Ok I don't think bitcoin transactions are that slow anymore....also someone explain to me why lightning is so bad for crypto?Also I would like someone to explain to me how Digibyte is so much faster other than that it has quicker block times? Isn't the block size of DGB variable as well? Im just trying to understand how any crytpocurrency could scale, keep everything on chain and still manage an enormous throughput of transactions per second. Every merchant shouldn't be expected to download a 12GB(?) blockchain to accept payments, maybe you guys have some sort of light client though? Aside from my pessimism, I do think this coin is really solid in terms of community and development, it's an old project that has been time tested and has shown price action similar to other large cap currencies....wish I would have just bought alot and held it back in 2014.  Definitely a good one to speculate on though, it will pump again to ATH's and hopefully stay there, I think a good target for a future floor is 1100-1400 sats...it will probably need to get listed on binance though unfortunately....they have everyone by the balls right now  . Ten minute blocktime... So just imagine: In ten years you can go to wallmart and pay with Bitcoins there. There are 6 persons in front of you in the queue. Each person needs 30-60 minutes until there payment is verified... Not slow? Lightning will help avoid the above scenario, but in my opinion, it is a security risk. You make transactions without the original blockchain... I think it will never be as secure as using the original blockchain. Bitcoin is great. It is the fantastic idea of Nakamoto Satoshi, who gave it to us. But from technical point of view, there are much better coins out there today. One of these better coins is definitely Digibyte... |

And what's the point if the seller I'm buying from gets fiat? Convert it again fees, there is no benefit there. It is also my question. Problem is what benefits shops could gain by using debit card of Coin. Beside that, Almost people don't familiar with crypto currency, even don't trust so I think the fact that applying debit card of Coin will be a long story... The point is, that the shop dont has to do anything. If there is a shop that accepts credit cards as payment, you can use your coin-based credit card there. The shop dont even know that you pay the credit card bill in background with coins... He gets his money in fiat. So for the shop it is the same if someone use a USD Credit or debit card or a coin based credit or debit card. But the people that want to use coins, can do so wherever they want to and whatever they want for... |

You can use it to pay anywhere and anything. This is one step for the so called mass adoption. You could for example buy Verge coins, because you think they will rise and be worth more in future or just because you want to support the project. But anyway you have the possibility to use it (like fiat) when you need parts of the money invested. I think this is much benefit. It will take some more years until you can pay with cryptos and the merchants will keep the cryptos. This will happen if we have the mass adoption and together with this we have more stable prices. Nearly no merchant can take the risk, that he gets paid in crypto and one week later, the value has maybe halved. Of course, it may also be that the value has doubled, but businesses has to pay bills, loans and salaries. They cant take that risk right now. The other thing is, businesses cant pay there bills, loans and salaries in crypto (right now), so they have to convert it to fiat. Again, it will take some more years until bills, loans and salaries can hopefully be paid with crypto too. You guys need to recognize, that only about 3% of the mankind are using cryptos right now. Maybe we can talk about the above mentioned things if 15% uses cryptos... The days will come, when you can pay with your cellphone wallet at any store, or maybe there will be some things like creditcards, that works directly with cryptos without exchange in the background. But it will take some more time until we get there. One day, if you go to a shop or shop online, the price tags will show information like: 9,99$, a,b Bitcoin, x,y Verge and so on |

Somehow i have a feeling that soon Digibyte DGB will pass/overtake us without a mega deal of the year  (Just a bit of black humour, but the gap gets daily closer and closer) Digibyte is a very good project too i think, but there are some different goals of the two coins. Verge is trying to get an widely accepted coin for payments. Digibyte is trying to offer a lot of options around the payment itself (see the new Digi-ID option for example). Anyway, i think both, Verge and Digibyte, are real good projects. I am invested in both coins. |

Debit cards are cool for a certain target group of people. Although banks are already moving on to digital wallets, copying one of our market's breakthrough, and they are in a test and adaptation period right now. No one will really need to hold a bank debit/credit card on his wallet in a few years. What we need is to be constantly ahead of them and not rollback to their 1980 technology. Token pay will expand Verge though and they aren't only interested in cards, so I think it is a good move. yes, It's so hot if This news will be done in this year and Verge will go up to the sky . I expect Verge will become a payment coin for online shopping in next year. Could you help me explain details about the partnership of Verge & TokenPay? Although i agree with you in most of your arguments, i read sometimes now, that the higher max supply of verge, compared to bitcoin, has any influence to that. I dont think this is true. Of course the higher max suplly is responsible for a much lower price. But there will be a decreased number of new coins coming to the market. It can influence the price. Of course it will not double the price. But it could happen, that the price increases a bit. If you look at the last bitcoin halving, it took some time after that, but then bitcoin price rised. Att his time, just to keep the price as it is, there must be a demand that is high enough to compensate the new coins that come to the market. So if the demand (and i also mean the demand for the new mined coins) stay as it is, but the number of new mined coins decrease, this could result in an increasing price. We will see, hey it is crypto... Noone knows.
Regarding mining: In the end, there will be a lot of miners, that will switch to other coins. And after a few days, the earnings will distribute through the different coins. So i think the mining earnings will, after a short while, only go down a little bit. Of course it maybe, that the earnings will go down today, immediately after the halving, significantly. But it will go up again after a while. There will be less miners for verge, this means lower dificulty, this means more earnings for the miners that stay. A lot of people anyway do multimining with autoswitch, they will switch to other coins (this means the difficulty for that other coins will rise, and they earn less there...) After a while there will be a new balance again and everything will be fine.
The problem in your calculation or scenario is that you think that the big majority of demand is created by mining, but that is not the case. All the demand is/will be covered by the excisting cicrulating suppoly that is allready on exchanges or will go there easyly if needed. This is the main problem with high max. supply coins. It would need a lot that some extra supply is needed. Just did some reasearch. On average for the last 15 days 1.412 blocks per day are mined, means about 2,259,200 XVG/daily. After halving in theory it would be half of it, 1,100,000. This number will fluctuade a bit forworth and backworth up to how many miners switch and if the remaining will compensate it by less difficulty. In the end it should be the same, meaning around 1,100,000 XVG are generated daily. As said in my previous post, the change of less daily mineded XVG compared to the excisting XGV circulating supply is about 0,007 daily. Have in mind that again, dailly you get again some new 1.1M XVG and that it did not stop at all. I will try to make another example: The last 24 hours the 24h XVG volume was ~$100,400,000 USD, means there are 1,434,285,714 XVG traded the last 24 hours. You now get maybe the idea that these 1M XVG less daily do NOT There is make any change at all at the exchange. There is just enough supply for the demand in circulation allready. It would be a different story IF a sudden the demand is 2x higher than the available supply. THAN indeed the new mined coins had an impact. Conclusion, we miners won't feel the halving in price at all, it will be mostly something in the range of 0.0001 USD, at very most. well it is the same with bitcoin, the new mined coins are about 24 * 6 * 12,5 = 1800BTC a day. there 17.000.000 Bitcoins out there. But last time after the halving and with a bit delay, bitcoin price increased significantly. But of course, it is not for sure, that the reason was the halving. So in the end, it is like said: It is crypto and noone knows. We have to wait and see what will happen. And in the end we will not know for sure what ever will happen, if it is because of the halving or not, because there are so much other things that can change the price... |

Anyone know something about the CE-Certificate debate?
It was on here some time ago and normally you cannot import things into EU without CE markings.
Will the next baikal products have it? As i read it’s a risk, if customs check it they don’t let it go through.
If there will be one day a new product and the MOQ is high (example 6) then probably customs will have a look and this maybe result in loosing a ton of money.
What do you think about that? Or anybody knows sth?
I think about buying a larger amount if there come new ones one day.

They dont have a CE-Certificate and i am quite sure they wont have any in future. The chinese manufacturers of miners dont give a shit about there customers. They will promise you everything to make you buying. But if customs check the delivery and they wont let it through, you dont need to wait for any help from the manufacturers. From the time they have your money, it is completely your risk. Do not expect, they will refund only one dollar. This is a common problem from chinese suppliers, doesnt matter what they are selling. They know, you cant do anything to them. try to send a letter from an attorney or something like that to them. The only thing they will do about that is a big laugh. |

With the upcoming Halving 9 May, we will be mining only HALF the amount of coins we do now... Who will be mining this coin, when price will not double? Sorry to say, but if mining XVG will be intense lower I will switch back to LTC. Wondering what others will do  Lets hope that there are a lot of people thinking like you... this would mean decreasing of difficulty and more Verge for me 😀 It is common sense to think that the price of verge will double up as with half of mining the total of today will mean that the supply of more coins to the market will be halved. There are thousands of people who are selling their coins each day when they mine only a few are keeping them for long term. Those people who sell daily are keeping a restriction in the price to increase and if the mining supply will be halved then that flow of the coins to the market will be reduced and keeping the current demand of the coin we can say that the price will double up. It's not really working like this. Would be perfect for all of us that mine XVG, but halving will not mean double in price later. Even less with a such high max. supply. Your scenario would eventually to some extend apply IF only the miner coins go to the exchange and nothing else, but that is not the case. 10% are left for mining and about 90% are on the free market. Or in other words, 15 Billion XVG are can be traded all the time and that's going to continue to happen. Whenever there will be a price change someone is selling and buying, and in most cases from someone in the 90% circulating supply and not from the right now fresh mined coins. Too lazy and tired to make some mathematics at this time. But let's say 1M XVG are mined daily after the halving, that's 0.00666% of the available circulating supply that will or will not go to an exchange. The halving will have about 0 impact in my opinion, just too much max. and circulating supply to have real impact, not even talking about double price as some mentioned. why digibyte not in coinbase? not in binance?  nobody takes seriously this coin...  needs to get in big markets or will perish. why not grow i need my money back  invested in 10 cents/DGB and it crashed. i sense a scam.  If you buy shares and they go down, do you talk about scam then too? You did invest at the wrong time. Noone but you is responsible for that. I can't hear all that children anymore talking about scam, because they lost money. I am quite sure, you did not even one minute research before investing. Just thought about that trafficjunky deal. If i'am correctly informed traffic junky controls the porn ads, not? If this is the case the majority (if not all) users are companies launching ad campaigns.
If i'am correct with the above than XVG will have about 0 impact on it. It doesn't make sense to use XVG for a company to pay whatever bill since you can not write it off (taxes).
While it sounds good i doubt that this deal will have whatever influence on XVG price.
Even when i am also not sure, if this is such a big news, i still wonder why a company should not be able to write down things they paid with cryptocurrencies? It doesnt matter how you pay. I have a business too. And if i pay a bill with cryptos it is exactly the same as if i had paid it in Euro or Dollar... In my opinion you could make this a much bigger deal, if you would offer a discount when paying with verge. So you could big companies give a stimulation to buy verge and pay with it. Actually right now it's not like that. How are you calculating VAT in crypto? And even more important how are you going to declare VAT in crypto, write offs in crypto to the tax departement? Next thing is the profit/lose calculation. What are you going to write on your companies busines declaration? Spent 20.000 XVG for advertising? And how are you than fiting this against the USD, Euro or whatever profit calculation. Maybe there are some ways i'am not aware of, but in my european country at this moment this is for sure not possible. Even one step further. Let's say you deal as a company only with crypto. You make 100.000 XVG profit and 40.000 XVG lose, you have to pay corporate tax on 60k XVG. So you are going to pay your tax departement for example 10k XVG? It's not that easy when it comes to companies and enterprises and taxes as you might think it is. I'am far away to say there is no solution for it, but i'am not aware of one. Would be interesting to see if someone has, whatever country, a solution for this or how such cases would be handled. Just out of curiousity. I live in europe. I have to make all my declarations in euro. And i have to make all my payments to government in euro. So for me it is the same if i pay a bill in USD or in crypto. I have to calculate how much euro are these cryptos/dollars. I can of course not write a bill or get a bill in crypto. But i can get a bill for lets say 1000€ and if the company that wrote the bill accepts crypto i pay them in crypto. But as mentioned, it is the same if i get a USD invoice. I have to calculate how much euro are this. I could also write a bill for 100€ + 19€ VAT, and then i accept getting the value of 119€ in crypto. I could also pay with or be paid in gold or whatever... It doesnt matter... |
