb drive is doing it more for the novelty than mining. Same would apply for PCIe cards.

Can you confirm that the inner diameter on the nut is a M5 or double check that the screw is M5?
I've found screws with 3.0 mm slots but they're M8 screws.
Note: It may be cheaper to modify the design to use standard M8 screws that appear to have standard 3mm slots instead of the M5 screws if the M5 nuts need to be custom slotted.

Makes absolutely no sense in buying BFL chips over Avalon chips - presently.
Looking / reading through the docs it doesn't seem like BFL will release PCB schematics. I looks like they are only willing to release the ASIC reference material / schematics?
Most of the people ordering ASICs are hobbyists trying to launch 'companies' and being a bit bold. Very few of the orders are for 'non-hobbyists' (as in people doing this full-time and getting paid to do only this fulltime).
The only way buying BFL chips would make sense if somehow bitcoin value would go up through the roof and Avalon chips would become overly expensive. Another thing is unless someone starts doing open-source PCB design for a BFL chip I don't believe they'll get large interest from the community.
The reason that Avalon chips have been a hit is primarily because of the mostly complete miner designs being released. It isn't just because chip sales started happening. It's more 'hack n slash outfits' buying the Avalon chips than 'full time PCB/ASIC design outfits'.
