82  Bitcoin / Hardware / hashrate unexpectedly drops! damaged hash units? on: September 03, 2013, 03:49:28 PM
i have a 4 module batch 1 and by right it should be hashing at 100-120gh/s (MHSav and MHS5s) I made sure the heatsinks do not contact any capacitors or components

but sometime after my latest round of cooling mods (placing alu heatsinks on the square mosfets?) on the lower 3 modules (1st mode at the top is left alone)

the hashrate has dropped to around 85 to 104gh/s and my mhSav has dropped to 98500gh/s

I have a power meter attached to the power socket for this unit and it confirms the actual power draw has dropped from the usual 970-990Watts to as low as 770-940Watts

on the miner status pag, it still shows miner count 32, asic count 10. if there is a fault within the miners, does it reduce those numbers?

stats page is down but it is still working for the miner page? paying out, getting paid work as per normal?
84  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [MOD] Proposed Avalon noise reduction/cooling increase for B1/B2/B3 on: September 03, 2013, 12:37:54 PM
added even more heatsinks while getting quotes for the cnc milling of my waterblock

hope the double sided tape works because i used the same tape on the external heatsinks (mounted on the hotter side panel) and hung a lightweight 120mm fan on it and the heat caused it to lose grip.

anyway i added them to the square blocks (chokes?) because they felt extremely hot (50+ degC) for the last 3 modules.

the top module does not have air from the 2 main fans blowing over it unlike the lower modules, so the top module's pcb surface is actively cooled with just a scythe GT fan blowing air, without any heatsinks and it runs a lot cooler. so i found it strange that the

88  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: How can I make a remotely controlled power switch on: September 01, 2013, 05:44:12 PM
why not use this

i intend to use this because my avalon occasionally restarts but doesn't start mining until it's manually shutdown and restarted.

my idea is that, i connect it to the mains (between the psu's power plug and the wall socket) and make it shutdown for the smallest duration every few hours.

shutting down for say 15mins (not sure if there are shorter intervals) for every 4hrs is better than having a miner go offline for 4-5hrs or longer until someone is able to power cycle it for u

Shipping from outside the US.

You've received two payments from Eligius.

The latest in block 0000000000000026a7eed5950feb03c3c10c4eeca7af65a5c3a03206bce984f6 (http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/blockinfo.php/0000000000000026a7eed5950feb03c3c10c4eeca7af65a5c3a03206bce984f6)'s coinbase transaction for 0.27209845 BTC, and the previous from block 00000000000000388b7c261008a9cff89ef8cc1ec34748d54ef269df75f36ead (http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/blockinfo.php/00000000000000388b7c261008a9cff89ef8cc1ec34748d54ef269df75f36ead)'s coinbase transaction for 0.74349558 BTC.

These payouts can be confirmed as being in the blockchain by anyone.  The older payout (0.74349558 BTC) was sent in transaction 8c42cfa9882ffdb0b73338cc4176773cc51e6c6039f396e74cb41233e9824ee6 (http://blockchain.info/tx/8c42cfa9882ffdb0b73338cc4176773cc51e6c6039f396e74cb41233e9824ee6)

Hope this helps.

Try re-syncing your blockchain. I've had some payments not show but I know they'd been confirmed. On e I got MultiBit to replay the blockchain, they appeared.

wizkid

the payment for 0272 only appeared in my bitstamp address almost a day after it was sent out

the previous payment of 0.74 appeared much quicker after it was "posted" on the table on the right of the stats page

i'm confused with this payout..
it says i've got a payout 0.272 bitcoins almost 11hrs ago and i've not seen it yet.

Payouts are direct from coinbase (generation/mined/mint). If you're using some online wallet and not a normal bitcoin client, there are known issues with this due to some of their sloppy implementations.

I doubt there is a pool side issue. I can check if you post your mining bitcoin address.

try setting min fan speeds

i found a potential problem with the 20120721, not sure if it's fixed as i havent tried other versions yet

the funny thing is, once temps go below 48 (i set the threshold at 52) the fans drop to min rpm 840rpm then temp rises quickly, sends the fans spinning like mad again then cycle repeats

How long have you been mining?  The pool hasn't found a block in about 2 hours, so you won't see any rewards show up yet.  And a heads up on PPLNS, your shares takes ~8 hours to be fully paid as blocks come in (which also means if you stop mining, your earnings will still be ticking up for about 8 hours).

oh ok, i thought i made a mistake with the connection/settings.
mining for just about an hour? anyway the webpage for btcguild is still having issues right? no wonder i've been getting a lot of captcha verifications that day and connection issues today.

thanks.
