81  Economy / Speculation / Re: The 2 Big Historical Bitcoin Breakouts Coming on: February 03, 2014, 08:51:57 AM

Looks like a safe bet.  Just seems like the fundamentals are trying to catch up to the price and that's going to take some time. Almost everyone on here is a bear short term. If it wasn't for that I might be a full on bear myself.

There is a crap ton of money on the sidelines, enough to take us to ATHs tomorrow but it is probably going to sit and wait around for cheaper coins. It will take fresh fiat to get the market moving in a sustained manner upward again and right now that isn't going to happen fast enough. Until we have an easier way for people to buy bitcoin in mass and/or we get the investment vehicles and regulations set up for mass investment, Bitcoins got some catching up to do.

yes exactly. Bitcoin is still an infant; given the necessary time, it'll grow

Great analysis.  I really cannot wait to see institutional money coming in and see how it will all play out.  Even Max Keiser is being somewhat conservative this year; on his twitter he feel BTC will reach 50bn market cap which means $3500-$4000/BTC.  Good luck to us all.

I can't see it going more than 1200 (on Bitstamp). And current stagnation makes me really think we could drop lower. Volume is crappy low.

calm before storm Smiley

Yes, but the spread between the two exchanges continues to remain high; and volume low. So February might be an uneventfull month going sideways.

sideways trading during first half of February....after that... Huh
84  Economy / Speculation / Re: In this thread list fears that exist in every Bitcoiner's mind. on: January 31, 2014, 10:17:21 PM
9,548.  That PRISM is a red herring, and the NSA's giant data center is actually a rainbow table for bitcoin private keys.

Why would they need to, since BTC is THEir invention? (my fear  Shocked)

Did the player ever make a comment about this anywhere?
Closest I know was the selling of his JD account:

87  Economy / Speculation / Re: #1 most popular Bitcoin Price Forecasts (+1,492% gains, +750% more than B&H) on: January 31, 2014, 07:22:21 AM
Seems that bitcoin has found a stable price level. I believe it will continue for some time. That could be a good thing for businesses using bitcoin.

Indeed, and due to this it might seem that sevices like this one are irrelevant / not accurate. Their reports seem accurate & extensive; but if the market is not moving / stable (which might actually be a good thing) there are also no trading opportunities.

91  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy]12 KNCminer Jupiter's 15 Sold [Closed] Jupiter Pool on: January 30, 2014, 07:54:11 AM
Hosting payment is Jan 31, I did not make the Jan 27 th payment to allow for a possible large  exchange rate change for next hosting payment on Jan 31.  Next  dividend payment will be on Jan 31 or Feb 01 depending on agibby schedule.

The Gigapool test went to the  same mining address Eligius is using now.  This can be confirmed by trans ids, that is why I posted that the test was going on.

Late penalty  fees are  for members who did not pay their required hosting fee on time. This did not apply to anyone with their  shares on Bitfunder  or paid their required hosting fees on time.

The books and wallets are balanced now, I am just waiting for last hosting payment to clear up the outstanding mining income.

Thank you.
92  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTCchina IS BACK, bank deposits restored!!! on: January 30, 2014, 07:10:58 AM
Hahahahahahahaha, what a hopeless attempt to drive the price up.
If it was restored, BTC China would have made an official comment about it.

Tsss, you desperately need cheap coins, don't you  Grin
You've been conducting attempts to drive the price down several days now.
Everybody knows that only confirmed Proudhon sources are to be reckoned with...

94  Economy / Economics / Re: Vast expansion of BTC utility/reputation - but no rise in BTC price? Why? on: January 29, 2014, 02:40:17 PM
1. Is the price actually being partially supported by multipools trading alt coins for BTC?

Interesting. This is IMHO the only use / purpose of altcoins.
95  Economy / Speculation / Re: Satoshi's long term plans on: January 29, 2014, 02:38:03 PM
Satoshi is just a group of NSA paid geeks.. not some lone Japanese genius.

How do you know? I think Bitcoin gets awfully close to something as radical as the NWO but how can we know to which polarity it really belongs?

Well, this is indeed the ultimate question. Not the identity of Satoshi, but perhaps the motives behind this...
96  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Belgian Bank sends out FUD newsletters concerning Bitcoin on: January 29, 2014, 02:33:47 PM

Thanks for this!
97  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Belgian Bank sends out FUD newsletters concerning Bitcoin on: January 29, 2014, 02:32:37 PM
Perhaps you should write back to them and ask why they are telling deliberate lies. And then add, "Oh sorry, forgot for a moment that you're a bank." Also mention that there are legal repercussions under European law surrounding abuse of truth in advertising.

They are not telling lies. Every item in the list is correct.

True, but since this was sent out I have received numerous messages / calls from friends and family (who know I'm into BTC) that are telling me:
"OMG OMG SEE! EVEN THE BANKS ARE WARNING YOU! I TOLD YOU SO!"

Every story has two or more sides to it; but here they deliberately target some unaware / uneducated (in regards to BTC, that is) mass to deliver some kind of proactive strike. The only upside to this is that the people who received this will maybe, just maybe, think for themselves and do the proper research. (and make up their own mind instead of blindly following the banks' communiqué)
98  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Belgian Bank sends out FUD newsletters concerning Bitcoin on: January 29, 2014, 01:39:31 PM
Well, I guess we have arrived at the point where banks are feeling the hot breath of Bitcoin...
Today I received a letter from one of the more larger and well known Belgian banks.(general mail, not directed particular at me)

I won't bore you with all the details (2 pages long); but it wasn't a love letter to Bitcoin.

They finish their letter with (translated):

KBC advises not to invest in Bitcoin. We will summarise the many risks for you:

* Very hard to comprehend, and way to complex
* Not backed up by anything or anyone
* High volatility
* No money or gold guarantuees
* Lots of uncertain technological risks
* Very sensitive to fraud, illegal transactions & government regulation

This was a mailing that was sent out to all their investors & clients...I couldn't help but immediately think of this:
http://tapastic.com/episode/3686

I never expected this to happen in Belgium, but it seems that the banks over here are starting to spread the FUD...
