81  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: November 21, 2023, 07:56:05 AM
Ronaldo is still joining Al Nassr until the summer of 2025, so as long as Ronaldo is in the Saudi pro league, I think there will be many players who will follow in his footsteps, especially players who are no longer able to play in European leagues.
Currently, many people know what the Saudi Pro League is, perhaps one of the reasons is because Ronaldo's arrival at the SPL has made people interested in seeing Saudi Arabian clubs which are no less good than European clubs. As time goes by, I'm sure the SPL will develop even more. The SPL has stable finances and they can afford to buy European players
Even though the price is very expensive, Saudi clubs can also recruit coaches from Europe who have experience to improve the quality of their play so that it can be like the big European leagues.

Ronaldo signed a 2 and a half year contract with Al Nassr Club in Saudi Arabia. I know that Ronaldo came here to promote football in Saudi Arabia. Ronaldo came here to develop not only football but also to promote this sport to the younger generation, young men and women. Indeed, just half a year after Al Nassr recruited superstar Ronaldo, The Saudi Pro League national championship witnessed the entry of players from top European leagues.

I completely agree with your opinion. Saudi Arabian clubs need to immediately recruit good coaches. Only then can their tournament be able to compete with major European games. Their matches have yet to impress the fans.
82  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you in profit? on: November 21, 2023, 06:52:58 AM
Most gamblers are in the red. The only way for most to be in green is by betting once, winning, and quitting forever but what's the fun in that? Me personally, I would say i'm in the red, but I'm not betting a million dollars either.
When people play gamble and all they can have as a result is lose, the best thing is either to give a break or reduce the rate at which gambling is played.  Consistent playing of gambling and when the result still comes out as lose is not the best, it is a strategy of losing money .

When people keeps losing consistently in gambling it means something is not going well, at this point it is to have a break to check what could be the problem of the constant lose. Most times one of the reasons for steady lose is gambling could be lack of understanding,  people just come into gambling just because they want to make money quick, but when the result of lose is becoming much the best thing is to just have a break to stop wasting money.

Maybe I'm luckier than you, but I stopped playing for a long time when I lost a lot. When I first started playing, I didn't understand anything about gambling, and now I know a little bit. Perhaps knowledge of gambling also accounts for a higher winning rate. I don't know if I will continue. I will lose all the rewards I have, or if I will get more.
But now I feel very comfortable gambling. A good mood will help me win more. I won't stop gambling. Whether I win or lose, it's fun.
83  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Low cost but effective solutions to gambling addiction on: November 20, 2023, 11:53:29 PM
How did this unemployed person got addicted to gambling in the first place?
~snip~

I would think that many unemployed people turn to gambling as a way to make money, as they don't have it.

Not saying it's the best way to do it, but many do.

They will use some or all of their savings and try their luck at the casino, most of the time of course they simply end up losing it all.

That's right, unemployed people want to make money from gambling. Everyone thinks that gambling is the fastest way to make money without affecting any factors. If they commit theft, robbery is also a way to make money quickly, but if they take too much risk, the law will punish them. Making money from gambling will not be monitored by the law.
But they are wrong, and gambling is not a job for them to make money. They will increasingly burn all their savings on gambling, and gambling addiction will make them worse than when they are unemployed. The percentage of winners in gambling is tiny. Only lucky people get rewards in this game.
84  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: November 20, 2023, 11:30:46 PM
If Mbappé does decide to stay in PSG I’m done. This guy is really looking for money nothing else. That is if he stays in PSG. At this point, I don't think Real Madrid should actually be interested in him, to be honest. Real Madrid really wanted him and Real Madrid also offered 200 million. But he only used the name of Real Madrid to get more money out of PSG. He was never coming to Real Madrid. So now Real Madrid should say that if you want to play in Real Madrid, you as any other player. Now you are not a priority for Real Madrid because now you want to play with Vini Junior and Jude Bellingham. This could be his team, but now it is their team. If he wants to join Real Madrid on a regular wage, he can join. Otherwise, he can keep playing in PSG. Really, that’s what Real Madrid should tell him.

I agree with you and it seems that Real has taken exactly this position - as follows from the leaks, Real is not taking the initiative in negotiations with Mbappe and is waiting for him to make an offer. It's quite funny when a club waits for an offer from a player (and not vice versa), but it is quite logical after what Mbappe did in the previous round of negotiations and given that Mbappe is now in a worse position. Real is doing the smart thing in this game for a lot of money.

I didn't think he was that greedy for money. If Mbappé was after money, he would have come to the Saudi Arabian tournament. Where they paid him the highest salary of all time. I think Mbappé is being retained by PSG, and they cannot easily let him leave for free. 1 is that he continues to sign the contract, and 2 is that they must have money from his transfer.
Real Madrid wants Mbappé, and they still have many options for that vacant position. Maybe Erling Haaland is also very suitable.
85  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: November 19, 2023, 07:11:54 AM
Right now PSG is just dominating and there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that they are going to stay on top of the table for a long period of time. I actually don't think that they will drop from the first position honestly. But I think we should not underestimate the other teams in the Ligue 1 competition. Nice is showing good performance, Monaco is also on their tail. So the competition is not already over. But PSG is certainly the best team in the league and right now they are performing like one as well.

I won't say already that no team in the Ligue One is gonna be able to stop them. But it is going to be a hard job for the other teams for sure.
Other clubs such as Nice and Monaco are trying to take over first place but PSG is not a club that will easily give up because PSG has quality and experienced players even though it is difficult for PSG to win the title in the Champions League but PSG still performs well in the domestic league and try to dominate the title in league 1.
I don't see Lens chasing PSG again like last season because Lens is already quite a lot of points behind PSG, so I think this competition only exists in Monaco, Nice and PSG sees this competition like I saw the competition in the 2016/2017 season where these three clubs are trying scrambled to win the trophy and as a result Monaco managed to win it and PSG was in second place and Nice was in 3rd place, this season will be a very interesting season to see these 3 clubs competing again and we'll see which club manages to occupy first place because currently they only have a small difference in points.
Nice will be the team that threatens PSG this season. They have an unbeaten record this season and are only 1 point behind PSG. Nice has been an average team in Ligue 1 for many years. But who would have thought that Nice, under the hands of 34-year-old coach Francesco Farioli, would play so well. Just one mistake from PSG will help Nice rise to the top of the rankings. And have a chance to win this season. But in the end, Nice and Monaco cannot be compared with defending French champion PSG. They have abundant finances and outstanding stars. Then, the trophy also belonged to them. It is difficult for any team to be brave enough to defeat them.
86  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chances of Bitcoin ETF approval gone up on: November 17, 2023, 11:42:35 PM
The ETF will definitely be passed, it's almost inevitable but as many have said, it won't happen this year and we have to wait until at least Q1 2024. I also believe that the best time for the SEC to approve an ETF is the bitcoin halving. I don't believe they don't manipulate the market to make a profit because no one hates a lot of money. Don't think too much about ETFs this year, focusing on accumulating bitcoin will be better.
87  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is King on: November 17, 2023, 11:33:49 PM
but it is also very risky due to its volatility. You could also lose money....
There are risks in every investment, it's just how we can respond to them, and find the best solution for all the risks we face.  ,
as long as you are not greedy for making a profit . just that
Yes there are risked to all investment but Bitcoin has less risk than other investment. This is because other investment are tied either to the government or a private organization which make them controllable. While bitcoin is not. However, the risk involved in Bitcoin is that people force themselves to sell or panic sell because some are not certain what the price will be in the coming days. Holding a Bitcoin is not risky. There is at least a 78% chance that the equivalent price in of Bitcoin to Fiat in 4 to 10 years will be greater than what it is today.

The risk is left to us to choose. But ill rather take the risk of holding than selling.

Are you saying bitcoin is less risky than gold and real estate? Are 14-year-old assets with a capitalization of less than $1 trillion safer than thousand-year-old assets with a capitalization of tens of trillions of dollars? And is there anything government-related that would be unsafe? According to you, once the ETF is approved and government agencies and organizations will gradually invest in bitcoin. At that time, they hold the majority of bitcoin in their hands, will bitcoin also become unsafe? Is that what you mean because it is inevitable that bitcoin will become popular and many institutions will seek to hold the majority of Bitcoin?
88  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme. on: November 17, 2023, 11:20:26 PM
To me, bitcoin is a get rich faster scheme than other traditional investments like gold or real estate but it is not an investment that can make us rich overnight or in a few months . People who think bitcoin can make them rich quickly are mostly newbies and they are not wrong. Because they like us, lack knowledge and understanding when entering the market, so there will be such misunderstandings. Over time, they will gradually realize that things will not be as they think and they will become more mature. Instead, we should not criticize but help them understand that.
89  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An easy approach to Bitcoin on: November 17, 2023, 11:14:27 PM
I acknowledge the fact that no knowledge is a waste but bordering kids with Bitcoin knowledge is completely irrelevant, at some age let children be children teaching them about bitcoin could be beneficial at some point but where they can't put this knowledge use for the time being then it should be set aside till when it is due.
When it comes to newbies it's a basic beginners knowledge that is shared it's quite appreciated
I agree, I don't know what age the OP is talking about children but if he was talking about children under 10 I would object too. I am the one with 2 children and I personally witnessed raising them and watching them grow up day by day. Therefore, I feel that teaching bitcoin to children at this age is a waste and useless thing. Let them have a beautiful childhood, don't force or force them to do things they don't like. Bitcoin is just money, an investment, they can learn at any time when they grow up. To become rich, it is not necessary to invest in bitcoin early, and those who do not invest in bitcoin do not necessarily become poor.
90  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are there fewer women Than men involved in Bitcoin? on: November 17, 2023, 11:07:22 PM
When I checked the statistics of women who are into Bitcoin and found out that they are less than 10%, it surprised me seriously. It is understandable when we see fewer women than men in sectors that require physical energy to carry out work activity like the military or in the engineering sector but when you still see this same work force difference in the tech and Bitcoin space that they can comfortably do at the comfort of there home, it gets me curious to know the reason that might have been responsible for this huge gap.

I would appreciate if we can talk about this here. What could be responsible for this?
What data do you rely on to know that there are less than 10% of women in bitcoin? Investing in bitcoin can remain private and many people are not willing to go public. How can you know that? I agree that the number of women participating is not more than men, but it cannot be said that the number of women participating in bitcoin is very small, less than 10%. I know a lot of women in my country are involved in cryptocurrency investing, they are even more prominent than men.
91  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What I learnt from a crackhead about gambling on: November 17, 2023, 12:19:57 PM
Between drugs and gambling, which one do you think is more addicting than the other? I have a good reason for asking this question, because there is something I saw not too long and I am doubting if anyone have seen the same thing, I am from a place where crack heads ( drugs addicts ) and also gambling addicts are all around, here is what I've seen.

Well, of course, it's drugs. Drugs are a banned substance that causes people to change their personality, seriously damaging their health. But its excitement makes it difficult for players to give up. As for gambling addiction, we will have many ways to overcome it, and we just need to be determined to quit. But the important thing here is that Drugs have been banned for a long time, so the possibility of players getting addicted is less. As gambling is being legalized and gradually approved by the government, there will be more addicts than drugs. I want to ask you the opposite: if drugs are legalized, then drugs and gambling, which game will the higher proportion of people play?
92  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whatever happens, hold on to your Bitcoin. on: November 16, 2023, 11:29:04 PM
Emergency investment fund is a fund that should be available at every moment of human life. That's why it's important to set aside money for an emergency investment fund before investing. You should not rush to invest. First of all, funds should be created to meet the needs that may be required for human life and to be used in difficult times.

I am very much in favour of it and I have said it repeatedly in other threads: a very common mistake is to invest without first having an emergency fund, which can force you to sell at a loss when there is a market downturn and you have an unforeseen event in your life that forces you to seek liquidity. If you do things right you can HODL, and take advantage of the next bull run we are starting, selling only if you consider it convenient, when you have profits, although I only recommend selling part and keep holding another part.

I completely agree with this point of view, savings, emergency funds should be prioritized over investments because life is full of surprises and investments do not always bring us profits. But I bet many people don't do this because they are blinded by greed and profit. I believe many people are giving advice to rich people to only invest what they can lose. But they themselves are probably investing more than they can afford to lose, many people even put all their assets into bitcoin because they think that once the halving happens, we will definitely have a bull market.
93  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not perfect, and that's okay. on: November 16, 2023, 11:22:57 PM
doesn't make it the "tool for terrorism" as the governments want people to believe.
Is this really a thing that governments are discussing these days? Because the other day I saw another topic around the same subject here and despite the FUD about illicit usage being old it makes me wonder whether they are starting it up again?

I highly think that this is the only argument that the government that can think of. With all the advantages and benefits that one can gain from just earning BTC, people may still find a way to focus on its negative aspect and make it like a non-negotiable thing with them.

I just find it really funny whenever I read posts arguing that BTC should be avoided because it is a "tool for terrorism" due to its anonymity factor. I mean, anything an be a tool for terrorism; even money or fiat can be used by these people for illegal and illicit activities.
For a long time, I have not seen the government calling bitcoin a terrorist tool in mainstream newspapers. But I still see some people here continuing to spread this, I see that it is we who are spreading these negative arguments, not the government. It's true that they once considered bitcoin a terrorist tool, but things have changed. If they still consider it linked to terrorism, why have more governments started accepting it? We should stop spreading these negative arguments because the world is gradually becoming more positive about bitcoin.
94  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Start with the little you have, you don't need millions of dollars to own BTC. on: November 16, 2023, 11:14:25 PM
But investing $10 is not very practical with the fees attached to it, except you choose to store them on a exchange which is not recommended. New investors would try to achieve a balance between investing with what you have, maximizing profits and hang optimal security.
Yes, in this kind of situation where transaction fees are way high, the investor may decide or choose between increasing to an amount he or she is capable of affording or spending within the period we are experiencing high transaction fees such as we have right now and not only tied to buying with $10, we can adjust to suit this kind of situation, take you for instance if you were buying on a week interval you may choose to shift into buying in 2 weeks intervals and combine the two funds to save cost or worst case some can choose to wait for the fees to go down.

We should accumulate for a while and withdraw to our wallet every time we reach a significant number of bitcoins, I think there's nothing too dangerous or too risky. It's true that storing bitcoins on a centralized platform is not recommended, but if it's just a negligible amount, there's nothing to worry about. We need to behave according to our circumstances, not being too rigid or imitating others when our circumstances are different from theirs. Furthermore, not every exchange will collapse, Kraken, coinbase...and many exchanges have existed since 2012 until now, not every exchange will become the 2nd FTX.
95  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 16, 2023, 07:40:42 AM
Teams until Aston Villa are in a really nice competition for the lead in the standings. However after Aston Villa there is some decent point gap with the remaining teams. If Manchester United didn't have a bad start they would have been in a better position now. Even though they have lost many points they are still 4 points behind Aston Villa.

The board are still believing in Erik ten Hag to make this team better. He had better take advantage of this chance well and find a way to improve the form. They need to be effective and consistent in defense especially. Because they concede really simple goals.
The Manchester United we're complaining about are ranked 6th position on the table, and I'm surprised because watching them play on the pitch, there's absolutely nothing special, I'm just keep witnessing the same old Manchester United game pattern last season contrary to this season. Manchester united headcoach, Erik Ten Hag have hope of reaching high limits this season? But are the supporters willing to exercise patience with him? It's definitely going to take lengthy period of time before things will finally balance at Old Trafford, I know what I'm saying.

Their young players have yet to find a familiar voice. They play based on emotions. After all, they have a quality squad. The problem is whether Erik ten Hag knows how to exploit his students' potential or if he is mixing things up. I will wait and see what ten Hag will do. I still believe he can do it. Being in the top 4 this season is enough for the fans and the board to trust him.

Manchester United is not only weak on defense but also on attack. I feel regretful that they didn't recruit Harry Kane. Instead of welcoming Harry Kane, Man United recruited Rasmus Hojlund for a transfer fee of 72 million pounds. He has yet to score a goal in the Premier League after 9 appearances. Rasmus Hojlund's skills and strength are not enough, and he is not Harry Kane, so he needs more help from his teammates. Kane exploded at Bayern. He contributed 21 goals and 7 assists to Bayern Munich in 16 matches in all competitions. It's a shame they didn't pick Kane.
96  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some rich person not interest about bitcoin for following reason on: November 15, 2023, 11:22:11 PM
A friend of mine is not interested in buying Bitcoin even after learning about it.
Because according to him Bitcoin is a small number of people who have a lot of Bitcoin. They can easily go down on the bitcoin market if they want to.
Example: Cz. Craig wright & Michel Sailor etc.

Looking forward to the well thought out opinion of the experienced in this regard.

This is not strange, because you have also seen many billionaires who are not interested in bitcoin because they are rich enough and do not need to risk investing in bitcoin. That is why gold or real estate are still sought after assets and still in higher demand than bitcoin. Bitcoin is not yet an option for every investor.

Bitcoin is not the only investment that can bring wealth. I have a few real estate trader friends who have never been interested in Bitcoin and are making more money than us bitcoin investors. So there is no reason for them to risk choosing bitcoin when they are very rich. Frankly speaking, bitcoin is the choice of most people like us who want to get rich quickly with small capital. We want to become rich, want to earn hundreds of times more profit with our small capital and bitcoin is the choice. But many people will not dare to admit this, because they are afraid of embarrassment.
97  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Disadvantage of bitcoin on: November 15, 2023, 11:13:29 PM
Was going through some post on the forum when I came across this writing in a free signature space which writes “make sure you back up your wallet regularly! Unlike a bank account, nobody can help you if you loss access to your BTC”.

Now a lot of people would imagine the possibilities of losing access to one’s bitcoin in their wallet and there have been several cases of where people loss access to their wallets with massive holdings in it and that is why it is always advisable to back up wallet address regularly.
I’m not trying to down in BTC but at times we should call a spade a spade and accept the fact that aside decentralization that bitcoin offers and its volatility that we all profit from, a lot of people would still want to stick to the traditional banks because it also seems to be one of the safest place to keep our money.

Now my question is, do you think losing all of one’s coins simply because they didn’t have access to their wallet or key is already enough disadvantage for bitcoin against the local banks ?

Nothing is perfect, everything has pros and cons. Bitcoin gives you full control, helping you proactively use your assets without the help of any third party. So the safety of your property depends entirely on you. If in case you lose access to your wallet, it is your fault, not bitcoin's. As for the bank, even if it's not your fault, your assets can still be confiscated or frozen for no reason. Choosing bitcoin or a bank is up to you. If you don't trust yourself but trust others, you should choose a bank.
98  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 15, 2023, 02:02:57 PM
Aston Villa has better goal productivity than Tottenham. But I see Tottenham still have a good chance of beating Aston Villa. This is an interesting match because the two teams are only 1 point apart. Tottenham will win that match and Aston Villa will remain in 5th place in the standings. Even though Aston Villa has more wins but it cannot be said that Aston Villa has better chances.

Aston villa have been in a good form so far and one thing I like about the club is their ability to score more goals in their matches though the also concede goals but one thing that helps a team develop very fast is having finishers (attackers) that can be able to score goals in a match as that's the only possible ways a team can win matches. No matter how well a team plays without having strikers that can be able to score goals they might find it difficult winning matches. So Aston villa's performance so far this season is commendable.

Aston Villa continued their progress this season with a 3-1 win over away team Fulham at Villa Park. This victory helps Aston Villa be in the top 5 teams in the Premier League this season with 25 points. Aston Villa is in the race to win tickets to the European Cup. And they will play extremely hard in the battle with Tottenham. Aston Villa has a good coach in Unai Emery. I recognize that his talent is second only to Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola in this tournament.
Of course, Tottenham will not sit still and let them pass. This can also be considered a good opportunity for Tottenham to win and regain their spirit after the last two bitter defeats.

Liverpool has been performing pretty consistently and they have been performing well. They are currently in the second position of the table. The performance of this team has definitely shown a lot of improvement compared to the last season. So far think we can say that they can be a genuine competitor for the title.

But they have a really big match coming up against Manchester City. I don't know how they will be able to perform in that match. If I am being honest, I think Manchester City should be able to win that match. But it is definitely going to be close and competitive.
Manchester City lose Kovacic and Ederson, this make Pep has no choice and must pick Stefan Ortega to become a goalkeeper. Ortega is really bad, Liverpool definitely can score many goals. Even though Liverpool will not play their strong defenders, as long as they can score more, it's still a win for them.
Liverpool is challenging Man City in the Premier League championship race. Liverpool is in high form this season. In Liverpool's impressive performance this season, Salah is a name not to be missed. Salah even scored in all of Liverpool's last 6 home matches.
Manchester City could only get 1 point after a crazy 4-4 draw against Chelsea. Regarding central star Kevin De Bruyne, he has been absent for a long time. The match between Man City and Liverpool promises to be the best match of this season. I won't miss it. I still believe Man City will win because they have a talented Guardiola. But Liverpool's explosion is still possible.
100  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What percentage of bitcoin investors are gamblers ? on: November 14, 2023, 02:11:07 PM
What percentage of bitcoin investors are gamblers ?  Where will this figure be if we consider worldwide users ? I think it will be somewhere between 10-20% ?
When it comes to Bitcoin investors who gamble it doesn't seem like there anywhere near 50% and I think 20% to 30% is decent number.
Crypto gambling is growing well and the majority of people who quickly discovered it are crypto players consisting of investors and traders.
It just that we can't determine for certain what truly accurate number is for the percentage of gamblers who are also Bitcoin investors.

Quote
Also, it is possible that most of gamblers are still not bitcoin investors ? I see  less chances of the later happening.
I sure all gamblers in crypto gambling are people who are quite experienced in the crypto world but not all of them will have Bitcoin investments but Altcoin investments may have higher percentage.
Bitcoin is an asset with high price and an investor with relatively little money would definitely prefer Altcoins as an investment asset to be able to get bigger profits if only with not too much money.

The conclusion is that not all gamblers will have investments in Bitcoin.

Yes, it's somewhere around 20% to 30%. Gamblers often tend to want to win immediately. They cannot wait like investing in Bitcoin. And gamblers often spend small amounts of capital, so their Bitcoin investment will not bring high profits. They will use that money to gamble or buy Altcoin. Because the profits are higher than Bitcoin and faster, the risk will be proportional to the gains.
The percentage of people who invest in Bitcoin are people with large amounts of capital. They consider investing in bitcoin to make profits, while they gamble for entertainment. And there are people who buy Bitcoin, but their primary purpose is to use Bitcoin for gambling.
